Google Said to be Using Key Lime Pie after Jelly Bean

While many of us are still waiting for Ice Cream Sandwich to hit our handsets, and we have no clue when Jelly Bean is coming, you might as well get ready for Key Lime Pie.

Google has still yet to officially confirm that the next version of Android will be called Jelly Bean, but The Verge is reporting that their source has informed them the version after that will indeed be called Key Lime Pie.

There is no word on what its version number will be, or when we may see it arrive [2013], but you can get used to seeing the “KLP” abbreviation a lot.

Is Google Making Their Very Own 'Siri'?

Siri has, for all its successes and failures, become a huge selling point for the iPhone 4S. The device has been a hit, even despite its recycled design, which has been due in large part to Apple’s voice assistant. So Google, not to be outdone by the folks in Cupertino, apparently have a voice assistant of its own in the pipeline,one that TechCrunch claims will go well beyond Siri in many ways.

Previously known as Majel, Google’s new “Assistant” will apparently be open sourced, giving developers access to the service to further improve apps and products. This means that Assistant can potentially be utilized in programs, apps,browsers, etc.

The project is reportedly being spearheaded by the Android team,with search engineer Amit Singhal heavily involved. While Google already has its share of voice technology, developing one under the leadership of its flagship OS team will no doubt make for a pretty killer digital assistant.

According to one TechCrunch source, the project has three parts:
1. Get the world’s knowledge into a format a computer can understand. 2. Create a personalization layer –Experiments like Google +1 and Google+ are Google’s way of gathering data on precisely how people interact with content. 3. Build a mobile, voice-centered “Do engine” (‘Assistant’) that’s less about returning search results and more about accomplishing real-life goals.

Unfortunately, Google doesn’t have plans to unveil Assistant until Q4 of this year –perhaps to coincide with the release of Jelly Bean –so we’re still in for a bit of a wait. On the bright side, though, it’ll just give the company that much more time to really hone the software before it hits consumer hands…or voices.

Apple 'Pushing' for TV Streaming Service by Christmas

Rumors are circulating once again that Apple is pushing forward with negotiations with television content providers to cobble together some form of streaming service offering.

According to a report from the New York Post, Eddie Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of Internet Software and Services, has been the lead negotiator in ongoing talks with numbers television content companies. Apparently the sticking point is that Apple wants to control every aspect of the service from wanting to make individual apps for each content provider that would run across multiple platforms, how they would be bundled, what they could charge and even potentially taking a share of the advertising revenue. As one “They want everything for nothing,” said an anonymous media executive. And according to yet another person familiar with the matter, Apple’s take on the whole deal is, “we decide the price, we decide what content.”

Additionally, Apple has also been talking with cable operators in the hopes of getting them to rid themselves of the traditional cable boxes in favor of ones built by Apple that would also include software the build. The cable executives have chose to not go this route as it seems they would like to keep Apple as far away as possible from the $150 billion pay-TV industry.

It would seem that by hook or by crook Apple wants a bigger piece of the television content industry beyond what it has from selling episodes in the iTunes Store. As anyone with even a passing familiarity with the way the entertainment industry works,however, studios are not used to being pushed around, and it doesn’t matter if you’re Apple with a $98 billion war chest of cash reserves and a market cap north of $500 billion,you aren’t going to get very far by cutting into Hollywood’s profits. While Apple tends to get its way in most things,they may have met their match when it comes to this fight.

Will Siri Make an Appearance on iPad 3?

As we all wait for the March 7th iPad 3 announcement, one giant white elephant has entered the room: Will it receive Siri?

The personal digital assistant that made its debut on the iPhone 4S has won its share of critics and fans. Some find it completely useless, while others seem to wonder how they ever got through life without it. Whichever side of the fence you happen to land on, it seems fairly obvious that Apple has a lot invested in the idea, and the feeling is that it will be with us for some time to come. Since it appears that it won’t be coming along for the ride on OS X Mountain Lion, that had made some wonder where this software will show up next, and it does seem like the iPad 3 would be the most logical place.

As it stands, Siri is pretty heavily tied to the iOS system it would appear, so not showing up on Mountain Lion makes at least some sense, but the iPad 3, at least in my opinion, seems like a given. Skipping the next iOS device after its initial release would leave a lot of question marks about the future of the tool, and that is not something Apple is known for doing. It is almost a certainty that the Cupertino-based company is going to have to have the assistant on the next iteration of its market leading tablet,or it’s going to be in line for a whole lot of uncomfortable questions.

All will be revealed on March 7, but I’m not going to be the least bit surprised to see Apple CEO Tim Cook activate Siri and ask her to show off the latest Apple stock price while he’s holding an iPad 3 up on stage.

Is Apple Considering a 14" MacBook Air?

New rumors out of Asia suggest that Apple may be looking at increasing its MacBook Air line to include a 14-inch model.

According to DigiTimes, supply chain sources are saying that Apple may be exploring the concept of launching a 14-inch version of the MacBook Air that currently only ships in 11" and 13" varieties. The cause for this is the Asian markets prefer this size to 15-inch models, and 14-inch models account for 35 to 40% of the purchases in Asia. As China has skyrocketed to be Apple’s second biggest market, launching a model of this size may not be as crazy as it sounds. The MacBook Pro line comes in 13", 15" and 17" styles, so there is currently no 14" model anywhere in the Apple laptop lineup.

Yup, it's that time of the year again, when everyone gets dazzled up for the next  Apple installment. This time, we've got the iPad 3. Most likely to be a quad-core packed monster with the same 9.7 inch screen, but thinner, Siri enabled, and better cameras. You can perhaps expect no physical home button because of what you can see in the picture to the left. Also expect 4G LTE compatibility with Verizon, At&t, and Sprint.

We will never forget the man who changed the technology industry forever.

Unfortunately, that day has come, and Steve Jobs, Apple's co-founder and former CEO before resigning, has passed away somewhere in San Francisco area. It's pretty incredible to see that just one day after the iPhone 4S announcement, the first press conference in Apple's history with Tim Cook speaking without Steve involved.

Our hearts go out for him, his family, and all those who were close with this tech legend who had been fighting cancer for 7 years.

The iPhone 5/4S announcement was made official when Apple had sent out letters to a select group of people, inviting them to join in on the iPhone announcement October 4th, (TOMORROW), in San Francisco, California.

I definitely hope that it will feature a 4'' screen as much as the next guy, but I really want it to have Verzion LTE built into it. Who wouldn't want to have 4G built into it? I mean come on now?

Battlefield 3 BETA Issues Fixed In Full Game

If you haven't already tried the Battlefield 3 Open BETA, you should. If you haven't, you still have time to do so. The Open BETA closes this October 10th, so go and download it right now!

If you have tried the beta, then you must have already encountered one of the problems on the left....irritating I know. But after EA had seen some pretty major pre-order cancellations, they confirmed that glitches like in this picture and many more glitches including spawn issues and no crosshairs appearing in-game, have officially been resolved in the full game. They have also confirmed that the graphics have improved in the full game, [I doubt my much], but whatever.

Battlefield 3 will be launching this October 25 for the PS3, PC, and XBOX 360.

iPhone 5 Announcement - October 4th

So, it's that time of the year again. This year though, people are hungry. Year after year, Steve Jobs announces the newest iPhone at the annual WWDC in June. Well, June has passed. And it's October baby.

After Steve Jobs had resigned as CEO of Apple, people were worried that there wasn't to be a new iPhone announcement this year...that iOS 5 was gonna have to stick to it's 2nd cousin, the iPhone 4. Well guess what, Tim Cook is here, and is ready for some iPhone 5 madness. On October 4, 2011, the iPhone 5 rumors will officially come to a rest, Sprint might get the iPhone, it might have a bigger screen, it might have a dual-core A5 chip, it may have 4G LTE powered into it. Or it just might be another one of Apple's masterpieces.

PlayStation Network Won't Be Online For Weeks!

Waiting for the PlayStation Network to go back online? You'll have to wait some more.

It all started on April 20, 2011 when Sony stated it would take a slight day or two to get the services back online. 3 weeks later, things look grim.

Sony says it will not relaunch the PlayStation Network until May 31, according to Bloomberg, despite earlier promises to have the network back up by this Monday.

"When we held the press conference in Japan last week, based on what we knew, we expected to have the services online within a week," the company said in a press release. "We were unaware of the extent of the attack on Sony Online Entertainment servers."

Sony's PlayStation Network was breached by hackers, exposing over 100 million accounts. According to All Things Digital, the company is considering offering a bounty for information to help find the culprits.

Sony has accused the activist hacker group Anonymous of contributing to the major breach, though Anonymous has repeatedly denied any culpability.

Anonymous 'may have been behind PSN Hacking'

Members of Anonymous may have been behind the cyberattack on Sony's PSN and SOE systems despite a denial issued this week, according to reports.

Meanwhile, the group is believed to be considering another attack against Sony's systems next week, just as the Japanese giant had hoped to return them to operation after being offline for more than 2 weeks.

Two journalists at The Financial Times report that "veterans" of the group have told them that one or more of the group's supporters may have gone beyond the rest and broken into the company's servers in April, rather than simply carrying out a cyberattack that would knock them offline.

Sony claimed in a letter to the US Congress, that private investigators called in to find the cause of the cyber-theft, in which personal details and possibly credit card details of between 77million & 100million using the global networks were stolen, had found a file with the name "Anonymous" and part of its slogan stored on a server that was attacked.

Some members of Anonymous issued an angry denial on Thursday in which they said that no investigation would find the group to have been involved in the thefts, although they agreed that Sony's systems had been targeted – in an operation they dubbed "OpSony" – for a "denial of service" attack that would cripple it.

But the denial stopped short of saying that Anonymous members had in fact broken into Sony's systems and left the file there.

Some members of Anonymous are skilled hackers who might have been able to break into Sony's systems and steal the data. What is unclear is whether they would do it for personal gain or to prove that they could.

Anonymous representatives continued to insist that the break-in was not their purpose or responsibility. "Let's be clear, we are legion, but it wasn't us. You are incompetent, Sony," it tweeted on one of the semi-official Anonymous accounts on Twitter on Thursday.

Now the FT says that Anonymous members had been discussing details of a vulnerability that would enable a break-in to the systems in a chatroom ahead of the beginning of OpSony in April. "The hacker that did this was supporting OpSony's movements," the FT quotes the activist saying.

Anonymous is reportedly considering another attack on Sony this weekend in retaliation for the company's handling – and particularly its accusations against the group – of the PSN and SOE breaches.

The hackers involved told Cnet they have access to some of Sony's servers and that they will publicise any information they can glean from it. That might include internal company details – as happened when Anonymous targeted the website of UK law firm ACS:Law and US security company HBGary – or perhaps the credit card details held on the Sony site.

Anonymous originally targeted Sony over its legal pursuit of George "Geo" Hotz, who had discovered a "root key" that would allow anyone to run pirated software on the company's PlayStation 3 consoles.

Still no official date when the PSN will actually be online, but with E3 2011 less than a month away, Sony better be prepared with a speech.

PSN Delayed for "Further Testing", not likely to be online this week

On Sunday, Sony announced that "some" PSN services, including online play, would come back this week. With very little of this week remaining, you might be wondering if it's still going to happen. Well, it isn't.

In an update on the PlayStation Blog, Sony's Patrick Seybold passes along the bad news that service renewal has been delayed to an unspecified time. "When we held the press conference in Japan last week," Seybold said, "based on what we knew, we expected to have the services online within a week. We were unaware of the extent of the attack on Sony Online Entertainment servers, and we are taking this opportunity to conduct further testing of the incredibly complex system." He didn't flat out say this week is out of the question, but that's definitely the implication.

Seybold apologized for the delay. To those of us (all of us) waiting to get back to our online services, he said "trust me when I say we're doing everything we can to make it happen."

Sony Confirms PSN to be online next Tuesday!

A: Our employees have been working day and night to restore operations as quickly as possible, and we expect to have some services up and running within a week from yesterday. However, we want to be very clear that we will only restore operations when we are confident that the network is secure.

It all started 5 weeks ago, when EA decided to allow the fans to vote for the MADDEN NFL 12 cover. Now, 5 weeks later, the Cleveland Browns' all star HB has won it all against some real enemies. Including Matt Ryan, Adrian Peterson, "Superbowl MVP Arron Rodgers", and Jamaal Charles. And at the end of it all, he took down Michael Vick in the big finale. It took 47 years, but the City of Cleveland should be proud to have finally won something....a video game cover.

White iPhone 4 Confirmed to Hit Shelves 4/28!

Since the launch of the original iPhone 4, Apple promised us a white version of the iPhone 4 "sometime in the future", well Apple stated today that the white version of the iPhone 4 will be available for AT&T and Verizon tomorrow at all Apple stores and AT&T/Verizon retailers. If you look on top of the front camera and front speaker, you can see a proximity sensor. It's the sensor that detects when your near it while speaking to someone, so it saves battery life by turning off the display. The iPhone 4 WHITE version will be available in 3G and have the same 3.5 inch screen as the iPhone 4 BLACK version. Here's a couple of pictures below of the white iPhone 4.

Has your PSN account really been stolen? Well, a message posted o the official US PlayStation website states,

"An unauthorized person has obtained the following personal information that you provided:
- Name

- PlayStation Network/Qriocity password and login, and handle/PSN online ID"

The PlayStation® Network will continue to be offline for the following days so that SCEA can create more safe and secure servers. In the mean time, try to finish all of those campaigns you gamers have been missing out on because of your multiplayer obsession!

PSN Outage - Day 5

On Wendsday, April 20, the PlayStation® Network went down in another attempt to take down Sony by hackers. Only this time, they succeeded, and Sony's worst nightmare has become a reality the past weekend. For 5 days, the people at Sony have been working non stop to rebuild the entire PlayStation Network! There isn't much more news for us to tell you, but stay tuned and all we can guess is that it will be rebuilt by this Wendsday.

PSN Outage - Day 3

The PlayStation Network outage continues today after SONY had said it would be fixed by today. Now, Sony is claiming that an "external intruision" has taken down both the PSN and Quriocity services. They're saying it could last "days" until they get everything back in order, so don't get you hopes up of playing Black Ops tonight.

According to our sources, iOS 5 is officially in the works, but will it live up to expectations against its mighty rival, Android? The answer is YES. Our sources tell us that a new security system has been put as well as a new notification system. They also tell us that a deal with Adobe has been made, including Adobe Flash Player in all iOS 5 devices, (iPhone's, iPod Touch's, & iPad's). It should be revealed at either Apple's WWDC this June or in September when they reveal the iPhone 5.

PlayStation® Network down for serious outage

If you try to logon to the PlayStation Network, it might state, "Network Error" or "Undergoing Maintenence". If you have got these messages when you try to log in, it means that your just going to have to wait! The PSN is currently being investigated by Sony Corporation to see why this has happened. Hacker Group - "Annonymous" has stated clearly, "We have nothing to do with this outage, 'for once' we didn't intentionally do anything to Sony". This outage should only last until Saturday, but if things do get serious, Sony is prepared to bring in its top experts to resolve the problem.
