And here is Aarush's early birthday surprise gift - Where next, teddy?? His birthday is on 12th of May, and he will be 5, so planning for some informative and interactive gifts for him this time. It is really important to set them a habit of reading everyday as it plays a huge impact and influence with the kids view things. And the most important thing is making read enjoyable. I have never thought of making a personalized book for Aarush but I am really thankful to Chapterful for sharing the idea.

Chicken Achaar

Have you ever tried to cook something and ended up with making something else?

Yes it happened to me. Hubby was craving for some chicken roast and we bought this 2 Whole chicken. Marinated and put it in the oven. And later on we wondered why we put 2 whole chicken (we only ate half, and one n half was still there in oven). Pheeewwww and what to do with remainings now? Then i thought of making this chicken achaar (pickle). I have never made this, so i searched youtube and found yummy food world recipe for ''masu ko achaar''. I little modified it and made it. Here you go and enjoy :)

All you need is:

Mustard & fenugreek seeds
Garam masala powder
Chilli Powder
Sichuan pepper
Asafoetida powder
Salt
Thin cut ginger n garlic
Turmeric powder
Lemon juice
Green fresh chilli
Chicken (I used pulled oven roasted chicken and pan fried it for 15 minutes till it was kind of crispy)

Method

Heat the pan, put some oil.

Add fenugreek n mustard seeds (let them sparkle)

Add asafoetida, turmeric powder and garam masala.

Then add ginger, garlic and chilli.

After few seconds put chicken.

Then add salt, chilli powder, sichuan powder and lemon juice.
Cook for few more mintue and its ready..

Enjoy.

Ps i am not good at writing :)

This can be later stored in dry jar and can be used for 1 week.

Pizza Express Pizza Making Party

So this week was a bit exciting for not only me, but for my kid also because we have attended pizza making party with Pizza Express. Yeah!!

Visiting pizza express is always a great idea and it's even better when you get a chance to roll the dough, add your favourite fresh ingredients, add some cheesy cheese and make your own choice of pizza. Recently I have visited newly revamped pizza express in Westfield, White City which had a magnificent makeover with a new stylish look. The revamped pizza express draws heavy inspiration from White City Stadium's illustrious history with the Olympic Games, has a exciting new colour scheme, smart new banquette and booth seating and a pendant lighting.

We were welcomed with a glass of prosecco and dough balls / kids with glass of apple juice. I meet lovely other bloggers and its always exciting to meet new people and share the experience together. After few sips we were invited on the floor by our teacher (i must say) Gosha and Daniel. We all have our own station of pizza making where we started rolling the dough (not an easy job though). They taught us all step by step process. It was really fun moment and hardwork too :)

Then next step was to add tomato paste and all the flavours of our choice. We have two pizzas. Lucky us. So we added all our favourite toppings. Olives, mushrooms, onions, bell peppers, chicken, spinach, jalapenos and loads of cheese. I cheated on aarush telling that green thing (spinach) is most important topping of pizza. If you don't put that topping, they will not give you pizza :) Sorry aarush mama have to lie sometimes ... for a good cause.

So here we are bunch of good people showing off our pizza.

Well overall it was really good experience, starting from the scratch, adding up your own toppings, learning all the basic knowledge about pizza making and improving your cooking skills. All thanks to our teacher Gosha and Daniel and of course Pizza Express for inviting us.

Ditch Sugar Week : Day 2

Well its day 2 today. Don't want to talk much and straightly showing you up what breakfast i eat today.

Here it is rolled oats with scramble eggs.

And this is how we make it.

Heat the pan with very little oil. Add a bit chopped onion and 2 eggs.

After that add some crushed chillies, turmeric, pinch of salt and black pepper.

Toss everything together.

Then add small cup of rolled oats.

And lastely add some lemon.
Taah Daah
And its all ready.

Well, for a long time i was planning to detox my body. As i am a little bit sweet tooth, it was really hard for me to do that. And on top of that i have very very sweet tooth 4 year old kid as well whose cupboard is almost full with chocolates and biscuits. So whenever he asked something i too joined with him, like i used to munch 2-3 oreos with him, sip some juice from his pouch. And guess what, after having 1 year old baby, i again started to look like a pregnant lady.

One day all of a sudden I saw Shilpa Shetty doing #ditchsugarchallange for 3 weeks. And then I decided, I will also do this at least start with the 1 day challenge. And continue accordingly. So its just day 2 today. I am proud that i have done it for 1 day. LOL :) So this is a breakfast i had yesterday.

This plate contains:

3 scrambled eggs on very little oil
4 cherry tomato
1 avocado

Gobi Paratha

I never cook cauliflower curry because each time i make it, it taste horrible. I mean seriously non of the garam masala helps me out to make one perfect cauliflower curry. But i do make it everytime ... bruuhhh ... but this time i plan to try something else with that cauliflower. And yes it was the one ... gobi da paratha :)

And trust me it was so tasty. This was the first time i was trying some stuffed paratha and that taste of cauliflower with spoonfull of butter just melted in my mouth. I will surely make it again with some different veggies and will post. So stay tuned.

Until then enjoy gobi paratha.

All you need is

Multigrain flour
cauliflower
onion
cumin seeds
carom seeds
salt
coriander
chilli
oil
black pepper
turmeric powder
garam masala

Firstly wash cauliflower and grate them. And you can grate one onion at same time.

After that you can add coriander leaves, chilli, garam masala, carom seeds, cumin seeds, turmeric powder, black pepper and salt.

After that you can leave it for at least 10-20 minute. It will release some water. Then you can squeeze it out and transfer to another bowl.

so now you can take your dough and just roll it with your hand leaving a bit thick in between and thin by side. You can either roll it or make it by your hand. And put mixed masala in between.

The process is same like momo. You can just close it like you wrap your momo.

And then roll it. Here you should be more careful. Remembe to squeez all of the water else it won't roll properly and it will stick all over.

Place it on the medium heat pan. Flip it evenly and add some no guilt spoonful of ghee or butter of your choice and enjoy.

Fermented Pickle

Its been so long that I have not visited Nepal.

There are so many good food that i miss so much and khalpi achaar is one of them. Khalpi achaar is made from mature cucumber. In london i visited so many shops for mature cucumber but could not find it. Lastly I made my own version of khalpi with substitute of watermelon. I am making this third time. Yes upper part is lil bit harder then mature cucumber but it will satisfy your cravings for khalpi. Here it is. Enjoy

All you need is

Mustard seeds
Turmeric powder
Garam masala
Salt
Chilli Powder
Onion Seeds
Mustard oil
Fresh chilli
Fenugreek seeds

Firstly, dry roast fenugreek seeds and mustard seeds. And crush them.
In a bowl put watermelon chunks.
Then add all the ingredients. (mustard seeds, turmeric powder, garam masala, salt, onion seeds, chilli powder and crushed roasted fenugreek/mustard seeds.
Add some mustard oil and fresh chilli.

Add some dry green peas. Its not necessary but i love when it is soaked up in those tasty flavour water coming from pickle.

and its done. It will be ready in 1 week.

WaiWai Stirfry

I am not a chef, I just love cooking and share my food stories to all of my followers.

Well wai wai is an all time favourite snacks among all the nepalese people. And its my favourite too. It can be cooked in so many ways. We can munch it straight from the packet. We can stirfry it. We can make a soup. And it taste awesome each time :)

Yesterday I made this quick and easy wai wai noodles stirfry. And it was super delicious.
Less than 15 minutes and its ready ...
Give a try and Enjoy ..

INGREDIENTS

1 Packet waiwai
2 baby pak choi
1/2 cup boiled kidney beans
1 tbsp soysauce
Finely chopped coriander

METHOD

Boil wai wai, drain.
Heat the pan, drizzle some oil and fry your noodles.
Add kidney beans and cook for 1-2 minutes.
Add pak choi and cook another 1 minute.
Add soysauce.
Add all the seasoning powder from wai wai packet.
Garnish with coriander.

Done .. Hope you like it.

Getting some #oilatum bath.

He is on #topicalsteriodwithdrawal which means i completely stopped using steriods medicine on his face from last 4 days. Gone through many searches over internet and came to know, if you completely stop using steriod, your eczema will fade away between 6 -24 months of time. I know its loooong period of time and in between eczema would get even worse, i will try to stay strong and so will my baby.

All the best for us. We want to kill this #eczema !!

Plum khatti mithhi

I am too much of achar (pickle) person. I can eat it as much as i can, at any time :) Thankfully I just found a cheap deal for these plum so I decided to make some sweet and sour one. This pickle is so delicious that I finished it before even posting in my blog :)

Ingredients:

1 kg plum

3/5 tablespoon oil

Bit of ground spices as per your choice (cumin, fenugreek, mustard, fennel are my fav)

2-4 dry whole chilli

1/2 teaspoon black onion seeds

Salt, turmeric and sugar according to your choice.

Instruction:

1. Mash the plum in a bowl ( do not remove the seed, let it be there as it will taste awesome when cooked)

2. Place the saucepan in medi heat put some oil and add all the ground spices.

3. When the spices starts sparkling add whole chilli and onion seeds as well.

4. Now add the mashed plum, increase the heat and add salt n tumeric.

5. Let it boil over for 7/10 minute until it is smooth aftet that we can add sugar accordingly. You can add up your own choice of spices like chilli powder, nutmeg, bay leaf etc.

6. Now turn of the heat and rest until cold. Pour it in the bottle and put it in the fridge.

That's it. Isn't that easy !! So what are you waiting for .. Grab the ingredients and start making :)

चिसो छिटो बडेकोले बारीमा रोपेको टमाटरहरु कुहिदै गएको देख्दा दिक्क लाग्यो । के गर्ने होला यती मेह्नातले रोपेको टमाटरहरु खेर जाने भयो भनेर सोच्दै बसे, तर फेरी उहिले खै कस्कोमा हो याद चाँही छैन तर साह्रै मिठो काँचो टमाटरको अचार खाएको थिए । त्यही स्वाद ठय्याकै याद आयो । अब यो टमाटरलाई यतिकै कुहिन दिनु भन्दा अचार हाल्न बेस हुन्छ भन्न ठानेर बारीमा गएर मजाले टमाटर टिपेर ल्याए अनी अचार हाले । निक्कै नै मिठो र स्वादिलो लाग्यो, आँफै बनाएर पनि हो कि । त्यही बेलामा क्यामरा पनि छेउमै भएको कारण मसला हाले पिछे फोटो खिच्दै गए ।

१. पहिले बारीमा भएको दुबै काँचो र पाकेको टिपेर ल्याए ।

२. त्यस पछी टमाटरलाई राम्ररी धोइ पखाली गरे ।

३. टमाटरलाई सानो सानो पारेर काटे ।

४. त्यसमा स्वाद अनुसार नुन, बेसार र मसला हाले ।

Black-and-white as a description is also something of a misnomer, for in addition to black and white most of these media included varying shades of gray. Early days photographers really does not have any other choice rather than using Black and White photography. Then market got introduced with color photogrpahy... But still the trend of B n W photography is going on and on.

Black and white portraits have an entirely different impact than color ones. When color is removed we are allowed to see into the subject, to really get a sense of emotion more so than if it were color.

Oil Pipelines Explosion : China

Worst Flooding : Pakistan

It is only the start of the monsoon season, but already Pakistan is experiencing some of the worst flooding it has seen in over 80 years. Entire villages have been washed away, an early estimate of over 1,600 deaths so far and over 2 million displaced or otherwise affected.

Toxic Red Sludge : Hungary

On Monday, October 4th, a large reservoir filled with toxic red sludge in western Hungary ruptured, releasing approximately 700,000 cubic meters (185 million gallons) of stinking caustic mud, which killed many animals, at least four people, and injured over 120 - many with chemical burns.

7.7 Magnitude Earthquake : Indonesia

Indonesia was rocked by two separate disasters earlier this week - a 7.7-magnitude earthquake triggered a tsunami on Monday that swept onto the Mentawai Island chain in western Indonesia, and less than 24 hours later and a few hundred miles away, Mount Merapi erupted multiple times, unleashing searing pyroclastic flows that destroyed villages and blanketed the countryside in ash.

Wildfire : Israel

December 5th, Israeli authorities said that they had finally gained control of a raging four-day wildfire in the Carmel Forest near the city of Haifa, Israel. The fire was the worst in Israel's history, consuming about 10,000 acres of forest and about four million trees.

Floods and Mudslides : Brazil

Last week, a series of flash floods and mudslides struck the Serrana mountain region near Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, destroying buildings roads and more. Nearly 14,000 people are now homeless, 759 are reported to have been killed and another 400 remain missing in this, Brazil's worst-ever natural disaster.

Seasonal flooding across eastern Australia has been widespread and devastating this spring - their wettest on record.

Devastating Earthquake : New Zealand

With hundreds still missing, and 75 already confirmed dead, rescuers struggled to find survivors on the second night after a devastating earthquake struck Christchurch, New Zealand's second largest city Tuesday.

8.9 Magnitude Earthquake : Japan

An 8.9-magnitude earthquake hit off the east coast of Japan March 11th. The quake -- one of the largest in recorded history -- triggered a 23-foot tsunami that battered Japan's coast, killing hundreds and sweeping away cars, homes, buildings, and boats.

Icelandic eruption

Barely a year after a similar eruption in Iceland forced the biggest closure of European airspace since World War II, the eruption of the Grimsvotn volcano, under the Vatnajokull glacier in southeast Iceland on May 21, 2011 has caused hundreds of travel delays.

"Let's Fall In Love Again" is the word that strikes my mind when I see these photographs. They just make me feel so happy and relaxed. Here in London, life is all busy. I hardly can manage to take my camera out and do some photography here. All of these shots are taken back in Nepal.The ladybug shot is taken in Kathmandu, the other one is taken in Koshi River during the flood time back some years ago. And the shot of the birds are taken in Kathmandu again.
