What matters most in a persons life? Is it family? Is it your career? Is it financial freedom? Is it what people think of you? Is it your idealistic dreams? What really matters most?

I’ve questioned that a lot this year.. and maybe i’m still struggling with an answer.

Some people i guess would think any one of those are important enough to be the thing that matters most in ones lifetime. Everyday we work hard to achieve something but what are we really trying to strive for? Is it for acceptance when we do a good job? Is it to find the ‘perfect soulmate’? Is it so we can say to ourselves oh great i’ve made this much of money this year, and this can go straight to my savings? What the heck is the point of all of that…? Materialistically it’s pointless, cause at the end of the day you can’t take anything with you when you pass on. Finding the love of your life, it’s only going to be taken away from you when you pass on. What are you really going to say at the end of the day with your life…

However reading Rick Warren’s “The Purpose Driven® Life: What on Earth Am I Here For?“. I know there is more to life than all that was stated above. I don’t really know who to explain it with meager words… nor with out some people thinking that it is cheesy…

Just to share a little bit. This year was a topsy turvy time. I was disappointed a lot, still am in some ways. Disappointed with my own behavior, dissapointed with the people around me. People whom you’ve known for a long while let you down. Could be a close friend, could be a relative.. doesn’t matter. Anyone can let you down. Disappointed with work. Things where you were once comfortable will be shaken. Things that you thought were fine are actually not. Your securities in work won’t be there for you… All those are variables.

But there is only one person Who won’t and He kept me sane… My Mighty Father in Heaven. Everything else in life is a variable and I’m glad that He isn’t. He is for ever constant. He will never change. And that is why I realise that you should live for no one else but for the Father. He’s the only thing that is significant, to work for, to strive for, to love. For He is Love…

What matters most in life… the people whom you can try to love… “Love is a choice you make and you are blessed when you love even if you don’t feel like it.” – kerrvillechurch

Oh Lord, I pray that you will teach me your ways. Teach me to forgive and teach me to love. Even when i do not feel like loving. Teach me to be exactly what Love is, as it is stated in you Book of Life.

Love is everything, for without Love i am nothing.

Awesomeness!

Absolutely awesome. I’m referring to Michael Jackson’s movie stage performance “This Is It”.

Ladies and gentlemen, this really is “it”. The last and final works of MJ about to show the world that he is still King of Pop and always will be the ultimate performer. If you notice I’m not using “was” past tense here. Because I believe very much that MJ’s music is still alive with all of us. And it is because of that he himself will never die.

Watching the man perform at 50 and seeing creativity develop right from the core is spectacular. You are seeing the man himself preparing for millions and millions of fans out there who are eagerly waiting for him in London.

“This Is It” was the final curtain call for Michael Jackson as he stated this to the crowd during the press conference held inside The O2 arena. MJ had many reasons to perform this show. To let his kids – Prince, Paris and Blanket – watch the real performer their father was back in the day. Even at 50 years, the man is still the best performer in the world. Honestly if you were to watch him rehearse, you can see why he always comes up with the most fantastic performance.

What caught me buy surprise though as I sat down in the cinema, was that the cinema was not even half full! The movie released nationwide on the 28th of October and when I had bought my tickets two weeks ago, according to the guy behind the counter, he told us that the movie was sold out. Oddly enough.. there weren’t that many people checking out the movie, despite it only being shown on the silver screen for two weeks. Maybe it has to do with the fact that it is shown around the same time as Halloween. Causing movie goers to skip a show or two.

All the same, I enjoyed watching the last bits of MJ preparing for his best performance ever. La Toya may have her reservations that MJ won’t be pleased that the world may not be seeing the perfectionist at his best – cause after all, what we are watching is a rehearsal. However i think otherwise. Whilst the movie “This Is It” may just be a rehearsal of the legendary MJ making a come back, but it really goes to show much effort was placed into it.

“Everyone (the audience) is looking for escapism. They want to be entertained. So go at it at your best,” Michael Jackson. I paraphrased it a bit, but that was what he encouraged his crew members, dancers and singers as they huddled in a big circle after a rehearsal.

How great is it. Just imagine, the fans.. FANS are dancing with Michael Jackson and these are fantastic dancers, singers included. They get to watch their idol perform for them.. for ‘free’. Eat your heart out So You Think You Can Dance, for this audition i think beats even that show. Performers, whom from a young age were inspired by MJ and started dancing or singing because of him, get their ultimate dream which is to perform right beside him.. I can only imagine how devastated the entire production team must have felt when MJ left them.

MJ didn’t give a full out performance. Obviously not as he would probably be drained from doing it over and over again. You could see during the rehearsal for ‘Thriller’ he didn’t go all out on the dance routine. His dancers however were going at 100%. Who wouldn’t, it’s Michael and he would expect nothing less. Speaking of that, I was really looking forward to at least catch a glimpse of the wonderful costumes that were prepared for the show. The costume designers were saying that there was technology not even out there yet such. The crowd would have been bedazzled with 4 million Swarovski crystals and lighted up using LED technology. Read more about that here.

MJ’s This Is It did not make anything big in the box office yet but it is well on its way to making history for a musical documentary. It already grossed in 2.2 million domestically on it’s first day. Read on here.

Behind the glitter and glamour, the sweat and mistakes during rehearsals. MJ never once kicked up a tantrum. He knew his music and he knew what he wanted out of his production cast and crew. Whenever something went wrong, he would mention it politely saying, that it is not going right and they would have things rectified immediately. You can’t afford to waste time in not getting something imperfect for his last show ever.

Every once in a while MJ would murmur.. “This is why we rehearse”. Knowing full well that by the time the show hits the road, everything would already be in place.

MJ you are still King of Pop and we can say it is a waste that you left us too soon. There will be some of us who are glad that in your death.. whatever bad publicity that was out there has been washed away. People will now truly remember you for the performer that you are and were. None would be able to disagree with that. The man who brought the internet to a stop and caused all sorts of media to get jammed.

As a young boy MJ started at his peak. And now even in death, MJ has left at his peak.

Head on to Itunes to hear a snippet of his song “This is It”.

Last weekend – not only did i go for the Comedy Club KL at Zouk – but i had also attended the Asia Internet Congress 2009 organised by Click Events. Now I’ve never been to one of these webinars before, so i didn’t really know what to expect and neither did I know I was going to be spending…. but what I did know was I wanted to know more about Internet Marketing. And this was a first step for me to seriously quench my thirst partially on what i wanted to know.

Who were the speakers for the next 3 days (yes the course was for three days.. from 9a.m. to 7p.m. – madness!!!)? We had people from all over the place coming down to speak at the congress. And here they are in no particular order.

Simon Leung

Gobala Krishnan

Kishmore M

Note you can see who had easy access to images online lol.The links above will take you directly to each of the speakers respective sites.

Each speaker presented terribly well.. and I say terribly well because they were all really good. I had a lot of fun listening to them but learning at the same time about what making money online is really all about. It is honestly never about the money. It is about the business and what drives you to make it your business. Each speaker kept on pointing out what is the purpose of you wanting to make money? Practically anyone who came for the congress that day was with the hopes to learn hope to make money online.. including me. However i suppose what i got out of it instead, was how to think of something online as a business. A business to better ones life and the consequence of that is money.

A person with no knowledge on internet marketing would get loads of tips from the panel. Each was built for those who wanted to begin in a this business venture. It’s either you’ve already started something online or you knew zilch. Either way, useful tips and answers were given out. What i appreciate the most when i go for webinars like this is that you get to listen and speak to people who have already made it. They have a system that worked for them. Now it’s just up to you whether we can apply that system or tweak it to see how it can work for us.

I could go on and on about it. This is only part one, because i’m still trying to gather my thoughts on what else I can say about the event.

Stay on for more pictures and videos of the event in the next post

About a week ago, I was really contemplating to go or not to go for this stand up comedy show at Zouk. Then just a couple of days back, my good pal offered me a couple of free tickets in. Needless to say it didn’t take me much longer to make up my mind and I immediately jumped at the chance to get a few laughs in for myself this week.

Or rather I got myself a whole stomach stitch full of laughs.

The Comedy Club KL was held at Zouk KL and I was not disappointed at all. The Comedy Club KL had three stand up comedians.. or four.. depending if you want to count the host himself for that night who was our well known funny Canadian “Mat Salleh” dude Steve Northcott – (What are the odds he’s from up north with a north name :S – lame lol)

In order these were the people that came out torture our faces for that night. (pictures courtesy of The Comedy Club KL).

Steve Northcott

Steve is most well known for singing his controversial “Mat Salleh” song on stage for us Malaysians. Whipping out a guitar he will serenade you with the lyrics on the stereotypical mat salleh. Such as being too tall and too white at a mamak stall or even something even naughtier like they marry and convert to a malay so they can have more than oneeeeeee…. lol All just for laughs.. don’t take anything to seriously.

Papi Zak, a tv producer and tv director shows his personality by giving us a bit of a Russell Peters Malaysian style flavour. You would think that this big guy is up from the bronx lol. This was my first time watching him do stand up comedy (I don’t watch stand up comedy everyday so pardon me!) but i did enjoy his act and would like to see what else he’s got in the future. My favourite joke from him of the night had to be on ‘the GT queen, who are forever perky’.

This dude has done up stand up comedy with infamous funny woman and latest Celebrity Apprentice winner Joan Rivers! And he was equally as funny as her. He kinda reminded me a lil bit of the youtube guy What the Buck, but at least i really really laughed at his sarcastic remarks. Oh oh oh and he had other props! Most memorable joke of the night for me had to be the impromptu stuff some guy on the right hand side of the room was throwing at him. He could handle that bozo all by himself lol and poke fun at him while at it. Oh and also the camel toe joke.. i’m sorry but that was the most memorable thing for me :S Find out more about David Smiedt

THIS MAN WAS THE BOMB. I was a bit skeptical at first because i saw one of his short lil shows on youtube which didn’t really get me cracking to laugh. But by golly can he make you laugh!!! His jokes on the male behavior to women were crazily funny because part of it was crazily true! And you could relate with stuff like that. Wish I had a video to show what kind of jokes was made by him. But you would have to be there to seriously appreciate it.

I highly recommend The Comedy Club KL, worth the RM60 if say i had to pay for it. Watch out next month for the next show at The Comedy Club KL!

I haven’t written anything on aronil.com for a long long while. You can say i’ve been in a some kind of hibernating hiatus. However one may see it. I don’t personally think it makes any difference though for I do not know what are the actual type of readers that pop by everyday. I’ve considered making aronil.com like a spot where i get to share stuff ranging from anything graphical, to my lil experiences in life… Don’t think i did a very good job there. So let me start all over again.

In the past month or so, quite a number of things have transpired. Where shall i even begin…

As you can see my last post was regarding Rex.. my cute little poochie whom i still miss very much. Up till now I still haven’t seen him since he was taken away to his new home. I think he’s happy.. where he’s staying.

Then comes the part on me taking another job approach. I’ve recently just started work as a real estate agent. Why i moved into this line, I’ll touch on that in another post. Am learning a lot and opening my eyes to other options.

Related with that, I’ve taken a step back from what i’ve been doing…. or whatever it was trying to do in the arts scene. My last performance was with Footstool Players and for the past 3 months we have been touring around West Malaysia. Taking “Crazy Little Thing Called Love” to other states and performing at churches. It did take a toll on me and the rest of the group. However, listening to the positive feedback on how it was able to bring some impact.. be it big or small.. to others watching it, made it very worthwhile. So that’s the end of CLTCL Season 2. Not sure what the future will be like next year.

As for the layout of aronil.com. It’s still pretty much the same. I’ve just made some smaller changes, as i got a complaint that the structure just went bonkers on firefox. So that’s been fixed now

Hope to be updating a bit more from here.

I want to share a little creature that made me smile on a daily basis. He’s all fluffy white, has the stupidest looking adorable face with an underbite for a jaw. Has extremely soft paws which you would never imagine looking at how “fat” he can look at times. He makes a terrible amount of noise but despite all his yapping he is a darn cute thing.

That little adorable white fluffy creature is … or rather was my pet Rex. A Shih Tzu that didn’t really look like a shih tzu. I still think he could possibly be a mix breed. All the same I love that dog. I saw was because here’s my story.

About couple of a weeks ago, as i returned back to my house. A vehicle had driven up to my front door. Seven people came out from the vehicle… seven! They then started to put on these vests stating that they were from the MPAJ – Majlis Perbandaran Ampang Jaya. One of the ladies stated that someone in the neighbourhood had filed an anonymous complaint that our house was making too much noise. Due to the dogs we have. They then started to issue a warning letter to us saying that we have to get rid of one of our dogs if not we would be fined RM1000. Then one of the males decided to have the audacity to step into my compound and take pictures of my dogs.. that decided to make an appearance due to all the strangers in front of our house.

Naturally my dogs started to bark, because of strangers. And these MPAJ people had the stupidity to even say something like “Oooh sangat bising la.” Harlloooooo. You are not known to them, obviously they would bark. My pets are doing their job to alert us.

I’m still very very upset about this. I personally have a big big issue with whoever that neighbour is. If i knew who it was, i would like to discuss on the matter. Sadly i don’t think i’ll ever know. Even if i went about knocking at the doors, these people won’t fess up.

Personally I wanted to tell the MPAJ people to shove it.. because no way was i going to give up my dogs. Unfortunately my parents thought otherwise.. and decided not to fight for our beloved pet. So now all i can say is… farewell to our pet Rex.

He’s been such a joy. With his silly antics and cutesy wootsy face. I didn’t get to say goodbye to him, the day we found someone else to take care of him. Sure they maybe nearby but my parents decided not to let me visit Rex. Giving the silly excuse that oh they will be emotional ties and Rex may runaway from his new owners… I don’t believe that…

I miss him terribly.
I miss how he would go about following our maid where ever she went.
I miss how he would roll about at your feet when you blow at him. He behaved like such a cat.
I miss how he would rub his face when you blew at him.
I miss his begging at the table.
I miss all together.

The house is definitely quieter now…but it feels like something is missing… Rex I miss you and you’ll always be part of this family.

“Do you realise that we’ve been going together for exactly six months?” she asks her partner sitting beside her. And then there is silence in the car.

That is one of the lines from one of the short pieces that is being performed in <a href="www.footstoolplayers.com/current.html" target="_blank">Crazy Little Thing Called Love. I decided to start off with that simply because I think as women sometimes we have a terrible thing called the brain. lol. I’m not saying that it is a big hassle but often times, as women we tend to over analyse a lot of things.

Just from that simple conversation above(or lack there of ) will cause a female to go into a frenzy in thinking. She’ll be wondering why he’s not talking, why he’s not answering… basically not doing anything to reaffirm her question / statement. All the while the guy would probably be thinking of anything but her statement.. instead considering to reflect on other more important things (or supposedly more important things).

I honestly wonder why it is that as women we tend to over analyse things. And we females always said that men do the analysing. Some of us females will analyse to the point that we maybe conjure up our own understandings and scenarios which may actually have not happen. I suppose we want the male to confirm what is going on in our head or whatever it is by saying something.

These inherent need to talk or ‘bond’ comes from our female side of producing oxytocins. Which is also related to other things such as social recognition, pair bonding, anxiety, trust, love, and maternal behaviors. I have a good feeling since we produce this while the males produces their testosterone, that the chances of understanding brains of either gender would take more than a lifetime. lol

Males prefer being practical and compartmentalising things. While us ladies go into immediate multitasking even in the thoughts in our head. We want to multi task everything. I’m not saying this goes for everyone but there is some small truth to it. The over analysing is not always a good thing as it starts to make you think of nonsense. Makes me consider to sometimes wish for maybe a small portion of a male brain. pffttt.

Point is, while i’m blessed at the fact we are given a brain, i don’t always appreciate the behaviour some of us ladies have when we start to think too much. God gave us a brain to think and I hope that in the midst of chaotic emotional thinking at times we will take the time to reflect on what are the things that matter more… rather than being disturbed by unnecessary thoughts.

Now just for a laugh… I don’t the least bit think this is true but it’s great for some humour.

Arrrrrr….avast ye matey! All ye pirate lovers out there, for those who believe in the power of the monkey then ye be glad to hear that Monkey Island is back!

Rememer the nimrod Guybrush Threepwood and his lady love the Governor Elaine Marley? Not to mention the terriba-ba-ble Pirate LeChuck.

Now i’ve only played bits and pieces of Escape from Monkey Island. But this game is sure lots of fun. The game is by the same man who created Star Wars and its probably as old as that film lol. A game with wit and humour what more can i ask for. I think the most memorable bits of Monkey Island had to be the insult sword fights and insult arm wrestling. lol.!

“Insult: I usually see people like you passed-out on tavern floors.
Comeback: Even BEFORE they smell your breath?”

Anyway here is the scoop on Monkey Island. There is technically two new games out. One is the Monkey Island Special Edition which is sorta like a remake of the first game entitled Secret of Monkey Island. I’m not sure if they are going to remake part 2 of Monkey Island though….

The first two games were on DOS and since we are now in the period of Vista we can’t find that anymore let alone play it. But with the Monkey Island Special Edition you not only get to play the game which has been lost to us so long ago but for those hardcore fans you can view it in pixeled format. Pretty much like the image above.

The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition is an enhanced remake of The Secret of Monkey Island for the PC, Xbox Live Arcadeand iPhone/iPod touch developed internally by LucasArts and released on 15 July 2009.
Just have a watch at what’s in store!

Friday was just the training session of the Manchester United players that came down for the Asian Tour. Heading there was a very very predictable jam waiting to happen. It was quite funny to see people in a number of cars heading to the stadium, all in their favourite jerseys. I spotted on Liverpool fan in the crowd lol.

We were all just under the blazing sun and it was super hawt! I was hoping to get a tan while at it :S

The place was not as packed to brim that day. I think only about 50 thousand people were permitted in with the training pass.

Frankly the training pass wasn’t much. I just had to laugh at the fact, that tens of thousands of people went to watch just to see some of their favourite players roll about on the grass haha. But hey all in good fun

This post is nothing new and it’s been talked about many times, if not on my blog but on other blogs too. In my Monash days we studied quite a fair bit on the objectification of women, since it’s a very apparent thing in media – be it film, print or whatever source of media.

I felt like blogging about it again because this has been floating in my head for some time. Furtheremore after the whole “Transformers: Revenge of The Fallen” movie, there were headlines all over the place on Megan Fox the worlds hottest women to re-merge as Mikaela in this movie. And then there was the controversy on Megan Fox being a man.

Now here’s the thing i want to point out, even the most highly looked at woman now, Megan Fox even has her doubts about the way she looks. Even though she’s already gorgeous as she is. My question is why in hells name why would a lovely girl like her even feel that way? (Ok i don’t know exactly what she feels but basing it on her recent interview – she doesn’t seem to “confident” bout her own body either)

Back on the topic of objectifying. Do not get me wrong, I’m all for a person looking good and presentable… However I’m actually really tired of hearing how men would like a pretty thing on their arm. I think it’s a nonsensical egotistical immature ride that they enjoy when they go out with a pretty girl / hot chick / hoochie mama… whatever terms you’ve got for it these days. It’s a terrible ego ride that they go on. Thinking that they can get any girl… honestly it makes me sick!

What are women? Pieces of meat? Or in this sense very very dolled up prettified with black pepper sprinkled on top good looking pieces of meat? Just so that a guy can say to other men indirectly “Hey check it out, I’ve got the girl you are all after!” I want to say men like these, are immature.

I want to highlight that this kind of thinking is detrimental. It’s bad for both the male and females in this world. And oh so help me – reiterate a topic like this, which has been discussed down the ages. While sure it’s hard to curb this kind of mentality, but for those who are with wives, girlfriends, or about to get into a relationship with someone.. While this is a note of advice to the males… this does not mean it doesn’t go out to all you ladies too. Who love eyeballing cute little pieces of candy.

Think about it.. and see if this kind of thinking will do any good for the both of the partners. Even if you do look at other people.. occasionally or <strike>a lot </strike>try making your partner worthwhile at the same time. I’m sure she or he will always enjoy to hear something nice come out of your mouth. Instead of some fluke joke on how they will enjoy someone who is better looking or hotter or whatever. Cherish the fact that you have a partner.
