I don’t mean to be a spastic writer on this site. Arsbars.com means so much to me that I hate to treat it like an old forgotten outlet. This was the creation of many long stories, my first cutting of the teeth at blogging, documented my first loves, first moves and so much more. Every week I go into there are plans to write, to make time to not think and simply write. Write about life and love. Maybe use the Flip Cam and create a video blog (vlog) or something to attribute my 26 years of existence. Another thing to work on..

Most of America is in agreeance with me that 2011 is going by too quickly. Maybe it is all the news stories, the social media outlets, and the ways we create this forever updating status’ and Twitter tweets. We are creating this blur that is our life by living at the a pace that is slow, yet quickly forgotten.

Over the past few months we’ve had football games, the cold passed around our house, bike rides (not enough), football wins, football losses, BMX races, birthday parties, chili cook offs, and so many new moments.

With October creeping by, Halloween on our doorsteps knocking and ideas running strong I look forward to slowing down the pace. Managing time and expectations better. Working on communication and creating exciting dreams.

We all have milestones we celebrate every year. For most people it is something like a birthday, or anniversary. There is one milestone I’ve had my whole life, my birthday. Last year on October 1st this day every year became my new top milestone, it was the day that we all know well – my bike/car accident. I’m alive and the first year after that milestone has changed me in so many ways.

The man who is swimming against the stream knows the strength of it.–Woodrow Wilson

More family, bike rides, more goals and more passion for living. These are all work in progress but to this day I can say I am making ground which is good place to start.

I thank all of you for getting me through the past year. I thank you for the coffee, the phone calls, the tweets, the bike rides, the late night talks or early morning alarms. I am surprised by the new friendships I have been bound to and the ones I’m working on recovering.

Life is an amazing thing, sometimes you need to be in the instant where your life could have gone a different way to make you realize that you can live one way, or push yourself and all those surrounding you.

Celebrate Life

This morning I spent roughly 32 minutes running next to Kimberlee as we ran around the City of Charlotte for the Komen Race for the Cure. My first 5k, my first solid 3 mile run with out stopping in a while, it was painful, it hurt but it was so motivating to be surrounded by such powerful people. People running to celebrate their lives, to honor those that have past or in hopes of something to cure the pain.

I planned on walking at times but I couldn’t allow myself. As a 5 year old girl trotted along her mother ahead of me. How could I stop when she had the passion to continue?

Goals

To keep in check, I made my goal of raising $500 thanks to all of you and I barely missed my 30 min 5k goal at 32.5 mins. Pretty darn good for a hilly as heck course!
