October 4th, 2022: St. Francis' College, Anuj's high school, awarded two scholarships in his honor on the school's 137th anniversary aka Patron's Day held virtually this year. This is the 13th consecutive year that the scholarships have been awarded.

Recipients include:

1) Joyjeet Banerjee: Anuj Mohan Scholarship for Best Student

2) Parv Mahajan: Anuj Mohan Scholarship for Ranking 1st in Grade 10

We as a family are proud for not just helping these young talents embark on a journey towards bright futures, but also to keep both Anuj's legacy and dream alive.

2022: Holi: Festival of Colors

Holi the colorful festival was always a big tradition in our family. Festivities began days in advance where the house was decorated, Pujas were performed and most importantly sweets and playing colors were bought. On the actual day of Holi, Anuj used to wake up early to fill his water gun with all sorts of colored water and be prepared for the festivities. As the tradition goes, people go from house to house wishing and greeting each other “Happy Holi” while putting color on each other and sharing sweets. Anuj always being full of joy and enthusiasm did the same as he went around with Neal and his friends playing Holi for hours. By the end of the day he used to always be drenched in colored water, have his face painted in an array of colors and already finished nearly a dozen sweets. Anuj loved playing Holi and sharing the love and happiness that the festival is a celebration of. Below are a few images of Anuj along with the family during the many Holis celebrated in India.

1st Anuj Mohan Memorial Scholarship Awarded at MIT

The Mohan Family is excited to share that the 1st Annual Anuj Mohan Memorial Scholarship for the academic year 2021-22 has been awarded to a very deserving incoming freshman at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

As most folks are aware, Anuj (class of '98 & '99) was a proud alum of MIT and truly cherished the time he spent at this great institution. For him, MIT was not just a university that help him continue his pursuit of higher education but it also became a place where he found lifelong friends and made priceless memories with them all. And for us, his family, these memories shared by his friends through the years has helped provide comfort and ease the pain of his loss.

Malcom X once said, "Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today." A student of life, Anuj was a staunch believer that there is no bigger gift in life than the gift of education. We as a family cannot be more proud and honored to have had the opportunity to establish the Anuj Mohan Memorial Fund at MIT which will bring together Anuj's love for education and giving and keeps his legacy alive in perpetuity.

Before concluding this post, we do want to take a minute to also thank all the hundreds of folks who supported the creation of the scholarship through your support. Anuj did not only make our lives a little better in the short time we all got to spend with him but his impact will not continue to live on in perpetuity through the students that get to live their dreams and accomplish great feats through the small support of the scholarship established in his memory.

The colorful festival of Holi has an ancient origin and is celebrated as the triumph of good over evil. It also bridges the social gap and renews sweet relationships. Holi is a harvest celebration marking the climax of spring. Bonfires are lit the night before, following which, people have fun by throwing colored powder and colorful water, dancing and wishing each other well by giving a hug. Holi was undoubtedly one of Anuj’s favorite festivals.

2018 Anuj Mohan Scholarship Awarded

Names of winners as published in the 2018 Yearbook

The Mohan family is once again glad to announce the winners of the 2018 Anuj Mohan Scholarship awarded annually at his high school, St. Francis' College. The celebrations occur on October 4th of every year and honor the founding of the school back in 1885. It was the 133rd occurrence of the event this year. The two winners for the 8th annual Anuj Mohan Scholarship for the year 2017 include:

1) Kirti Kumar Sawhney for being the 'Best Student' in 12th grade

2) Vardhan Mittal for securing the highest marks in ICSE Exams that take place in 10th grade

This time of year is always bitter sweet for all loved ones. While on one hand, we are once again reminded of void left by Anuj, yet we are also contended to welcome newest members of Anuj's family who will further his legacy for generations to come.
