Fitch was an instrument maker working in the later part of the 18th century. As an early pioneer of steam navigation, Fitch tested several steamboats on the Delaware River between 1785 and 1788. The view, prepared in 1897 by Moses King, has here been coopted to demonstrate the prosperity of the Regal Shoe Company.  The caption describes how, if all the shoes they cold in 1897 were made into a single shoe that shoe would be 34 miles long and 17 miles higher - hence the illustration at hand. <title>1871 Vaux and Olmstead Map of the Concert Grove, Prospect Park, New York City</title>

His map focuses on the section of Prospect Park now occupied by Wollman Rink and the adjacent Concert Grove.  Pathways, individual trees, pavilions, boat landings, seats, and fountains and depicted. <title>1774 Jefferys and Braddock Mead Map of New England (Most Inhabited Part)</title>

Centered on the Massachusetts Bay Colony, this map covers from Long Island to Lake Champlain and from the Hudson River to Cape Cod and Kennebec Bay, Maine.  There is an inset of Boston in the upper left corner and another of Boston Harbor near the cartouche in the lower right quadrant. This scarce map was drawn by Braddock Mead (a.k.a. Oriented to the south, this map covers an region roughly 9 miles south of Saratoga, New York.  The map details lands from the Hudson River westward and from Stillwater northwards. <title>1871 Kellogg and Pilat Map or Plan of Canal Park, New York City</title>

It shows the plan of improvements of Canal Street Park, located between Canal Street and West Street above Holland Tunnel.  The map notes the location of trees and shrubbery within the triangular park.
