I couldn’t watch all of it, but I’m glad that most of it is on CNN.com, Ustream/CBS News and Hulu/Fox News. All alternatives for those who can’t watch it on tv.  I also am glad for Astro Max which will allow me to tape it.

From what little I’ve watched, I want to say again how much I’m saddened and shocked by this wonderful legends death. Just only last week, one could still say that Michael was a living legend. But now he has gone on to join the great performers of our time in a better place.

We had him as Queen Latifah mentioned, he was and is the biggest star on this earth. When he was alive, he commanded such presence and even in death – now – he commands the biggest presence ever in history probably. The whole world now mourns for him. He made new web history when he managed to even jam the internet. He JAMMED the internet! I never even thought that I would live to hear that.

He will be sorely missed. The wonderful thing about his memorial is that, all those who have now travelled to pay their respects and even the millions of viewers who are watching his memorial now. They are all remembering him as the person that he was and not the personality. May we all remember the heart he had for others.

Rest In Peace Michael!

We ended up going to the wrong stadium at first, cause it was quite easily mistaken for Staidum Merdeka. It didn’t help that we saw dog owners parking there and walking out from the wrong Jstadium. Parking was not the most wonderful thing. ust outside the stadium the narrow road was virtually jam pack with cars. Very helpful though that we could park in the church right next to it

It was a joy to see dog lovers of every kind. The first few dogs i saw were a bunch of Golden Retrievers outside the entrance of the stadium. Outside there were a bunch of tents selling doggy goodies. Two gorgeous Retrievers.

One Shih Tzu and a mini Pincher. The Mini Pincher’s legs seriously reminded me of chicken feet. So scrawny and gangly. lol

Inside the Chin Woo Stadium, competitions such as the Dog Fashion Show and Dog Obedience test were taking place. The fashion show really had some adorable dogs and you can see how some of the owners are so gung ho about dressing up their dogs.  Like this one below!

A Golden Retriever turned into a clown. Poor dog haha. But it was definitely a popular winner. Everyone wanted to take a picture with it.

And moving on to even more dogs at the event….

This was just too cute to pass up. A Mnachester United dog fan hehe. Take a guess which is the head!

This dog is abso-tive-aly gorgeous. Her name is Fergie and she is a mini collie. Or also known as a Shelties. She is like a little toy dog!

This SIberian Husky looks like a wolf and a really smart dog too. I can’t say much of the owner though.. or rather the  lady owner. They were playing a game called Simon Says where you basically follow the instructions of the commander and then just do what he says. Say the commander says sit. Then both the owner and the dog have to sit, unless told otherwise like ‘Give the dog a kiss on the head’’. The owner didn’t really know how to play

This was a very shaved shih tzu hehe. Look at its face haha. It’s so saddeningly cute. I know i’m creating all sorts of words that don’t even exist here. haha.

I personally enjoyed it when they had the obedience test. Check out the video.

Overall it was fun but I think the event could’ve been more interesting. What made it worth my while was just checking out the dogs and of course the company i had gone to see it with. It’s always more fun when you have another dog lover to watch stuff like this. Watch out for my next post on the Pet World Malaysia Event!

This film was shot by Ferdinand Dimadura. In short it talks about how the lack of food and poverty has been effected by globalization. There are 10,000 people dying everyday due to hunger and malnutrition. This short film shows a forgotten portion of the society. The people who live on the refuse of men to survive. What is inspiring is the hope and spirituality that never left this people.

I really do not have much to say on it, because all i feel is sympathy and can only feel thankful for what I have in life. It amazes me how in our own life we worry so much about the trivial things when there are harder situations out there in the world.

Last Friday morning i received horrifying and shocking news from a friend. The world now mourns the lost of the King of Pop. The legend, the man, the performer,  the entertainer, the king – Michael Jackson has now left us all. Never again will we be able to see the works of pure genius by this one person.

I remember the days when I was younger and I would dance and sing to memorable songs such as Bad, Smooth Criminal, Man in the Mirror, Beat It and Thriller. My mom would tell me stories of how when we were in Rome, I would walk down the stairs of the hotel we were staying at – I was three by the way –  and I was dancing and singing to his songs. Lol. Good memories.

I even remember the tme when I had my sport day events and we had our silly gymrama. The teachers used the song Beat it and I can still envision the movements… which were terribly lame, now as i think back about it. I remember my little brother dancing and singing for performances to Michael’s stuff like ‘ABC’. And the glove – my gosh – the glove. The iconic glove, I even made one for my brother and then I would give him some moves to use.

I just have such sadness when I think about the fact that we’ll never see him perform ever again. Never will we get to hear new words come out of his mouth. I feel dumb that I didn’t watch his performance when he came down to Malaysia. My parents had asked if I wanted to watch and all i retorted back was.. “Nah, i’m not in that phase anymore..”. Silly isn’t it.. It’s even sadder that he was going to have his world tour and now it’s not going to happen.

With all the media hype that revolved around his personal life. I honestly think all of it are just terrible lies, of people not being able to stand his success. How true are the statements that he did do the ‘bad things’ that were stated in the news. True or untrue, people cannot deny that Michael Jackson has changed the very course of the music and dance industry. We say that we always need to set a benchmark… Michael Jackson was more than that, he was the reference point. His influence has moved a number of recording artists and performers now to be the people they are today. Just take for example Chris Brown, Wade Robson, Ne Yo, Justin Timberlake…. just to name a few.

We should not remember him for all the troubled times he had. Instead I feel that we should celebrate the life he had. The parts that brought joy and change to our life. Humanitarian works on one side, let us see and remember him for the wonderful performer that he was. No other performer has been able to command the crowd he has been able to.

Michael Jackson, you will be sorely missed. My condolences and heart felt sympathies go out to his family members and also to the millions of fans all over the world. We may have lost him, but his music will live on to generations to come.

Rest in Peace Michael. May you finally have the peace and the neverland you always wanted here on earth.

Coming from an arts industry myself. I would be looking most forward to are the street performances and the indicines. Especially since I know some of people who will be performing and showing off their works. Such as T4YP, The Oral Stage, Comeback Kings and Electric Minds Project. All the more I  am SUPPORTING the arts scene! If not how else will it grow here.

Maybe the other reason i missed it last year was because i didn’t manage to win free tickets to the event. Yes it’s not a happening all day event that you can just waltz into..unless you have a ticket!

It was a Sunday and while I was rushing my way back to KL from Penang for an event I definitely did not want to miss. You know how actors in Hollywood get to go to big awards like the Tony Awards, The Oscars, The Golden Globes, The Emmys, The Baftas and a whole long list of movie awards. Yes well this is the closest i’ll ever get to going for an event that has to do with a prize giving for performing art works. So no way will i miss this event

And i got a new dress for it too. heee.

The night was special for me, since I was in two productions last year that got into the nominees list. One was in the musical theatre category and another was in the group performance category. For the musical theatre it was “Ismail The Last Days” and for group performance it was “Crazy Little Thing Called Love”. It was a bit of a torture, cause i was torn between the two groups . Regardless i love both productions.

The reception area where everyone was getting themselves registered.

The theme of the night was “Love”. As in love for the arts hence a big big sign was smack right there on the stage.

The emcees for the night were Fahmi and Tiong Wooi. They were very entertaining and left us giggling from their witty remarks.

An award ceremony by the theatre people is never complete without performances. Instant Cafe gave their rendition of the Abba song “The Winner Takes it All”. You can watch the video here.

On a wonderful note I was delighted to hear that Ismail the Last Days managed to sweep away 7awards out of 10 nominations. That was a complete shocker. We all went up on stage totally not knowing what to do. We all made Tony and Nick give the thank you speech, while we helped from the back. lol

- Best Original Book and/or Lyrics – U-En Ng
- Best Musical Direction – Mervyn Peters
- Best Lighting Design – Lim Ang Swee & Sandee Chew

- Best Performance in a Leading Role – Malik Taufiq

Back to the camwhoring days of the Ismail Cast. Hahaha.

We were all just fighting to grab a whole of the award. That one very tiny tiny award

My next big surprise, the one that really made my heart just stick to my throat when i heard the nominations.. was the award of the Best Group Performance. The Footstool Players with the show “Crazy Little Called Love” was up next with other group performances.

You know it’s one of those things, where you hope with all your might that it is going to be great news, at the same time you don’t want your hopes to get too high up. Yeah i was having that feeling, which for that pure moment it got my stomach get anxiety pangs. I know I’m such a drama queen

Well guess what Praise the Lord!!!! Footstool Players won the Best Group Performance. That was seriously the biggest icing on the cake for that night. A lot of hard work and a lot of love was put into that performance. And I’m so terribly proud of it.

Ok here’s a clearer one of the award.

Then after all that we moved on to the Heineken Party. We were there purely for the free beer and free Boh Ice Lemon Tea

The 7th Boh Cameronian Awards was an absolute blast. Altogether it was 8 wins. Technically la. On my part I was happy that the ensemble for “Ismail the Last Days” got the wards for Best Ensemble and of course I was ecstatic when I heard “Crazy Little Thing Called Love” won.

Who knows what’s instore for next year. All the same that was an enjoyable night!

I would like to tell a story. It all began in the days when technology was ever growing. Humans had created more and more machinery that it was even known to the world of the unknown… They then created the most powerful piece of machinery.

The LG Arena. ‘

And it was because of this that both Angels and Devils started the end of days early. To fight for the ultimate means of communication. The battle between the two had begun. And it started on the eve of Friday at the realm of Menara Hap Seng.

The skies were filled with white and red. .

What looked to red ribbons… which honestly I’m not sure could’ve been strips of dried up blood hung from the chandeliers.

And it was here at the battle the news of the LG Blog was released to the world. The human leader Mr TY Ko, Managing Director and CEO of LG Electronics (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd. brought the news to all. Nuffnang the secret underground community was there to help spread the news.

Where everyone gather to hear the news and to also find out who will walk away with other special devices… it really felt like an ‘arena’. An arena of angels and devils.

Spurring the crowd were four hosts. Serena C, Pamela Chong, Mei Yan and Will Kuah. Humans mind you. By they were called specially for the event.

Experiencing the event of the battle was way better live. Me and my fellow confused devil friend, Min Li (ok actually we were humans trying to be devils and infiltrate the event) – went for the event and looked around in awe.

See no horns, no pitch forks and no tail. We were very under dressed devils.

In awe for that was when the battle started. It was the weirdest battle too. For the angels and devils were requested to boogey….

We had Confused angel Thomas Yap dancing with the elegant and graceful angel Kim Ong.

On the other side we had Confused devil Shrek Simon dancing and shaking his kabuki too.

Angel Thomas won that round.

Then the second battle started. The most beautiful angels and .. horrendous devils were requested to step out onto the podiums. They were to walk the few steps to see if they were worthy to receive a huge prize from LG.

It was the a battle of the “best dressed!”

The angels walked out. 

Then the devils walked out…. to be honest i do not know how Freddy Krueger got into this… :S?

The Angel Kim Ong and the fiery sequined devil Red Mummy each won a 32 inch LG TV.

It was after this that the real fights started…

And shortly after.. i saw humans attacking on another….and no one helped!!!

While Red Mummy tried to extinguish everything with her molting shiny flames. Just look at that face. You don’t want to mess with her.

In the end the two actually did manage to stop it all. And to everyone’s surprise Angels and devils started taking pictures with one another. No more fighting! Which made me a happy human!

And everyone else shared the happy happy moment too… and some crazy periods…???

Now what is Project 365?

In simple terms, it is basically you taking one photo per day for a whole year with whatever camera you got. And you can’t stop!

It’s an old project and nothing new but it can be new when you add another person to the list who wants to take on the ‘challenge’. It is quite a feat i have to say, to take one shot perday. According to some ‘indirect’ rule you have to showcase what happened to you in that day with an interesting photo. I don’t think you can follow that everyday. :S You can check out this link to have a good idea about Project 365.

Here are my reasons for doing it:

1. After last year where by I had the year of my current life – like as if i have another life lol – i found that it was quite a joy to see what had happened throughout the year. We can easily dismiss certain things that happen in our life, but I would like to treasure more of my times.
2. I always find that a picture is a lot easier for memories. A picture contains all the context that happens in that one day. You can have a rush of what happened at that moment and all.
3. I want to test out the stories I tell with my little handheld camera

But yes those are my reasons. And besides this will make sure that I have at least one entry per day for my blog. Another excuse to blog and keep the place alive Good reason right?

I haven’t really had some time with them accept for a few occasions.

2.20pm was the time of the movie, and so everyone was to meet at 12ish at McD. Plan was to meet first for lunch and then catch the movie “He’s Just Not That Into You”. Honestly I don’t know why all the blogger movie gatherings i end up going for has to do with a romantic comedy. lol.

I couldn’t make it in time, as I already had other plans for lunch. Yeah I know boo… Made it all the same Getting there was a real rush from Jaya One.

I’m not in this pic because I came late. I was in the midst of running here I think. However i will say that I am with them all in spirit. Thanks to NigelAis for this pic.

What made the blogger movie gathering all the more special, had to be at the end of the movie. As the movie was running it’s end credits, suddenly the screen started to show a slideshow of two people. One guy and one girl. Something like that, one can only assume the ‘best’ – the guy was trying to do something entirely sweet for his girlfriend. 

It was more than just sweet actually. While the lights were still out, suddenly you hear a guitar and some guy singing some lovey dovey song. Candles started to appear at the four corners of the cinema. All this is still happening with slideshow showing us images of the couple.

The guy came up to the girl handed her a bouquet of roses and then asked her marry him. Yeah man a proposal in the cinema!

That had to be a pleasant surprise. I don’t think the guy proposing would’ve thought that there would be about 36 bloggers in the same cinema with him. And I think if not for that marriage proposal, we wouldn’t have been able to take shots in the cinema. You should’ve seen it. The minute the whole audience knew it was a proposal, the bloggers all whipped out their cameras – handheld, handphones and DSLRs alike. We all just started snapping.

Can you see the big and small cameras? Spot how many there are here hehe. The best part had to come from Yap Thomas which seriously just cracked me up. He just said “I didn’t plan this!!”

Brief note, he was one of the bloggers who was mainly in charge of the DGMB anniversary outing.. lol you have to be there to get the laugh out of that statement hehe. I didn’t really manage to take snaps but whatever i could it’s here. I only managed to take one shot of me and Pamsong.

Actually this was my fault, I think I must’ve enabled the function in the settings. Haha Google has tons of things happening it’s lab. This is an old one but take a look at Mail Goggles.
