Introduction
Do financially difficult conditions automatically lead to more economical and longer-lasting products? In this current discussion, both Darwinist model of the “survival of the fittest” as well as design icons from past crisis-ridden eras are presented as arguments.

Haunted: Contemporary Photography/Video/Performance
Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum
Part I: March 26–September 6, 2010
Part II: June 4–September 1, 2010
Much of contemporary photography and video seems haunted by the past, by the history of art, by apparitions that are reanimated in reproductive mediums, live performance, and the virtual world. By using dated, passé, or quasi-extinct stylistic devices, subject matter, and technologies, such art embodies a longing for an otherwise unrecuperable past.

Michener Art Museum (in the Outdoor Sculpture Garden)
March 20 - June 20, 2010
The James A. Michener Art Museum presents stone sculptures by artist Ayami Aoyama in the Outdoor Sculpture Garden from March 20 through June 20, 2010. Situated between the Museum and the Bucks County Library Center, this exhibit features marble and granite works that suggest both figurative forms and the landscape, in a style that is at once minimal and abstract.
