When I reached the [...]]]> This post isn’t interesting, nor exciting, but I want to put it up as it’s something tragic I experienced on Thursday.

AFE8105, is not camera model (as opposed to what my friend first thought), it is a car. To be exact, the plate number of my car.

The car was stolen on Thursday night.

When I reached the LRT station parking lot and my car was nowhere in sight, I searched frantically for it, but nada. Nil. Zilch. My car was gone.

A few phone calls to my cousins and soon we were on our way to make police report. First to the police station along Old Klang Road, then to another police station at Jalan Pudu. By the time I reached home, it was almost 2 a.m. (Thanks, Paul and Shawn!)

Anyhow, after 3 days, my mood has now normalized. Everything happens for a good reason. And I should look on the bright side of it. The silver lining.

Dear AFE8105, you have served me well. R.I.P. You’ll be missed.

What is left of my car..

Actually, we’ve both been around. Ghee Sin is still shuffling between Kuala Lumpur and Penang but I have moved to Kuala Lumpur [...]]]> Occasionally we get a question asking about our blog, since there have not been many updates lately. Did we abandon the blog? No. When are we going to post some interesting stuffs? Real soon.

Actually, we’ve both been around. Ghee Sin is still shuffling between Kuala Lumpur and Penang but I have moved to Kuala Lumpur recently. Indulging in our work, the blog has been overlooked, temporarily. Like what Arnold Schwarzenegger used to say – I’ll be back before coming back in much fanfare, we are too officially back in action now.

Stay tuned for a few wedding sessions and some other exciting posts coming up on this blog. Meanwhile, here’s an image I took while visiting Taiping Lake Garden couple of weeks ago.

Coupled with those year end sales and time spent with family and friends, everyone is having the greatest time of the year.

2009 has been a blast. And 2010 will even be better. We sure hope to see you along in this ride.

When you spend 9 days staying in the same hotel, traveling in the same bus and visiting the same tourist spots, together, you make new friends.

And that’s what happened during my recent trip to China. I get to know some interesting people.

With all 19 other tour members’ age go anyway between 40-year-old and 80-year-old, you add in another chap at half their age and you get an interesting combination. Did I mention 16 out of 20 of them are women?

Well, I had a wonderful time. Thank goodness. Now I’m contemplating tours with kids half my age.

While the tour guide at front was explaining the advantages of silk as bedding, and the guy next to you started to talk about heat conductivity and properties of different materials, you knew right away the guy has to be knowledgeable in physics. In fact, Mr. Yap is a retired physics teacher.

Mr. Teh is our tour guide from Malaysia. With 101 other tour guides using similar little flags to lead thousands of tourists, he bought himself a colorful toy wind turbine instead for our beacon. Brilliant.

Nostalgia

The above winning shot was taken while I was about to leave the zoo. A friendly zoo keeper, seeing me with that huge DSLR, approached me and asked if I would like to shoot some good pictures. Of course I wouldn’t decline such an offer. He led me into a restricted area. It was then I saw this caged orang utan looking nostalgically into the distance.

He must be thinking of his happy days swinging from tree to tree in the wild..

It was a fun process, with the first design shown its way to the scrapyard, then [...]]]> Last time someone asked for our business card, we didn’t have one. So we decided to design one ourselves.

Now, they are done! The business cards. It took us two weeks from first draft until getting the final prints. It was a fun process, with the first design shown its way to the scrapyard, then a different opinion on choosing an eye-popping vertical design or a more common horizontal approach, and finally a brawl on the street. Okay, kidding on the last part. But, really, we bet the same process will take four weeks instead of two if we add another two stakeholders.

Yin Leng and Chee Wai celebrated their wedding at Taiping Gospel Hall. Yin Leng was an old friend whom we knew since school days. The moment she asked us to shoot her wedding, we have been eagerly anticipating her special day.
