Burglar Shot By Accomplice and Other Random Acts Of Justice

Nathaniel James Clay and a couple of friends allegedly thought it would be easy to steal some stuff from a house and make some quick cash. But what he got was a bullet from one of his friends instead as they tried to burglarize a home in Melbourne, Florida.

The homeowner forcefully tried to protect his property as he caught the men stealing from him. He started pounding Nathaniel James Clay (pictured below) with a baseball bat. One of his armed accomplices came to his rescue and tried to shoot the burglary victim. The thus fired but hit Clay Atkinson several times, and missed the home’s occupant.

The three home invaders took off out the back door, but clay dropped in his tracks in the yard. His buddies ran off. Clay is recovering and will be arrested for Home Invasion.

In Indianapolis:

Kroger grocery stores have a policy prohibiting employees from carrying firearms while on the job. That policy is being put to the test in Indianapolis where a thug was shot in the face and killed by a Kroger employee as he tried to pull off an armed robbery there. Jeremy Atkinson (pictured below) approached a store manager and put a hard object against her back and demanded cash. A young Kroger employee saw what was happening and fired four times, hitting the robber in the face. Atkinson expired at an Indianapolis hospital later. Police haven’t said what that hard object that Atkinson used was.

Kroger is investigating the shooting. Employees at other businesses with a similar policy have been fired for violating policy after they stop an armed robbery with the gun the company forbids. We’ll see if the hero here ends in the unemployment line because of this heroic act.

Armed robber Atkinson was a frequent flyer as an armed robber. He was convicted of armed robbery of a Subway several years ago. There was also an active arrest warrant out for him for parole violation for that armed robbery after spending about two years in prison.

In Detroit:

An alleged burglar, fresh out of prison as a parolee, was shot three times by the 63 year old retired cop in a home where he was caught. The home’s occupant heard a knock at the front door, but ignored it because he was expecting a package delivery. Then officer then heard a pounding on his side door, went to investigate, saw someone in the house. He went back to his bedroom and returned to the room with his gun in hand. The home’s occupant feared for his life and shot Ronnie Dee Mixon (pictured below) three times.

Mixon fled the house and got into a getaway car waiting outside. He was driven to a Detroit hospital where the staff called police as he was being treated for the three bullet wounds. He had been convicted on three previous home invasion burglaries. Its alleged that Mixon made incriminating statements to police at the hospital.

The officer may be considering some fresh range time.

In Las Vegas:

Just a few Miles from the History Channel’s “Pawn Stars” Gold and Silver Pawn shop is, another would be armed robber was shot dead by a Cash America Super Pawn employee as he tried to rob the shop. Many pawn shop employees are armed for this reason. That was the case when the unnamed handgun carrying robber was killed by an armed employee after a short, but conclusive gunfight. His name will be released after the autopsy by the coroner.

IN PENNSYLVANIA:

Carl Wooley, a Pittsburgh area man, shot and killed his wife’s alleged boyfriend yesterday with his bow and arrow. Police determined that Tony Bittinger came at him carrying a weapon as he climbed a staircase toward him. This happened in the home of the intended victim after Bitttinger reportedly came after Wooley with a 32 inch long club. Wooley had continually told the man to leave his house when he got there. The man who was killed had called the home earlier and threatened his intended victim. Alcohol was involved on Bittinger’s part.

Police called the shooting self defense.

IN MADISON, WISCONSIN:

Lamar Crump. Jr. allegedly broke into a man’s SUV at a Madison area mall earlier this month. That's where he stole a 12 gauge shotgun, an AR15, and stereo equipment. But he traded the goods for his cell phone that he left behind in the vehicle. Police found Crump’s pictures of himself on it. He had taken a picture of himself while pointing the phone’s camera at a mirror.

When he was arrested, police found the stereo equipment hooked up in his van and the guns in his apartment. Crump was on probation when this happened. He’s charged with a felony and probation violation.

ALSO IN WISCONSIN, AND, ON THE SUBJECT OF CELLPHONES:

Two men accidentally called 911 on their cell phone as they talked to each other this month about

video games and movies they had just stolen from a Target Store. The call, of course, was recorded. The 911 operator just sat back and listened when it was realized what was going on.

The crooks has said that they were on their way to a local video and game store that they were talking about to sell the goods. The police beat them to the store and arrested them when they arrived.

IN FLORIDA:

With the theft of copper becoming more frequent, burglars are having to become more creative in stealing it. That was the case of Anthony Pepitone, whom Miami Police said tried to allegedly steal copper wiring from a school’s roof.

But, unfortunately for Pepitone, there were several problems. First, a surveillance camera was rolling. He was wearing a mask when he climbed up onto the roof and broke in. He was up there when he slipped and fell down to the first floor. The camera recorded him trying to get up, but he quickly fell back down. He momentarily took off his mask. He also appeared to be in a lot of pain as he drug himself out of the school. He was arrested later.

Broward County Sheriff’s deputies received a call about a burglary in progress. But, the burglar had been scared off. However, he was captured just minutes later down the street as he squeezed into a chicken coop just barely his size. One can just imagine the chickens squawking and all the noise as he crammed himself into the coop.

IN CLEVELAND

Christmas wasn’t merry for two teenage thugs in the early afternoon, December 25^th, in Cleveland. The two burglars were trying to steal property from a house when the owner heard his burglar alarm going off. He investigated while armed and shot the two teens in the legs. Two other teenagers were acting as lookouts, but they escaped.

IN KENTUCKY

Jeff Hooker was watching his brother’s place in Laurel, Kentucky, when he saw a man open the screen door of the house. It looked like the man was going to kick the entry door open. Mr. Hooker confronted the man, and as he did, the burglar began to run away. As Mr. Hooker chased him, the would be home invader drew a gun and pointed it at him. Hooker fired his own gun once at the other man.

However, the crook ran into the woods. Police found a trail of blood leading into the woods, but lost the trail.

Steve Wommack captured a burglar in Richmond when the man was in his house. He was holding him at gunpoint as he called police. The home invader wanted no part of that, and made a motion toward his pocket and lunged at him.. The resident was afraid for his life and shot the fool 3 times. The man survived and is recuperating in a hospital under police custody.

IN NORTH CAROLINA

One burglar was killed. One was caught, and another two got away in Halifax, North Carolina last Friday. The dead man, Ricardo Harley, was wearing what proved to be useless body armor when he was killed. Kayman Northington was being held by the victim when police arrived. The other two were chased out of the home. Mr. Northington is being held on Burglary and concealed weapon charges. Mr. Harley is at the morgue awaiting autopsy.

IN MONTANA

A man came across a bear as he left his car and headed toward his house. He had just returned from a hunting trip. The wildlife officials there say that the man fired from the hip and killed the bear that was ten yards away. The investigation showed that the shooting was in self defense.

The New Fond Du Lac Wisconsin Sheriff's "Zombie Killer" TPV SWAT TRUCK

Zombies Beware:

The Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin Sheriff’s Department will be receiving the ultimate in Zombie killing armored vehicles, bought from the same people who are contractors for the MRAP military vehicles. The high dollar vehicle will be delivered in 2012.

The county received a loaner TVP armored SWAT TRUCK from the factory that was actually the one used in the movie “Batman, the Dark Knight Rises.” It still had “Gotham City PD” decals on its sides. The Gotham City PD decals were peeled off and replaced with the appropriate Fond Du Lac Sheriff's decals.

The manufacturer claims that the armor will defeat 14.5mm heavy machine gun rounds.

These Russian 14.5mm heavy machine guns are on an anti aircraft mount.

Let's hope the Sheriff never meets up with one of these. They would be good Zombie wasters though.

This armored car for the Sheriff is replacing a classic, but antiquated 60 year old “Humber Pig.” (No pun intended.) This new one is a monster, with lockable gun ports, lots of room for personnel, and plenty of armor. It also has a full factory warranty, an added benefit for any discriminating Zombie killer armored car buyer.

Let’s hope there’s no "Fast and Furious" BATFE program for these new loaded up armored vehicles, or the old "Pig" for that matter.

But, hopefully, there will be a military vehicle collector buyer waiting for this now surplus collector's vehicle. Some are for sale in England in running condition for as little as $5,500.00 plus export fees and shipping.

The problem with the old "Pig" was that it didn't start reliably and repair parts were scarce.

So, out with the old "Humber Pig" for the Fond Du Lac Sheriff and the boys of the Tactical Team.

receive the state-of-the-art Tactical Protector Vehicle (TPV) from Oshkosh Defense, a division

Oshkosh TPV will expand Fond du Lac County’s law enforcement capabilities and provide

greater protection to officers during high-risk situations.

According to Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office, Sheriff Mylan Fink, the area has seen a

2012. The vehicle provides officers with protection through an advanced armor system that

utilizes ballistic steel and glass to enclose the entire crew compartment. The Oshkosh TPV

offers a level of mobility and maneuverability unmatched by other protected vehicles in this

class to meet challenging situations in congested urban settings as well as off-road rural

environments.

The highly customizable vehicle will be configured, both inside and out, with

options selected by the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office to meet a wide range of tactical

mission requirements.

“The Oshkosh TPV is designed for the high-risk demands confronted by tactical law

enforcement officers on a daily basis,” said Ken Juergens, vice president and general manager

of Joint Programs for Oshkosh Defense. “We are pleased to provide Fond du Lac County

officers with the TPV, which was engineered using state-of-the-art techniques and specialized

materials, to meet the needs of law enforcement.”

In Texas:

A burglar in Weatherford, Texas picked the wrong house to burglarize this week. It was the home of a retired Texas state trooper. The intended victim woke up Tuesday as Kristoffer Lynn Knight was inside the home. The homeowner tried to hold the home invader at gunpoint, and there was a struggle after he told the crook to get on the ground. Knight was shot in the left side. He’s now in County jail and is facing felony burglary charges.

In Jacksonville, Florida:

67 year old Betty Magnusson heard a loud noise in her living room Sunday evening. She picked up her gun and went to investigate. There was a man wearing a hoodie standing by her Christmas tree looking dejected because there were no presents under the tree. Betty didn’t say anything. Instead, she fired. She missed the burglar, and the shot hit her window. But, that was enough to send the thug fleeing. She now plans to spend some time at the shooting range.

From the Spokane Police Department:

A Spokane County Sheriff Department Spokesman says the 14-year-old burglar shot during a burglary attempt in Medical Lake Monday has been moved out of ICU and is listed in satisfactory condition. He underwent surgery Monday to remove a .45 caliber bullet.

According to Sheriff's Sgt. Dave Reagan, shortly before 5 a.m., a resident in Medical Lake called 911 and reported someone breaking into her home and that her husband was holding a suspect in the backyard. Minutes later she reported that a suspect had been shot.

Deputies arrived to find the 14-year-old male suspect with a gunshot wound. He was transported to a Spokane hospital where he underwent surgery. His condition is unknown.

A second suspect, also a 14-year-old, was seen jumping the couple's backyard fence and running down an alley. He was later identified and contacted at his home.

The two suspects were reportedly carrying baseball bats at the time the man confronted them. They had broken into an enclosed room beneath the couple's back deck.

The husband reported that the room had been broken into several days prior, but he had not reported the break-in. He added an alarm to the room which is what alerted him

Detectives in St. Thomas, V.I. are investigating the killing of a burglar this week by his would be victim. Arriving EMT’s found a dead man who was wearing a mask, surgical gloves, and was armed with a gun. Unfortunately for him, one of the the home’s occupants had his own gun. He was killed by one well placed shot. He had confronted the home’s occupants and demanded their cash.

On Saturday morning, a burglar’s day got off to a bad start when he invaded a home there.

The home’s occupant heard the commotion and investigated while holding his gun. He found the crook cowering in the basement. That intended victim shot at the man, hitting him twice. The burglar ran off, but didn’t get far when he drove his getaway car into several parked vehicles. The car eventually landed against a tree in a neighbor’s yard.

In Tasmania:

Police responded to a burglary in progress at an IGA grocery in George Town, Tasmania Tuesday. The burglar had a knife. The burglar was shot in the butt by responding police. He is recovering from the painful wound. He and his buddy he was with in the store are charged with armed burglary.

In Tennessee, 10 Year Old Gets “In School” Lunchroom Suspension over Pizza Slice Shaped Like Gun.

And, a Smyrna, Tennessee 10 year old was suspended from his regular lunchroom table for waving around and “threatening” other students with a slice of pizza with bites taken out of it to make it into the shape of a gun. He’s sitting at the “silent table” for the rest of the semester.

Little Nicholas Taylor attends David Youree elementary. A Child sitting across from Nicholas in the lunchroom as he ate the pizza commented to him that the piece he was eating looked like a gun. And, Nicholas did what most any other 10 year old would do. He picked up the gun shaped slice and started acting like he was shooting it.

The school officials told his mother that he had been threatening other students. When they “confronted” him, Nicholas wasn’t truthful.

If there’s a positive side to this, its that Nicholas is spending time with the school’s resource officer learning about gun safety. We suggest the NRA Eddie Eagle gun safety program for all of the students.

FBI LOOKING FOR SCARED ARMED BANK ROBBER

Here's what being on the wrong side of a gun looked like.

Yesterday, at approximately 8:45 AM, a single male entered the HSBC Bank located at 2215 43rd Avenue in Queens, New York. He approached the teller, pointed a small silver revolver through the bandit barrier, and demanded cash. As the suspect was waiting for money from the teller, he pointed his gun into the air and fired a round into the ceiling. The bank staff, from fear of being hurt, dropped to the floor after the shot was discharged. The thug became scared by all this commotion and ran.

The suspect fled the bank without any money and left as a passenger in a black Lincoln Town Car; the FBI believes he was using a car service. The black Lincoln Town Car was last seen arriving and leaving a block from the HSBC branch on 44th Avenue between 22nd and 23rd Streets in Long Island City.

The FBI is looking for a Hispanic male, approximately 35 years old, and 5’7’’ tall. He is roughly 180 to 190 pounds, was seen wearing a black tweed hat, a black jacket, dark grey scarf, dark pants, and black gloves. It is also believed that the same suspect robbed a Capital One Bank located at 185 Broadway in Brooklyn, New York on October 18, 2011.

“We are asking the public to be vigilant and to pick up the phone and call the FBI if they know this individual.

We are asking for any livery drivers who may have been in the area to give us a call; we believe this could lead us to this dangerous suspect. Anytime a weapon is fired, the potential for injury and loss of life has to be taken seriously,” said Supervisory Special Agent Barbara Daly.

The suspect should be considered armed and dangerous. A significant reward is available for a tip that breaks the case. Anyone with information is asked to call the FBI immediately at 212-384-1000.

Home Invader Shot At By Intended Victim

A South Carolina mother found her front door open as she returned home and found a man inside the home . She put her child down to a safe area, got her gun, and ordered the man out of the house. He dropped a piggy bank and a kitchen knife as she ran after him and took a shot at him. she saw another man run into the woods at that time. The men had been taking her sound system apart and left it and some bolt cutters lying on the floor next to her WIFI equipment.

Another armed robber was not so lucky.

He was shot in the stomach as he tried to rob a Kennesaw Liquor store. He was driven to the hospital by his girlfriend. She may be facing some problems with the authorities too.

He demanded all the store’s cash and the clerk told him he would do that as he drew his own gun and shot the thug. The downside was that his defensive shot broke a glass door and left blood on the floor.

Ireland Considering Awarding Damages To Estate Of Armed Robber Shot While Committing Armed Robbery

Ireland has joined England in considering damages for criminals who are killed while committing violent crimes. There is a history of criminals having more rights than victims in the UK. It is a fact that Criminals have more rights than their victims in England. England has had its share of problems regarding criminals coming into homes and also plying their trade on the street. But, it is easy to see who the law sides with.

A British burglar called police when the victim in the home he broke into shot him with an air rifle.

We received an email from England from a victim of a home burglary not long ago. She said, “My husband is also on trial at the moment. He was charged with murder after a man burst into our house, intent on causing harm. We are hoping that he will be acquitted next week.” He was acquitted after the trial which should have taken place in the first place.

Two residents of England were recently sentenced to prison for beating a burglar senseless with a cricket bat that broke in two as they defended their home from a thug who broke into their home and put the family living there at risk. The burglar got probation. The sentences were later overturned.

An English farmer was sentenced to prison for defending his home against a burglar.

An Englishman who almost sliced off the ear of a home invader with an ornamental samurai sword has been acquitted of all charges after a trial. He was found not guilty of unlawful wounding. The home invader had threatened to rape his wife and kill his teenage children. He used the sword because it was the only weapon he could find. He told authorities that if the first thing he had found to defend his family had been an umbrella, he would have hit them with that.
Crime has become so bad that in London, a police official has said that the crime rate in his district has been cut by praying. Roger Bartlett, a police Inspector believes that prayers have increased the apprehension rate, helped solve crimes, and as an added benefit, have reduced the number of car accident fatalities.

A British celebrity, Myleene Klass, who is a popular broadcaster and model, brandished an "illegal" kitchen knife, and ran off a band of young intruders who entered her property last year . Police have told her that they believed she acted illegally in showing the knife to defend the home.

And now, the estate of a slain armed robber is suing for damages stemming from the criminal’s being shot and killed during the commission of a potential high dollar armed robbery.

The girlfriend of an Irish armed robber is asking the Irish Courts to award her damages resulting from his being shot to death by Irish Emergency Response Unit and the National Surveillance Unit members during an armed robbery. She claims that the father of her children didn’t present a significant threat to justify his death during the armed robbery 13 years ago. The lawsuit was filed years ago, but has been delayed due to procedural issues.

She says that the security guards breached a duty of care she says was owed to the dead robber. She claims that this was because they knew of plans for the robbery and did not stop the robbery when they knew it was going to happen.

The dead man was one of six people who blocked a road with their van and tried to rob a van carrying nearly $450,000 in cash. The survivors were sentenced to seven to eight years in prison. They were armed with an AK47, a handgun, and a shotgun. One of the armed robbers pointed a weapon at the responders and one of the gang, Ronan McLoughlon, was killed as a result. The case is being further delayed to allow the responders to provide evidence to the Court showing that they owed no duty of care to the armed robber.

911 Call From Burglar Shows That He's Afraid The Homeowner Will Shoot Him

Timothy Chapek was taking a leisurely shower in Portland, Oregon, when he heard an intruder enter the home. He was surprised as a woman with two German Shepherds entered the home. The problem was that Chapek had allegedly broken into the house and was making himself just a little too much at home.

Chapek was afraid that the homeowner was armed. He locked himself in the bathroom and called 911, fearing that he would be shot. The homeowner made her own 911 call. Chapek was arrested and was charged with first degree criminal trespass.

UPDATE: Timothy was allegedly a Parole Violator, but was released on personal recognizance at his arraignment. But, he apparently did not show up for his appointed Court date for this case. Must have been having a shower, drinking a beer, and cooking up lunch at someone else's house.

San Jose Police Release Surveillance Video From January Triple Murder

San Jose In an effort to locate those involved in a triple murder in January, San Jose, California police have released a surveillance video taken at the Mexicali Club. There was a gunfight in the bar where the three people died.

The video shows one of the killers as he tried to kidnap a victim. Two of those killed, Manuel Barazza and Antonio Allon, had come to the bar with a third man to collect a “debt” from the bar owner.

The men intent on collecting the “debt” were met by another man, Manuel Mendosa, in the bar who confronted them with a gun. Allon and Mendosa were killed at the bar. Barraza got away, but was found dead later in the getaway car.

Police are looking for Hector Milla who was allegedly waiting in that getaway car seen on the video, and the unidentified fourth man who was also seen in the video. Milla may be heading to Mexico. The bar owner was shot several times, but survived. Crime Stoppers is offering a reward for information. Here’s the video:

U.S. Representative Peter King will begin hearings tomorrow on what he says is, “To show the extent of radicalization within the Muslim American community and how dangerous that is, how serious that is, and also how it happens, and whether or not the Muslim community responds to that, whether or not they cooperate with police.”

He has been receiving threatening phone calls, some of which came from overseas. He will have extra police protection.
The Council on American Islamic relations (CAIR) is “fit to be tied.” King says it’s a "Badge of honor" to be attacked by CAIR, whom he says is an unindicted co-conspirator in a major terrorist financing case. King also says that up to 80% of the mosques in America are controlled by radicals.

When asked why he was only looking at Muslims, he said, “The reality is the threat’s coming from that community. It’s a small percentage. If I thought for a moment that there was a movement in the Irish Community, Jewish Community, the Italian Community, the Buddhist Community, anyone at all...involved in a serious effort against the American Government... certainly dealing with an overseas enemy, which has happened with Al Qaeda, which is recruiting in this country, obviously we would investigate that.”

The Liberal media is trying their best to discredit Rep. King. The latest is an attempt to link him with the I.R.A. He has been ripped into by Jon Stewart, which he should also consider a "Badge of honor" too. However, this is not the first hearing on homeland terrorism. There were fourteen similar hearings between 2006 and 2009 held by Joseph Lieberman, and former Rep. Jane Harman(D-Calif.) held six in the House.

Last Thursday, 03/03/11, we reported that there is a bill under consideration in the Connecticut legislature that would require confiscation of all magazines with a capacity of over ten rounds that remain in the state 90 days after the bill becomes law, if it does.

Now, the geniuses in Massachusetts are proposing going Connecticut one better. Its a state commission to study the feasibility of requiring Global Positioning Systems (GPS) locators in firearms. Here is the bill:

There is a bill in the Connecticut legislature that would not only ban ownership and possession of firearm magazines with a capacity of over ten rounds, but it also requires confiscation of them within 90 days of the bill becoming law. There will be no grandfathering of ownership of these magazines. Possession of them after the 90 day period is a class D Felony, with prison time of one to five years, a $5,000.00 fine. In addition, the newly minted Felon loses the right of firearms and ammunition ownership for life. We know how well the turn in ratio of "assault rifles" turn in worked when they were banned in New Jersey.

AN ACT BANNING LARGE CAPACITY AMMUNITION MAGAZINES.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

Section 1. (NEW) (Effective July 1, 2011) (a) As used in this section, "large capacity magazine" means any detachable ammunition feeding device with the capacity to accept more than ten rounds of ammunition, but does not include: (1) A feeding device that has been permanently altered so that it cannot accommodate more than ten rounds, (2) a .22 caliber tube ammunition feeding device, or (3) a tubular magazine that is contained in a lever-action firearm.

(b) Any person who possesses a large capacity magazine shall be guilty of a class D felony.

(c) Any person who (1) prior to the effective date of this section, lawfully possessed a large capacity magazine, and (2) not later than ninety days after the effective date of this section, removes such magazine from this state or surrenders such magazine to an organized local police department or the Department of Public Safety for destruction, shall not be subject to prosecution for a violation of subsection (b) of this section.

(d) The provisions of subsection (b) of this section shall not apply to the possession of a large capacity magazine by:

(1) Members or employees of organized local police departments, the Department of Public Safety, the Department of Correction or the military or naval forces of this state or of the United States for use in the discharge of their official duties;

(2) A person, corporation or other entity that manufactures large capacity magazines for persons specified in subdivision (1) of this subsection or for export in accordance with federal regulations;

(3) Any person engaged in the business of selling or transferring large capacity magazines in accordance with state and federal regulations who possesses such magazines solely for the purpose of such sale or transfer; or

(4) A gunsmith who possesses such large capacity magazine for the purpose of maintenance, repair or modification.


This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections:

To prohibit the possession of certain ammunition feeding devices that accept more than ten rounds.

Man Whom Police Say Was On His Way To A "Mass Killing" Is Shot Dead

A Long Island, New York man who had apparently just relocated there from Florida was shot and killed by police today after he struck a utility pole with his vehicle and then shot and wounded a volunteer ambulance EMT.

Police say that the man was on the way to a “mass killing.” He had a TEC 9mm behind his car seat and had an “assault weapon” strapped to him. He had a total of six guns. The police also say that he had extra ammunition held to his forearms by wristbands. Officers killed the man after he threatened them when they arrived at the scene.

In Maine, an Armed Robbery Spree Was Frustrated By Victim’s Gun- But Some Victims May Face Charges For Other Crimes:

A man and a woman from the Calais, Maine area were arrested after having what police call a weekend crime spree ended by officers. The crime spree was allegedly about cocaine. Michael Bailey allegedly broke into one home late at night last weekend, and had a plan to steal money and cocaine. Bailey is alleged to have threatened to shoot four people.

The armed robber then made the people call someone else to come to the house so he could rob that person too. Two other people came to the house and they were subsequently robbed. The six were held about a half hour before the robber shot one round and fled with cash and allegedly with cocaine. He hit no one. Bailey was said to have been identified by the victims as the armed robber.

It is also alleged that Bailey then went to another home several hours before daybreak. Shots were fired in that house when an armed and masked person, believed to be Bailey, broke in and exchanged gunfire with that home’s occupant. The person who lived in the second home and was in the gunfight waited two hours to call police. Police then stopped a car that Bailey was in and was allegedly driven by Amanda Fowler.

Bailed had a face wound, and his ear was mangled from the gunshot at the time he was captured. Bailey’s criminal record is a decade long. He is being charged with charges of, burglary, armed robbery, and aggravated reckless conduct. None of the victims have been charged yet.

In Corpus Christi:

A homeowner whose residence was burglarized last week shot a seventeen year old male burglary suspect on a second burglary attempt. He was alleged to be a part of a teenage burglary ring. Three other teens were arrested as part of that ring. The burglar who was shot will be charged with habitation burglary. He was stopped as he tried to enter a window of a home.

Accidental Shooting At A Bloomington Gun Show

There was what appears to be a shooting accident on Saturday at a gun show in Bloomington, Illinois. A rifle went off as a person attending the show put it down on a vendor’s table. The bullet hit wood and two persons were hit by flying wood. One person had small wounds from the flying wood and refused medical treatment. But, another man was hit by the flying wood and what is believed to be a .223 round. The bullet went through his arm and then struck another person.

One of the victims was reported to be in critical condition at a local hospital. Tests will be done to determine if the bullet came from the rifle. The bullet was recovered.

The show resumed after the injured left the building. At least one state has criminal penalties for accidental discharge of firearms at gun shows. There's an explanation of Arizona's law below. A visitor at the gun show turned on his cell phone camera right after the shooting. Here’s the video...

TO: ALL GUN SHOW PRODUCERS AND ALL CALIFORNIA FIREARMS DEALERS
A recent accidental discharge of a firearm at a gun show dramatically emphasizes the
importance for strict gun show producer and vendor adherence to the provisions of Penal Code
sections 12071.1 and 12071.4.
Penal Code section 12071.4, subdivision (a) (5):
states that all gun show vendors shall certify in writing to the gun show producer that they, “Will verify that all firearms in their possession at the show or event will be unloaded, and that the firearms will be secured in a manner that prevents them from being operated except for brief periods when the mechanical condition of a firearm is being demonstrated to a prospective buyer.”

While this mandate permits the vendor to briefly unsecure a firearm in order to demonstrate its mechanical condition, vendor firearms must remain unloaded at all times during the gun show.
Penal Code section 12071.1, subdivision (j) states that the gun show producer shall be
responsible for informing prospective gun show vendors of the requirements of Penal Code sections 12071.1 and 12071.4 that apply to vendors.

Moreover, Penal Code section 12071.1, subdivision
(l) states that if a licensed firearms dealer fails to cooperate with a producer or fails to comply with
the applicable requirements of Sections 12071.1 and 12071.4, the gun show producer shall not
allow that person to participate in the gun show.
The gun show producer must also ensure that members of the general public comply with
important security mandates imposed by Penal Code section 12071.4. The gun show producer
must provide sufficient oversight to ensure that each member of the general public bringing a
firearm into the gun show does not also possess ammunition for that firearm.

The gun show producer must also ensure that all weapons brought to the show by the public are checked, cleared of any ammunition, and secured in a manner that prevents them from being operated. The gun show producer must also ensure that each individual bringing firearms to the gun show completes and signs an identification tag or sticker and attaches it to the firearm.

A violation of the responsibilities mandated by Penal Code section 12071.4 is a crime,
punishable by a fine. Knowing violations, or second, or subsequent violations can be punished by a fine and up to one year in jail. (Penal Code section 12071.4, subdivision l).

For the purpose of Penal Code section 12071.4, “secured in a manner that prevents them
from being operated” means a firearm must be secured in such a manner to ensure than it cannot
be readily operated by any person at the gun show. The fastening of a hard plastic strap through the action of the firearm preventing the firearm’s operation will meet this requirement.

Merely tying the hammer back with a string would fail this requirement. All Gun Show Producers and All California Firearms Dealers Gun Show Safety and Security Responsibilities

In order to ensure the safety of all gun show participants, it is essential that gun show
producers and gun show vendors fully adhere to all the requirements of Penal Code sections
12071.1 and 12071.4. DOJ enforcement personnel will vigorously enforce firearms safety and
security requirements at gun shows.

“The right to self defense is unquestionable
and the right to carry a firearm is recognized
in our Constitution,” said Rep. Cliff
Stearns (R-FL). “Today, 48 states
have laws permitting concealed carry of a
firearm in some circumstances, and this
legislation would allow any person with
a valid state-issued concealed firearm
carry permit or license to carry a concealed
handgun in any other state.”

Stearns, joined by Rep. Health Shuler (D-NC),
offered H.R. 822, the National Right-To-Carry
Reciprocity Act. Noted Stearns, “It is important
to note this bill would not create a federal
licensing system. It would merely require states
to recognize each other’s carry permits,
just as they recognize drivers` licenses and
carry permits held by armored car guards.”

Forty states, accounting for two-thirds
of the U.S. population, have right-to-carry
laws. Thirty-six have "shall issue" permit
laws (including Alaska, which also allows
carrying without a permit), three have
fairly administered "discretionary issue"
permit laws, and Vermont allows carrying
without a permit. (Eight states have restrictive
discretionary issue laws.) Most right-to-carry
states have adopted their laws in the last decade.

Added Stearns, “Citizens with carry permits
are more law-abiding than the general public.
In my home state of Florida, only 0.01%
of nearly 1.2 million permits issued have
been revoked because of firearm crimes by
permit holders. States with right-to-carry
laws have lower violent crime rates.
According to FBI figures, on average the
rate is 22% lower for total violent crime,
30% lower for murder, 46% lower for
robbery, and 12% lower for aggravated
assault, compared to the rest of the country.”
