November 2008: At Ardent Pets we are always looking at giving the best value for money so have restructured our delivery prices to the UK. The main change is the introduction of three more price bands meaning that many of our pet accessories weighing over 500g will now have a cheaper delivery cost which should help our customers budgets. Hello on a foggy Saturday morning

Well I have been thinking and it is about time I changed this blog from just a place where new products and sales are added to a more friendly in site to the week that has just gone in the world of Ardent Pets

So where do I start, firstly our new website highstreetprices.com finally properly launched on Wednesday due to a few technical clinches,why is it always the same when computers are involved? anyway in our first few days we have managed to get 70 visitors so maybe I am getting the hang of this getting people to a website.

The 0ther big development this week has been the change in rules on how our items in our eBay store show up in the eBay listings, instead of being based on "ending soonest" you appear under a system called "best match", catchy I know, this just means if you have a good rep and sell a lot of one item you will get placed better. Personally I haven't worked out what affect this will have on our eBay sales but will report back next week ,although initially in a bizarre twist it seemed to increase the sales on our website (Ardentpets.co.uk), probably just coincidence!

So you might be asking what else has happened this week, well there was some good news a Litter Kwitter that seem to be lost somewhere in the English Channel safely arrived with a happy customer at its destination in France. If you are thinking what the hell is a Litter Kwitter then why not take a look at the video at the bottom of the blog.

Request of the week has to go to a customer asking if we can get "River Shrimp" for their Turtle, personally I had never heard of such a product but thankfully after some research we can indeed get some in!!

Well on that positive note that's it for this week hopefully you found this blog a much better read, I'm now off to make the most important decision of the week, who to bring in for the injured Deco in my fantasy football team, you know it's tough at the top

At a time when everything seems to be rising in price (apart from petrol at the moment), credit seems to have a nasty crunch and the stock market doesn't seem to know whether it is coming and going.

This is our new product ratings system that has just come online, the system allows existing customers to log into their account so they can rate our products on a 1 - 5 star system, it also allows you to leave comments about the product or even about the service received.

The ratings look like the first one left by one of our customers

Is Your Pet Ready To Let The New Year In With A Bang?

If the November fireworks season was an ordeal for your furry friend there is plenty you can do to ease them into the New Year. Fireworks are an increasingly popular and noisy way to celebrate but are not enjoyed by all. Noise phobias can limit the quality of life for many pets and indeed people. They tend to gradually progress with every phobic event unless steps are taken to change how your pet views the fearful stimuli.

Steps can be taken to help your pet cope with their fear in a safe manner. Many pets will try to escape before and during firework displays which can result in injuries ranging from torn nails to broken bones. The pet most likely to be injured is often the one who uses their owner to cope until there is an unexpected bang and their owner is out e.g. 4th July or Divali

As we are now just a week away from Christmas time is running out to get your items before Christmas so why not order today at Ardent Pets - http://www.ardentpets.co.uk/ so you don't miss out on getting that perfect gift for your pet.

Unfortunately the last Christmas posting dates have passed for overseas customers and those wishing to order large items such as Cages, Hutches and other items weighing over 3.5kgs but its not all doom and gloom, orders under 3.5kgs from UK customers still have up to midnight on the 19th December to catch the last First Class Christmas posting date.

Otherwise we will be dispatching as normal right up to the 21st December, but please be aware of the date above to ensure delivery before Christmas
