I have never owned any Apple products before, and when I saw the new white iPod touch being released, I had to get it.

First, the price is great. Can’t beat it. Cheaper than buying directly from Apple or any other online retailer that I stumbled upon. The shipping was fast as well from Amazon, and they shipped (free) directly to my PO Box. Double thumbs up for that!

Now to the actual product. I love love love iPod touch 8 GB 4th Generation (White). I love all the features, apps, web, wifi, messaging, etc. So easy to set up and start using. I highly recommend it!

Loving my new ipod touch 32 gb 4th generation (white)! If you’re looking for a new mp3 player, you can’t go wrong with iPod. Not only does the Ipod touch function as an mp3 player, it has all the functionality of the Iphone minus the phone. You can download tons of apps from the ios store and even use wifi to play games online or chat with other people with iphones/ipodtouch through facetime or skype or whatever other app that lets you chat. It even has the built in front and back cameras. My only gripe is that the back camera isnt as great as the front facing camera. Otherwise, this is the greatest music player ever!!

This is a nice product.
I used to have a ipod touch generation 1 for more than 3 years. When I saw this iPod touch 8 GB (4th Generation) with the camera in it I decided to upgrade and it was definitely worth it. cooler, sleaker and better. And this time they threw in a camera also. That made it an excellent browsing and chatting device besides one of the best mp3 players ever made.

I had a first generation Touch and I am amazed beyond my mind by how far the Touch has evolved. Some noticeable difference from the 1st with 4th include: 2 volume control button on the side (up and down), taller screen on 4th, power button being on the right (4th), slimmer design (4th), a 4.1 OS (4th), and obviously a camera (4th).

Let’s start with the camera. Based on reviews I’ve read so far, I felt that people bought the Touch with expectations that it can do the job that a Canon EOS Rebel or a Nikon D40 can do. This is obviously not true because if it did, although I would be amazed even more, the price of the Touch would skyrocket. Also, it’s the first time they’re trying this on an iPod. You have to give them a break. Sure I agree that they could’ve done better than “less than 1 MP” camera but they probably wanted to find ways to make this as cheap as they can, price wise; after all, holidays seasons are coming. The quality of the pictures is something you can live with in my opinion, since you’re more likely than not going to be taking pictures of your friends, yourself, or even stupid or funny things that you may come across. If that’s not what you want, I’d get an actual camera.

Video Recording is something else, however. The HD is more than I could ask for in this little thing. The quality of the sound you get and the video itself of course, it’s very good. I would go to Youtube and type in iPod Touch camera test or something like that for previews.

The speaker itself is another interesting quality. The Touch has a built-in speaker that lets you listen if you lost your earphones or you just don’t want to use it for any reason. The quality of the speaker is truly above average. It’s almost as if I don’t even need headphones anymore, although headphones do yield a better quality. But however you want to listen is up to you.

The multitasking feature works like a charm as well. For those who don’t know how to do it, just press the exit button twice in a row. The multitasking lets me go from one app to the other with no additional loading time and whatnot. It’s not entirely necessary to me, but it’s a true convenience!

I would review more on this but I don’t want to make you guys fall asleep reading. But I WILL say that there’s always room for improvements here and there. But for now, this is truly a device that does magic.

Unlike last year’s iPod touch update, this one’s a complete overhaul to the entire line. Last year, the new models didn’t change in appearance. On the inside, faster processors and double-memory were added to the 32GB & 64GB models, but the 8GB got left out. Not this time. Buying the new 8GB iPod touch indeed gets you all the new goodies. You’ll also pay thirty bucks more than before, so consider buying the iPod touch 32GB 4th Generation model instead. You’ll get 400% more storage space for only 23% more coin!

I decided to go with the 8Gb version, which is technically a second generation, because I will be mainly using this device for entertainment and educational purposes. I purchased this model, as opposed to the 32Gb or 64Gb version because I didn’t feel the update warranted the price increase. I don’t have a lot of music or videos so 8Gb was just fine with me.

Its primary purpose will be an ebook reader, educational device, web surfing and mp3 player. I have a lot of free time in the tower so this will make work more enjoyable. Everyone I work with has an Iphone and they can’t seem to put it down. I didn’t want to pay the monthly charges and be stuck with a device for two years – considering apple updates their products quite regularly. I felt like an Ipod Touch provides everything I am looking for from an Iphone except for the phone and camera, which I have both of so that’s a wash for me.

Upon opening the package, I instantly fell in love with the Touch. It is so much sleeker than the Iphone. I’ve only had it for a day and I love it so far. I won’t go into details that so many reviews have covered, but I have to say it has exceeded my expectations. I’ve asked myself quite a few times last night how I went without this essential device for so long. It will change your life, your mileage may vary.

Just buy it!

I previously owned a Nano 3rd Gen, and liked it well enough. My only major complaints were Itunes (buggy and annoying interface) and the 8 GB limit. I have quite a large music library and was constantly juggling it trying to fit everything I wanted to carry around. Otherwise, I liked the Touch 3rd Gen, and liked the compact form factor. I liked the video ability too, which I found astonishigly useful. Alas, somehow it was lost/stolen.

Ipods are enough of a luxury for me that I didn’t replace it immediately. The 4th Gen Nano was an improvement (except for the forrm factor — I’m one of the few who liked the more compact form of the 3rd gen). The 5th gen Nano finally sucked me in with amazing new features and teriffic design. Below are the things I really liked and which caused me to shell out for the latest version:

1. Better screen. Sure the screen is tiny, but I can see it very clearly with my glasses off, I’m nearsighted, but have good closeup vision.
2. FM radio – This is something available in other mp3 players, but finally Apple has decided to join the world on this feature. It works pretty well. As noted, the radio uses the earbuds cord as an antenna. While that is a problem for some, it is actually a plus for me, as my office is in the center of a large building and FM reception is iffy. I can position the cord in such a way that I get better reception than my table radio. YMMV.
3. Video – It’s amazingly decent for such a tiny device. I don’t need video — at least at present, but adding features like this inspires new uses that no one ever predicted (SEE UPDATE BELOW).
4. 16 GB. I can fit more stuff in it now (yes, this was available in the 4th gen, but it is a big plus for me — I did not want to buy another 8 GB ipod.) Additionally, I really don’t care about the unavailability of still pictures. I have a Blackberry that takes fairly good pictures already, and I can send them via email immediately — much more useful than if I relied on the Nano.
5. External Speaker – very useful, enough said.
6. Voice recording — I understand that you can add a decent directional mike, but haven’t explored this yet. If it works, it’s a real plus, digital recorders are expensive and carrying them is a PITA.

When I first got the newest generation 160G IPOD, I quickly became frustrated. Intially I even considered sending it back to Amazon. My friend had sent me many CDs throughout our time together and I had to re-enter track names for a lot of his music, I entered track names for nearly 100 songs of the 550 songs he had sent me. He had sent me MP3 CDs with 64, 78, 99 tracks of songs on one CD, I had to import them in sections, meaning I imported them 20 at a time to get them in the IPOD. When I went to enter my personal CD collection into the IPOD, they took hours to import….2 of my CDs (they were bootleg CDs, I bought them from street vendors) took over 4 hours to download 36 songs. Once I got all 1191 songs in into the IPOD which took 2 to 3 hours for nearly 1 week to import… I love it!!!

I wake up to my IPOD, using the alarm setting. My co-worker has an 80G IPOD is envious of my IPOD for all the things I am able to do. My friend is trying to sell his 80G IPOD to get what I have for I love the sound quality, the picture quality of my artwork and my ability to do other things.

I read many of the reviews before I ordered this IPOD. Needless to say I have dropped it a few times, maybe I should not type that…it has been very durable and I love all of my choices. I am new to the IPOD world, this is my first IPOD, I was previously listening to music on my cell phone. When my carrier told me my cell phone could not manage a 8GB and could only handle a 4GB, I chose to not pay another $200.00 plus for a cell phone and chose the IPOD instead…The money was well spent. Due to the length of my songs, I have many 5 to 8 minute songs in my IPOD, I will not get 40,000 songs, my 1191 with artwork has already used 16GB.

The MP3 player, including the iPod, has come a long way in just the past few years. Even though this 5th generation iPod Nano might not be a revolutionary breakthrough, the fact that you have a video camera in such a small portable commodity is amazing. It won’t replace your family camcorder, but it is a fun feature, especially if your iPod is destined for use by a child or teen. The screen image on this iPod are as slick and attractive as ever, the ease of use of the iPod and its various menus are very user-friendly and intuitive, and this is overall an excellent product.
