2015 New Year Resolution Inspirations

Welcome 2015! 2014 has wisped by so quickly.

You know what a new year means, it's time that we find out where we are, rethinking our accomplishments and readjusting our mindset! For this year, I've decided to be less broad - to think less about the goal/outcome, and focus more on the mindset I'll be adapting to to be able to get there.

I've drawn some great inspiration to online articles, here are my new years resolutions:

1. Spend less!

This hole in my pocket is mainly from food. Food has become my motive and it has impacted me in the wrong ways, I've been spending a disastrous amount throughout 2014, I must have found myself eating out 23 times in one month, this takes a toll on not only my wallet, but on the scale as well! Dining should be a treat, not a necessity. I commit to limiting my dining to two times a week, max.

2. Fit in fitness.

I've been constantly told of the 'creeping' 5 pounds a year gain, and I am a clear victim to that (dammit). Being fit not only makes you look, but feel better! I commit to fitting in fitness into my weekly schedule by daily exercises and actually making use of the compulsory payments to my school gym,

3. Minimize alcohol

Alice, do you really need that pint with your meal? Since discovering beer, I've become entirely addicted - I don't know what mixed drinks are anymore. Anything dark on the rocks or a pint of craft beer, I'd demand! I need to stop. Beer is tremendously high in carbs, a negative lot at that. I commit to minimizing my overall alcohol intake in one eve', as well as leaning towards non-beer beverages.

4. Get more sleep, 8 hours minimum.

The heavy belief that if you want more of X, you need to sacrifice X. 2014 hasn't fared so well in less sleep for me. Sleep is a miracle worker, not my worse enemy. Poor sleeping patterns leads to obesity and diabetes! Nothing good here. An adequate amount of sleep means a happy and bright Alice!

5. Keep learning.

I need to constantly be an open book, I am no where near complete. By consistently exploring, I will also be able to discover more of what I'm passionate about. I commit to digging deeper, and improving my knowledge on whatever I'd like the focus on day after day.

"Either write something reading or do something worth writing."

6. Volunteer more!

Volunteering just feels good. I love the network of people I come across, they're all a very like-minded and positive bunch. I commit to actively searching for volunteering opportunities.

7. Organize my life better.

The biggest issue I have is taking on way too many projects at once. I need to stop believing that I am invincible and that I need to "seize the day" and be outside for 14 hours of my day. I need to tone it down. I will commit to becoming more organized by:

- Setting a weekly schedule to make time for personal activities, time with friends and errands

- Creating a to-do list the previous evening, this way I will become much stress-free

- Become a better food and beauty blogger

8. Read more.
Knowledge is power. I will commit by always having a set of preloaded e-books in my phone and in my bag ready to flip open during my one-hour commutes. I will actively find topics I'll be interested in reading - I already have a few I'm already leaning towards which is exciting!

It's been strange. Since my encounter of MAC's Diva and Rebel, I haven't had a dark lippie out of my bag. I have compiled a nice collection of them, and with the arrival of these darlings from Motives Cosmetics, I truly have no reason to stem out of the addiction.

Motives is widely known for their highly pigmented and rich formula; at the price of MAC, and, with the addition of saving (killing two birds with one stone) - it's a no brainer!

These three beauties were happily added to my newly ever-growing collection of lipsticks - since reducing the 40+ lipsticks to a narrow eight once I moved to Canada.

They all look the same, eh? Too curious of how they'd look swatched.

I usually suffer from extremely flakey lips after testing and removed two lipsticks, with how smooth and creamy each one of these were, there were no problems with it at all. I really liked each one,

1. Motives for Lala: Venti struck me up as a very dark, blue-toned brown shade once swatched, but it looked great on! Almost a relative of our beloved MAC's Diva,

2. Motives for Lala: I loved the packaging of Naughty! The click and shmick packaging for Naughty was only the cherry on top, it is very beautiful and rich.

3. Motives by Loren Ridinger's Berry Sexy sure surprised me. the pay off was a much more maroon version of Naughty, but it looked like a brighter deep pink/red on the lips.

Review: Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner + Giveaway

Eyeliners. Since my first $12 purchase of a Sephora Liquid Liner in 2008, I've been relying on it since. In either two forms it came in, liquid or gel. But it's only been over a year and a half since I incorporated the winged liner as my every day look, and it's only been a few months since I've become acquainted with gel eyeliners. Not such a good habit, but, I rely on a swipe of this across each eyelid a day.

It makes a difference.

I received one of the holy grail of all gel liners (since the beginning of time) from the lovely Ashley of Mizspa. Mizspa is an online beauty shopping site which carries many big named brands, SKII, Clarins and Lancome to name a few, do check out their website, here.

It was with great pleasure to affiliate with them, having followed their instagram for a while, I especially appreciate the love and effort they put into packaging their goods. Having a great love for eyeliners, I chose the Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner set to review and share!

The Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner is perfect! Smooth and rich pigmentation which makes application easy. It dries matte and is budge-proof staying throughout the day, I haven't found any fault.

Unveiling!

It was a good day

Millenium was sporting this ribbon for the succeeding weeks :p

It's all so nicely packaged. Including a BB Gel Eyeliner in Black Ink and Sepia Ink and, a brush!

I wouldn't recommend using the brush, unless you have a guide to use - it's really not suited for applying angled liquid liner, here, I'm using the brush - pretty tricky to get a pointed end!

Round two with a different brush, this time I used an angled eyebrow brush by Royal & Langnickel - it works! Also seeing how insignificant my eyes look without gel liner -

Oh, how I love eyeliner!

I found this gel eyeliner to be very pigmented and creamy. It was very easy to work with as it was thin and smooth upon application. It dries matte and is budge-proof throughout the day. It dries in the right amount of time making it perfect!

Review: Girlz Nailz' Gold on Black Fishnet Nail Wraps

The amount of time I've spent looking at nail wraps, and... the amount of nail wraps I already have on stash. They are complex, fiddly little things, which always turned me off from trying them out. Always with the fear of not getting them 'just right' and messing the whole thing up. But with the arrival of a nicely designed nail wrap sheet of Girlz Nailz on my desk, I had no excuse! I had to over come this fear.

I made a great choice in choosing the these nail wraps! They already look great from the packet. There are 22 nail wraps in the pack, enough for a full set of toe and finger nails! Upon unveiling the wraps from it's plastic packaging, it has a nice shine and a smooth finish.

And, hold up! As good as the quality of Minx nails, Girlz Nailz was previously a distributor to two leading UK nail wrap brands before starting up their own company - you are guaranteed quality!

Additional instructions are to heat the wrap with a hair dryer for 4-5 seconds before application.

Following the instructions, and choosing the nail wraps which best fit my nail. I measured only one hand of course!

I was surprised by the material of the wrap. It was the perfect thickness to maneuver and stuck incredibly well.

Stick, file down and repeat!

(Day 3) I've made the decision to peel off the top plastic layer that has been lifting it's self up (lil ganga) I did this to all three nails besides my pinky - I was being figgity :p, it wasn't necessary.

(Day 5) It starts fading and stretching out

I finally decided to peel it off completely on the 7th day as I wanted to try out something new on my nails.

Throughout the wear, it did start to peel an itty bit - but only on my left hand (which I applied first) I guess it's because I did it worse job than my left hand. It was of great quality and stuck well for a week! I also received many compliments over my nails, so even though there looks to be little flaws up close, it looks fantastic from far away!

What I love about the Girlz Nailz' Nail Wraps:

- Perfect thickness to apply with ease (after practice, for the first few nails)

- These are a lot better quality than other nail wraps on the market! They are of Minx quality (having distributed to two leading UK brands), but they have set theirs at a far more affordable price!

- It looked great, throughout all seven days of wear!

- Such a great array of variety to look over

- Of course, easy removal - heating up and peeling off!

Swatches + Review: Maybelline Color Sensational Vivids in Vibrant Mandarin, Hot Plum, Fuchsia Flash and Brazen Berry

Sighting these lipsticks in my local Shoppers, it never itched me at all to bother with these. Still being as frugal as ever, $12/lipstick... I just couldn't do it. I am super appreciative of the drugstore brands here being a lot lower priced than in Australia, but I still can't weigh out the costs.

(But I will definitely be throwing [drugstore brand makeup] hunnids once I am employed *giggles*)

I always admired the amount of makeup people in the US/Canada would be selling online. To my luck, I saw a lady selling six Maybelline Vivid lippies, but I still couldn't do it, even though it would have been $7.50~ a piece, it was just too much for my pocket to handle. I passed the offer and found myself curling in my bed the next few days, wide awake, thoughts going through my head of regret. I would awaken each successive morning, and peep into my, now- depressing lipstick box, with no shades I would want to wear. It is really hard now, from being buried (not really, just fourty+ lippies) a few months ago, and to now, just having a measily 12 to choose from.

Another offer came up, of four lippies this time, and now, $8.00/ea. There were 3/4 in this bundle that I wanted. Oh, the pinks!!! The purples!!! I had to do it. I accepted the invoice, and a week and a half later...

I quickly scoffed down my blueberry waffles, sorted out my college application, and opened each lipstick in awe. I can't describe my happiness opening the package this morning. They are so beautiful.

I am especially in love with Brazen Berry! It's a purple that I've never tried before. Vibrant Mandarin, I knew, once I opened the package that I wouldn't look so great on me, and that was true. But I do need a red-orange tone lippy in my life again (I previously had BYS Wet Red).

These are super pigmented, buttery, moisturising and stains so nicely!

A purchase, with no regrets!

Nail Art: Maroon Embellished Claws

Chipped nails are a no go, I was just about to paint these babies! I sat on my bed, sighing and looked my one chipped index nail... How can I work my way around this, not have the standard curved nail and still use one of my new polishes...

Essense came out with their new Colour and Go nail polish range and of course, I had to buy a few...

Finally my change to try them out!

Products used:

Essence's Colour & Go 'Do you speak love?'

Microbeads off eBay!

Step 1:

I filed each one of them into a 'claw', 'v' form.

It looked pretty ugly when it was done, but I carried on and hoped for the best.

Step 2:

Painting two layers of Essence's Colour & Go 'Do you speak love?' on each nail:

Actually looks pretty cute...

Step 3:

And time to coat with a thick clear coat and embellish!

I went with three beads down the center from the bottom!

Voila!

It's true colour during daytime.... I love it!

I think this is the sweetest look - especially with the whole bling along the middle.
This stayed on for four days! Pretty awesome!

I created this video a while ago... (January 2013) just before I was going to head off to Manda's 21st! Haha - funniest thing, while I was taking pictures of my not very nice finished results, Tez said she was going to be down in five minutes!!!! I have never rushed so fast in my life.

Creating my daily makeup routine with out a mirror *giggles*.

And windows movie maker hates me clearly.

It was quick and fun hehe - I think I did a terrific job with my lipstick hehe.

E.L.F Haul! + A bit of an update...

Hi cuties! So you know what being in Canada means....

Finally being able to order and try out all of the products from the U.S. I've ever dreamed of!

One morning, getting ready for my morning class, I was sitting at my table applying my everyday eyeliner and had an epiphany! Applying my eyeliner, I dipped my applicator into what was left of the product and sighed... Well, I can't restock on anymore of my holy grail liquid liner here... And it must be forever until I'll be able to visit Australia. What am I mean't to do now??? Then all of the raved eyeliner products I've ever heard of were scrolling through my head... And I realised... I don't have to keep dreaming about owning the products anymore! Since I'm in Canada - I can buy them all!

So visiting google, typed 'elf' and hitting enter on my keyboard, it brought me to the magical site of elf, which for lucky me, was having free shipping at the time (I wouldn't have purchased w/o free shipping otherwise....ha). Quickly filling up my shopping card, then reducing it to 7 items, my total came to $19. Are you serious elf? This is awesome!

...But you better be damn good.

I received the package in about two weeks - All of the goodies came in a drawstring plastic elf bag with the receipt. At this time, I was studying for my Macroeconomics midterm (I'm not proud to say that it's the first time I've ever studied properly...) so you can see my Study Buddy pills sitting at the upper corner in the picture above "It's practically cheating!".

1. Cream Eyeliner - Black ($3.00)

I ordered two of these babies! I wear eyeliner on a daily basis so I felt like this is something I definitely needed to stock up on - and I was right! Amazing staying power and pigmentation!

2. Eyelash Curler ($1.00) I bought this as a shopping cart filler since it was only one dollar (and because the rating was four and a half stars....). But I didn't expect much, I could have been the 5% that thought this product was terrible - but no sirree, I'm so glad I didn't! No pinches and an innovative spring for lash-curling ease!

3. HD Blush - Showstopper & Superstar ($3.00)

I've only swatched these but I can already say the pigmentation is amazing (and difficult to simply rub off...). Super excited to get around to using them properly!

4. Contouring Blush and Bronzing Powder - St. Lucia ($3.00)

Looks familiar hey, I'm pretty certain that this blush/bronzer duo was inspired by NARS' Orgasm/Laguna duo... Just a slight feeling. I've only tried this out three times so far and it works great, already a long time Laguna user, I can certainly opt for this cheaper alternative once I hit pan!

And that's it - I can't wait to have time to blog some more!

An update:
I've moved to Canada! I'm still feeling like I'm trying to settle in after two months of being here.
Blogging wise, I've been everywhere, literally - after a long hiatus, hopping from Wonderarsy to Alice&Milz...

Nail Art: Pastel & Dots with FOA

The difference in a nail look by just adding specks of glitter! This is an easy peasy look. Here I added orange hexagonal glitter pieces as an accent on my ring finger. I used Face of Australia's Orange You Glad You Came? and Castle in the Sky. They looked terrific all together.

My two tips. Face of Australia created such a lovely range of pastels, they look great mixed together. I'm pretty devo that the brand isn't around for me anymore, they are coming out with so many new products, I'm just admiring from afar.

Begin lining glitter pieces, I used a toothpick.

Voila!

Such an easy way to brighten up a mani using just a few glitter pieces. The nail polish had a lovely application and lasted just over four days. I rely on Face of Australia for it's quality and colour range! They always get it spot on.

Nail Art: Birthday Nails for the Birthday Girl

First post for 2013. I turned 20 guys! I went on many food adventures that I spent with my favorite people.

What a better way to spend a snippet of my birthday than painting birthday nails?

I stuck to a bit of pastel and light colours.

Now without further adieu, I will show you how I did it!

Step 1:

One strip of color half way down your nail

Step 2: The wick

With a stripper brush, a piece of hair, what ever works for ya, I dipped into my liquid liner (I know.. it worked though okay...) and made a little strip.

Step 3: The flame

Make a little tear drop thing

Step 4: Making the flame look more like a flame

Now a yellow mini tear drop thing!

Step 5: Candy stripes

White stripes across each little block of colour and a clear coat on top. I was admiring my nails at dinner at Chefs Gallery.

And those are my birthday nails. After my birthday week, I scraped off the flames. Hehe.

I've always thought Rim's Misty Jade as a bit dark... Looking to brighten it up with some white here and there did just the trick!

Method:

Two coats of Rimmel's Misty Jade

With a white stripper brush, or whatever you have, make lines as so:

Repeat with the rest of your nails.

And voila!

I chipped away the middle and ring finger. This is after 7 days of wear. It would have lasted a lot longer if I didn't get sick of the shade.

My verdict:

This nail polish is fantastic! Lasts incredibly long, it just takes double the time to dry.... I've never came across any nail polish with a formula such as this.

Oh boy.... Last October I had this awesome plan that next October I would come up with a halloween makeup look for the end of each week... That did not go through.

This morning, writing the date, I realised.... It's the last day of October. I rushed home after work (procrastinated with a few minecraft vids...) then got to work! Thirty minutes of daylight to spare before my pictures won't look as great.... -my flash on my camera stopped working :( boo hoo.

I was going to do a quick video tutorial on this but my camera battery was close to dead, nothing goes right for me...

Thirty minutes later, and this is what I came up with!

I'm not even sure what look I'm going for, I just wanted something dark and a bit dreary...

Hello my loves! When I had first gotten into makeup, NYX was the most amazing brand in the world to me. NYX this, that, EVERYTHING. I am now sitting with a bunch of lipsticks in my box of lipsticks I don't use anymore....

Revlon Colorburst Lipstick in Ruby - Review and Swatches

Hellooooo! I have always been on the hunt for the perfect lipstick. Whenever I see a lipstick under $12, more often than not, I will pick it up!

Lucky me to have found this gem for $5. I purchased it's sisters at a BOGOF offer for $22.

My verdict:

I really wish these lippies would last longer... Rev has got it all down in the moisturising department, now I'd like it to last all day please! I wouldn't purchase any more lippies from their range, I think I've already retired my options! If you want to check out anything, their Soft Nude is one of my favourites though! But I wouldn't purchase it at their retail price ($22), go on the hunt for places that sell em for cheaper!

Colour Me In: Black! My (once) HG Liquid Liner - Revlon Colorstay

What I find odd is that I haven’t blogged about a majority of the beauty products that I use most! One liquid liner that I’ve used since the day I discovered how to wing the perfect eyeline is this- Revlon's colourstay in blackest black.

I've repurchased this fella 3 times and it's sister, the pen liner once. Until I found s
omething even better.... (Will post about it soon hehe)

Abit of drizzle under water and wiped lightly.

This product is absolutely not waterproof. Don't expect of to be.. (Im on my phone blogging since my laptop died... if my laptop wasn't dead, I would link you to a picture of me being the aftermath of bawling my eyes out while wearing this liquid liner... not a pretty sight... nor was it a pretty morning)

What I loved:

- Super black! Pigmented

- Lasts all day if you learn not to rub your eyes

- Get the hang of the brush and I guarantee you, perfect application every time!

- Oh only if it was waterproof...

Colour Me In: Brown! - My everyday, barely there eyeshadow routine.

This week is brown! The first thing boring Alice thought of when she heard brown, was eyeshadow! My flash hasn't been working on my camera so I'm forever relying on daylight! To especially make sure I didn't wake up late and had time to create this post, I pulled an all nighter. Not a good idea... I'm on my fifth cup of caffeine with 5 hours left til' home sweet home and I've microslept twice. Ohhh, joy.

Okay so this post will be showing you how I create my everyday makeup look! Just a hint of brown, and it changes the whole look up!

I apply liquid liner on a daily basis. My eyes just look odd and incomplete without it now.

NYX Round Lipstick in Power!

Method:

1. Bare n' primed lids

2. Apply a dash of brown on the outer corners and blend both sides

(Can you see the line on my right eye? I blended the left side already!)

3. Apply highlighter all over lids

4. Liquid liner timmme!

Yay for both eyes

And finitos!

Nothing fancy but I love it!

IMATS 2012 + Haul!

Hi! So as you all know, IMATS was on over the weekend. The weekend we've all been anticipating for, I was incredibly excited because I knew I would have so much fun with the girls, and I did! IMATS last year, for me, was a bit of a wreck, being more prepared getting in this year had really helped!

Tram had rocked up to my house at 7:30 and I had just woken up, with 8 minutes to spare of time to get ready and hop over to the station, we got there just in time to miss our train. I didn't mind at all though because I always have fun just chilling with Tram!

And of course, being as unprepared as we were, we never look at maps and absolutely wing it. We were meant to walk our way over to Harbourside but instead found ourselves at Circular Quay....

I doubled up on the eyebrow brush because I use it evvveerryday.. And it's another 365 days til' IMATS!

I didn't spend too much, I really wish I purchased some eyeshadows from Inglot.. Just because I love their palettes! And some more lip tars, dammit, I wanted Strutter but it was sold out and the rest didn't tickle my fancy too much.

Well, it was an awesome day as expected and a successful day of shopping, especially being able to take advantage of Tez' discount card hehe.

Colour Me In: Purple! - Rimmel Lasting Finish in #04

Purple is easily one of my favourite shades to use when applying eyeshadow (ye kno whad I mean)... But I decided to kill my streak in eyeshadow posts for this series and do a purple lipstick!

The other day, I dropped by BigW and purchased a few goods.

Those goods included this purple lippy by Rimmel's Kate Moss lippy range.

I was super excited (I couldn't wait until IMATS this weekend to get my ideal purple lippy....), so I impulse bought Rimmel's one...

I actually absolutely love the look of black lips. But it's way too dark to wear.... So a purple lippy or dark red will have to do!

Fraid' it's not so great.... Lasting? Don't get ahead of yourself.

I couldn't wait to lather it into my lips, I opened it up waiting in line at the post office, taking pics along the way of course!

I love their packaging!

And the signature crown on the top of course.

Smells good! I used my reverse phone camera to apply it... But stupid Alice already had pink lipstick on.... that feathered out.... so I had a kinda pink outlined purple lips walking back home... Oh well!

Home sweet home, I cleaned up my lips and reapplied the lipstick

It's creamy, but doesn't last too long...

I still love it though! (Until I find another purple lippy) ...but you can see that it starts to fade after an hour.... And completely vanishes after you eat..

An hour later and it's bit more faded, see how it's more pinkish?

This will definitely not last after a meal... (And it didn't.)

Why I love it:

-Pleasant scent

-Gorgeous shade

-Super moisturising

Ehhhh...

- Starts fading in less than an hour

-You have to reapply many times

My verdict:

As much as I like this shade, the effort to constantly reapply and check up on it is not worth it! It is nothing like it's sister lippy, #20. I will stick with this until I find another lippy of this shade that does a better job.

Attending IMATS 2012, the make-up wonderland.

Attending IMATS last year.... I was no where near prepared. From the clothes I wore to the super human strength that was required ludging around all those bags.... But this weekend, I'm pretty confident to say - I got this!

IMATS, standing for International Makeup Artist Trade Show is a wonderland for makeup frenzy beings like myself. It is an event covering two days - September 29th and 30th 2012 - where makeup artists, students and exhibitors showcase their work and products. The days are scheduled with live makeup demos along with an incredible opportunity to purchase products at a (usually) discounted price.

A few things I wish I knew last year...

Check the weather. Expect bipolar weather regardless of how certain you are, wearing a short sleeved top and a skirt will not suffice
Do your research. Check out the list of exhibitors, filter through out reviews and swatches, spam open those many tabs on your web browser and figure out what you want to buy!
Save, save save! Even after selling my dq ticket last year, I still only had $30 to spend. Ridiculous!
Remember your camera. Take lots of pictures.... you have to! Being the forgetful Alice I am, of course I had to leave my camera at home!
Bring snacks... A lot of them.
Check out all they have to offer! Check out the schedule for this weekend and organise your day accordingly (but I'm leaving that up to Trammie as usual hehehehehe).

Colour Me In: Blue! Eyeshadow Tutorial

Hi!

Once again, another post from the Colour Me In series and another eyeshadow tutorial!

I actually started with wanting to use other shades (white and purple) next to the blue before.... And recorded it... And it turned out to be a disaster. With 20 minutes til' I had to leave for work, I decided to stick to shades I was more comfortable with..

Starting with my bare face of course! (I woke up at 6:30 on this morning and slapped on some make up to record a video of the progress of growing green onions! Check out my post here)

I used my trusty Manly palette for this look. Never lets me down!

Method:

1. Prime! Of course, I used my concealer all over my lids.

With a blue shade,

Apply to outer corners, eccentuating at the crease.

With a highlight,

apply to inner corners and use it to blend

Line your eyes

Annnd done!

Meep

But really, all these looks that I strut in all my eyeshadow posts, I would not wear out haha.... They're just super fun to create!

Nails: Creating a Pink to Purple Gradient

I have a feeling there will be alot of gradient effects on my nails until I've used up all the colour combinations I think would look shnazzy...

Pastel pink > Darker pink > Dark plum shade

Sitting infront of my computer getting ready to study and I realised that I have not painted my nails in two days! So I hopped on over to my drawer and pulled out my recently purchased OPI in Mod About You and swiped away. And for an even bigger reason to procrastinate, I didn't want to have plain jane nails so I decided to gradientify it with a few extra polishes.

Method:

Mod about you! I never noticed this until I was editing this photo, but the plastic part of the nail brush has 'OPI' embossed on it! (Arrow pointing)

1. Two coats

Ulta3's Strawberry Sundae, a gorgeous pink but too kiddish on its own.

2. Layer one - Sponge on 2/3 of the way down

3. Layer two - Sponge 3/5 of the way down

4. Layer three - Sponge 1/3 of the way down

I was going to leave it at this, but it was too nicki-minaj-y for me

Ulta3's Mulberry. This is the shade I've been wearing on my toes since I purchased this nail polish (Over six months ago!)

5. Sponge lightly 1/2 of the way down, repeat until you reach the opacity you desire!

6. Clean up (Two days late of taking this pic...).. And Voila!

On my right hand I decided to skip the pink and went straight into Mulberry after two coats of Mod About You.

I like it!

Colour Me In: Green! - Tutorial: Rainforest Inspired Eyeshadow Look

The shade for this week's Colour Me In Thursdays is green!

This 'Colour me in' series is a collaboration of your four beloved bloggers, Tez, Manda, Trammie and myself bringing you a shade from the colour spectrum each week!

It has been a while since I've last played with eyeshadow... Since October last year.... Yikes. I'm so surprised that my eyeshadow applying skills haven't turned out that bad.

For this week's shade, green, I decided to do an eyeshadow look. I immediately thought of using the shades you think of when you think of rainforests, and I am happy with how it turned out!

I've been letting my eyebrow hairs hang loose since Uni has started... Gosh, imagine what habit I'll get into once I have kids!

Got around to using the shades in my beloved and much neglected Manly palette

And a swipe of my favourite nude lipstick

The mirror I use to create all my looks! I haven't used this baby in so long.

By the way, I just recieved my camera battery in the mail so I'm back to using my camera... Thing is, that I haven't gotten use to the habit of using it, so half of the images below are without flash. Sorry!

Method:

1. Start with primed lids

2. Using a light lime green shade,

Swipe over 3/4 of your lid going up

3. And with a more jade shade,

Cover 3/4 of your lid leaving the insides (So that you can still see the lime on the inner corner of your eyes)

4. With a forest green-jade-ish shade,

Cover your outer corners

5. With a light eyeshadow of your choice,

Blend and cover below your brows

6. With a dark blue,

Blend into a small section of the outer corners.

7. With black,

*then I remembered to use flash... now the pictures can be bigger!

Blend an even smaller section of the outer corners.

8. Line your eyes annnnd some finishing touches (highlighting inner corners, mascara and lipstick),

Voila!

Products used: 180 Manly Palette, LA Colors 5 palette, Daiso Liquid Liner, Australis Concealer (as primer) in Dark, Australis Blush in Flash It! Royal and Langnickel Eyeshadow brush, Ecotools Blush Brush, Gloss Eyeshadow Brush, and NYX Eyeshadow in Highlight.
