1828 Shepherd View of London, England

This is an uncommon example of the 1828 view of London drawn by T. H. Shepherd. It features a lovely view of the River Thames and the London Bridge. Many small boats can be seen in the foreground. In 1828, when this view was drawn, this 'new' London Bridge was still under construction. It would only be opened in 1831. This view was engraved by J. B. Neagle as part of Malte-Brun's System of Geography , Vol. I., published in New York by Samuel Walker. <a href="http://www.geographicus.com/P/AntiqueMap/London-maltebrun-1828>... more
