To all of us Joe Public's we still rise in the morning go to work pay bills, eat sleep and go about our daily lifestyle and here we are being manipulated by politicians and big business for god sake stop it and let us get on with business now....

Albert Einstein once said, "We can't solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them."

This Story is about a man who once upon a time was selling Hotdogs by the roadside.
He was illiterate, so he never read newspapers.
He was hard of hearing, so he never listened to the radio.
His eyes were weak, so he never watched television.
But enthusiastically, he sold lots of hotdogs.
He was smart enough to offer some attractive schemes to increase his sales.
His sales and profit went up.
He ordered more and more raw material and buns and used to sell more.
He recruited a few more supporting staff to serve more customers.
He started offering home deliveries. Eventually he got himself a bigger and better stove.
As his business was growing, the son, who had recently graduated from College, joined his father.

Then something strange happened.
The son asked, “Dad, aren’t you aware of the great recession that is coming our way?”
The father replied, “No, but tell me about it.” The son said, “The international situation is terrible.
The domestic situation is even worse.. We should be prepared for the coming bad times.”
The man thought that since his son had been to college, read the papers, listened to the radio and watched TV.
He ought to know and his advice should not be taken lightly.
So the next day onwards, the father cut down his raw material order and buns, took down the colourful signboard, removed all the special schemes he was offering to the customers and was no longer as enthusiastic…
He reduced his staff strength by giving layoffs.
Very soon, fewer and fewer people bothered to stop at his hotdog stand.
And his sales started coming down rapidly, same is the profit.
The father said to his son, “Son, you were right”.
“We are in the middle of a recession and crisis. I am glad you warned me ahead of time.”

Moral of The Story: It’s all in your MIND! And we actually FUEL this recession much more than we think we do!!

What can we take away from this story??

1. How many times we confuse intelligence with good judgment?

2. Choose your advisers carefully but use your own judgment

3. A person or an organization will survive forever, if they have the 5 Cs

Character
Commitment
Conviction
Courtesy
Courage

One wonders why we allow these invisible Pied Pipers lead us like rats to the cliff over and over again. Change your thought patterns, get on about your lives, work hard, love hard and live hard it is too short to compromise. But Wayne stop this talking it down attitude right now please!!!

Electricity Prices set to Rise by $500

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 110px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-X15SQ-c9480/TsxsPOiGLHI/AAAAAAAAlcw/clsto1blE10/s200/Love%2BEnergy%2BLogo_White.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5678032239062297714" />

The Advertiser in Adelaide today published the article attached to this link

Have a read and then tell me if there is not a motivation to consider alternative electricity generation that is built to last. Of course there are lots of people out there who still are getting outrageous Electricity Bills and the future is still pretty grim with projected increase in prices looking pretty scary. Green Energy solutions such as Photovoltaic Solar Energy are still very attractive and due to competition prices of systems continue to tumble as competition between manufacturer’s heats up.
Love Energy still stands by its main principle of supplying only the highest quality product that will still be generating electricity long after I depart this planet. High quality is really important to understand as if you visit the Desert Knowledge site http://www.dkasolarcentre.com.au/ you will see for yourself why the product we sell down here rates so highly in performance and longevity.
But I started out talking about Commercial Installs and pointing out that we are doing lots more in this space. Commercial takes us into larger scale systems that are not only into standard grid connect systems but also stand alone systems and various hybrids which incorporate diesel back up generation as well.
I can show you some photos of a system we have recently installed at IT Cloud Service provider LogicPlus who are a full on hybrid service as they are not only grid connect but also run generator back ups support for their server rooms at their Head Office
You have to say the photos are pretty impressive.
So need to know more about what Solar can do for you give us a ring here at Love Energy on 1300 LOVEENERGY ( 1 300 568 339 for the uninitiated) and let us help you understand how Solar Power can help you reduce you energy costs and take you into the greener cleaner future.
You will excuse me if from time to time I come back and blog about some of our new conquests but I just LOVE ENERGY.

Looking for the Murray Darling Basin Public Submissions

You can find them here - Well there seems to be an awful lot of it going around and well "gulp" I was diagnosed about three years ago.

My world came apart, me depression - "What you talkin' about Willis". The number of friends and business acquaintances who stood back in disbelief Jimbo has depression.

So what does this mean to me and how the hell did I get here. My observations that in Men we simply have this implied role model that says tough, self sufficient, bread winner etc. and that is so driven into us that we have lost emotional communicative skills.

I read the other day marriages have fallen to an average life span of 12.5 years. We clearly do not know how to communicate with our Bride. We are unable to share because that is weak, and even when we do it is clumsy and as such poorly received and almost treated with contempt.

We are also guilty of poor choice of confidant and often turn to other women as women have inherent good listening skills. Try and have a deep and meaningful with your best bloke mate. Very few know how to deal with his mate opening up and may never actually recover from the experience :) Therein lies the loss of trust in marriages we do not communicate with our wife/lover/girlfriend because to show we are soft inside does not fit the role model. When our loved one finds we have shared with another woman it is immediately seen as a betrayal - probably not without good cause but we do not know any different.

Work ethic also has a lot to do it - we laugh about that Pizza ad where Dad's Tip to his son was "work hard and love your Mum". Unfortunately that is all to true - it is the staple diet of the Aussie Male. So to be successful in life work hard is all we know and I am afraid to say that can become almost obsessive and driven into us from the day we can comprehend. How many gave there young son a wheelbarrow and a shovel for Christmas so his son can work in the backyard alongside Dad.

So the scene is set, blokes are tough and work hard and should not share their feelings.

I know at a young age I decided that I was going to make it. At school even in my last year I was the 9 stone ringing wet little guy (I know - what happened because I sure do not look like that now) who suffered his fair share of bullying - but I was going to make it. There it started I worked on a bit of everything succeeded as a lightweight rower, ran Music Competitions, took parts in plays and became more heavily involved in the production side. Yep I was good at it.

So when I started work I took that go the extra yard mentality and would always put myself out ahead of others. Ran cash collection centres for Channel 10 Xmas Appeal (the whole 24 hours), Secretary and Committee man in Adelaide Jaycees, organised Miss South Australia and many other Fundraisers, Secretary of the Social Club, Organiser of the Ten Pin Bowling, played a bit of Cricket for relaxation until water skiing every weekend took over, worked with my father in law restoring his AESL Air Tourer 150,became heavily involved in SACOSS Committee on Adoption - not happy until I was Chairman. Sat on the Minister of Community Welfare Adoption Panel - volunteered to do every appeal board. And all of the time working hard and being successful at it.

Notice something here - in amongst all of this I was married had children - have not mentioned them until now. Wife and Children the true love of my life. Believe me I do - would die for them.

Then it started - working bees at the Kindergarten, Committee member of everything, Coach of the tee-ball team, President of the PeeWee Baseball and Teeball club at school, football committee, regional football committee, YMCA Explorers with my Sons but no not happy, Group Captain, Regional Captain. When my children changed schools we joined a baseball Club (East Torrens) worked on getting more people involved went from 40 kids playing to 500. President of the Junior Baseball and then President of the Club. Not happy there joined the Board of the SABL - not happy there became the President and representative on the National Board. When I retired from that joined the MS Board in SA and went on to be on the National Board.

During this last burst started a New Business that went on to have branches in Australia and New Zealand and all of the trauma that goes with being in business.Did that for 20 years.

What is still missing here, certainly a lot of what I did was for my Kids, Sport,YMCA etc but was it? My Kids certainly had great opportunities in everything they did but still what is missing.

MY WIFE MY KIDS AND ACTUALLY TAKING TIME OUT FOR THEM AND HAVING FUN.

Fun my middle son laughed at me last night - Dad have fun he said. I am very lucky my kids love me heaps - just reckon I am a crazy old man :)

I am not saying we did not have fun along the way we had lots - what I am saying is when did we stop and live the moment - not enough jumping in puddles - skinny dipping on beaches not enough our time not enough me time.

I am extraordinarily proud of the things I have achieved my business, the work I have done in all of those extra curricular events.

Then you hit the wall - you realise that you actually do not know how to live - yeah very proud of achievements but did not stop and live. Crushing - you are only remembered for that hole you leave in the bucket of water - what happened to all those people that you were able to give a good time what do all those achievements mean.

Yep worked hard and still love me Mum been very good at it but the reality you have looked after number one and in that you actually do not know how to live with that person you love. I would give it all away if I could have that back.

They call that depression I am sad, shitty, divorced and dealing with it but equally I reckon I earn it. Counseling etc is useful but it is me who needs to fix it and I am.

The sadness further to me is in moving on I now have to change almost 60 years of learned traits and that is new - when it come to matters of the heart I am just a novice, in fact a klutz is probably the better word. I recently tried again to have a meaningful relationship but the pressures of my business life lead me down that path. I have fallen in love a couple of times along the way but smashing that old "work hard and love your Mum" syndrome is hard.

I genuinely loved my wife and really love my children and grandchild and more recently my partner. Still do - but that passion to be involved to try and make a difference and to work hard at it still makes me a veritable cripple when it comes to love and emotion. Dad's, blokes generally we just do not know how to stop being blokey.

Depressed absolutely, I earned it and you cannot stop me getting out of it my way - just love me for who I am a genuine hardworking bloke who just wants to love and oh yeah be loved.

I looked back at this before I published and realised that this brief summary of all the things I have put into this life is nothing more than that a brief summary of how I forgot the basics.

Cannot say it better than this:-

Oh and by the way guys there is help and there are people who will listen and try and point you down the right path and I guess there is someone out there who will love you. Male or female because blokes like us will eventually send our partners down the same path to depression....

http://www.beyondblue.org.au/index.aspx?
Lifeline on 13 11 14 in South Autralia
SANE helpline on 1800 187 263 in South Australia.
http://www.transformedself.com.au/index.html
http://www.blackdoginstitute.org.au/index.cfm

Commonsense

Dear Old Alexander, Maybe he has a bit of the old dog in him after all. His dear old Grandpa Sir John was twice Premier of this fair State and co-author of our Constitution and Senator in the First Federal Parliament.
Today he wrote an article on the Banks and issued a very fine warning on meddling in stuff we do not understand. It is a fine piece which I invite you to read at this link to the "Adelaide Advertiser".
Then we go on to David Suzuki's little chat little chat in Perth in which he challenges the whole principal of economy as we know it. Very Fine speach. Have a look at it here on the ABC site about David Suzuki's Legacy.
Dear Politicians be warned leave well enough alone unless you have the courage to consider reinventing the whole damned thing. If you do not the evil control of our global markets will just take us around and around the same old path.
Courage, Change, Politics - I fear they do not fit in the same sentence.

Employment

With the way technology is advancing and the rapidity of our global population explosion can we continue to successfully employ everybody.

On one hand we in this country anyway are crying out for more skilled labour on one hand and question the sustainability of our population growth on the other.

I feel the world is heading for quite a knotty problem - don't you?

It is time to help yourself.

For those who know me they know I have been involved in the Financial Service Industry for over 40 years. During that time the products I have been involved with have been not well known but have provided an exemplary service to those who availed themselves of the product.

I have been reading a report recently that was commissioned by Lifebroker and it portrays a very sad reflection on the Australian attitude to protection of ones loved ones via Life Insurance and Income Protection and unfortunately seems consistent with the experience I have had in my long life in the field.

Australia has weathered the Global Financial Crisis very well and that principle is well documented. However like all downturns when you analyse it and get up close and personal with the facts people have been hurt. Reduction in hours of work, businesses that have failed or chosen to withdraw from this country because of problems at home. All of these things have threatened the very existence of our family life and caused pain. For what amounts to a very small investment this pain can be minimised and yet the report at the Lifebroker's web site shows that we simply are not doing enough to look after ourselves.

Without rambling to much the Financial Services Reform Act that went through the Federal Parliament early this century, certainly helped Australian Financial Institutions manage their way through this minefield quite successfully. It also made certain that professional bodies like "LifeBroker" had the right expertise to ensure that the advice and products offered to you are delivered in the best interests of you the consumer.

Do yourself a favour go and read the report attached to this link and then find out for yourself how simple it it is to get a quote to protect your life and your family and how Income Protection is available for the tough times that come around all too often

Banking Shenanigans

It would be interesting for someone with better skills than I to do a review of the Balance Sheet Shenanigans between the last financial years to this financial year. Having admitted that they acted hastily because they were conned by the Oil Price Futures Scam they now in their wisdom "jack up" the cost of money again. This of course adds an uncontrollable expense to every business in existence. Every employee is now seeking more money to pay for the fact that every commodity they use will have the new cost of money built in. From Housing to Bacon and eggs the cost of living will rise. Inflationary of course. My case rests. RBA contributes the main factor and the alternative currently is pain to Joe Public.

Come on you guys there has to be a better way.

Economists have conned us all - they really do rule the world

Apart form the absolute lunacy that the Reserve Bank of Australia has shown in increasing rates to early, based on the findings of the same economist who got us into this mess in the first place we see an equally uninformed and selfish approach from the economists of the major financial institutions aggressively lobbying for a change in rates. There lobbying has absolutely nothing to do with anything other than more profits for the organisations who employ them.

Clearly these "people" have no concern for the people who are now out of work in the huge number of small businesses that are now insolvent and because of the waiting periods at "Centrelink" and other Unemployment benefit organistaions have not yet hit the stats.

I am sorry but you guys are just using muscle to meet your own selfish ends. Uncontrolled markets globally are still exactly uncontrolled because how can the Australian Dollar the flagship of one of the smallest economy's globally become one of the strongest and most heavily traded currencies in the world.

Talk about saying whatever we need to say to suit our own need is the statement from Choice re the inconsistency of rates amongst the Banks. Because they have not moved in consort they question the motives. If the had moved in unison they would have cried collusion.

Sorry guys I have absolutely no faith in your so called profession - frankly as a profession I have more respect for the oldest profession in the world.

Logo Madness - Apple versus Aussie Woolworths

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 95px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_ykkVsLD6lxg/SslAaEchSgI/AAAAAAAAh-4/R0z8XDdSWDc/s200/woolies3-420x0.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5388909245739649538" />
So Apple reckons that the Woolies Fresh Logo - looks like an Apple. Equally I find the rather blank look from our frontbenchers when questioned on their portfolio and are so shockingly found out as to their detailed knowledge of their respective portfolios.
Perhaps that is why we never actually do anything constructive from a decision making point of view. But our erstwhile Government prancing around giving money away instead of really spending it on long term beneficial infrastructure projects (like capturing flood waters and diverting it to the inland river systems.
I am so tired of being sucked in and manipulated by the Financial Power Brokers of the world who clearly have the power and money to manipulate markets whichever way they want.
Clearly we are totally at the whim of major power brokers who seem to have their way with these parliamentary pawns whom have been elected to manage and administer on behalf of the electorate.
So stop the school yard antics - remember who put you in power and stop wasting time with schoolyard bullying tactics. They are only echoing their mates and the discussions they had over a wonderful lunch down in the Pub in George Street Sydney or William Street Melbourne.

You really do have to worry about the Ecomonists of the world because quite simply these guys are quite capable of telling us anything they want us to hear as they attempt to predict (manipulate?) markets.

I have been amazed at the continual Economic Outlook being promulgated daily and in one day you can generally find a variety of conflicting opinions. Our economists spent months convincing the markets that interest rates in Australia needed to rise because of the inflationary trend. A trend mind you largely driven by Oil Prices that continued to spiral until OPEC called the Wall Street Futures Traders out for over trading the price on economist outlook. When they cut the production rate we saw Oil Prices fall out of bed in monumental form and return to a reasonable price. I bet one thing for sure these sods are still manipulating a market.

I watch with interest daily the trade in our "SPI" Index trading - yet another wondrous document that can be traded against a number (created by adding a few "indicator" numbers together multiplying by 100 and calling it an index) that is clearly manipulated by the dealers within minutes of the ASX opening. Frankly the only reason they trade in this index is because they (the dealers) can manipulate it, otherwise they would be down at the casino dropping there money on 26 Black.

My simple questions how do we take control these "experts" who clearly are a disgrace to the piece of paper they call a degree.

Our Reserve Bank listens to these people and now admits they were hasty in lifting rates. Even worse is the horrible truth of where these "experts' have taken us and we are paying a very dear price.

Lets get back to trading physical commodities, lets remove fancy negotiable securities and go about our business of living, buying our food and purchasing to satisfy our needs. He so carefully crafted his words in dedicating the Graveyard at Gettysburg to remind the Nation of its very core, it remains as the true spirit of a proud nation growing and evolving as one nation.
The USA again faces dark times as it has so many times before - of one thing we can be certain, it will recover from this time, and it will remain the truly great nation that remains strong under Liberty's Flame - "Give me your tired, your poor,Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me,I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

Happy Birthday Mr Lincoln

So now the Banks want to give back the money!

This article in the New York Times is still scarier than yesterday.

It begs the question are these guys deliberately manipulating markets and now realise that we are catching on to their irresponsible shenanigans. Clearly the open trade attitude of the Banks in Europe and USA has seen the world financial systems brought to the brink. The Governments of the world have been forced to implement "bail outs" at an unprecedented level. Surely the taxpayers of the world should need and want to reign in these - "greedy, selfish" organisations whom simply have thumbed their nose at prudent management.

I sincerely hope that President Obama and his legislators bring in a much stronger set of watch dog disciplines to protect those of us whom have trusted these organisations. The same disciplines need to also be considered across the UK and Europe. One feels that the market manipulation that has gone on without any from of control has been very largely responsible for this crisis. We will trust them again - we have no choice - but it would be much easier to do so if we knew a large dog with teeth was sitting watching on our behalf.

Whyalla solar project set to shine

This article in the Adelaide Advertiser a bit over twelve months ago seems like a highly topical issue right now.

The principles of Solar Power generation in this world of "Green Power" and at a time when loads in this State (South Australia) have put the system seriously to the test with somewhat disappointing results. The system will allow generation for Base Load requirements and peak load requirements and therefore assist in allaying the problems that we have experienced in this heat wave. What more can you say in this State where temperatures have soared into the 40C/100F category everyday this week and seem destined to do so for some days to come what better generation technique do we want.

The other sad part of this is the word desalination appears as a very minor corollary to this article. I saw an early feasibility on this study about nine years ago and in that the power generated had largely already been committed to the big Steel producers in the region. But here is the rub, the freshwater recovery from the process was projected to not only supply the City of Whyalla but turn the Morgan Whyalla Pipeline around. The removal of the drain on the River Murray alone was surely sufficient incentive to proceed. To mirror (excuse the pun) this project would lay the ground for many such similar plants around the coast of Australia generating Green Power and solving the water shortages in so many parts of this country.

This link will give some more insight into this technology as well. http://www.desertec-australia.org/00csp/cspprojectsworldwide.html

A parting question however, I have heard nothing more of this project since this article, what has happened?

Whats Love got do with it?

I am going to be a bit naughty here I am simply going to redirect you to my other blog.
