Regardless of the image capture method of the cd camera, the lens remains the most critical component
regarding HD video capture. Lenses are meant to refine optical aberrations that occur when recording video, and there is a wide variety of camera lenses for various recording scenarios. Lenses come in several standard uses and mounting styles.

CCD cameras are a type of image capture device that utilize an image sensor to register visible light as an electronic signal. These types of cameras do not use photochemical film to capture stills or video. Instead, the electronic signal is recorded to either an internal memory or a remotely connected device. Of the three types of digital cameras (the others being CMOS and CID), CCD cameras are the most developed and commonly used.

Resolution

Resolution is the quality of the image when viewed. For digital cameras, resolution depends upon the number of pixels (horizontally and vertically). At a standard size, more pixels sharpen details on a photograph, but when enlarged the pixels become apparent in an effect called pixelization. This is similar to grain on film. Digital camera resolution is commonly measured in megapixels (MPx), with each mega representing one million square pixels. High-definition is regarded as a resolution of 1,280 x 720 pixels or more.

Frame Rate

Measured in frames per second, this is the number of image captures. The human eye is capable of differentiating between 10 to 12 separate images per second; anything more and the rapidly changing images creates the illusion of movement. Frame rate of individual cameras is very much reliant upon the playback method and territory, or the specific application of the camera, both of which are covered in depth below.

Shutter Speed

This is responsible for the duration that light reaches the image sensor or film. It directly controls the exposure rate along with the aperture. Slower shutter speeds result in blurred motion capture. Since CCD cameras are electronically activated, most do away with the manual shutter. Instead, digital cameras can offer an electronic shutter, which is faster since there are no moving parts.

Sensitivity

How well a camera captures images in low-light situations is measured in LUX. It is a number that represents how sensitive a camera is, and a lower number LUX sees better in less light. Color and monochrome cameras measure LUX differently.

The film represents a “landmark moment,” moderator and Academy governor and animator Bill Kroyer told The Hollywood Reporter prior to the panel. That’s because the film manages to be simultaneously an animated film, a live-action production and a VFX film – and because, in the words of director Alfonso Cuaron (as relayed by Kroyer), "we had to finish post-production before we could start pre-production."

PHOTOS: The Making of 'Gravity' With Sandra Bullock, George Clooney

By that, he meant that the entire film was pre-visualized – animated – before pre-production even started. Indeed, as Framestore VFX supervisor Tim Webber explained, even before pre-vis, the filmmakers used a rougher form of visualization referred to as pitch-vis to create rough sequences that were used to pitch the project. Since the film at that point had no financing, the pitch-vis was put together using models available at no cost on the Internet.

The pre-vis was more than just visual though: several of the filmmakers actually performed and recorded the entire script as part of the process, so that the dialog and intricate shots would work together properly. At one point, 20 animators were working on the pre-vis.

“We were blocking the movie in advance of filming,” said editor Mark Sanger, who was involved in the project from its earliest days. Sanger, Webber, Cuaron and others won Oscars for their work on the film, which won seven Academy Awards and was nominated for a total of ten.

The pre-vis was challenging even at the most basic level. Pixels and ink have no mass, but “animators are trained to portray weight,” said Webber. In the case of the perhaps-ironically named Gravity – set in a zero-G world – that required animators to do a mental reboot. “It’s breaking a lifetime habit,” he said.

PHOTOS: 'Gravity' Spinoff 'Aningaaq' Explores the Other Side of Sandra Bullock's Call

Other technologies used in planning the film included models, physics simulations, motion capture and, prior to the pre-vis, traditional storyboards. As animation supervisor Max Solomon explained, yet another challenge was how to move the camera in order to "make [the film] feel more like a documentary, not sci-fi." In effect, he said, the camera was the third character in the film.

The pre-vis was not just used for planning purposes though. The metadata – such as position information regarding the lighting, characters and camera – was used to drive robots, lights, wire harnesses and other rigs during live action shooting itself. None of the shooting involved green screen. Instead, virtually everything but the actors’ faces and helmets was filled in later using CGI. In most cases, the boundary between live action and CGI was the edge of the helmet.

Even Sandra Bullock’s legs, visible when she sheds her spacesuit inside a space station, were the product of VFX artists.

Often, the actors performed inside a lightbox constructed of LED panels. (A smaller version of the lightbox was set up in the DGA lobby and was a crowd-pleaser.) When Bullock goes spinning off into space in a terrifying sequence early in the film, she was actually in a rig being moved around no more than 45 degrees off axis from vertical. The camera was moving too, but what was actually spinning were pre-vis images in the lightbox. Those images created realistic reflected light on the actress’s face and visor, and also gave her something to react to. “Without the pre-vis, she wouldn’t have known what she was supposed to do,” said Webber.

PHOTOS: NY 'Gravity' Premiere: Sandra Bullock and George Clooney Are Out of This World

The early sequence in the film is also noteworthy because it’s a single shot, almost 12 minutes long, without an edit. And it’s not the only one: 17 shots make up 70 percent of the film, and the entire movie is about 350 shots, as contrasted with a more typical count of 2,000 shots for features.

But those shots aren’t actually as uninterrupted as they seem. In reality, they contain hidden edits, places where Sanger and his colleagues used a variety of tricks – morphs, racking focus, and more – to join separate shots but hide the seams.

The event was put on by the Academy’s Science and Technology Council, and was introduced by NASA astronaut Cady Coleman, who advised Bullock as she prepared for the film. Coleman kicked things off by saying “the hardest part of my job is that I get to go into space and other people don’t, [but] Gravity brought them to the place that they can’t go.”

And for those who wondered about the wizardry behind the screen, “DeconstructingGravity” was likewise a journey to a place almost as magical as space itself.

How to make money from Facebook without Investment
Now a days almost everybody is using facebook, which makes it the best market place to make money. And the best thing is that marketing on facebook is almost free. or rather cost effective way of marketing. I will tell you exactly how to go about making money on facebook.

How does it work?
Before understanding how to make money on facebook, you need to understand the most basic thing that for any business to be successful, you require audience, without which no business will run. and these audience or people are the life blood of any business. and what do we do with these people? We promote products or services etc. The thing that i am talking about is promotion of products and services of other companies. You must have seen ads on in your facebook account. advertisements of Myntra.com, Yepme.com, Jabong.com, flipkart.com etc. we are talking about promoting these kind of companies and making money.

How do we get paid?
When it comes to making money online, There are few standard ways of getting paid. what i will be talking about is CPC.

What's CPC?
It means Cost per Click. When ever people click on the ads displayed by you, you get paid for that click. Is'nt that amazing? But make sure that the clicks are genuine. If not then you are in trouble. So what i am saying is that, You will make money every time someone clicks on the advertisement displayed on by you.

What is www.blogger.com?
Its a blogging website owned by Google.com . All you need to do is blogging. Blog about anything and everything. blog about your hobby, your dog, about politics about friendship etc. so literally anything and everything. You will have your own page on blogger.com lets say you have chosen marioblogging.blogger.com and you are currently blogging about "HOW TO MAKE A PIZZA" . What google will do is, Google will place ads pertaining to your content on your page That's marioblogging.blogger.com . now since your content is related to Pizza, they might place ads on your website related to Dominos pizza, Kitchen wares, microwave ovens etc or could be anything related to your content. and when ever people come to your page to read your artile on "HOW TO MAKE A PIZZA" and if they click on any of the ads on the page, You make money. People are making big bucks doing this.. Well you are not, just because you did not have the knowledge.

Well, Google will display ads on your page, only if you have an AdSense account. To get your own AdSense account, Go to http://google.com/adsense/apply

So its Google who would be paying you and not facebook, but we will be using facebook as a medium to get the crowd on your blog by promoting your blog by sharing the link on facebook or sharing images that has your blog website address in it.

Once your account is approved, you are ready to go. The Red5 Open Source Media Server has adopted a new license, Apache Software License 2.0. Rather than try and explain our reasoning, I’ve copied my exact email request that I had sent to the team. After a short period, the votes were counted and we had made our decision. Please read the below for more context on why we decided to go with Apache Software License 2.0 (ASL 2.0).

I hope all of you are doing well and living your lives to the fullest. As many of you know, we as a project are maturing as we gather momentum towards our 1.0 Release. It’s hard to believe that we started the project over 6 years ago around September of 2005 (http://code.google.com/p/red5/source/list?num=25&start=25). The motivation behind this email is to ask for your support and approval of a licensing change to the Red5 Project, its’ source code and all accompanying material. I will provide some context and reasoning behind the decision. As some of you are aware, we originally chose LGPLv3 license because it allowed the server to remain open, yet allow for adoption in the industry by groups that could not release their own source code. Generally, we tried to think of Red5 in the same regard as Tomcat. Our goal was to remain open without restricting proliferation among the industry. GPL would have required any code that statically or dynamically linked to the project source be open sourced. This was too restrictive for wide spread use. This then brought us back to LGPLv3 which is where the current codebase stands. It’s been recently brought to my attention that LGPLv3 may be too restrictive for certain use cases that are becoming prevalent in our industry.

I will explain in simplified terms what consequences our license has on an entire industry today.
May I point to Android as the use case involved with this discussion. At the moment, LGPL allows for linking either statically or dynamically to proprietary code. LGPL also ensures that the user of a library has the right to reverse engineer and modifiy the LGPL library in any way they see fit. So for instance, if someone packaged up a web application inside of Red5 and created an installer, the end user could replace the red5.jar with a new version if they so please. However, with Android, an applicaiton is packaged up as a DEX file which is one file that has many libraries compiled into it. Taken directly from android’s open source page:

Here are some of our specific concerns:

LGPL (in simplified terms) requires either: shipping of source to the application; a written offer for source; or linking the LGPL-ed library dynamically and allowing users to manually upgrade or replace the library. Since Android software is typically shipped in the form of a static system image, complying with these requirements ends up restricting OEMs’ designs. (For instance, it’s difficult for a user to replace a library on read-only flash storage.)

LGPL requires allowance of customer modification and reverse engineering for debugging those modifications. Most device makers do not want to have to be bound by these terms, so to minimize the burden on these companies we minimize usage of LGPL software in userspace.

Historically, LGPL libraries have been the source of a large number of compliance problems for downstream device makers and application developers. Educating engineers on these issues is difficult and slow-going, unfortunately. It’s critical to Android’s success that it be as easy as possible for device makers to comply with the licenses. Given the difficulties with complying with LGPL in the past, it is most prudent to simply not use LGPL libraries if we can avoid it.

For these reasons, LGPLv3 is not suggested. We had not foreseen these restrictions and use cases when the project first started. Android as well as other platforms would be severely restricted and proliferation efforts would be limited. Exposure to these platforms increases visibility of the project and pushes us into uncharted area. We can remain confident that our service to the community will continue and that the project may find new and interesting uses.

Given that these conditions and restrictions do exist as stated above, we should identify what licenses could suit our needs. I propose that we evolve our license to a less restrictive license such as Apache Software License 2.0. This license allows for such use cases as stated above while allowing us to remain true to our original intentions. It should be noted that the Apache Software License is used by complimentary projects such as Tomcat which as you know is our default embedded servlet container. Taken directly from the Apache Foundation site:

A celebrity death follows, even as the opening titles end. Ghastly leads to ghostly soon enough. By the first hour, as the sinister quietly soaks the frames, you are sure there is a ghost lurking amidst the cast.

Like most character cliches in our films, Bollywood ghosts can be good or bad depending on who is playing them. If it is a leading star essaying the role of a ghost, he/she is on the prowl strictly to settle scores baddies and has no negative intention otherwise. Invariably, the starry ghost will have a heart of gold.

If you overlook the fact that the most intriguing character ofTalaashsuffers that snag, Aamir Khan's new film is one hell of a ride. Suspense thrillers in Bollywood are rare commodity, films within the genre that create scope to delve deep into the minds of its protagonists are even rarer.Talaashcreates its chills primarily tapping into the dark side of the mind, which makes it an unusual Bollywood film. Any resemblance to Joseph Payne Brennan and Donald M. Grant's 1979 novella,Act Of Providence, is purely coincidental.

Writer-director Reema Kagti and her script associate Zoya Akhtar have created an enigmatic screen cop for Aamir Khan- in command at work, yet out of control in personal life. Aamir's uniformed avatar, Inspector Surjan Singh Shekhawat, is a bundle of bottled angst. He is summoned to probe the bizarre death of a Bollywood superstar. In the dead of the night, eyewitnesses recall, the superstar skidded off an empty road and swung his car right into the sea. Primary tests reveal no trace of alcohol or drugs in the victim's body and most in the force feel the case cannot be solved.

Kagti adds to the puzzle with each new character that enters the tale, as Shekhawat goes about scouting for clues with his sidekick (Rajkumar Yadav). We get to know his wife Roshni (Rani Mukerji) is still coming to terms with the drowning of their only son. The over-friendly Parsi woman next door (Shernaz Patel) talks of communicating with the dead. Shekhawat meets a sex worker, Rosie (Kareena Kapoor), who could possibly provide some leads. The red-light underbelly where Rosie lives is home to an interesting mix too, chief among them being Tehmur (Nawazuddin Siddiqui), slimeball with a limp who obviously knows more than he pretends to.

The parallel subplots of Shekhawat's trauma as a bereaved father and a cop obsessed about cracking his case set up the backbone of the story. Aamir strikes a balance between the two tracks with trademark subtlety, the way only he can. Kareena Kapoor's Rosie is underplayed till a point. Although she seems ill at ease with the mannerism of a sex worker, Kareena adds the essential glam quotient.
Greek mythology had at least one instance of robots: the mechanical servants of the Greek god of technology, fire, and the forge, Hephaestus.

In 1206 Al-Jazari created the earliest form of programmable humanoid robots which was an automaton. This automaton appeared as four musicians on a boat in a lake and it had a programmable drum machine with pegs that bump into little levers that operated the percussion. Al-Jazari had many other automatons.

In 1945 Leoanardo Da Vinci a humanoid automaton in knight's armor to entertain which was not known if it was ever built actually.

Digesting DuckJohannes Müller von Königsberg created an automaton eagle and fly made of iron; both could fly in 1533.

Jacques De Vaucanson created some of the most famous automatons in 1737. His most famous work was ''The Digesting Duck'' which was capable of imitating a real duck by flapping its wings, eat grain, digest it, and defecate and was powered by weights.

In 1800s, the Japanese craftsman Hisashige Tanaka (1799-1881), known as ''Japan's Edison'' or ''Karakuri Giemon'', created an array of extremely complex mechanical toys, some of which served tea, fired arrows drawn from a quiver. Nikola Tesla demonstrated a radio-controlled torpedo.

The first person who used the word ''robot'' was a play author Karel Capek in his 1921 play, creating the word from the Czech word ''robota'', meaning servitude.

In 1928, Japan's first robot, Gakutensoku, was designed and constructed by biologist Makoto Nishimura.

In the 1930s, they created a humanoid robot known as Elektro for exhibition purposes, including the 1939 and 1940 World's Fairs.

In 1940 Issac Asimov produced a series of short stories about robots starting with ''A Strange Playfellow''; for Super Science Stories magazine whose story was about a robot and its affection for a child that it was bound to protect. Over the next 10 years he produced more stories about robots that were eventually recompiled into the volume ''I, Robot''; in 1950.

Asimov was generally credited with the popularization of the term ''Robotics'' which was first mentioned in his story ''Runaround'' in 1942. But probably Issac Asimov's most important contribution to the history of the robot is the creation of his Three Laws of Robotics:

1) A robot may not injure a human being, or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
2) A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
3) A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

Asimov later added a ''zeroth law'' to the list. Zeroth law: A robot may not injure humanity, or, through inaction, allow humanity to come to harm.

UnimateAlan Turing published Computing Machinery and Intelligence in which he proposed a test to determine whether or not a machine has gained the power to think for itself.

George Devol invented the first truly modern robot called the Unimate which was digitally operated and programmable in 1954. Unimate was sold to General Motors in 1960 and it was installed in 1961 in a plant in Trenton, New Jersey to lift hot pieces of metal from a die casting machine and stack them.

In 1959 John McCarthy and Marvin Minsky started the Artificial Intelligence Laboratory at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) an then he leaved MIT in 1963 to start the Artificial Intelligence Laboratory at Stanford University. After his starting this laboratory the Stanford Research Institute (later to be known as SRI Technology) created Shakey the first mobile robot to know and react to its own actions. Amongst other achievements SRI was also the research institute that helped bring us modern day laundry detergent in the development of Tide in 1966. In the same year, an artificial intelligence program named ELIZA is created at MIT by Joseph Weizenbaum. ELIZA functions as a computer psychologist that manipulates its users statements to form questions. Weizenbaum was disturbed at how quickly people put faith in his little program.

Stanford Arm of Victor ScheinmanIn 1969 Victor Scheinman, a Mechanical Engineering student working in the Stanford Artificial Intelligence Lab (SAIL) creates the Stanford Arm and today the design of this arm influences the design of robot arms.

In 1970 Stanford University produced the Stanford Cart which is designed to be a line follower but also was able to be controlled from a computer via radio link.

Victor Scheinman formed his own company and started marketing the Silver Arm, that was capable of assembling small parts together using touch sensors in 1974.

Stanfort CartSoft Gripper was designed by Shigeo Hirose to to wrap around an object in snake like fashion in 1976.

In 1978 the 4 axis robot arm SCARA, Selective Compliance Assembly Robot Arm, was created. It was the best used for picking up parts and placing them in another location and it was introduced to assembly lines in 1981.

The Stanford Cart built in 1970 was rebuilt by Hans Moravec by adding a more robust vision system allowing greater autonomy in 1979 These were some of the first experiments with 3D environment. mapping.

Dante II In 1981 Takeo Kanade built the direct drive arm, that was the first to have motors installed directly into the joints of the arm. This change caused this design to become faster and much more accurate than previous robotic arms.

In 1986 LEGO and the MIT Media Lab colaborated to bring the first LEGO based educational products to market. LEGO tc Logo was used by in the classrooms of thousands of elementary school teachers. In the same year Honda began its humanoid research and development program to create robots capable of interacting successfully with humans.

In 1989 at MIT a hexapodal walking robot named Genghis, that used 4 microprocessors, 22 sensors, and 12 servo motors, was unveiled by the Mobile Robots Group MIT and Rodney Brooks and A. M. Flynn published the paper ''Fast, Cheap and Out of Control: A Robot Invasion of the Solar System'' in the Journal of the British Interplanetary Society. The paper changed rover research from building the one, big, expensive robot to building lots of little cheap ones, and it also maked the idea of building a robot somewhat more accessible to the average person.

In 1993 an eight legged robot was developed at Carnegie Mellon University called Dante to collect data from a harsh environment similar to what we might find on another planet. However, Dante failed to collect gases from because of a broken fiber optic cable. In 1994 Dante II, a more robust version of its predicessor, descended into the crater of Alaskan volcano Mt. Spurr and completed the mission with a success.

robotuna drive train and covered mock-upRobotuna was a biomimetic robot that was designed to swim and resemble a blue fin tuna and built by David Barrett for his doctoral thesis at MIT in 1996.

Honda's P2 humanoid robot was first shown in 1996. Standing for ''Prototype Model 2'', P2 was an integral part of Honda's humanoid development project; over 6 feet tall, P2 was smaller than its predecessors and appeared to be more human like in its motions.

SojournerIn 1997 The Pathfinder Mission landed on Mars. Its robotic rover Sojourner, rolled down a ramp and onto Martian soil in early July. It continued to broadcast data from the Martian surface until September.

Sojourner performed semi-autonomous operations on the surface of Mars as part of the Mars Pathfinder mission; equipped with an obstacle avoidance program. Sojourner was capable of planning and navigating routes to study the surface of the planet. Sojourner's ability to navigate with little data about its environment and nearby surroundings allowed the robot to react to unplanned events and objects.

The robotic dog AIBO of Sony was introduced in 1999. The AIBO was capable of interacting with humans. Then Sony also revealed its Sony Dream Robots, small humanoid robots in development for entertainment.

ASIMOThe famous robot ASIMO of Honda was revealed as the most advanced result of Honda's humanoid project in 2000. ASIMO can run, walk, communicate with humans, interact with its environment, recognize voice and posture.

On January 3rd and 24th the Mars rovers Spirit and Opportunity land on the surface of Mars. Launched in 2003, the two robots will drive many times the distance originally expected, and are still operating.

In 2005 Honda introduced an updated version of ASIMO that has new behaviors and capabilities.

A 4-legged robot called ''Starfish'' that was capable of of self modeling and learning to walk after having been damaged was created at Cornell University in 2006.

Dynamic iTech

<img style="cursor:pointer; LCDs are common because they offer some real advantages over other display technologies. They are thinner and lighter and draw much less power than cathode ray tubes (CRTs)

But why it is called liquid crystal display? from name 'liquid crystal', We think of a crystal as a solid material like quartz, usually as hard as rock, and a liquid is obviously different.

How could any material combine the two stats? As we know there are three common stats of matter: solid, liquid and gaseous. Solids act the way they do because their molecules always maintain their orientation and stay in the same position with respect to one another. The molecules in liquids are just the opposite: They can change their orientation and move anywhere in the liquid.

But there are some substance that have some special properties that their molecules tend to maintain their orientation, like the molecules in a solid, but also move around to different positions, like the molecules in a liquid. This means that liquid crystals are neither a solid nor a liquid. by to a little heat it change its state from solid to liquid.

There are several categories of liquid crystal substance like in solid and liquids depends upon temperature and particular nature of substance. Liquid crystal have several distinct Phases and one of them is called "nematic phase". Which make possible LCDs.

One of feature of liquid crystals that they are affected by electric current . One of liquid crystal of nematic phase called twisted nematics (TN) is naturally twisted. Applying an electric current to these liquid crystals will untwist them to varying degrees, depending on the current's voltage. LCDs use these liquid crystals
because they react predictably to electric current in such a way as to control light passage.

A simple LCD is shown in fig. and working can also understand by given image. LCD use two glass filter but on perpendicular angle of plane of polarization. and between them liquid crystal is applied.

working of LCD
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 280px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgNsisFCyBwz18VaTLYcnqDqoESL_R6wc2GOWXfNmD0tKciRun9mkGFrR7Y_7Q4Fd2atUjDjPnoPPGezhiL_W2dBiOMRgiHaJnumFTIsMShdDkqJtpf3Lpr1YjLhXcFDsbmfpIy_DF5r7mU/s320/working+of+LCD.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5722990570577908530" />

Two transparent electrode is attached on both side of liquid crystal in this case shape of 8. Electrode is used to apply voltage to make liquid crystal untwisted. when voltage is applied liquid crystal they get untwisted and the plane of polarization of light is unaffected, when light reached to second filter, plane of polarization are perpendicular and light not passes and like a dark number on LCD.

<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" Every project has beginnings, a middle period during which activities move the project toward completion, and an ending (either successful or unsuccessful). A standard project typically has the following four major phases (each with its own agenda of tasks and issues): initiation, planning, execution, and closure. Taken together, these phases represent the path a project takes from the beginning to its end and are generally referred to as the project

Initiation phase

During the first of these phases, the initiation phase, the project objective or need is identified; this can be a business problem or opportunity. An appropriate response to the need is documented in a business case with recommended solution options. A feasibility study is conducted to investigate whether each option addresses the project objective and a final recommended solution is determined. Issues of feasibility (“can we do the project?”) and justification (“should we do the project?”) are addressed.

Once the recommended solution is approved, a project is initiated to deliver the approved solution and a project manager is appointed. The major deliverables and the participating work groups are identified and the project team begins to take shape. Approval is then sought by the project manager to move on the detailed planning phase.

Planning phase

The next phase, the planning phase, is where the project solution is further developed in as much detail as possible and you plan the steps necessary to meet the project’s objective. In this step, the team identifies all of the work to be done. The project’s tasks and resource requirements are identified, along with the strategy for producing them. This is also referred to as scope management. A project plan is created outlining the activities, tasks, dependencies and timeframes. The project manager coordinates the preparation of a project budget; by providing cost estimates for the labor, equipment and materials costs. The budget is used to monitor and control cost expenditures during project execution.

Once the project team has identified the work, prepared the schedule and estimated the costs, the three fundamental components of the planning process are complete. This is an excellent time to identify and try to deal with anything that might pose a threat to the successful completion of the project. This is called risk management. In risk management, “high-threat” potential problems are identified along with the action that is to be taken on each high threat potential problem, either to reduce the probability that the problem will occur or to reduce the impact on the project if it does occur. This is also a good time to identify all project stakeholders, and to establish a communication plan describing the information needed and the delivery method to be used to keep the stakeholders informed.

Finally, you will want to document a quality plan; providing quality targets, assurance, and control measures along with an acceptance plan; listing the criteria to be met to gain customer acceptance. At this point, the project would have been planned in detail and is ready to be executed.

Execution phase

During the third phase, the execution phase, the project plan is put into motion and performs the work of the project. It is important to maintain control and communicate as needed during execution. Progress is continuously monitored and appropriate adjustments are made and recorded as variances from the original plan. In any project a project manager will spend most of their time in this step. During project execution, people are carrying out the tasks and progress information is being reported through regular team meetings. The project manager uses this information to maintain control over the direction of the project by measuring the performance of the project activities comparing the results with the project plan and takes corrective action as needed. The first course of action should always be to bring the project back on course, i.e., to return it to the original plan. If that cannot happen, the team should record variations from the original plan and record and publish modifications to the plan. Throughout this step, project sponsors and other key stakeholders should be kept informed of project status according to the agreed upon frequency and format. The plan should be updated and published on a regular basis

Status reports should always emphasize the anticipated end point in terms of cost, schedule and quality of deliverables. Each project deliverable produced should be reviewed for quality and measured against the acceptance criteria. Once all of the deliverables have been produced and the customer has accepted the final solution, the project is ready for closure.

Closure phase

During the final closure, or closeout phase, the emphasis is on releasing the final deliverables to the customer, handing over project documentation to the business, terminating supplier contracts, releasing project resources and communicating the closure of the project to all stakeholders. The last remaining step is to conduct lessons learned studies; to examine what went well and what didn’t. Through this type of analysis the wisdom of experience is transferred back to the project organization, which will help future project teams.

Advanced Robotics Technology

<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" Do you double click the network icon and check the connection speed? If I feel my dial up is slow, I'll disconnect, redial and try again. I may also try an access number to a different local city.

There is a wealth of products and information on the internet promising 56k connection and a faster modem speed. There is very little information explaining why sometimes dial up is slow no matter what you try. Many people can't connect at higher dial up modem speed due to the distance they live from the phone company.

If housing is situated too far from the phone company the phone signal will slowly degrade in quality the longer the distance the signal has to travel. The signal will also become weak, making it difficult to get decent 56k modem speed due to diminished signal strength. It would be necessary for the phone company to amplify the phone signal as is before it gets to your 56k speed modem. That amplifier is known as a repeater or line repeater. Line repeaters extend the reach of the phone company to its customers. Unfortunately any distortions get amplified and distributed as well. An amplified phone signal is inherently flawed and will adversely effect 56k modem speed.

Phone companies may also opt to incorporate a line repeater within their network because it makes the network less expensive to build and maintain. Lets say 3 houses were built 10 miles from the phone company. In order to get phone service to each house, the phone company would have to run an individual phone line to each house. Thats 3 phone lines, each 10 miles long.

Now imagine being able to run one phone line 9 miles to a line repeater. The phone signal arrives at the repeater, is amplified then split into 3 signals. Each signal is then sent out to each home along 3 lines that are only 1 mile long each. If we didnt have line repeaters there would be a thick mass of phone lines everywhere. You get the idea.

Keep in mind analog phone networks were originally built to carry verbal communications, not digital dial up modem signals. That is why sometimes depending on where you live, maximum attainable dial up internet connect speed on an amplified signal is 33.6k or less. Call your local phone company to find out if you are on a repeater. If you are on a phone network that doesn't have a repeater between you and the phone company, you'll likely achieve modem baud rate closer to 56k modem speed.
