			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Another product of <a href="http://architecture4us.com/house/sustainable-prefab-c6-home-by-livinghomes/" target="_blank">LivingHomes</a> has been launched, called C6.2. It also has <em>green architecture</em>, with some <em>sustainable features</em> involved. This <em>prefab</em> house is a smaller version of C6 type which had been launched before.</p>

<p>This <em>sustainable home </em>has ttwo bedrooms and bathrooms. It was designed to fulfill the needs of having smaller house compared to the C6 type, with high energy efficiency and affordable price. It costs only approximately  USD 145 per sq ft excluding the transportation cost. It can be assembled less than two months in the factory and only needs a day to install it, once the foundation is ready. All costs can be controlled below USD 200,000.</p>
<p>Some sustainable features has been provided for this <em>sustainable architecture house</em>. It has Cork flooring. Passive solar system provides good lighting for the interior, supported also by smart lighting system that can be controlled by smartphone. Grey water system and low flow fixtures will provide good water conservation. Materials are chosen from no-VOC materials. Wastes from construction process are recycled.</p>

<p>This house, with its <em>prefab</em> technique can be a good solution for<em> green architecture</em> with high <em>sustainability</em>.</p>

It is located in the White Rock area of British Columbia. It features a modern and lux design completed with <em>sustainable design</em>. <p>This <em>green architecture</em> project was designed by <a href="http://pbelemental.com/" target="_blank">Pb Elemental</a> and prefabricated by <a href="http://www.methodhomes.net/" target="_blank">Method Homes</a> as four modules building. All of these are the project of InHaus Development, including the BeachHaus II. It has three bedrooms, two full bathrooms, two half bathrooms, a two-car garage.</p>

<p>Some <em>sustainable features</em> were provided for this <em><a title="Sustainable Design of Rainbow Duplex by Durfeld Constructors" href="http://architecture4us.com/house/sustainable-design-of-rainbow-duplex-by-durfeld-constructors/" target="_blank">eco construction</a></em>. The house is completed with dual-pane low-E windows, an air-to-water heat exchange system, soy-based spray foam insulation, an automatic skylight, etc.  The using of energy is controlled and monitored. The home is also controlled by Control4 home automation.</p>
<p>This <em>sustainable architecture building</em> is completed with rainwater harvesting system as its water source. All appliances used are taken from water and energy efficient, including the landscaping. Green  materials are taken from FSC-certified woods, bamboos, etc. There is also heat recovery ventilation system.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Paar Residence is a <em>sustainable</em> project created by <a href="http://www.chandlerdesignbuild.com/" target="_blank">Chandler Design-Build</a>, an <em>architecture firm</em> in North Carolina. It was named  as Project of the Year in the Small Volume Single Family category of the 2012 National Green Building Awards. It has high <em>sustainability</em> both in energy and design.</p>

<p>This<em> eco construction</em> was built by using panelized, double-stud wall system. This system will provide more cost effective construction, compared to SIP or ICF materials. Here, it can be seen that   the architect wanted to provide a green architecture, without sacrificing the beauty of the building, but still cost effective.</p>

<p>Some <em>sustainable features </em>were applied, such as air-to-water heat pump, combined with radiant heat and water heater. Solar panels are used as <em>alternative energy</em> source. To provide good insulation, galvanized termite shield foam insulation clip and radon system  were cast into the edge of the concrete. The use of common cinder blocks were also allowed.</p>

<p>This <em><a title="Sustainable Design of Greenhalgh House by CCS Architecture" href="http://architecture4us.com/house/sustainable-design-of-greenhalgh-house-by-ccs-architecture/" target="_blank">sustainable architecture building</a></em> received Energy Star and the National Green Building Standard, ICC-700, just like the other products of the architect. Paar Residence, with its <em>green architecture</em> and its traditional look, becomes a good example of “<em>mainstream green&#8221;</em></p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Whanapoua House is a <em>sustainable house</em> designed by <a href="http://www.ccca.co.nz" target="_blank">Crosson Clarke Carnachan Architects</a>. It is actually a sled model house that can handle a family of five who need their holiday in some different areas. Some <em>green architecture</em> techniques were applied in this house design.</p>

<p>This <em>eco construction</em> were design as sled house to fulfill the client&#8217;s needs of having a holiday house. As they wanted to built it in a coastal erosion zone, on Coromandel Peninsula, the architect then decided to design a movable house. The form reminds us to surf shacks or beach observation towers.  This two story building actually has dining, kitchen, living and bathroom space along with two bedrooms. The unique feature is when the family is not using it, it can close itself up against the elements.</p>

<p>Natural materials were used for this <em><a title="Sustainable Design of Castaway House by The Ranch Mine" href="http://architecture4us.com/house/sustainable-design-of-castaway-house-by-the-ranch-mine/" target="_blank">sustainable architecture building</a></em> house. Wooden materials are dominated, including its two thick wooden sleds that allows its owners to move it as required by local planning regulations. <em>Sustainable</em> water treatment and waste management are available. Family&#8217;s waste are treated in a worm tank system, and two grey water tanks are also available. The front shutter acts also as an awning that may protect the house from harsh sun light while still allowing winter sun to penetrate the interior. A wood fire place is available to control the indoor temperature on winter.</p>
<p>The interior was designed very efficient, where every available space is used, from cabinetry toe spaces to secret cubby holes within the children&#8217;s bunks.</p>

<div>This <em>eco construction</em> was designed and built by utilizing digital design technology.  Imagine a process of drawing a design, then print the design in a media. The design was printed and cut in 820 sheets of plywood media by using CNC printer. This method will provide a detail and high precision products so they can be assembled to create a house, just like if we build a 3D puzzle.</div>

<div>This method also can provide lower waste as all designs can be optimized. By this way, high <em>sustainability</em> can be achieved. PEFC certified woods were taken from <em>sustainable</em> forests for walls and no concrete materials were needed. Emission during construction also can be minimized. Disruption of land also was avoided, the house can be moved easily. Steel materials were used to support the structure, along with screw pile foundations . To maximize natural dayligthing, glass windows were used. For <em>alternative energy</em> source, solar heating system is used.</div>

It has several <em>sustainable features</em> and was built with some <em>green architecture</em> concepts applied.</p>

<p>This <em>sustainable home</em> is owned by Mandala Homes president Lars Chose and partner Rachel Ross. It has hree bedrooms, two and a half bathrooms, a workshop, two outdoor rooms, and a storage room. It also has specific round basic shape,  so views can be maximized.</p>

<p>This <em>eco construction</em> was built utilizing some <em>sustainable building materials </em>such as Western Red Cedar materials as finishing for the exterior and interior,  no-VOC paints and finishes. To conserve energy, this house is completed with good insulation, low energy lightings  (LED and CFL), heat recovery ventilation system, Energy Stars appliances, etc. Deep overhangs are provided also to conserve energy. There is a skylight provided to maximize the daylighting. Solar power is also utilized as one of the <em>alternative energy</em> source.</p>

<p>As this is a <em>prefab house</em>,  it was designed to be easily transported and installed. This type of house is sold around USD 60-90 / sq ft.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>This <em>sustainable</em> House of Maple was designed by <a href="http://www.edward.net/" target="_blank">Edward Suzuki Architecture</a>, built in a mountain resort of Karuizawa, Japan, about an hour of rapid train from Tokyo. <p>This <em>eco construction</em> is dominated by wooden materials, combined by steel materials for peripheral balconies. The passive design concept applied was inspired by Katsura Imperial Villa in Kyoto. Almost all of the sustainable features provided here are taken by natural way, except the radiant hot-water heating.</p>

<p>The <em>green architecture</em> concept can be achieved very well. The air circulation is supported by natural cross ventilation system provided by south facing windows. There are also underground cross ventilation system to protect against humidity. Insulation was considered very well. Natural lighting can be achieved too.Protection from harsh sun lighting is provided by the trees and some extended eaves.</p>

<p>This <em>sustainable home building</em> is a two story building. Some <em>sustainable materials</em>, such as bamboo, metal, wooden materials were used. Metal materials can provide easy maintenance and durability. Reflective silver roofing may reflect the sunlight to control the temperature of the house. Fluorescent and LED lights are also used.</p>

<p>This house was an 1,000 square-foot, abandoned house, built in 1951.  The name, Castaway, was inspired by a film with the same title starred by Tom Hanks. The main upgrades were done in  the form of vented wall and roof designs and extended overhangs. Some <em>sustainable</em> strategies were done in order to renovate this house into an <em>eco friendly construction, </em>especially to provide water conservation and energy saving.</p>

<p>To provide water conservation, this <em>sustainable home building </em>is completed with  two 550-gallon tanks for rainwater collection. The other features are also supported the water saving, such as low-volume irrigation system with evapotranspiration control, and some other water-economic features.</p>
<p>For energy saving, this sustainable home is completed with some energy stars appliances. The design, envelope, and lighting also became important consideration. Insulation applied to protect the house from energy losses. High performance windows were also chosen.</p>

<p>This<em> green architecture building </em>is located in West Hollywood. All of its five apartment units are set in north/south axis. They have 30 ft tall ceilings, and optimized daylight. The materials used are stucco, steel, glass and wood, very simple for apartment building. The floor plan for each apartment is also simple, with  a spacious 1 bedroom, a large open downstairs for living, dining and a kitchen. Open floor plan is applied to allow the owner to customize the plan based on their needs.</p>

<p>This <em>eco construction</em> adopted some <em>sustainable design</em> concepts. The position of the building in the north/south axis will provide good passive design concept. Cross ventilation can be maximized, supported by tall ceilings and operable skylight. Materials were chosen from natural sources and finishings were chosen from non-toxic, no VOC materials. There is also heat recovery ventilation system also which may provide very high SEER. Recycle process was also done to recycle 75% of construction waste.</p>

<p>This <em>sustainable home</em> used 2 shipping containers as its part. They were set in saddlebag formation, connecting local rock outcroppings to the expansive mountain ridge views. The containers house sleeping rooms and working spaces, while the center space covers the entry, dining, living and a loft above. The loft deck has a platform bed that rolls between interior and exterior.</p>

<p>Some <em>sustainable features</em> are designed to be provided for this <em>eco construction</em>. <em>Alternative energy </em>is very important and considered to be used. That&#8217;s why solar <em>photovoltaic</em> panels, and pellet stove heating are considered. Green roofing system is also planned. Passive cooling concept were applied also. Solar orientation becomes an important consideration.</p>
