What better way to kick off Aphrodite's Muse than to look at the Grecian-inspired fashions of late? The experts have pointed out the trends--draped dresses on the red carpet and ancient history revisited on the runway. After taking a closer look, it seems as if these pieces weren't so much inspired by ancient fashion as they were by the ancient gods themselves.

We begin with Athena, goddess of wisdom and war. Her role was that of a protector, and so we imagine these neutral colors and less-frilly robes would have suited her best.

Second, we see Artemis, goddess of wild animals, wilderness, and hunting, as well as a protector of girls and women. We think a shorter, belted frock would have fit her lifestyle of constant movement.

Next, we gaze upon Hera, the queen of the gods and goddess of the sky, women, and marriage. As the wife of Zeus, we feel that only very regal attire would have been appropriate for her.

And for our first male deity, we take a look at Dionysus, the god of wine. Such a rich lifestyle could surely have inspired such a rich color.

And finally, we envision our namesake, Aphrodite, goddess of love and beauty, as a truly stunning and ethereal beauty. Only the most gorgeous of gowns would have been able to do her justice.

Celebrities, too, have been picking up on this Grecian trend on the red carpet.

This Grecian-inspired trend is obviously very attractive and feminine, and seems to lend an air of grace to the wearer. Is it a wearable trend for the average person, though? We would say so.

The name Aphrodite's Muse was inspired by the ancient Greeks, a people to whom we owe so much, in terms of our philosophies, our ideas of beauty, and much more. Aphrodite was the Greek goddess of love, lust, and beauty, all of which are key concepts in the world of fashion--there are designers we love, items we lust for, and an overall drive to achieve beauty. That being said, this beauty can be ethereal, it can be funky, it can be unusual. With Aphrodite's Muse, the goal is to reach out into the modern world for things of beauty that would even inspire a goddess who possessed unearthly beauty.
