Modern House Design by Project A01 Architects

2014-02-09T09:23:00.000-08:00

Villa Freundorf is modern house designed by Project A01 Architects near Vienna, Austria. Perfect location, inspiration in futuristic architecture and imagination of very talented architects led to this outstanding modern house design.

On the first sight, this house reminds me a little bit on this ultra modern villa proposed for Arsuf, Israel. Those two homes are great example of the course where modern architecture is heading to. Unusual shapes, minimalist interiors, very clean surfaces and above all, barely visible line between interiors and outdoor living space.

Unusual shape is something I would chose to be the best thing in this modern house. It really creates an opportunity to be creative in design. The house then offers way more than just roof above your head. In this case I love how windows are arranged all over the place, filling the space with so much wanted daylight. Take a look and judge it by yourself.

Modern Kitchen Design by Srecko Vukina

2014-02-03T13:29:00.000-08:00

If you're looking for a beautiful modern kitchen designs, let me show you this lovely kitchen, designed by Srecko Vukina, built in Croatia and assembled in Kurlsruhe, Germany.

Black and white modern furniture defined this kitchen and created ultra modern atmosphere. Large central kitchen island is the focal point, carefully designed to bring interior design to another level. Its wooden surface fits really great into this combination of black and white. But real magic happens at night.

LED lights are placed on particular places around the kitchen to offer something really unique. Take a look at photos and judge it by yourself. What do you think about this design?

Ultra Modern House by architekti.sk, Slovakia

2014-01-27T13:54:00.000-08:00

With the huge number of modern houses being built across the world these days, it's hard to have different, unique, unseen house design. But, with good architect, having a good and unique design shouldn't be the problem. Slovakia's architekti.sk made it.

The Spa House is beautiful ultra modern house located in Slovakia's capital, Bratislava, one of many European cities known for impressive old architecture. Kind of ironic, right? But this only proves that Bratislava was and will be an architecture city.

Spa House is different and unique because of its ultra modern shape. Kind of like this beautiful home. Basement floor is hidden in the ground while another two floors formed beautiful house above the ground. Ground floor offers modern indoor swimming pool and wooden floors and ceiling are something that I find very well done. Rooftop terrace is located above the swimming pool with gaps designed to let the daylight in. Great move. Overall interior design is bright, minimalist, perfect for ultra modern home like this spa house.

Modern Facade on Gorgeous Home by Drucker Arquitetura

2014-01-21T12:00:00.000-08:00

The Morumbi Residence is gorgeous modern home designed by Drucker Arquitetura in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Even though it looks like every other house, there is one thing that catched my attention and forced me to take a better look at this home.

It is modern facade that defines this house. There are many residences with beautiful open and modern facades, like this amazing home where facade is taken to another level by making it green and sustainable. Some facades can be fully closed like on this impressive house. You would easily survive the zombie apocalypse in there.

Open or closed, facades are like faces of our homes, therefore, they define them and make them beautiful, impressive, ugly, modern, traditional, etc. Speaking of this home, that minimalist two floor tall glass wall is just amazing. With all the palm trees planted in the backyard, it creates beautiful atmosphere. Interiors look wide open almost like there's nothing between interiors and outdoor living space. And piano fits there as well. What do you think?

House With Swimming Pool That Will Blow You Away

2014-01-14T15:28:00.000-08:00

Every modern home has one interesting feature, part of it which defines the house or property, attracts attention or sends some message. Even if you haven't noticed this before, you will if you take a closer look. And today I will show you the house with swimming pool that cannot be unnoticed.

Jellyfish House, as it is called (that is one awesome name for the house, don't you think?) is pretty amazing piece of modern architecture, designed by Wiel Arets Architects (WAA) in Urbanización los Monteros, Marbella, Málaga, Spain. You will spot the "defining part" in this house very easily. It is this impressive (now watch this) cantilever swimming pool on the roof, with transparent bottom and glass wall. How many times did you seen house with swimming pool like this?

Another thing that defines this house is exposed concrete, just like black concrete does in this modern home and this residence. Only this time it is white, but not less attractive and definitely not less modern. As you can imagine, interiors are open and very bright. And that glass swimming pool wall helps a lot in reflecting daylight and creating unique modern atmosphere with its blue color. All in all, very interesting, unique and impressive place. It is not "the house with swimming pool" you used to see. Innovative approach created beautiful piece of modern architecture and that's why architect got huge thumbs up from world of architecture.

Amazing Home With Impressive Green Roof, Singapore

2014-01-13T14:57:00.000-08:00

It's not very often that I stumble upon an amazing home like this one. But when I do, I make sure you see it too. Today's piece of modern architecture I found is this interesting home designed by Guz Architects in Santosa Island in Singapore.

Santosa is very popular island resort with over 2 kilometre long beach, golf courses and many other beautiful parks. As you can imagine (or remember if you ever went there) island is full of greenery, vegetation and gardens. Imagine what regulations and rules one house needs to fulfill in order to get permission to be built there. But, instead of choosing the easy way, Guz Architects accepted the challenge and turned this into the opportunity to build one amazing home.

Sky Garden House offers 852 square meters of amazing living space. It is designed to fully blend with gorgeous nature around it. Definitely the most noticeable and most impressive feature on this amazing house is green roof. This is something you don't see very day. I believe I've posted only one house similar to this one and if I remember right, that was the Wall House, located in Singapore as well. Singapore really kicks ass when it comes to amazing modern homes. I strongly recommend to check them out here.

Going back to impressive Sky Garden House, I would also love to mention those brilliant curved stairs. You've probably seen this photo many times on the internet. Now you can see the rest of this house. Besides awesome stairs there is also very cool swimming pool glass wall facing the house and creating very unique atmosphere. All in all, very impressive and amazing home. What do you think?

Elegant Modern House in West Vancouver, Canada

2014-01-08T14:00:00.000-08:00

Still inspired by yesterday's perfect romantic home, I stumbled upon this elegant modern house located in West Vancouver, Canada's British Columbia. Burkehill Residence, as it's called, is designed by Craig Chevalier and Raven Inside Interior Design studio who designed those gorgeous contemporary interiors.

Before you enter, you will be welcomed by the tall glass wall with beautiful modern wooden entrance doors. And stone facade fits there perfectly. This house is good candidate for the next "Modern entrance design ideas" post. Upon entering into this architectural masterpiece, you will notice those beautiful wooden stairs with glass bender. Very modern and very elegant. And I specially liked those tiny little lights on the floor, lighting up the wall.

Next thing you will probably notice is wide open dining room with the bay view which is just another plus for modern home like this. Love the chairs. Kitchen offers dark contemporary furniture and lovely large kitchen island with minimalist bar chairs. A few green plants fit there perfectly. If you're still not satisfied with this house, check out the living room. Stone fireplace surrounded with glass walls and gorgeous bay views? Oh yes. Want more? Take a look at the home office. I noticed one thing there, very smart thing that I simply adore. Notice how easily you can work on office table and your computer? This solution is award winning!

Bedroom view offers bay as well, fulfilled with green trees spreading across the hills. And there's is of course modern terrace with outdoor fireplace and cliff-edge swimming pool. How much is this house worth? Let me help you a little bit, it is recently sold for $7.3 million. Worth the money? I say it is. What do you think?

Incredible Romantic Home Above the Ocean, California

2014-01-07T13:11:00.000-08:00

Rockledge Residence is seriously one of the most incredible houses I've ever seen. It is romantic home designed by Horst Architects in cooperation with Aria Design. The house is located on the cliffs of Laguna Beach in California, offering views about which we can only dream about.

Let's start out on the terrace. This place is already pretty amazing by itself and actually reminds me on this beautiful home in Dana Point. Comfy white chairs by the modern outdoor fireplace and romantic views like this? And there is gorgeous two-level swimming pool with waterfall. Perfection is already reached if you ask me. Inside of this romantic house, modern living room offers the same level of comfort with the same killer ocean views. Not to mention romantic sunset experience offered in a dining room.

And I have no words for the bedroom. I can only imagine what is like to wake up there or lay down. This is one outstanding and incredibly romantic dream home, definitely one of my favorites. Ever. Interior design is so elegant, minimalist, modern. Brown-ish colors fit perfectly with deep blue ocean or orange-red sunset colors. I bet this creates an amazing atmosphere. How do you like it?

Elegant Home for Modern Gentleman, New Zealand

2014-01-06T07:53:00.000-08:00

Lucerne Residence is modern home designed by Daniel Marshall Architects in Orakei Basin, Auckland. Orakei Basin is one of the volcanoes in the Auckland Volcanic Field which after last eruption about 85,000 years ago became a freshwater lake. Pretty cool location for a home, right?

Besides literally sitting on a volcano, another reason I like this home is because it has style. It is elegant, minimalist, with perfect combination of darker and lighter colors. I called it "home for modern gentleman" because of that exact elegance and style this modern house has. Yeah, and that classic German car helps too, right? The house reminds me on this modern home in Venice.

Interior are gorgeous as well. Very elegant, clean decor. Open floor plan layout makes it modern, well lit and connected. Marble kitchen island gives dose of luxury and just bolds that elegance. I also love this dark modern furniture. Exterior facade is also quite unique. Everything is designed to send a message "those people have style". Do you agree?

Sharp Modern Home With Killer Views of Los Angeles

2014-01-05T09:31:00.000-08:00

8320 Grand View Drive is the address of this sharp modern home located on Sunset Strip, the mile-and-a-half (2.4 km) stretch of Sunset Boulevard that passes through West Hollywood, California. The house is recently sold for more than $3 million.

Sunset Strip is one of the most famous locations in the world. It is known for numerous modern mansions built across the hills, offering the most expensive views you can find in the world of real estate. People who follow world of architecture for some time now probably remember this modern house, Blue Jay Way Villa and this modern multimillion mansion and you know what I'm talking about. If you haven't seen those homes, make sure you do now.

8320 Grand View Drive is in the same category of luxury homes. Its rooftop terrace will definitely make it up to you if you're not satisfied with the view from 2 floors below. Corner living room offers experience like you've never felt before. Specially at night when lights of Los Angeles go on. It is magical. My favorite room in this magnificent modern home is definitely the bedroom. It is located above dining room, overlooking the living room and through two storey tall glass wall, all Los Angeles. Decor of whole house is very elegant and bright. Very Hollywood-ish.

Dominant Modern Mansion by GLR Arquitectos

2014-01-04T08:41:00.000-08:00

Is there any better way to open new year than with this beautiful modern mansion? The place is called CH House and it is designed by GLR Arquitectos in Monterrey, the capital city of the northeastern state of Nuevo León in the country of Mexico.

First thing I noticed is that minimalist modern facade makes this modern mansion quite dominant over its surroundings. And black panels on the upper floor are just making the house stand out even more. Property is gated with tall concrete fence which hides gorgeous swimming pool with waterfall and fountain along with terrace. Very beautiful and nicely designed. This home will definitely go into "modern homes with pools" post this year.

When mansion looks so dominant from the outside, you can imagine how it looks inside. We haven't seen interiors so large and so open on "world of architecture" yet. Exposed concrete walls are rising to the roof, making the ceilings seriously tall. I have no idea how they clean this home. This design created opportunity for something I seriously love. Interior glass walls on the upper floor, overlooking the ground floor with living room and dining room. It's perfect and very impressive looking.

Another thing I would like to mention is modern bathroom. With beautiful white bathtub, glass shower cabin and shiny wooden walls, it is one of the most beautiful modern bathrooms I've seen. I would love to own it. What do you think?

Ultra Modern Concrete House by A-cero Architects

2013-12-29T08:27:00.000-08:00

Concrete lovers and futurists, this is for you. Famous A-cero architecture office from Spain designed this ultra modern home called Concrete House 2. It is fabulous residence literally built into the landscape. Combination of black concrete and green grass.

Joaquin Torres and Rafael Llamazares, founders of A-cero office often seek for inspiration in the work of Le Corbusier and Mies van der Rohe, which is reflected in their earlier projects like The Memory House and Sotogrande House. But, instead of perfectly white colors like in Sotogrande House, this ultra modern residence is pure black futurism.

Even though some may say it's too much atomic shelter-looking, I think this design fits perfectly in the futuristic atmosphere. You know, the post apocalypse times? Anyway, another thing I like about this home is landscape design. Slanted walls are perfect for green walls with the grass planted over. The same thing on the roof. This is also big step in sustainability since this creates great temperature isolation, no matter is it summer or winter. Plus, it looks nice, doesn't it? Specially the grass stairs. This is one detail that really catched my eye.

Interior design is of course, minimalist with gray-ish colors. Glass walls let in enough of daylight to light up the whole house and its futuristic interiors. Modern home theater? My favorite. It really looks like a lot of fun. What do you think?

Refreshing Brazilian Home by Reinach Mendonça Arquitetos Associados

2013-12-29T05:35:00.000-08:00

MG Residence is beautiful refreshing home designed by Reinach Mendonça Arquitetos Associados in western Sao Paulo, Brazil. Its open floor plan layout allows nice communication between indoor and outdoor living space which is perfect for the place with weather like Sao Paulo.

Starting from the street, the house is literally surrounded with huge palm trees. Which is great, they provide much needed shade and create nice exotic atmosphere. Wooden doors on white facade are also pointing out on warm and fresh atmosphere. The "T" shaped, 25-meter long swimming pool in the backyard is designed to fulfill needs of the family whose passion is swimming.

The house itself offers 4 floors of contemporary living space with 10 car garage in the basement. My favorite part of this home is modern living room with double floor ceiling. Glass walls on the ground floor allow that connection with the backyard that we usually see in today's modern homes. Plus, you can jump into the swimming pool from your living room. How cool is that. I also love wooden textures on the upper floor. Looks great among all that glass and concrete.

2013-12-26T09:51:00.000-08:00

Impressive Dream Home in Singapore by a-dlab

2013-12-24T06:40:00.000-08:00

Now this is something you don't see every day. This modern home is definitely something that you can't miss while passing by, even though Singapore is full of impressive homes like this. This dream home is called Andrew Road Residence and it's designed by a-dlab.

Andrew Road residence is a 650 square meter dream home, built this year (2013) for one lucky family. Property is located in famous central Singapore, overlooking the MacRitchie Reservoir, Singapore's oldest reservoir. Story behind the shape of this impressive dream home is quite interesting. According to the architects, terrain is quite undulating with the highway behind the house. All this creates unwanted noise, so architects had to think outside the box to solve this issue and offer peaceful and calm home atmosphere.

Entrance with covered parking lot is located on the street level while rest of the house is sunken and adjusted to the terrain. All this defined impressive shape of this home which is something I like the most here. Besides green roofs and overall landscape design around the house, I would like to say I definitely adore those glass walls which could easily be completely closed with wooden blinds, hidden swimming pool and terrace which can only be seen from the air and bridges connecting separated parts of this dream home.

Speaking of interior design, I have no words to describe it. It's perfect. Minimalist with combination of white marble and dark wood and there's also glass and other modern materials which turned this residence into amazing modern home. I'm done. Take a look at those pictures and floor plans to better understand this dream home. Hope you love it as much as I do. Great work architects.

Stunning Spa House in Cape Town, South Africa

2013-12-17T13:23:00.000-08:00

Architects from Metropolis Design created this gorgeous modern South African home on incredible location, the Hout Bay, a coastal suburb of beautiful Cape Town, overlooking the valley.

If you read World of Architecture for some time now, you probably noticed all those beautiful modern homes located in South Africa, like this modern villa or amazing Plett 6541+2 Home by SAOTA. If you're new, feel free to check "South Africa" tag on the sidebar. Speaking of Spa House, this stunning modern home is designed to let its residents feel the nature around it.

The house is not large, but impressive swimming pool is there to impress you. Terrace occupies 1/ of the area while swimming pools takes other 3/4. Interesting thing is room below terrace with windows looking into the swimming pool, offering mystic and unique atmosphere. Interior and exterior decor is focused on wood whose texture makes nice contrast to blue color of the swimming pool while glass is there to fill the gaps.

New Town Home Decorated in Old Neve Tzedek Style, Israel

2013-12-12T15:12:00.000-08:00

For those who love a little bit of history in architecture and design, here's a beautiful home decorated in 1930s Tel-Aviv Design, located in the capital of Israel, Tel Aviv. The house is designed by Dubi Witt and of course, photographed by my friend Itay Sikolsky.

According to the architects, house is designed in the style of old Neve Tzedek. Speaking of furniture, kitchen cabinets are decorated with vintage refrigerator handles and hinges. Pretty cool and good looking. For the central kitchen island is used old oak tree while coffee table in the living room has old iron wheels from railroad trolley. The house is full of vintage details.

On the upper floor is children's room with puppet theater, bedroom with suspended bed and charming home office. Because of slanted roof, upper floor gives atmosphere like attic. The house is definitely not large, but its charm and atmosphere are priceless. Especially for someone who loves vintage decor.

"Neve Tzedek is established in 1887, 22 years before the 1909 founding of the City of Tel Aviv. A group of Jewish families, seeking to move outside of over-crowded old Jaffa, built the new settlement.

In the following years the area suffered from neglect, the old houses and streets crumbling away. Only in the 1980's, the place recaptured its former prestige, and has since become an attractive residential area with plenty of restaurants, galleries and designer shops. The architecture of Neve Tzedek is definitely one of the highlights in the area. Attached houses on 80 to 270 sq/m plots characterize the area.

"Witt architect" Office is situated and works in New Tzedek since 1991. Issues such as privacy in a dense area, the quality of space and the important role of the court are major factors taken into consideration while planning in an area such as Neve Tzedek. The relationship between the inner space and the outer space, giving a wider experience of space especially on such small plots. An experience that brings us the air, light and nature making it an integral part of our living space.

This new house was designed on a 270 sq/m plot. The plan resembles the old plans of houses in Neve Tzedek containing the main house with a small room outside in the court. A room that in old houses was used as a toilet. Although the facade where simple, in the inner spaces of old Neve Tzedek you see colorful tiles and beautiful wall paintings.

The simplicity of the outside facade and the inner richness was kept in the new plan. This townhouse contains a living area, kitchen and dining area on the ground floor plus a small studio separated from the main building. The ground floor is strongly connected to the outside court. On the second floor are the bedrooms and in the basement there is a tv room plus parking area. Many of the non fixed furniture was bought and restored in the flee market off old Jaffa."
-Dubi Witt

My good friend Itay also photographed some other amazing homes in Israel, like this incredible triplex penthouse and even new Google office, so take a look and enjoy!

Appealing Modern Jaragua Residence in São Paulo, Brazil

2013-12-11T14:37:00.000-08:00

Brazil just got richer for another gorgeous piece of modern architecture. Jaragua Residence is appealing modern home designed by Fernanda Marques on the hills of São Paulo, Brazil.

Front facade is defined by the bold lines of white concrete, especially upper floor while ground floor is mostly hidden by green vegetation. With dark wooden textures inside, that makes first floor look like it floats, which is pretty cool design trick if you ask me. Rear elevation is, of course, more open with balconies overlooking backyard with swimming pool and offering beautiful city views. Terraces and balconies especially look good at night with lights turned on.

Interiors are really huge, with open floor plan layout. Combination of white concrete and wooden surfaces continued on the interior design, visually connecting interiors and exterior. Furniture is modern, mostly white or light gray and I specially liked blue chairs standing out nicely from the rest. Double height floors and minimalism created wide open space with daylight reaching deeply into the house through floor-to-ceiling glass windows. I also noticed gorgeous floating stairs and decided I want one! Kitchen is worth mentioning as well. It's not large but it's definitely charming in some modern way.

White Interior Design in Modern Sea Shell Home, Israel

2013-12-07T12:26:00.000-08:00

Sea Shell home is modern residence located in Israel. Its brand new interiors are designed by Angela Lanciano and Cher Sela of Lanciano Design. Focus was put on clean white decor, modern furniture and lots of daylight reflecting through the house.

Starting in the living room, walls are open towards partly covered large terrace with swimming pool. Living room is not particularly large but offers cozy modern furniture and friendly atmosphere. Shelf in the wall with blue LED light is also nice touch. Right next to the living room, contemporary staircase leads up to the first floor and down in the basement. Thin glass wall fits perfectly with overall white interior design.

Since the floor plan is in "L" shape, dining room and kitchen also have access to terrace which means only one, more daylight. Kitchen features white modern furniture as well while dining room has black table which fits perfectly as contrast. To me kitchen looks incredibly attractive and I simply love it. Small windows also play important role in all this charm. On the upper floor is modern home office, bedroom where bed is placed in the middle, two additional bedrooms and contemporary bathroom with walk in closet.

While some might think all this white in interior design is too much and say how decor looks too sterile, I think it has something charming, welcoming and very warm. It is definitely one of my favorite white interiors.
