My name is Allen Seagers and have survived the Chronic bronchitis form of COPD since 1976. At the age of 16, I dove into shallow water from a boat dock breaking my neck and drowning in water with diesel fuel in the water. I came too coughing water on shore and then begin the survival education of a lifetime.

An effective anti-inflammation product is needed so I do not depend on Prednisone. Which is a synthetic corticosteroid drug that is particularly effective as an immunosuppressant drug. It is used to treat certain inflammatory diseases and (at higher doses) some types of cancer, but has significant adverse effects. Because it suppresses the immune system, it leaves patients more susceptible to infections. But sometimes Prednisone is essential, I had to take a weeks worth after a bout with pneumonia. Always follow the Doctors advise.

This is were an anti-inflammation product is needed to open your airways without leaving us open to more respiratory infections. Our survival depends on building a strong immune system. So we can wean from oxygen therapy and allow the chronic inflammation reduce and build healthy lung tissue. Then breathing becomes more comfortable and can live a better quality of Life.

So what are we up against with inflammation and needing a healthy anti-inflammation product. This a Wikipedia a definition.
Worldwide, COPD ranked as the sixth leading cause of death in 1990. It is projected to be the fourth leading cause of death worldwide by 2030 due to an increase in smoking rates and demographic changes in many countries. COPD is the fourth leading cause of death in the U.S. and the economic burden of COPD in the U.S. in 2007 was $42.6 billion in health care costs and lost productivity.

Chronic bronchitis is a chronic inflammation of the bronchi (medium-size airways) in the lungs. It is generally considered one of the two forms of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). It is defined clinically as a persistent cough that produces sputum (phlegm) and mucus, for at least three months per year in two consecutive years.

Bronchitis may be indicated by an expectorating cough (also known as a productive cough, i.e. one that produces sputum), shortness of breath (dyspnea) and wheezing. Occasionally chest pains, fever, and fatigue or malaise may also occur. Mucus is often green or yellowish green and also may be orange or pink, depending on the pathogen causing the inflammation.

Tobacco smoking is the most common cause. Pneumoconiosis and long-term fume inhalation are other causes. Allergies can also cause mucus hypersecretion, thus leading to symptoms similar to asthma or bronchitis.

A physical examination will often reveal diminished breath sounds, wheezing and prolonged expiration. Most doctors rely on the presence of a persistent dry or wet cough as evidence of bronchitis.

The diagnosis of COPD requires lung function tests. Important management strategies are smoking cessation, vaccinations, rehabilitation, and drug therapy (often using inhalers). Some patients go on to require long-term oxygen therapy or lung transplantation.

With quadriplegia and more severe cases of COPD a tracheotomy is needed. I have had two in my lifetime but was able to wean off dependent airflow and did not need an open airway to have mucus suctioned out of my lungs. The tracheotomy consists of making an incision on the anterior aspect of the neck and opening a direct airway through an incision in the trachea. The resulting stoma can serve independently as an airway or as a site for a tracheostomy tube to be inserted; this tube allows a person to breathe without the use of his or her nose or mouth.

There is much more to discuss on how to life a quality life with Chronic Bronchitis COPD. Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is one of the most common lung diseases. It makes it difficult to breathe. There are two main forms of COPD:

Chronic bronchitis, which involves a long-term cough with mucus.

Emphysema, which involves destruction of the lungs over time.

Most people with COPD have a combination of both conditions.

I like to think I do not have Emphysema, but has been mentioned and will have further testing.

My Ant-Inflammation Newsletter will dive deeper into how to survive COPD and learning to live a quality Life. Feel free to contact me at anytime concerning surviving COPD. I am certainly not a Doctor but have learned to fight COPD.

To learn information about anti-inflammation products, it will be necessary to provide Google readers with the best information possible concerning the topic of inflammation.

Inflammation (Latin, ?nflamm?, “I ignite, set alight”) is part of the complex biological response of vascular tissues to harmful stimuli, such as pathogens, damaged cells, or irritants.[1] Inflammation is a protective attempt by the organism to remove the injurious stimuli and to initiate the healing process. Inflammation is not a synonym for infection, even in cases where inflammation is caused by infection. Although infection is caused by a microorganism, inflammation is one of the responses of the organism to the pathogen. However, inflammation is a stereotyped response, and therefore it is considered as a mechanism of innate immunity, as compared to adaptive immunity, which is specific for each pathogen.

Without inflammation, wounds and infections would never heal. Similarly, progressive destruction of the tissue would compromise the survival of the organism. However, chronic inflammation can also lead to a host of diseases, such as hay fever, arteriosclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, and even cancer (e.g., gallbladder carcinoma). It is for that reason that inflammation is normally closely regulated by the body.

Inflammation can be classified as either acute or chronic. Acute inflammation is the initial response of the body to harmful stimuli and is achieved by the increased movement of plasma and leukocytes (especially granulocytes ) from the blood into the injured tissues. A cascade of biochemical events propagates and matures the inflammatory response, involving the local vascular system, the immune system, and various cells within the injured tissue. Prolonged inflammation, known as chronic inflammation, leads to a progressive shift in the type of cells present at the site of inflammation and is characterized by simultaneous destruction and healing of the tissue from the inflammatory process.

In other words, inflammation is partly a normal occurrence; however, that same inflammation, when gone unchecked, can cause disease in the human body. It will be my goal here, to discuss in detail my dealings with inflammation, and if you decide to opt in for my newsletter, I will go into greater detail for you. I am here to assist anyone who is suffering the pain and agony of inflammation.
