It covers the European portions of Russia from the Gulf of Bothnia to the Ural Mountains and from the Arctic south as far as the Black Sea.  The modern day nations of Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and Finland are included. <title>1798 Perouse Map of the Sea of Japan and Sea of Okhotsk (Russia, Japan, China)</title>

The map covers the region from the coast of southern Kamchatka south as far as northern Japan and Korea.  The eastern coasts of China and Siberia, Sakhalin Island and the Kuril Islands are also covered. In 1825, a few years before this map was drawn, Russian army officers, called the Decembrists, protested against Nicholas I’s ascension to the throne. The map covers from the Arctic Ocean to the Black Sea and from Sweden to Tartary.   In 1825, a few years before this map was drawn, Russian army officers, called the Decembrists, protested against Nicholas I’s ascension to the throne. The larger map covers Scandinavia and the european portion of Russia from the Arctic Ocean to Turkey, including the european portions of Russia as well as Finland, Ukraine, Latvia, Lithuania and estonia. <title>1873 Stieler Map of Central Russia</title>

It covers from the eastern part of Lake Ladoga east as far as Perm and south as far as Okhtyrka (Achtyrka), now in the Ukraine.  Russia at this time was under the suzerainty of Tzar Alexander the II. Parts of neighboring China including Japan and Korea, Hindustan, and european Russia are also detailed. <title>1791 Bocage Map of the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov in Antiquity</title>

Take from an earlier D'Anville map, Barbie de Bocage's map covers the Black Sea (Pont euxin), the Crimea, and the Sea of Azov (Lake Maeotis), identifying various sites along their shores.  It was here that the legendary Golden Fleece sought by Jason and his Argonauts was said to lie. Prepared by M.
