After 4 weeks of fashion shows the moment I've been waiting for finally arrived in Paris this week when Sarah Burton showed the Alexander McQueen Spring 2012 collection. As usual it was awe inspiring, the detail impeccable and textured.

Admittedly I feel this brand can do no wrong, McQueen simply inspires all things fantasy and not of this world that I love.

Vibrant is the word I'd use to describe the trends Fall/Winter 2011. For those who are holding tight to their "all black everything" ensembles have no fear, there's plenty of that to go around. But if you're looking for something that's going to make a statement let me enlighten you.

The Color Red - This fall favorite is already making a major statement in 2011. The theme will run even stronger in 2012. Don't be afraid to wear red from head-to-toe. Just be sure the occasion is right.

Fur - Let's not kid ourselves, fur is never really out of fashion. As long as women continue to enjoy purchasing luxury goods fur will remain a coveted item. Look for not only fur coats in interesting silhouttes and colors but fur embellishement on shoes and other accessories.

Trend to Try: Color Blocking

One of this seasons biggest trends is color blocking. I love, love, love this trend; just looking at the kaleidoscope of possible color combination's makes me smile.

For those that dress with a matchy-matchy sensibility, throw out all the rules you get dressed by because it's time to try something new. This trend is the opposite of matching. It's the coordination of colors at its highest level.

Done right, the pairing of vibrantly bright colors can create strikingly gorgeous ensembles.

My Alice Shoot: Behind the Scenes

What can I say, Sarah Burton continues to prove her chops heading up the McQueen label. The pre fall 2011 collection offers a very strong male perspective undoubtedly inspired by military garb. The gowns are all woman, the blue floral being my absolute favorite with its intricate petal-like detailing and sheer fabric.

So earlier this week I posted a piece recommending dresses that you could wear for New Years Eve celebrations; but perhaps you don't want to wear a dress.
