Ford Philippines Brings Ford Island Conquest To Davao

DAVAO CITY, Philippines, 16 October 2019 – Ford Philippines is bringing its experiential test drive event to Davao to reach more customers and make them experience driving a Ford vehicle on a customized driving course.

The Ford Island Conquest will make its way to Davao at the Parking D, North Wing Ground, SM Lanang Premier on October 25-27, 2019. The test drive event will be from 9:00am to 9:00pm. Entrance is free and refreshments will be provided.

Customers can check out the Ford EcoSport, Ranger Wildtrak 4x4, Ranger Raptor, and New Everest on display. On the other hand, they can drive the Ranger Wildtrak 4x4, Ranger Raptor, and New Everest Titanium 4x4 on an immersive drive track.

PRISAA National Games 2019 is all set in Davao City

PRISAA NATIONAL GAMES an annual, week long competition participated by more or less 10,000 delegates coming from 500 private universities and colleges from 17 regions all over the Philippines.

A competition in more than 18 Olympic sports having its biggest collegiate national game of private schools coming from different regions.

PRISAA 2019 will be held here in Davao City on May 19 to 25, 2019.

President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, PSC Chairman William "Butch" Ramirez, showbiz and sports celebrities will be invited to grace the opening of the PRISAA National Games 2019.

Officials from Commission on Higher Education of 17 regions, National Sports Association and the commissioners of the Philippine Sports Commission will also present during the event. Other national government and different officials of LGUs of the Davao Region are also enjoined to participate during the Opening Ceremonies.

It's great feeling to know that someone is always going to support us in anything we choose to do. It alleviates much of the stress knowing that someone will come along in making decisions.

Same with our Pharmacists, before they're just a mere salesman/woman(tindira) in a Pharmacy Stores. But they have a great influence for several reasons, they support us, gives advice, in every decision we make they showed us compassion especially in handling of medicines. They inspire and taught us the proper use of medications by looking at Doctors prescriptions.

UNLEASHING THE POWER IN YOU

In Davao City, 4000 pharmacists gathered for the Philippine Pharmacists Association, Inc. (PPhA) 2019 National Convention held at the Davao City Convention and Trade Center (DAVCON) and SMX Convention Center.

It was a five-day convention activities.

April 30-May 1, a trade exhibits happened at the DAVCON which highlight the leading programs by pharmacists that contribute to the upholding standards of antimicrobial stewardship, rational use of medicines and medication adherence. Health promotion initiatives by pharmacists which addresses risk factors of diseases was also presented.

There was a forum for the PPhA National Board and Heads of local chapters and affiliate organizations.

A global address is set to rise at Davao's new center of progress transforming the old Matina Golf Club into The Address of Amazing - the Davao Global Township (DGT).

Titled and landed family from Davao has partnered with the leading developer in the Visayas-Mindanao region to transform a 22-hectare golf course into Davao City's iconic business district.

The Davao City Government has partnered with Globe Business, the enterprise information and communications technology (ICT) arm of Globe Telecom, for the use of the G Suite office collaboration tool to boost team productivity and further enhance delivery of public service.

Members of the well-established Villa-Abrille family are heirs of Juna Villa-Abrille, among the premier city's pioneer residents and one of the biggest landholders in Davao City. Juna was a trader, a large scale abaca planter who acquired a strategic landbank in Matina when a resident fleeing trouble in Mindanao sold him the property. His children eventually turned parcels of that property into a residential subdivision and Davao's first golf course. THE PARAGON DAVAO

Nearby is the mixed-use The Paragon Davao, which is developing in partnership with Davao Filandia Realty Corp. and Yuson Strategic Holdings Inc. under the joint venture YHES Inc. The project is expected to help pump-prime economic activity in southeastern Davao City where Davao Global Township is also located. The Paragon Davao's first phase, with an estimated cost of P2.6 billion, will house a 26-storey residential tower to be named One Paragon Place; a 263-room Citadines Paragon Davao to be managed by The Ascott Limited - one of the world's leading lodging owner-operators; The Paragon Davao Convention Center; and The Paragon Davao Lifestyle Mall.

CLI's partners said in previous statements that they have been approached by other developers but chose the Cebu-based listed real estate company because of its keen feel of the VisMin market. This is evidenced, they pointed out, by the quick take-up of their first joint venture projects together in the city - the MesaTierra Garden residences in Davao-which is now 96-percent sold.

‘Women in Action’ takes spotlight with Dabawenya Actress Erich Gonzales' action flick

Action packed movies with strong female leads are the most trending movies in the film industry today, the likes of BUYBUST of Anne Curtis and WE WILL NOT DIE TONIGHT starring Erich Gonzales.

Leading ladies that we idolize and wish we could be a little more like them.

So often, the gender inequality in film is understated that it goes fairly unnoticed. But it's an undeniable truth that movies which feature a strong led independent female character (which is not just as a foil of romance or love interest for the male lead) aren't exactly in abundance. So when we do get to watch movies like WE WILL NOT DIE TONIGHT, we will surely cherish, and I'm sure you're going to watch it over and over again, and tend not to forget the inedible characters which no doubt have shaped our own decisions as women.

Directed by Richard Somes, the movie is Erich Gonzales' first foray into the action genre, she also one of the film's co-producers.

The action film "WE WILL NOT DIE TONIGHT" starred by Dabawenya actress Erich Gonzales will have two special screenings at the 16^th Mindanao Film Festival (MFF) in Davao City at Gaisano Mall of Davao Cinema 6. The film screenings are organized by the MFF together with the JCI Davaoeña Daba-Daba, this will be on December 8, 7:30pm will be graced by the presence of film director Richard Somes and actor Paolo Paraiso who plays the film's main antagonist and December 9, 4:30pm.

Part of the proceeds from the screenings will be for JCI Davaoeña's Share A Joy Year 7 beneficiaries.

"We have lots of women filmmakers here in the region and they also are women-in-action, it takes a lot of guts and hard work in making films, in fact our opening film KAUYAGAN is made by a lady filmmaker from Cagayan de Oro, Julienne Ilagan," Alama said.

This year's 16^th Mindanao Film Festival is the largest ever in the history of the MFF with 107 films from across Mindanao and some overseas selections. These films will be screened during the week-long festival slated December 5-11 at Gaisano Mall Cinema 6.

The program aim to showcase "Katawhang Lumad" or the Indigenous People, recognizing the right to basic education that is culturally rooted and responsive help them engage with other tribes in localizing, indigenizing, and enhancing the K to 12 Curriculum based on their respective educational and social contexts leading to sustainable community engagement which guarantees the meaningful participation of indigenous communities.

Division of Davao Occidental urges the strengthening of the IP Education and developing and implementing an IP Education Programs like IPEd SUMMIT and PANAGHIUSA FESTIVAL. Davao City in #Kadayawan Day 9 #TeamDDI

On our third to eight day celebrating Kadayawan Festival, Kadayawan Warriors from the Davao Digital Influencers had to get up early to cover all of the events: TUNOG KADAYAWAN, ZUMBA SA KADAYAWAN, SAYAW KADAYAWAN, KOSPLAY KADAYAWAN (Pre-screening), KADAYAWAN BALL, HABI KADAYAWAN, DULA KADAYAWAN and PAHALIPAY SA KADAYAWAN by PARTNERS. All members have limited availability and all are signed up in advance.

I signed up on the 9th day, that is INDAK-INDAK SA KADAYAWAN and KOSPLAY KADAYAWAN.

The Indak-Indak was scheduled at 7AM, everyone was pretty much ready at 5AM.

After a quick breakfast, me together with my daughter and my #TeamDDI colleagues were off to streets of downtown Davao starting at Roxas Avenue.

The Indak-Indak is one of the highlights of the 10-day Kadayawan Festival, the name basically means "STREET DANCING" which depicts the rich heritage of Davao City and the 11 tribes.

Plus, an added highlight to this event is the KOSPLAY KADAYAWAN. For the first time, the Kadayawan organizers hold this year a Kosplay (Cosplay) or Costume Play wherein the participants are encourage to unleash their creativity and get inspiration from the city's icon, the Philippine Eagle.

I watch many cultural presentations, but what more interesting about Indak-Indak sa Kadayawan is the use of unique Mindanaoan dance choreography, costumes, and accessories, same as with the Kosplay Kadayawan. I was just ecstatic to see the whole parade, watching the competing contingents from Davao City and outside Davao Region.

It was an extravagant opening of Kadayawan Day 1.

After the fun and exciting first day, #TeamDDI (Davao Digital Influencers Inc.) the Official Social Media Partner of Kadayawan 2018 is ready for day 2 activities, starting with the Kadayawan Dragon Boat held at the Sta. Ana Pier, Davao City.

There are 20 teams comes from Manila, Cebu City, Surigao City, Iligan City, IGACOS and Davao City competing for the Dragon Boat. It has five categories which include the open standard boat, mixed standard boat, women small boat, open small boat and mixed small boat. The boats donated from Manila last year was used during the competition.

The Philippine National Police bags two gold medals while Kujaw Dragons and Polilo Dragons take one gold medal each in the first day of the 2nd Kadayawan Dragon Boat Festival.

The defending champion PNP Team A (Manila based) retained its title of 400-meter open small category by checking in at 1:44.98, racing with the PNP Team B 1:46.22, United Paddlers Club 1:48.23 and Davao City's Dragon Warriors 1:58.01 which occupied the next three places in the finals.

Next stop is the Grand Coronation of Hiyas sa Kadayawan 2018, held at the Filoil V Event Center (formerly the RMC Gym).

The gym was already filled to the rafters after an hour waiting, even us the Kadayawan social media partner have a hard time before we could find our seats, though they have designated place for the media the place is still too small for us considering other non-media taking our place. And there were very long queues outside even after the program has started.

Hiyas opening production number is so extravagant! The tribes representatives came in and each tribes showcase their best and give their smiles for their supportive fans.

The cheers coming from their families and friends were so loud and so fun to hear. I myself also shout and give my cheers and praises to all the 11 tribes - KAGAN, KLATA-GUIANGAN, MAGUINDANAON, MARANO, MATIGSALOG, ATA, SAMA, OVU-MANUVO, TAGABAWA, TAUSUG, IRANUN.

Hiyas sa Kadayawan are not judged based on beauty and poise unlike any other pageant, instead they are all judged based on how well they know and understand their owned culture, traditions and history.

In the end, this lass from the Kagan tribe was named 2018 Hiyas sa Kadayawan.

They say LIFE IS HERE in Davao, and we all agree - #Kadayawan day in our city is something pretty magic.

Magsaysay Park is alive with buzzing fruits, food, and people plunging into different scenery. Within the space is an exhibit of the Lumad and Moro people indigenous architecture replica houses, complete with accessories and other cultural materials, an idea as to the richness of the 11 tribes in Mindanao particularly in Davao. Visit Kadayawan Village now!

Taking advantage of the good weather and fresh air, the first day of the 33rd Kadayawan Festival begins with a lot of openings - from SUBANG SINUGDANAN and PANAGTAGPO to the PANANAM FOOD HALL opening at Magsaysay Park, there was lots to see. In the evening, the Talent Presentation of the HIYAS SA KADAYAWAN set the highlights of the event for day 1.

SUBANG SINUGDANAN (Tribal Fluvial Parade) and PANAGTAGPO (Tribal Convergence) a yearly reenactment on how the 11 tribes of Davao City make a living, where they traded or bartering goods in PADIAN or the market place in the earlier.

They presented cultural dances and music, living in harmony. And presenting each tribes Deputy Mayor with their Hiyas sa Kadayawan candidates.

This should be held at the Bankerohan river because it basically started there, this time the event was not focus in cruising but in the convergence of the 11 tribes, that is why there is a change of venue instead of the river they choose Magsaysay Park.

#Kadayawan MISA PASASALAMAT officiated by Archbishop Romulo Geolina Valles, D.D followed after Subang Sinugdanan.

"Bigger, grander, with more events lined-up", said by Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio. Expressing her gratitude to all the sponsors, especially to the private sectors partners and to all the Dabawenyos who took part in the celebration.

After Pag-abli sa Kadayawan, PANANAM FOOD HALL was opened to the public. A showcase of the unique and delectable delicacies of the 11 tribes in the city. Food serve here are all HALAL (for our Moro Tribes).

This is still located inside Kadayawan Village, Magsaysay Park.

Monday, July 9, 2018 - Local Government of Davao City lead by Mayor Inday Sara Duterte-Carpio and Vice-Mayor Bernard Al-ag, Kadayawan Committee, Deputy Mayors of the city's 11 Tribes and its Private Partners together with the Media and Davao Digital Influencers Inc (Official Social Media Partner) have teamed up for the Media Launch of the 33rd Kadayawan Festival held at Marco Polo Hotel, Davao City.

The ten day, all inclusive music, dance, sports, beauty, food, partying and excitement takes place Friday through Sunday, August 10th-19th, 2018, at the different areas of Davao City.

Given this year budget, Kadayawan Festival increased to P44 million from P42 million last year with much bigger and exciting upcoming activities, dubbed as the "biggest Kadayawan Festival ever".

Kadayawan Festival is the perfect getaway for culture & nature aficionados, and who prefer to experience live music, food delicacy, and interact with the tribes at Kadayawan Village amidst the beautiful natural setting and serenity of living.

All are welcome to participate at no extra costs. The Kadayawan Village at Magsaysay is a great venue to bring your family and friends especially the kids, to educate and teach them to embrace Dabawenyos culture & tradition.

Summer is the perfect time to throw a party on the beach - a sensational summer beach bash that you will surely wouldn't miss this year.

This June 1 to 2, 2018, Summerfrolic will again be held at La-ne's Kalapyahan in Dahican Beach, Mati City, Davao Oriental.

The fifth staging of Summerfrolic features the best local DJs and musicians in the Philippines together with some international acts who will perform live on stage, providing beach-goers and tourists with heart-pumping beats of dance music. To celebrate the colors of summer, the event organizers will use color powder, paint, foam machines, water sprinkles to give participants the ultimate and colorful summer beach party experience.

Summerfrolic will showcase different sophisticated stage and light designs to keep participants in awe with different experiences every other year.

If you remember, Summerfrolic 2015 was themed as "The Summer Garden" with stage dimensions of over 50ft high and 150ft wide; Summerfrolic 2016 was even more sophisticated with the theme "Sunnie's Kingdom" with stage dimensions of almost 60ft high and 200ft high wide, the DJ stage/booth was inside Sunnie's (Summerfrolic Logo - Sun with a face) mouth; Summerfrolic 2017 was themed "Red Supernova" with 60ft high and 200ft wide staging made mostly of LED walls and lights. This year, Summerfrolic will be themed "Chromium Utopia".

Visit Davao Summer Festival continue its #longfest #widefest summer festival across Davao City.
