Hoje estou ultra contente por dizer-vos que uma das minhas pulseiras foi usada num editorial - "Little Wild Things" - da BabieKins Magazine! Quando recebi o convite fiquei radiante e estava ansiosa por ver o resultado final, que foi publicado hoje. Foi difícil guardar esta novidade, mas depois de uma má experiência passada*, achei melhor não manter as minhas expectativas demasiado altas e esperar. Espero que gostem e aconselho que explorem bem a revista, que tem óptimos conteúdos e uma fotografia excepcional!

*Resumindo, no ano passado, um dos meus colares de cerâmica foi fotografado para uma revista online portuguesa e, depois de me terem enviado as fotografias finais com a certeza de que seriam publicadas, estas não foram publicadas, e ninguém me avisou. Belo profissionalismo, não é verdade?

Today I'm very excited to tell you that one of my bracelets was used in an editorial - "Little Wild Things" - for BabieKins Magazine! When I got the proposal I was thrilled and then anxious to see the final result that was publish today. It was really hard to keep this news for me, but after a bad experience in the past*, I thought it would be better not to keep my expectations too high and wait. I hope you like and I advise you to explore the magazine, that has great contents and amazing photography!

*Long story short, last year one of my ceramic necklaces was used on a photoshoot for a portuguese online magazine and, after they sent me the final photos with the assurance that they'd be published, they weren't published, and no one warned me. Nice professionalism, right?

Hoje estou apaixonada pelo meu novo par de sapatos! Infelizmente para a minha querida mãe, os sapatos que ela queria não lhe serviram, mas, felizmente para mim, ela viu estes, comprou-mos e fez-me uma surpresa. Obrigada mãe!

Today I'm in love with my new pair of shoes! Unfortunately for my sweet mother, the shoes she wanted didn't fit her, but, fortunately for me, she saw these, got them and surprised me. Thanks mum!

Já todas vocês sabem do meu amor professo pela bimba & lola, por isso aqui está uma amostra da colecção Primavera/Verão 2012. Gosto mesmo muito do corte das roupas, da qualidade dos materiais e da originalidade clássica dos estilos que criam. Só não sei se sou cool o suficiente para comprar estes botins (giríssimas!) que estão em saldos e clamam por mim a altos berros.

You all know of my professed love for bimba & lola, so here's a sample of their Spring/Summer 2012 collection. I really like the cut of the clothes, the quality of the materials and the classic originality of the styles they create. I just don't know if I'm cool enough to buy these (gorgeaus!) boots that are on sale and calling my name out loud.

Hoje o frio chegou em força e, se bem que o sol nos aquece um pouco durante o dia, acho que não há nada melhor do que olhar para o catálogo de Fevereiro da Anthropologie para começarmos a imaginar os dias de Primavera que estão quase ao virar da esquina. Não concordam?

Today the cold that's hitting Europe came running to Portugal and, even with the warm sunlight during the day, I think there's nothing better than looking at the Anthropologie's February catalog to start picturing the Spring days that are just around the corner. Don't you agree?

A segunda exposição que visitámos foi a "A Arte da Guerra - Propaganda da II Guerra Mundial". É bom sermos relembrados de que tudo isto aconteceu, e num passado não tão longínquo quanto possa parecer.

The exhibition we visited was "The Art of War - World War II Propaganda". It's good to be reminded that all of this really happened, and in a past not as distant as it may seem.

A tarde de domingo foi passada no Museu Berardo, e começámos pela exposição do Vik Muniz, um artista plástico brasileiro que usa - literalmente! - todos os tipos de materiais na criação das suas peças (açúcar, terra, caviar, diamantes, jornais, puzzles, etc.). Genial!

Sunday afternoon was spent at Museu Berardo, a contemporary art museum lodged at a big cultural center in Lisbon, right next to some of our most iconic and historical monuments. We started with the exhibition of the works by Vik Muniz, a brazilian artist that - literally! - uses all kinds of materials in his pieces (sugar, dirt, caviar, diamonds, newspapers, puzzles, etc.). Genious!

Ontem fui ver a exposição "Frida Kahlo - As Suas Fotografias", a decorrer no Museu da Cidade. A exposição não é grande, mas, a meu ver, está na medida certa. Se gostam da Frida, apressem-se, pois a exposição acaba amanhã!

Yesterday I went to the Museu da Cidade, in Lisbon, to see the exhibition "Frida Kahlo: Her Photos". The exhibition isn't big, but, to me, that's just right. So, if you like Frida and you happen to be in Lisbon, hurry up because tomorrow is the last day!

As primeiras cinco fotografias são de parte da exposição Fashion Stills, que esteve patente neste hotel até domingo passado. Confesso que, ao andar sozinha pela recepção e bar deste hotel de 5 estrelas, me senti um pouco como um elefante numa loja de cerâmica.

The first five photos are from part of the exhibition Fashion Stills, that was at this hotel until last sunday. I confess that wandering around alone through the lobby and bar of this 5 star hotel made me feel a little bit like an elephant at a ceramics shop.

Às vezes a vida prega-nos partidas e, nessas alturas, todos precisamos de um momento. Não interessa se é longo ou curto. Precisamos dele para retomarmos o fôlego, para nos certificarmos de que a constância dos dias não mudou, para vermos que é no pragmatismo das pequenas rotinas que encontramos segurança.

Domingo estava em Lisboa, dei uma volta a pé e olhei para coisas bonitas. Simples, mas eficaz.

Sometimes life plays tricks on us and, in those times, we all need a moment. It doesn't matter if it's long or short. We need it to catch our breath, to make sure that the constancy of the days hasn't changed, to see that it's in the pragmatism of small routines that we find security.

Sunday I was in Lisbon, I took a walk and looked at pretty things. Simple, yet effective.

Adoro brincos, principalmente quando são ~~roubados~~ herdados de alguém da família. Estes brincos eram da minha mãe e agora uso-os sempre, sem exagero. Sou o tipo de pessoa que, quando gosta de alguma coisa, a usa incessantemente. Como vêm, estou na vanguarda da moda. E vocês, quais são os vossos acessórios/roupa/objectos sem os quais não podem passar?

I love earrings, especially when I ~~steal~~ inherit them from someone in the family. These earrings belonged to my mother and now I wear them all the time, without exaggeration. I'm the kind of person that wears the things she likes constantly. As you can see, I'm at the forefront of fashion. And you, what are the accessories/clothes/objects you can't live without?

Ontem levei a minha avó materna a casa, passei lá a noite e regressei hoje à tarde. Gosto tanto de conduzir que não me importava de ter feito mais alguns quilómetros. Ligo o rádio, canto, falo sozinha, tiro o som ao rádio quando dão notícias e tento apreciar a paisagem.

Yesterday I took my maternal grandmother back home, spent the night there and returned this afternoon. I enjoy driving so much that I wouldn't have mind doing some more kilometers. I turn the radio on, sing, talk to myself, mute the radio when there's news and try to enjoy the scenery.

A minha avó materna veio cá passar uns dias e, por isso, desde segunda-feira que as minhas tardes têm sido passadas em pequenos passeios com as minhas avós (elas são irmãs, por isso fica mesmo tudo em família). Sabe bem.

My maternal grandmother is staying with us for a few days, so, since monday, my afternoons have been spent in short walks with my grandmothers (they're sisters, so everything really stays in the family). It feels good.

Ontem foi dia de jantar com toda a família, por isso resolvi ir à gelataria local buscar a sobremesa. Trouxe uma caixa com quatro sabores: morango (clássico!), iogurte com frutos vermelhos (fresco!), chocolate (divino!) e zuppa inglesa (uma surpresa deliciosa!). Uma boa refeição é aquela que acaba da melhor maneira. Tenham uma óptima noite!

Yesterday there was dinner with the whole family, so I decided to go to the local ice cream shop to get a dessert. I got a box with four flavours: strawberry (classic!), yogurt with red berries (fresh!), chocolate (divine!) and zuppa inglese (a delicious surprise!). A good meal is the one that ends in the best of ways. Have a great evening!
