This browser developed by Todd Ditchendorf an ex apple engineer. The main interesting spec is the use of the cover flow view to view the links of a web page or to view photos. Is interesting that cover flow is showed like a finder window not as new window like CoolIris.

Air France has introduced a new service to make and receive calls in the airplane. This service will be operative from 3000 to up and, we can make six calls simultaneously and unlimited sms messaging. I think is an important feature for clients. I hope it will be operative in every air company in the world.

Microsotf Will Introduce A New Mobile Browser

Microsoft will improve the IE Mobile, following the same philosophy that the iPhone Browser, showing the web pages like a desktop browser. I think this is an important way to the mobile browsers, I have talk anytime about the fragmentation of the mobile browsers and the problems for developers to make cross browser pages. What do you think about this topic?

Also Microsoft will improve the navegation system throught menus in the Windows Mobile 6.1 version. The revolutionary iPhone interface will make that every manufacturer improve the OS version of mobile device, and unique winner of this figth is the final user with better products an a lot of alternatives.

Acid3 Safari test

The Safari browser passed the Acide3 test with 95/100. The WebKit team has fixed an exceptions, and now they match the DOM 3 specification.

I think the browsers must to match this specification at the top level, because it will be interesting to develope more web apps. Nowadays if you're developing a Web page you need view correctly in the most browsers and it's very hard try and solve the problems.

How to: Get contacts with the iPhone SDK

Installing iPhone SDK On PowerPC

If you have installed the iPhone SDk on a Power PC, you can't create iPhone Apps. Because the PowerPC Plattform is not supported by the SDK. Well...., you can install it browsing through the package content in the SDK image disk.
You must intall the aspen packages manually to use it with the XCode. You can se the packages in the image.

After install it you need to move it to the platform folder in the Developer folder. These packages by default will be installed in the root folder, you need to move it to the developer folder. Other option is change the destination folder in the installation app.

After these steps you will see in the new project window the option to develop iPhone apps.

iPhone 1.1.4 Released

The new firmware of the iPhone is now released. There's no a lot of improvements, people says about improve the coverage and a little better battery life.

About the unlocking and the jailbreak appears that ZiPhone is still working on this task, and nowadays is not possible make this actions on the iPhone.

Another important annotation is about SDK, before the SDK was delayed today we have a new date is March 6th. This new firmware version is ready to support the SDK programs.

iPhone Widgets Platform SDK

What do you think about develope your own widgets in the iPhone. Perhaps with the SDK presentation a Widget platform will be introduced. In the XCode 3.0 there are an interesing SDK to develope our own widgets. Perhaps take advantage with Dahscode is to use it on the iPhone.

And also a lot of widgets already developed could be used on the iPhone. I think the use of dashcode on the iPhone is really interesting for the industry and every important mobile company as Nokia or Microsoft has their own widget platform. Apple must to take part in the mobile widget market.

The Microsoft widget platform is zumobi. This solution is only for Windows Mobile based phones.

Do you know Mashups?. Yahoo! has developed an interesting plattform to build your own Mashups. It's a simple web UI with flow graphics where you can connect wen 2.0 sources to get information and manipulate it and finally show in the pipe exit. The app was called pipes perhaps for the similar aspect.

The Yahoo! pipes web site. You can design here your own pipes and view an interesting video about build pipes, really very easy and powerfull.

Uses Of Vodafone Mobile Script

There are four interesting videos using the MobileScript Engine. Allowing developers write easy code to access every phone function. All these widgets has been developed using HTML and JavaScript. These demos are running on a Windows Mobile phone. An interesting video is Virtual Desktop, a entire phone interface that integrate web 2.0 services allowing users make a relation between the phone data and the internet data. The services used by these interface are Google Maps, Weather Bug, Flickr and Facebook. Also you can view profiles into the same interface, for example if you are in away profile the phone shows where you are and the weather for this city. These software was implemented between two Vodafone R&D Locations : Newbury (UK) and Huesca (Spain).

If you have a Mac with less than 867 Mhz CPU speed and you want to install leopard, now with LeopardAssist you can do it. It's very simple. You only need to execute de action and put the Leopard cd on the Mac an reset the computer. If apple don't recomend install it on this computer is for something. I've installed it on a PowerMac G4 @ 400 Mhz and it runs really slow, I think Tiger is a great O.S. and you can use it with this macs.

Another way to do it is restoring a Leopard image on the unsoported mac and boot the image restored.

Time Capsule: An Amazing Device

This device was introduced in the 2008 Apple MacWorld. Is an access point with high storage : 500 GB or 1TB. It can be used as back up disk with time machine, the backup system for Mac Os X Leopard. Another interesting thing is that Time Capsule implements the 802.11 protocol, te trasmission speed could be of 600 Mbps.

I think this device is interesting allowing users don't deppend of computers or external drives to make back ups, I mean that an access point is always turned on and it means that network hard drive is always connected. The prices are good, from 299$ to 499$. An interesting device to spend money.

MacBook Air

The new Mac Book Air is here, all the rumors are true about the ultra thin portable. I think is really amazing, a little expensive i think, but the minimalism is expensive.

Another interesting thing is that Mac Book Air doesn't have optical drive. You can "stole" every optical drive in your network to install programs. Also the MacBook Air has two ports, an USB port and a mini DVI port to extend the signal to a external display or a slide projector.

Also the most interesting thing is that the track pad is multitouch, similar to the iphone. I mean that you can use gestures to do actions, like view photos, make zoom.

Apple has said that MacBook Air is the thinnest notebook in the world.

The definitive price is 1799 $.

Wikia is a new Web Sercher. The final mission is compite with Google, but first impression are very unfortunate for wikia. Is Open Source based and its algorithm is based in social content. Is based on three Apache projects Nutch, Lucene y Hadoop. Is interesting view as Google and Wikipedia are fighting to make compite, because google will introduce a Wikipedia similar system. Really interesting the figth, I hope it will be better for the final user.

Possible UltraPortable Mac Design

This Video Shows the new features in the 1.1.3 firmware. Four important upagrades

-You can move the home screen icons.
-You can send SMS to more than one contact.
-You can use the zoom multitouch in safari, as the photos zoom.
-Add BookMarks to the home screen as icon.

This updates are very interesting perhaps the official release will be in the January MacWorld. Also the Ultra Thin Mac.

Knol - A New Wikipedia by Google

The use of iPhone browser is growing rapidly. Is interesting view as the iPhone with is sort cycle life is more used than Windows Mobile.

Also the use of Mac OS X has increased and Windows XP is falling slowly. Perhaps in a few years the most used OS sill be Mac OS X.
