I've found aquariums with lots of decaying leaves and have ec in the 40 to 80 range and this might be explained by the bacteria or whatever eating the leaves but aquariums with extremely heavy plant load have ec in the 20-22 range like this one; more so this is one of the aquariums i add some light fertilizer to support the plant load yet the ec remains very low. Now i realize ec is electrical current and perhaps...<br />

All five I believe are males, there is one individual smaller than the rest that I thought might have been my lone female but it's tail has become lyre tailed like the others, I'm doubtful it's a female. I am learning as much as I can about Apistogrammas and am currently looking at a single pair of Hongsloi. I have never had them, but have heard that they are a great fish to have. I have three tanks. a 45G that is stocked and not looking to add any fish. But I have an established 20G long with 8 Cherry Barbs and a single Bolivian Ram and a 10G established with 6 neon tetras. I was thinking of moving the ram to the 10G and putting the hongsloi into the 20G long. Is this possible...<br />

I got two young Apistogamma borellii. Length at around 4 cm/1.5 inch.<br />
The first one is I think a male. The second one (see photo) I am not so sure about.<br />
Is it a female? (black line through the eye, the first ray of the breastfin ist also black)<br />
Or is it a colouring of a young male - because of a dominant male being present?<br />

It's been awhile since my last thread... been very busy but I could not pass up buying these Wild Adoketa's.<br />
Anyway, after many tries was successful in breeding these guys. The parents are beautiful.. breeding parameters were 5.5 Ph and 78 degrees. If anyone needs more information email me.<br />

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class="bbWrapper">Wanted to share an update on my experiment in extreme UV. I was struggling with a high degree of unexplained fish mortality in my 60 gallon. I’d lost a pair of cacatuoides, and then a pair of borellii, each over the course of 6-12 months. The Borellii had spawned and all but one of the fry disappeared over weeks (they were isolated with a tank divider, fed with BBS). Nothing out of the ordinary for water conditions, weekly 40% water changes. <br />
