Our UFO (unidentified failures and outages) creature proved very skilled at luring unsuspecting earthlings into the Ixia booth. Once trapped by the UFO, they stayed for the vintage sodas, to try their luck at the wheel of DDOS attack, and of course to learn about Ixia products! Many thanks to the UFO for helping spread the word about Ixia.

Good network monitoring starts with having full visibility into all your production network data, from your physical to your virtual networks. But it doesn’t end there. Far from it.

When you use a network monitoring switch – also known as a network packet broker – to offload the mechanics of juggling network traffic from your monitoring tools, you empower each tool to see more and do more of what it’s good at. And you’ve set yourself up for more top-down control, like being able take action on where your traffic goes with a high-degree of precision.

I had the great pleasure to attend the RSA show in San Francisco from Feb 25th to 28th. Ixia was well represented at the show with an excellent booth and many great presentations across the Ixia solutions. Apart from Ixia’s booth I was impressed with the size and diversity of vendors at the show, from large corporations to small along with some exciting new players. Traditional security technologies such as SIEM, Malware Analysis, and Antivirus are maturing, while newer technologies such as cloud, SDN, and NGFW are making their presence felt.
