Sony

Aerosmith has released the first single from their upcoming 15th studio album, 'Music From Another Dimension.' This is the band's first album since 2004's 'Honkin' on Bobo' and the first single in six years. 'Legendary Child' was performed on the season finale of American Idol last night, and was made available for digital download shortly after.

'Legendary Child' was originally written in 1991 while the band was recording for 'Get A Grip,' but the track never made the cut. That would explain why it sounds just like the Aerosmith sound fans have enjoyed for over 30 years. Steven Tyler still has the amazing voice that made the band stand out years ago, and Joe Perry still can write catchy riffs and solo like a champion. In the typical Aerosmith fashion, Tyler shows off his pipes with the overextended singing of the song name, "Leeeeeegggggggeeeennnndaaaaaaarrrrryyyyy Chiiiiiiiild." Very reminiscent of listening to 'Sweet Emotion.' It just goes to show that Aerosmith still has the formula for success, and it hasn't had to change in 30 years. It's no wonder so many people consider them to be "America's Greatest Rock and Roll Band."

The song was set to be included on the soundtrack for the new G.I. Joe: Retaliation film. However Paramount announced earlier this week that the movie has been postponed to a 2013 release date. Fans can see Aerosmith performing on the Global Warming Tour with Cheap Trick. 'Music For Another Dimension' is set for release on August 28th. Hear the new single first on AOL Radio's Adult Rock station.
Sony

Colorado electronic pop-rock duo, Breathe Carolina, have released the first single 'Hit And Run' from their upcoming fourth studio album. The song was released online earlier today after the bands creative teaser campaign. After reaching certain goals set by the band, 15 second teaser clips of the song were released to the fans via the bands Facebook and Twitter pages.

'Hit And Run' picks up right where the band left off with last years Hell Is What You Make It and their big single 'Blackout.' The simple beat and high-energy chorus provides that "catch" aspect that is step one to creating a hit song. Listening to the lyrics, it seems to tell a story about building a relationship instead of a one-night stand, especially hearing the chorus: "Tell me that you're ready, cause I don't want no hit and run." All-in-all, the song has the unique mixture of electronic and rock, which gives it the potential to expand throughout many different demographics and help launch Breathe Carolina to an even higher level.

Breathe Carolina will be appearing on this years Vans Warped Tour, and will also be part of the lineup for Warped Tour's first ever stop in the United Kingdom this November. 'Hit And Run' will be available for digital download on May 22. RCA

Kelly Clarkson has released 'Dark Side,' the third single off her fifth studio album, 'Stronger.' 'Dark Side' is the follow up single to 'Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You),' which is Clarkson's best-selling and longest lasting number one single to date. After her performance at the Billboard 2012 Awards over the weekend, fans got a bit of a taste of what Clarkson's upcoming 2012 Summer Tour (co-headlined by The Fray) will be like.

'Dark Side' is a love song, but even greater than that; It's an unconditional love song. "Everybody's got a dark side. Do you love me? Can you love mine?" It's about loving someone as a whole instead of certain aspects, which gives the song a different view than other love songs that focus on all the good things about being in love. Sometimes it's important to accept the flaws that people have. Thinking outside the box and unique approaches to her songs, both lyrically and instrumentally, show why Kelly Clarkson has been pumping out radio hits for the past ten years. Her critically acclaimed voice and the instrumentals to the song blend perfectly to create a passionate upbeat track.

Clarkson's debut of 'Dark Side' as a single comes on the same week as the premiere of her new ABC show, Duets, which is set to air Thursday May 24th. Listen to the new single first on AOL Radio's Fresh 40.
RCA

Chris Brown has released a new single titled 'Don't Wake Me Up' from his upcoming fifth studio album, 'Fortune.' 'Don't Wake Me Up' is the fourth single off Brown's new album, which is set for release June 29. The new album will be his first release with RCA Records after the disbandment of Jive Records late last year.

'Don't Wake Me Up' was produced by Benny Benassi, who is more known in the world of electronic, house, and techno music. The production from Benassi is a shining star in this track, but the real star, of course, is Brown's very unique sound and style that has launched him to be one of the most popular entertainers today. There's a nice juxtaposition of calm and energetic in the song, especially with the beginning of the track being a spoken word intro. On the flip side of the intro, there's the nightclub atmosphere with the heavy bass and the very repetitive chorus. 'Don't Wake Me Up' seems to be one of those songs that merges the two sounds in a perfect way.

'Don't Wake Me Up' is available for digital download now. Fans can hear 'Don't Wake Me Up' first on AOL Radio's Fresh 40.

To promote her upcoming movie, Katy Perry: Part Of Me, Katy Perry has released her new single 'Wide Awake,' which was written specifically for the movie. It's the second single off the release of Perry's album 'Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection,' which was the re-release of her album 'Teenage Dream' from 2010.

'Wide Awake' seems to be the breakup song that never came after Perry's divorce from Russell Brand. "Yeah, I was in the dark. I was falling hard. How did I read the stars so wrong?" suggests the sense of love gone wrong, and then the end of the song has her moving forward and "letting go tonight." The song was performed at the Billboard 2012 Awards last weekend, and was promoted with a lyric video online featuring posts from Katy Perry's Facebook Timeline starting from the announcement of the release of 'Teenage Dream' all the way to just recently with the news of her upcoming movie.

Katy Perry: Part Of Me hits theatres on July 5.th The film will be half documentary and half concert footage from the California Dreams Tour, and will be shown in 3D. 'Wide Awake' is available on 'Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection.' Katy fans can now hear the track on AOL Radio's Fresh 40 station.
From humble beginnings as a backup dancer on the show 'In Living Color,' Jennifer Lopez is one of the most recognizable artists worldwide. After major success from her debut album 'On the 6,' Lopez has gone on to release eight full-length studio albums. Her success can be attributed to her smooth R&B beats and her heartfelt lyrics of real life problems. Even as she changes her style up on her latest work 'Love?' we can not help but be enamored. Here are the Top 10 Jennifer Lopez songs as chosen by AOL Radio Listeners.

First appearing on Lopez's second studio album, 'J.Lo,' featuring the rapper 50 Cent, Lopez released the song as a single a year later. The album version proved too long for radio play, so Lopez hired the great Nas to do a new verse, cutting the song down roughly a minute and making it suitable for radio play. Regardless, Lopez nails it on this track.

The Offspring is back with a new single titled 'Days Go By,' the first single from their forthcoming album of the same name. It's been four years since The Offspring gave us 'Rise and Fall, Rage and Grace' which spawned hits like 'Hammerhead' and 'You're Gonna Go Far, Kid.' The formula for The Offspring hasn't changed much from their straight forward American power punk. With their edgy guitars and massive hooks, The Offspring is ready to unload some more west coast angst on the masses.

Writing for the new album began in 2009 while the band was on tour supporting 'Rise and Fall, Rage and Grace.' The band hinted several times over the past few years that the album would be coming out soon but was delayed several times since 2010 in order for the band to complete writing. With the release of the first single, The Offspring has announced that the album will finally be available for sale June 26, 2012.

The Cab's 'La La' is the second single off their smash album, 'Symphony Soldier.' The Las Vegas-based band made their debut in 2008 with their debut album 'Whisper War," which quickly helped them earn the honor:"The Band You Need To Know 2008," by Alternative Press magazine. 'Symphony Soldier' was self-funded by the band after they left Fueled by Ramen/Decaydance Records and has received solid reviews from both the Alternative and Pop music world.

'La La' is a sugary pop-rock track about falling in love at first sight, with lyrics such as, "You're like a song / A beautiful symphony to my eyes" paired with "You make me wanna lose my voice / I just wanna get you sideways." The song contains lyrical honesty coupled with intense imagery. Fans of all genres and ages will fall in love with the sing-along hook and catchy instrumentals.

'Symphony Soldier' is now available on iTunes and you can hear 'La La' on AOL Radio's Fresh 40 station.

Maroon 5 has released the first single 'Payphone' off their forthcoming album 'Overexposed,' which will go on sale June 26th. The band performed the song for the first time during last night's taping of NBC's 'The Voice.' Maroon 5 collaborated with rapper Wiz Khalifa for the track, who appears on one version of the song.

After their previous album 'Hands All Over' had moderate success in terms of radio airplay, the band got together to release 'Moves Like Jagger,' the dance-friendly tune which ended up becoming one of their biggest hits ever. In contrast, 'Payphone' is one of the band's more mellow singles similar to 'She Will Be Loved' and 'Won't Go Home Without You.' The song's lyrics tell of a love gone wrong, proclaiming "If happy ever after did exist / I would still be holding you like this And all those fairy tales are full of it / One more stupid love song I'll be safe."

Fans can now hear 'Payphone' by Maroon 5 on AOL Radio's Fresh 40 station.
Warner Bros.

Linkin Park has released the first single titled 'Burn it Down' off their forthcoming fifth studio album 'Living Things.' The band promoted the song's release today by releasing snippets of the song on their official website linkinpark.com through a game in which fans had to play to unlock.

The song has a lighter, electronic sound compared to the band's nu-metal alternative origins. The chorus repeats, "We're building it up / To break it back down / We're building this up / To burn it down / We can't wait / To burn it to the ground." What that "it" is, however, is up to interpretation according to Linkin Park. Band member Mike Shinoda told MTV in an interview that the lyrics could be interpreted as "what we do in pop culture, where we build somebody up to be the next great thing and then we just like to destroy them at the end of the day."

'Living Things' will be released June 26, 2012 but fans can now hear 'Burn it Down' on New Alternative First and New Pop First.

Silversun Pickups, the L.A.-based alternative stalwart is back with a new single, 'Bloody Mary (Nerve Endings),' from the their latest album, 'Neck of the Woods.' The formula for Silversun Pickups has continued onto their latest effort, with screaming, synthetic guitars coupled with melodic vocals that portray dark content in only the way Silversun Pickups can do it.

'Bloody Mary (Nerve Endings)' portrays the common story of love gone wrong and how the end can sting more than we ever see on the surface. Deep into the darkness, 'Bloody Mary, (Nerve Endings)' plunges into the pit of despair and talks about the hurt one can feel when coping with the loss of love. Accompanied with the band's signature guitar sound and synthetic keyboard play, this song ends with no closure and a thirst to find out what is next.

To hear Silversun Pickups' 'Bloody Mary (Nerve Endings),' tune to AOL's New Alternative First station.
Aerosmith is one of the most iconic and dynamic hard rock bands worldwide. Introduced to the world with their hit single, 'Dream On' in 1973, Aerosmith have been able to transcend the rock genre into a more bluesy atmosphere, dabble with hair metal, explore multiple instrumental parts, and collaborate with a notable hip-hop group. The versatility is one of the major aspects that define Aerosmith, and it is also one of the reasons that the band released so many multi-platinum albums. Here, we look at the top 10 Aerosmith songs as chosen by AOL Radio listeners.

Originally called 'Rag Time' because of its Delta roots, 'Rag Doll' was written by Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, and Jim Vallance. The title was altered because John Kalodner of Geffen records didn't like it, so he sent in rock singer Holly Knight to change it. It was Knight who suggested 'Rag Doll' as an alternative, but the song still has some New Orleans sounds with Tyler's scat singing, heavy bass and the use of a horn section.

 Wind-up

Civil Twilight -- the three-piece band from Nashville by way of Cape Town, South Africa -- broke onto the scene in 2009 with their critically-acclaimed single 'Letters From The Sky.' They're back with a new tune called 'Fire Escape' from the new album, 'Holy Weather,' which dropped in stores March 26th. It's been nearly two years since we have heard new music from Civil Twilight, who last released 'Teardrop' in 2010. The band calls their sound "a safe haven in a vast musical desert for you to seek refuge."

Civil Twilight's latest effort is best described by the band as a journey through nostalgia. After spending most of 2011 on the road, the band sat down in the creative process to pen an album that would take them through the very same journey they found themselves on less than a year ago. 'Fire Escape' takes listeners on a ride of self-discovery while in the midst of life-altering change. The phrase "fire escape" in the song is a person's chance to jump out of the life road they are on for a chance at a better path.

Be sure to check out 'Fire Escape,' now playing on AOL Radio's New Alternative First station.
Rascal Flatts is one of country music's most electrifying acts and this Tuesday, the group will release their eighth studio album 'Changed,' which will be available on iTunes. The first single off 'Changed' titled 'Banjo' has already become a Top 10 single and a hit on AOL Radio. With eleven number-one hits which have attracted both country and non-country fans alike, there does not seem to be any indication that the Ohio-native group will be slowing down anytime soon. We revisit their career with a look back at the 10 best Rascal Flatts songs on AOL Radio.

Off Rascal Flatts' seventh album 'Nothing Like This,' 'I Won't Let Go' was written by songwriters Jason Sellers and Steve Robson. This uplifting tune by about promising to be there no matter what the circumstance was written generically with the intent of making its message broad enough to fit any relationship, whether it be with a signficant other, a family member or with one's religious deity.

Justin Bieber is back with his first single titled 'Boyfriend' off his highly anticipated new album 'Believe,' due out later this year. The newly 18-year-old heartthrob teases his young female fans that he's up for being the object of their desire when in reality, his heart really actually belongs to pop star Selena Gomez.

'Boyfriend' was written by singer/writer Mike Posner and the smooth, seductive swagger that made Posner a celebrity with hits such as 'Cooler Than Me' and 'Please Don't Go' can be heard in Bieber's new track. The song is a much more adult tune for the Canadian idol, who tells USA Today: "I'm maturing, and my music's maturing, so I wanted to do something different." No doubt, his adoring fans everywhere are swooning over the lyrics which include, "Chillin' by the fire while eatin' fondue / I don't know about me but I know about you."

'Boyfriend' is already available for download on iTunes. You can also hear Bieber's latest effort on AOL Radio's Fresh 40 station.

Universal Music

Taylor Swift gave her New Zealand fans a thrill last Friday night (March 16) when she performed her new single 'Eyes Open' live for the first time. Judging by the Kiwi fans' screams she has another hit on her hands with a signature power ballad from this weekends box office blockbuster The Hunger Games soundtrack. It enforces the theme of the movie, "The world will be watching" with a catchy lyrical echo to "keep your eye-eyes open." Swift has successfully threaded the needle with a song relevant to the 'big picture' and able to stand on its own.

The Hunger Games soundtrack includes the chilling 'Safe & Sound' which Taylor wrote and recorded with The Civil Wars plus a Miranda Lambert song. Why would a sci-fi fantasy future based soundtrack rely so much on country music? District 12, the home of the films heroine, Katniss Everdeen, is the area we now know as the Appalachians. Ethnomusicologists recognize this area as the birthplace of country music. Filmmakers brilliantly chose T Bone Burnett to produce The Hunger Games soundtrack. Burnett had already musically mined the area when he went backward in time for the multi-platinum selling Grammy winning O Brother, Where Art Thou? This time he rolled the clock forward. Burnett's vision was to start with "Appalachian music, 300 years in the future." Burnett nailed it.

This has been a great week for Taylor Swift. 'Eyes Open' was released, The Hunger Games film opens, her last single, 'Ours,' is number one on the Country chart, she played New Zealand for the first time and she topped U2, Adele and Lady Gaga to be named the highest-earning pop artist of 2011 by trade publication Billboard. The 22-year-old earned $35,719,902 in 2011 from a combination of music sales, royalties and touring. With this kind of momentum and infectious songs she could top herself when they add up the numbers for 2012.

The world will be watching.
Madonna teamed up with superstar producer Timbaland and Justin Timberlake for '4 Minutes,' the first single off her 2008 album 'Hard Candy.' The apocalyptic upbeat dance tune about enjoying oneself before the world ends became Madonna's second single to reach multi-platinum certification after 'Vogue.' The song also helped Madonna beat Elvis Presley's record with the most top-ten singles, with '4 Minutes' becoming Madonna's 37th top-ten hit.

Keane's 'Silenced By The Night' is the latest single from Keane's forthcoming studio album, 'Strangeland,' due in stores May 7th. It's been nearly four years since Keane's last album, 'Perfect Symmetry' and on 'Silenced By The Night,' Keane keeps the formula of melodic vocals mixed with hauntingly British backing instrumentals.

'Silenced By The Night' made it's debut on Jimmy Kimmel Live and immediately had fans talking again about Keane's new music. For the album, the band enlisted producer Dan Grech, who has worked with the likes of Radiohead, The Vaccines, and others. Keane is calling this their most personal and honest record yet.
