Motorola

2014-03-19T09:59:00.002+07:00

The wristwatch has been through several evolutions since it first became a popular fashion accessory more than a 100 years ago. From mechanical to electronic movements, analog to digital faces, the wristwatch has been reinvented several times over, but the basic design has endured for a century because of its elegance and usefulness ‘at a glance.’ Our vision for Moto 360 was to celebrate that history as we reimagined the wristwatch for the future.

How to Create an Instagram RSS Feed and 3 Ways it can Instantly Boost Traffic

2014-01-15T16:17:00.000+07:00

Officially Supported by Instagram:

Instagram makes it easy to create an RSS feed of any hashtag.

Step 1. Use this feed format: http://instagram.com/tags/HASHTAG/feed/recent.rss

Step 2. Replace “HASHTAG” with your desired hashtag. For example, the feed for the hashtag #dogs would be: http://instagram.com/tags/dogs/feed/recent.rss (note: the # symbol is intentionally left out).

A couple ideas: A travel or real estate agent could pull geo tags for specific cities or towns to display on their website. You could create a contest using a specific hashtag and display the results in a widget on your blog. Or if you are hosting an event, gather and display the pictures people tagged in real-time. The possibilities are endless. Webstagram, an Instagram web viewer, keeps track of the most popular hashtags on Instagram.

Unofficially…

What if you only want YOUR photos or images? Unfortunately, Instagram doesn’t support this but third parties using Instagram’s API have made it easy for you to do so.

Simply add your Instagram username (or any you want to follow) to the end of this URL: http://widget.stagram.com/rss/n/USERNAME

It will automatically create an RSS Feed of the images and videos you have on Instagram.

3 ways to boost traffic with your new Instagram RSS Feed:

Display on your blog. Instagram photos and videos on your blog. Check out these examples to help display your site:
Instapress is a plugin for WordPress.
SnapWidget works on any website.
Share on social. Add your Instagram feed to dlvr.it and share it on Twitter, Facebook, Google+ and more.
Boost SEO. Create a Storify or RebelMouse page to make your Photos and Videos visible and searchable.

Blue Ocean Strategy

2013-11-11T12:38:00.005+07:00

Blue Ocean Strategy

Harvard Business Review

(Value Innovation)

How To Install Android Market On Kindle Fire [Tutorial]

2011-11-18T00:23:00.001+07:00

Android Market is not available officially on the newly released Kindle Fire. Since Amazon released the source code for the Fire, however, the device had been rooted making it possible to add it anyway. Follow our step-by-step instructions and you’ll be well on your way to browsing the Market then installing apps and games right on your device!

Before we begin we would like to say the process is complex and not for the casual computer user. Rooting the device, moving and installing files, and installing a third party alternate launcher will be necessary. Read the entire instructions before you begin to determine if you can complete the entire process.
If you are ready to proceed then we can start. Make sure to root your Kindle Fire; we posted a friendly guide that guides you through the process. Once your device is rooted, come back to this page. It’s okay. We’ll wait.

Rooted? Great! Now download the following four files:

GoogleServicesFramework.apk (Download Link)
Vending.apk (Download Link)
Root Explorer App (Download Link) While this app is $3.99, you may try to find an alternative, as long as it allows you to change read only/read-write permissions.
Go Launcher EX (Download Link)

Now, on your Kindle device, navigate to Settings > Device. On this screen confirm that “Allow Installation of Application From Unknown Sources” is switched to the ON position.
Next, we’ll need to ensure you have activated Side Loading Apps on the Kindle Fire. You may have already accomplished this task when you first rooted your device but it’s always best to double check. If you’re sure they’re activated, skip ahead.
Do this on your PC by following these steps:

Navigate to Start > All Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt
Enter the following command: echo 0×1949 >> “%USERPROFILE%\.android\adb_usb.ini
Press the Enter key
On your Kindle Fire, navigate to Settings > Applications
Check off the Unknown Sources box.

If you are using a Mac, follow these steps:

Connect your Kindle Fire to your Mac
Open the following file: ~/.android/adb_usb.ini with notepad
Navigate to end of the file and add the following value: 0×1949
Save and close the file
Stop the ADB server with the following command: adb kill-server
Run the following command: adb devices
Your Kindle Fire should now be listed

Now your Kindle Fire is ready to go through the installation process. Follow these steps:

Transfer the two .apk files you have downloaded earlier and place them somewhere on your Kindle Fire.
Run Root Explorer and find the .apk files on your Kindle
Choose and install the GoogleServiceFramework.apk
Once completed, long-press on the Vending.apk until a small popup window appears, then choose Move
Navigate to System > App
RO will be selected here; change this option to RW
Paste the Vending.apk in this folder
Long-press on the Vending.apk until a small popup window appears, then choose Permissions
Modify the permissions so they are identical to the other apps in the same folder (RW-R-R)

10. Reboot
Now we’ll need to install a third party launcher. Here are the final steps:

Transfer the Go Launcher .apk to your somewhere on your Kindle Fire
Run Root Explorer and find the .apk file on your Kindle
Choose and install Go Launcher
Press the Home button
Select the Go Launcher program
Congratulations! The Android Market is now on your Kindle Fire.

While the installation process may seem lengthy and tedious, you may find value in the long run by having a larger selection of apps. Not all of them are available; we’ll have to wait for the developers to make them compatible. As always, tinkering with the inner workings of any device requires at least basic computer know-how. Use caution.

Top 10

2011-10-23T11:02:00.001+07:00

1. Xbox 720 in 2013?

Insiders are saying they're working on Microsoft's next-generation gaming console, and it's said to be called the Xbox 720, perhaps unveiling at E3 in 2013. Although the box's processors and graphics chips are allegedly well underway and in the hands of multiple developers, the outside of the Xbox 720 is not quite so well-defined. Take a look at this design concept of the industrial design of the box -- we're wondering if it wasn't left on our planet by visiting aliens.

2. Ice Cream Sandwich

Android 4.0 is now official. Affectionately known as Ice Cream Sandwich, Google's revamped its entire smartphone operating system, making it more customizable, its widgets resizable, improved its texting error correction and finally given it the ability to easily grab a screenshot by holding down the power and volume buttons. The first device to have the new operating system loaded will be the gorgeous Samsung Galaxy Nexus (pictured here), available in November.

3. Canon EOS 1D X

Look out, pro photographers, here comes the Canon 1D X, a digital SLR that points to the future of photography. Besides its $6,800 price tag, it brings along astonishing numbers, such as its ability to take 18-megapixel pics at 14 frames per second, and its mind-boggling low-light shooting capability (for you photography experts, its standard ISO range is 100 - 51,200, expanded to 204,800). It ships in March. [via Gizmodo]

4. DeLorean Returning in 2013 as an Electric Car

The gull-winged DeLorean is on its way back to the future -- 2013, that is. That's when you'll be able to buy one of the newest versions of DMC's gleaming classic conveyance, and this time it'll be all-electric. Details are scant so far, but it'll certainly travel faster than 88 miles an hour, with its 260hp electro-power plant blasting it to a top speed of 125mph. Its price will hover around $100,000, Mr. Fusion not included.

5. Motorola Droid Razr

Could smartphones get any thinner? That's going to be a challenge for competitors, because this Motorola Droid Razr is just 7.1mm thick. The $299.99 handset has a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, an 8-megapixel camera and a sharp 4.3-inch super AMOLED screen. Too bad it won't be sporting the new Ice Cream Sandwich operating system until "early 2012."

6. XtremeMac InCharge USB Wall Charger

If you're fed up with those clunky chargers Apple provides for iPhones, iPods and iPads, the XtremeMac InCharge USB Wall Charger is about as thin as an iPhone 4S, and its retractable plug makes it perfect for heavily-laden travelers. As you might've expected, design like this doesn't come cheap -- it's overpriced at an Apple-esque $29.99.

7. Aeroshots for a Caffeine Fix

Okay coffee lovers, if you're hoping to buy some of these shotgun-shell-like Aeroshots, that might be the first step to admitting you have a problem. These new caffeine delivery devices are not as serious as they look, though -- each cartridge delivers 100mg of caffeine in the form of 6 to 8 puffs of a fine powder. That's not that much, considering that a 16-ounce cup of Starbucks Pike Place coffee contains 330mg of caffeine. Weird.

8. Lytro Light Field Camera

We put this remarkable Lytro camera through its paces this week, and found it to be well-designed and fully capable of capturing pictures that let you shoot first and ask questions about focusing later. That viewscreen opposite its f/2 lens is tiny -- a mere 1.46 inches -- but imagine how small it would be if the camera itself were smaller? Now available for pre-order, Lytro hits the streets in early 2012 at prices starting at $399.

9. Pioneer Dance Crew Boom Boxes

This is not your daddy's boombox. These are aimed at dancers, but those hoofers had better be well-heeled because it'll cost them $229 for the Solo, $349 for the Duo and $499 for the Crew, with each containing progressively higher quality and bigger speakers. These fancy boomboxes let you adjust the tempo of a song without affecting its pitch, and they're smart enough to cue up similar songs to the one you're currently playing by analyzing your playlist.

10. Motorola MotoACTV

Motorola latest entry in the fitness game is the MotoACTV, an Android-based fitness device it calls "the ultimate fusion of fitness and music." It'll track your running with GPS, account for your time, distance, speed and calories burned and play your favorite songs all the while. It can even answer your phone and receive text messages. Rolling out Nov. 6, it'll sell for $249 for an 8GB model and $299 for 16GB.

Lytro camera hands-on

2011-10-20T14:16:00.001+07:00

ou knew Lytro was up to something, but with its infinite focus light-field powered camera out of the bag, how does it actually stack up in real life? In a word: novel -- you certainly won't be tossing your regular camera for this shooter, at least not in its current incarnation. Still the concept of shoot now, ask focus questions later is revolutionary, so hop on past the break for our initial impressions. http://www.engadget.com/2011/10/19/lytro-camera-hands-on-video/

Albert Szent-Gyorgyi

Discovery of Vitamin C

"overcome with such a mad desire to return to science that one day I grabbed my revolver and in my despair put a shot through my upper arm."

"I did not feel like eating it so I thought of a way out. Suddenly it occurred to me that this is the one plant I had never tested. I took it to the laboratory … [and by] about midnight I knew that it was a treasure chest full of vitamin C."

Pyjama Pants

2011-09-06T13:13:00.002+07:00

Pajamas, also spelled pyjamas (see also spelling differences), can refer to several related types of clothing. The original paijama are loose, lightweight trousers fitted with drawstring waistbands and worn in South and West Asia by both sexes.[1] In many English-speaking nations, pajamas are loose-fitting, two-piece garments derived from the original garment and worn chiefly for sleeping,[2] but sometimes also for lounging,[3] also by both sexes.[4] More generally, pajamas may refer to several garments, for both daywear and nightwear, derived from traditional pajamas and involving variations of style and material.
