Art Music Justice Week is here! We’re excited (ok and maybe a little giddy to boot) and hope you are too.

While far from comprehensive, here are 5 ‘keys’ to our time together:

GET YOUR TICKETS & T-SHIRTS!

There are some tickets still available so order your tickets and t-shirts if you haven’t already. Just do it soon! Ticket prices go up for day of sales and they will be available at Will Call

DON’T LEAVE YOUR WALLET AT HOME

Bring cash or check to purchase tickets, or find helpful books or study guides in our Resource Center. Artists and other AMJ participants will have merchandise for sale

CARPOOL

Not only is it fuel-efficient and green of you, it’ll give you the chance to connect with friends and family and free up much-needed parking spaces for fellow AMJ-ers

DON’T MISS THE SEMINARS SATURDAY

The seminars, workshops and plenary sessions start at 9am (registration begins @ 8am). Check out the roster of topics here. The Resource Center will be available too offering books, study guides and other materials plus chances to learn more about organizations working on justice and famine relief. Don’t miss out!

BRING A FRIEND/MAKE A FRIEND

Art Music Justice provides a great opportunity to invite a friend to an engaging weekend of music, art and conversation centered on the need for justice. Our hope too is that new friendships will be formed and others deepened as conversations continue beyond the weekend.

We can’t wait to see you!

Art Music Justice is getting closer and honestly, it’s hard for us to contain our excitement! We hope you are getting excited, too. In these last few weeks before the Art Music Justice weekend, we’d love your help in getting the word out.

Here are some ways you can help:

Buy a ticket yourself!
OK, so maybe this one is pretty obvious and we’re hoping you’ve already done this. If not, you can buy tickets online at http://artmusicjustice.com/tickets

1) Tell/Invite Your Friends
Spread the word whether you email, call, or tweet them. You can point them to the website or to our Facebook page to learn more about Art Music Justice.

2) Get a Group Together
Connect up with 19 friends and get our special group rate. No foolin’. Contact us at info-at-artmusicjustice dot com to learn more.

3) Flyer Away!
You can print and hand out our flyer which is in PDF format and can be downloaded here

4) Become a Facebook Fan
We know you want to be our fan, friend and follower, so you (and your face) should join us now!

5) Pray
We want to be open to receive what God has in store for each of us during the weekend. We covet your prayers for our time together.

On behalf of the entire AMJ team, thanks so much for helping us spread the word about this amazing opportunity. We hope to see you at Art Music Justice.

A few years ago a pastor in the city asked if I would meet someone in his congregation whose work was in the world of national security. A senior official with complex responsibilities, he knew that his deepening faith required him to “think Christianly” about his life and labour, but he did not know where to begin.

What could he read? With whom could he talk? As he put it, “Day by day I have unimaginable evil coming across my desk. What am I supposed to do? How do I respond in light of my faith? I cannot do nothing—but what am I to do?”

And so we began to think together. I arranged a conversation with a handful of friends from across the city whose theological instincts I trusted, but whose own work ranged from the U.S. Congress to a Cabinet office to the State Department to a think tank: all people who with fear and trembling have given themselves to working out the meaning of their salvation in the world of politics.
