What was extremely fortunate is that the Volunteer Wildfire Services ground crew, led by a very experienced Crew Leader, who were on the mountain at the time, weren't underneath the helicopter when it was water bombing but they were close enough to assist with the safe evacuation of the pilot from the downed helicopter."
