Late Ming Jifu

A rare dragon robe in the style of Ming Dynasty with wide sleeves and dragon coiled around the shoulder. The embroidery is exquisitively done with the bodies of the dragons executed in gold-foiled threads. The nineth dragon is hiddden under the lower flap of the robe.

Mid-Qing Jifu

A typical Qing dynasty dragon robe with horse-shoe cuffs. It is of tapestry weave (kesi) construction. The bodies of the dragons are woven with peacock-feather twisted threads. The twelve symbols signifying the authority and virtues of the emporer are incorporated in this robe. The nineth dragon is hidden under the lower flap.

An antique silk robe with very fine stitching and embroidery work. Colours are very vibrant. One of the mystery collector’s favourite pieces.
