I caught his bug and started to think along the lines of *anything is possible* for a while, planning the garden around MY Eglu until reality took hold and I realised that there was no way I was going to be able to afford a new one and second hand Eglus are umm like umm hen’s teeth in this part of the world and although there are plenty in England through eBay they are all listed as Pick Up Only due to the sheer weight and size of them.

Soooo, when the FREE CINEMA TICKETS EVERY MONTH FOR TWO YEARS arrived in the form of a pass, My Assistant and I decided that really none of our clients would like the pass as freebies, no one else in my family could go to the listings as they are in the wrong town and dude, I save SO much on fuel now by travelling with Iain every day that I can now afford the odd night out at the movies and it would be RUDE not to use them up.

We found the nest by accident last week while POWER WASHING the BBQ and were so worried that the mummy would have abandoned the nest with all the activity around it but but I sat in the green house for about 30 minutes and watched both the mum and dad bringing loads of food for the chicks.

The pilot was incredibly chatty, explaining that someone hadn't grasped the "rocket science that is *getting to the gate on time*" and why we had to wait for their bags to be off loaded before we could go anywhere, giving weather reports, traffic reports ("I had a good look at the motorway traffic over Belfast") and general traffic advice ("If I were you I would give the motorway a miss and seek an alternative route") and by the time we taxied in to position I was still asleep enough to be thinking "Just drive Fly-Boi and less of the chat."

There was a moment during the dancing at the end of the evening when the DJ had everyone doing "Rock The Boat" where I watched Rosemary totally throw herself in to the actions and I remembered the girl I knew years ago - the one with the real sense of fun who energised everyone around her and I teared up at the thought of not having been part of her life for so long.

The check up itself took less than 20 minutes but as is the way of these things, it took a full day away from normal life to go and collect her, drive to the hospital, find a parking space, wait in the um waiting area and then do every thing in reverse when she was finished.

When Iain got home with the printer I tried setting it up again but it is still only printing blank pages out from this Powerbook so I gave up and started some other stuff - knowing I had loads to do for tomorrow - then jumped out of my skin when Jessica started to wail - that child can scream for Ulster - she had slipped in the sock-soles and fallen badly on her elbow and hip - we thought she had chipped a bone in her elbow and contemplated going to hospital with her - but almost an hour of sitting cuddling with me and she started to brighten up.

For the life of me I can not find how to magically re-install all my favourites in Transmit - I just have to add them as I need them - I only had about 9 or 10 of them and the forums say that you have to export before you can import (NetNewsWire used the latest .plist) but as I don't have access to the old version to export in the first place it is back to the good old "adding as I need them" version.

My friend Christine, who has horses, was very much into the teachings of Monty Roberts and told me about his life, about how he applied his techniques of training horses to children too, he and his wife fostered 47 children beside their own 3 and I know that many of them were "hard-to-reach" children who benefitted from Monty's motto of "Leaving the world a better place than he found it, for horses and for people. . ."

I remember someone telling me - might have been an art teacher or similar - in fact - it could have been one of the first photography teachers we had - that someone who had no knowledge of the written English language was taken around a city to see the sights and gasped in amazement at the beauty of some of the graffiti - not realising it wasn't art.

During this time, and the fact that we lived in the country with cows in the field in front of us and cows in the fields behind us and that the farm two fields away was a dairy farm where I went to help out a few times (help out as in *trespassing until someone gave me a job to get rid of me*) with the milking and saw the cows being connected to the milking machines and when their teats clogged I saw Mrs Taylor unclogging them with a big darning needle that she kept in a jar of methylated spirits, I learned a little about cows.

On Sunday we did a very touristy thing - we went to Hadrian's Wall Country and visited an excavation site at Vindolanda which was hard to get into because we had to fight our way past the guy on the door and had to plead with him to take money off us (in that he talked a lot about the options we had!).

Just by chance we found ourselves on a beach with no swimming costumes or towels but we HAD thought to biy a second set of nets this time so Iain went off with the kids to the rock pools and Jacqui and I lay in the sand burning away to ourselves and getting sand in places that only a shower would be able to remove.

Bearing in mind that €109 was still far cheaper than €160 and that it was now nearly 11pm and the kids were dog tired and WE WERE THERE and not moving another inch, I pushed it a little and asked him if he would throw in breakfast for that too - we compromised at €119 for room, surcharge and breakfast and were still miles ahead of the €160.

I went to put something in the bin but it was overflowing so I went to empty it but I had no shoes on so has to wait for Iain to stop trimming the hedge so he could hear me asking him to take the black bin bag that was threatening to rip . . . when that was gone I had to wash the bin and the swing lid, but there were dishes in the sink to be washed but the dish washer was full of clean dishes so I had to empty the dishwasher before I could put the - oh - stop - I had to get Jessica a drink of milk - dirty dishes in the machine, before I could make lunch - wash the bin out, put the lunch dishes in the machine too, put the new bin bag in, put the lid on. . . .

I had to pick Jessica up from school, I had to take a disc of photos to the printers, I had to take Jessica out for a girly lunch (it is Red Nose Day and she is in her gorgeous red velvet dress that you have seen her wearing in a previous post), I had to wait for the photos to be printed, I had to rush back to pick David up from school, then I was going to deliver the photos to work where I was going to phone my 3 sets of customers to tell them the proofs were ready, I was then going to go shopping because there never seems to be any food in this house.

I am actually considering getting business cards made up that I can hand to shop assistants who say stupid things, slip under the window wipers of inconsiderately parked cars, press into the hands of people who make me laugh so hard that my tummy hurts, hand them to my own children when they say something cute, leave them behind on the coffee table when I have visited a friend's house that I love and find they have entertained me yet again . . . . in fact - I may need more than 500 printed - the posibilities are endless. . . .
