After fourteen years of dating, Fahm and Xahmeng finally got married and had their wedding at the Timber Creek Ballroom in Roseville, Ca. About a year ago, I was invited to experience their traditional Mien wedding in Merced and this weekend I was able to document their American wedding at Timber Creek. It was a joy sharing this special day with them and an honor to photograph all the great moments at this wedding. I feel very fortunate to call this couple my friends! Here are some of my favorites from the day. Big ups to Rob Her and Sam Vannasopha for coming out to Roseville help me with this wedding! You guys rock.

Aloha friends and family! I’m so very happy to announce that my Hawaii trip has lead to an engagement with my girlfriend. We started the day going around different places in Hawaii to take lots of pictures on self-timer.

One of the highlights from our trip was our moped ride to Hanauma Bay to go snorkeling in the rain!

After taking pictures at a couple locations, we ended up at Kailua Beach where I felt it was the right time. I set up the camera on self timer and composed the shot as if I was going to take a picture. When I went down to Kat, she continued to pose for a picture, as she’s doing the entire day. She had no idea until I got down on one knee and pulled out the ring.

Here’s a short video clip of my proposal. It’s totally out of focus, but it still makes me smile every time I watch it.

Here’s an engagement session at the Dolphin Bay Resort in Pismo Beach with Gina and Peter. It was raining during their engagement session, so we decided to shoot around Dolphin Bay. Gina and Peter will be getting married here at the Dolphin Bay Resort later this year, so these photos are just a prelude to some awesome wedding photography. It’s going to be super-fantastic.

Hi everyone! My girlfriend and I are planing to take a vacation in Hawaii this upcoming March an would appreciate any tips or recommendations you might have for us. This will be our first time on the famous island ever so we’re very excited about this trip. At the same time, I’m also overwhelmed by all the things we can do there! It would be awesome if you can help us come up with a list of the top activities to do while in Hawaii. We’re planing to stay in the Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort & Spa in Honolulu. It’s going to be a total of five days of exploration on the island, so any advice or tips to fill up our itinerary would be very helpful. Thank you friends!

Who: Wedding photography workshop with Ari Simphoukham for beginners and amateur photographers.

What: This will be a one day beginners workshop for people looking to improve their photography skills and have a better understanding of the functions of their camera.

When: February 28, 2012.

Where: San Luis Obispo, Ca and live shooting in Pismo Beach, Ca.

Why: I’m holding this workshop for the people who are interested in improving their photography skills. I’ve been getting tons of request from people who just got a new SLR camera and don’t know how to use it. I will be teaching you the basics about your camera and how you can utilize the different modes on your camera to take great photos.

I will help you:

* Be in control of your camera by shooting in manual mode

* Understand exposure and how to control it

* Improve your compositions

* Understand light and the different types of light and how you can control it to improve your photos.

* How I edit my photos and process them on Lightroom and Photoshop.

*We will go out to shot and there will be an actual couple there to model for us.

How: The cost of admission is only a donation of at least $50 to the charity of your choice. All you have to do is show me proof of your donation. You will also have to give me a fully refundable deposit of $50. The full $50 will be retured to you at the workshop. This is to let me know that you are serious about coming to learn. If you do not show up, your money will go into my piggy bank.
