I’m the author of a free theme called Femme Flora. Till now it was hosted on the Wordpress themes directory. However I received a message today:

“Themes from sites that offer or support non-GPL themes are not included in the directory. As a result your theme has been suspended from the directory.”

Cool. So what happens if the adsense ad on your site promotes a non-GPL theme? And while we are at it, the job of the reviewer is to review themes, but these guys are reviewing my site too. Moral policing I must say.

I believe for their fanatic ideas, we should stop support using their software/products/services. What good is “their” GPL if it doesn’t support the spirit of freedom?

I don’t care if my theme is listed or not.

I agree that themes are dealt more seriously than plugins.
Most Adsense plugins(Easy adsense by manoj thulasidas for eg.) share 5% impressions as default.
Copy pretect adds link to blog footer with no option to remove or make it no follow.
& many more..

Still they exist on list.

“Wordpress wants designers who love designing for wordpress”. Not those who create for back links.

I appreciate your effort on creating fresh theme. I am using it.

hi there– i just downloaded your theme and am excited to try it out. question…i’m creating new pages and do not want the date, tags, etc. to be visible. i would like it to look like an actual ‘about’ page rather than a post. how would i make these changes? thanks so much!

been a victim too, I cleaned everything only to realize that the file was hidden as a .flv file, the last thing I suspected eeeeekk!!!

@Harm Unfortunately, I am not sure as I had a lot of extensions installed.
