Eight garment-scrap warehouses were gutted in a fire which broke out in the city’s Mirpur area early Saturday.

Ataur Rahman, duty officer of Fire Service and Civil Defence, said 
the fire originated from electric short circuit in a tin-shed house near
 Jalladkhana in Mirpur-13 at about 12:55 am and engulfed the adjacent 
warehouses in no time.
