Applied Systems celebrates 15th annual ACORD award as top download vendor

Las Vegas, Nevada -- May 21, 2008 -- For the 15th consecutive year, Applied Systems is Download Vendor of the Year for Total Implementations, an achievement recognized recently by ACORD, the nonprofit insurance standards association.

The prestigious annual honor signifies that more pairs of agencies and carriers communicate through Applied Systems agency management technology than through any other system.

Applied Systems received six additional ACORD awards, including the Innovative Implementation award for the company's groundbreaking work with claims download. The awards were announced at a ceremony during the 2008 ACORD LOMA Insurance Systems Forum in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Applied Systems also earned ACORD honors for:

Web Services

Outsourcer

Industry Leadership for Straight Through Processing

Shared Service and/or Infrastructure Platform, Middleware

Real Time Implementation & Active Agencies

"Download is an absolutely critical business function for running a profitable insurance agency today," said Doug Johnston, Applied Systems' Vice President of Partner Relations & Product Innovation. "We take great pride in receiving this award for the 15th consecutive year, knowing that we are delivering the highest quality download services in the industry."

Applied Systems introduced the claims download transaction in 2007, and is still the only technology vendor to offer it. The technology allows carriers to transmit all daily claims activities within nightly download communications with agencies. Agents have welcomed the long-awaited ability to see automatically updated views of complete and accurate customer data. Carriers appreciate the ability to provide additional data to agencies, which makes for better agency efficiency and competitive advantage for the carriers.

"I congratulate Applied Systems on winning another seven ACORD awards and continuing its winning streak for download vendor of the year," said John Kellington, senior vice president of ACORD. "Applied Systems demonstrates leadership by example, continuing to show the industry how vital ACORD data standards implementations are for improving communication and integration."

Chubb is latest carrier to offer claims download

University Park, Illinois -- May 9, 2008 -- Insurance technology company Applied Systems, Inc., today announced another carrier partnership facilitating claims download for agents who use of The Agency Manager (TAM®).

Applied Systems has teamed with The Chubb Group of Insurance Companies to offer Chubb agents and brokers the ability to automatically receive downloaded claims information for both personal and commercial lines.

Chubb joins a growing list of carriers partnering with Applied Systems, including Frankenmuth Mutual, EMC, Fremont, Liberty Mutual, and Safeco as carriers offering claims download to their customers through TAM®.

Applied Systems is the only insurance technology vendor to offer claims download, allowing carriers to transmit all daily claim activities within nightly download communications agencies. This functionality is available at no additional cost for carriers and agencies using TAM® and its interface services.

Similar to existing policy and direct bill download processes, claims download automatically locates corresponding accounts and policies within TAM and creates new records based on the carrier's claim activity. The claims download process complements existing real-time claims inquiry, which allows agencies on-demand views of carrier claims information and loss runs.
