This breaks all blogging rules but firstly I want to apologize for the lack of posts here for the last few months.

Secondly the reason for the lack of posts is that I have been working on the development of a new CSIRO wide library news site – Info Updates. The site is internal to CSIRO so this link will be followable by CSIRO staff only.

Info Updates is a news site designed for news from the library for CSIRO staff. The platform is provided by CSIRO Library Services with content posted by a range of CSIRO staff, gathered from a wide variety of sources, both internal and external. Posts will include news about new resources, new books in the libraries, conferences, library hints and tips. Most of the news posts will be short descriptions with links to the full article.

As well as the main Info Update site which has library news relevant to all CSIRO there are several subject based news blogs within the site and categories within each blog so you can find news relevant to you. The news blog that will be of most direct relevance to you would be Energy Info Updates for those of you from CPR or Manufacturing, Materials and Minerals Info updates for CEM people. You will find similar content on the two sites as you have been finding here. You do not have to constantly return to the site to get updates but can subscribe via an RSS feed. Of course if you find that a few categories are of interest you can subscribe to more than one. The ability to subscribe via an email alert will be coming.

Please feel free to use the “Comments” link at the bottom of each post to let us know if you find the post relevant or to start a conversation about the news or the resources.

Please explore our new site and feel free give us any feedback via the comments facility on each blog, our intranet feedback form, phone or email that will enable us to improve the service.
