I've always loved Da'Brat. If I've ever had a girl crush...I'd say it's always been Ms. Shontae. I first saw her in person at my son's Godfather's Birthday Celebration in Atlanta. He was dating Brat's mom Nadine; and he was trying to pull Da Brat away from JD..but of course that never happened.

Well I happened to see her a couple more times, and then she was incarcerated with one of my very dear family members in Georgia..So I've always kinda felt like "we're friend's in my head" lol

Anyway, I think this is the first video she has done since she's been home for jail. It's not the best video...but it's Hot Start. Check it out:

Nee-Nee and I @ her 45th Birthday Party

Wow, Nee Nee as I call her. The girl with the freckles. I love her to life and Nee Nee has been my dear friend since the 11th grade at Crossland High School in PG, Maryland. This girl saved me too many times to mention, she was always kinda the balance or calmness to my storm. Anyway, we've done everything together. After high school and graduation we always kept in touch but I eventually moved to GA. That didn't stop us though, we are each others children's godmothers; we've had weddings (she was my maid of honor) We both ripped and ran up and down I-95 from DC to the A. We've done vacations, sleep overs, friends and everything in between. I'm truly grateful to have a friend like Nee Nee..So even though her birthday was May 20th I wanted to be sure and give her a shout out here.

Founder's Day @ the Law Firm

Me and the crew (Fish, TB & I) went to our Law Firm's Founder's Day event at the Rusty Scuppers Restaurant in Downtown Baltimore. We really had a good time. I went for the first time last year and I wasn't too impressed. First of all, The Rusty Scupper is a seafood restaurant but there was no seafood on the menu. (boo) My babe Fish couldn't make it at the last minute, not to mention it was stifling hot and boring.

But this year it was nice. The food was free and good, (still not seafood but tasty), Kenny, my co-worker who referred me to my current job position and I actually let by gones be by gones and enjoyed each others camaraderie. My baby Fish was on his best bullshit, and TB and I parlayed as only we can do. We laughed and joked, walked the pier and just all out had a good time. Drinks were free and the herbs were flowing...it took me all damn weekend to recuperate. ROFLMAO but I really enjoyed myself.

I did have a picture of TB and Fish but I somehow deleted it on this crazy new international piece of crap ass phone I have..so we'll settle for a pic of the Skyline behind the Rusty Scupper.

Revamping Aries Urban Spot

Ok, it's June 2013 and I'm always evolving. I've been blogging for a little over 6 years now. it's a big stress reliever and enjoy doing the research that comes along with Blogging. Aries Urban Spot was actually created because I love to read, I love music, the entertainment news & business, I'm interested in Black studies; Black history and so much more. Aries Urban Spot was supposed to be my outlet for all those things. I feel like I've done a pretty good job, but what eventually happened is, I post sometimes *hot and heavy* an then other times, my posts just dribble in. Especially when news is slow or shallow.

Now I'd like to take Aries Urban Spot in a different direction. Instead of just posting abut everybody else; I'm actually gonna get a little personal and make the blog more about me; and how all those things make me feel or affect me. I'd also like to have some reader participation so we'll see how things go.

My prayer is that you guys will continue to follow and read "Aries Urban Spot" Peace

Lauryn Hill Sentenced to 3 Months in Jail

Damn Damn Damn...today our girl L Boogie; Ms. Lauryn Hill has been sentenced to three months in jail for failure to pay her federal income taxes. She failed to pay to the tune of $1.8 million for years 2005 - 2007 but she also didn't file in 2008 - 2009.

Not only does she have to turn herself in for her three month stay on July 8 but Lauryn's also still responsible for penalties and taxes still owed, a $60K fine and she has to serve a year on probation; unless her attorney files an appeal.

Wow, her attorney's have said she's paid in full thanks to her new contract with Sony Worldwide Entertainment but she's still gotta do the time. I wish her peace and blessings going forward.

Kriss Kross' Chris Kelly - Dead @ 34 of Suspected Speedball Overdose

Chris Kelly of the rap duo Kris Kross is dead at the age of 34. Chris famous for songs like "Jump Jump" and for being the Mack Daddy has died after a bout of depression and drug use.

According to the police report Kelly had been using a combination of cocaine and heroin the night before his death. Paramedics initially responded to Kelly’s Atlanta home around 3pm est— after his mother called 911 asking for medical
assistance. When help arrived, paramedics found 34-year-old Kelly lying on the living room couch — unresponsive and with “no life signs.” The medics attempted to revive Kelly, to no avail.

Kelly was immediately transported to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead a few hours later. After the death, cops spoke with Donna Kelly Pratt — Chris’ mother — who told police … the night before Kelly’s medical emergency, he had taken a mixture of heroin and cocaine — commonly known as “speedballs.”

Donna told police she had personally taken Kelly home to recover from the drug use … just as she had done several times before. Donna told cops Kelly felt nauseous all morning before passing out. According to the report, Kelly’s mother and Kelly’s uncle both told investigators the rapper had an “extensive history of drug use.”

“The family is trying to get beyond what has happened and we’ve lost him. That’s basically where we’re at right now,” said Kelly’s former manager, Mike Mauldin. An autopsy to determine the cause of death is to be performed today (Thursday).

“We just want to thank everybody for all the well wishes and everything that’s coming in right now,” said Mauldin. Kelly and Chris “Daddy Mac” Smith were discovered by Jermaine Dupri. Their first album, Totally Krossed Out, sold more than 4 million copies, according to Billboard magazine, making the boys national stars at the age of 14. They were known for wearing their pants backwards. We’ve learned fans will be wearing their pants backward today to honor Chris.

After three albums, the two pursued solo careers. They recently reunited So So Def’s 20th Anniversary concert. After that appearance, the duo was thinking of a relaunch. “We’re going to miss him. He was a young man. Had a lot left. We were blessed to have him,” said Mauldin.

Kelly’s mother, Donna Kelly Pratte, along with The So So Def Family released a statement early Thursday morning, saying..

“It is with deep sadness that we announce that our beloved Chris Kelly has passed away on May 1. To millions of fans worldwide, he was the trendsetting, backwards pants-wearing one-half of Kris Kross who loved making music. But to us, he was just Chris – the kind, generous and fun-loving life of the party. Though he was only with us a short time, we feel blessed to have been able to share some incredible moments with him. His legacy will live on through his music, and we will forever love him.”

Well, if your anything like me you saw the lady on the news yesterday who won the $40 million in the Canadian Lottory and initially thought she had only won $40K.

Well check this out. The money isn't as much as Canada's newest winner but let me introduce you to Sharon Tirabassi.

Ms. Tirabassi the mother of six kids went from jet-setter to pauper. She won $10 Million in the Canadian Lotto Super 7 nine years ago. Today she is dead broke and lives in a rental home. (wth?)

The current personal support worker or home health aide now catches the bus to work or rides her Hot Pink bike because her Cadillac Escalade needs repairs she can not afford. (Jeesh)

NewsOne reports that the one time lottery winner lived in shelters most of her young life and then didn't get a financial planner once she won the money, so she lost everything she had acquired; including family and friends. Her husband who bought three children into the family making it a total of nine kids, also did a 18 month stint in the pokey for drinking, driving and bodily harm and that seems to be the straw that broke the camels back because she then lost her home.

Once the proud owners of a home, four vehicles and designer clothes the couple does not regret the fun they had spending the winnings and say they did learn a valuable lesson: “money is the root of all evil.”

That's a understatement.

Just got word today from RiRi Fenty's Twitter that she and her boo Chris Breezy are still on and popping contrary to all the blog and news posts suggesting otherwise. Not too mention I posted a pic on my Facebook page yesterday of Chris in the audience at her show earlier this week.

Just because people argue and fuss and then take a breather doesn't mean the love they have for each other is not there. I can personally attest to that.

I know I know, they had the trumoltuous fight a couple years ago and people think they shouldn't be together. Evidently boyfriend has learned his lesson, nor do I think that Rihanna will stand for that a second time. So just give them a break.

Don't they look happy???
I really wish the two of them the best of luck with there relationship. They're still young, they love each other and have a lot of growing to do but that doesn't mean they shouldn't try.

Did Kelly Rowland Get a Nose Job? I don't know and these pictures taken the 4/10/13 at the ELLE Women in Music Celebration at The Edison Ballroom in NY.

The pic here does show some special attention given to her nostril area but I can't be sure it's Rhinoplasty. It might just be contouring. (it works miracles)

Do you think that Kelly had what some people call a "Big Nose" ; I don't so why would she have rhinoplasty done? Again, not sure about that either but here's to hoping she didn't. Cheers!

It shouldn't be a secret to anyone that Rihanna pushes the sexual envelope when it comes to her music. I mean one of her latest songs "Cockiness"; (which I happen to love by the way) says:

The one and only Jacky Jasper is in talks with Erica Mena of Love & Hip Hop fame to put Rihanna on blast about a past escapade in which Rihanna made Ms. Mena's Love Come Down. SMH....

It all goes back to a few years ago when Mena found her self high as kite in the back of a SUV with none other than Ms. RiRi Fenty herself.
