I've been asked by Ubuntu Malaysia Local Community to work on a bunting artwork for the upcoming Ubuntu Release Party event at Berjaya Time Square.

So, here it is.

Ubuntu-my t-shirt printing - The Community have decided.

Two days ago I've started my Ubuntu Malaysia community t-shirt design and it have gone through several changes and updates. Last night, I'm having a quick discussion with Ubuntu Malaysia LoCo team members on #ubuntu-my IRC channel which you can read the log here, some of community member bring up the issue on:

Why monochrome Sleeve Logo?
Why No embroidery?
could we cut the price?
t-shirt & print quality.

Previously, I've told you that I only found one printer who can print it on time. I couldn't spend much time to search for other printers due to my busy schedule which mean I don't have much choices. So, I leave it to them to find and select other printers that suit their requirement.

As the result of that discussion, the final specification for printing is:

Dark Brown t-shirt - 100% cotton, with sleeve grip and collar (Polo)
Colored Embroidery logo - on sleeve (and pocket side if possible). Actual size is 6x6 cm.
Silkscreen print on back, and pocket side (if couldn't do embroidery on pocket side). Back design actual size is A4 Landscape.
Price remain RM50 (they will try to reduce this) and those who ordered have to pay A.S.A.P. which is handled by wanfahmi (itiknila). This is because we don't have any community fund to pay it to printer and we are not getting any profit from that amount.

So, the order form is still open and you can still make your t-shirt order until they close it. I'm also leaving this handled by them.

If you like to print them yourself, I've make the source openly available under Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-Share Alike 2.5 License. You can download the Artwork Source and print or play with it. I use Inkscape version 0.46 before you ask.

I was asked to design logo for osdc.my. OSDC.my is Open Source Developers’ Conference which is a conference designed for developers, by developers. It covers numerous programming languages across a range of operating systems. Talks vary from introductory pieces through to the deeply technical. With three talks on at any time, spanning over three days; there is bound to be something of interest to any developers.

Here's some draft...

the first logo won the vote but I feel like it is too simple. So, I'm playing with other new design...

and this one with different eye color (mouse deer head)...

I'm still trying to get some more design out of my head.

Previously, I register my facebook account just because I like to try the Graffiti Wall. So I draw REDD brings bread for GRIN for Emila.

I'm playing with my graffiti wall on my facebook again today... maybe this is the beginning of my real facebook graffiti journey...

The Facebook Graffiti Wall is really useful for those who wanna learn drawing and coloring because we can review our drawing and also see how other people draw from beginning to the final artwork. I can see there are lots of superb artists and learn how they work on their drawing. Pretty amazing... here's mine, check it out...

Not an oil pastel portrait yet

I'm still trying to develop my oil pastel rendering skill... it is really hard. I can't even achieve the color I want yet... I don't know what to say anymore... I'm just not satisfied with it...

An Apple A Day

I'm trying to use Buncho Oil Pastel color which is typically hard oil pastel, but it is cheaper. The way of coloring and blending is also different from the softer oil pastel like the one that art students use. in order to get used with this oil pastels, I did some oil pastel coloring practice... and here's another practice stuff...

Sorry for no update in this blog due to my heavy workload lately. But today, I can't resist to post this video. I've been following Samtriggy news for years. He is a Malay guy who can play 3 Guitar simultaneously using his Guitar Tapping technique. Seriously, he is one of my motivation to practice guitar by myself in my free time. But I'm still at beginner level... heheh

In this awesome video, he is playing Oud or Gambus in Malay. And this song called, Rising Force... Enjoy!!

Mabok Kepayang CD Artworks

Previously, I did an initial sketch of the Mabok Kepayang art. Then I work on it digitally using my Wacom Tablet and GIMP. The digital painting at first, looks realistic where it is not what Zoy expect. He just expecting me to do a simple pencil sketch. I did the digital painting because of some comments on my previous initial sketch where they wanna see it coloured. After some fixes, to reduce the realism in the digital painting and position the art on the right location, here is the final output of the Dewangga Sakti - Mabok Kepayang CD artwork. All works are done using my Ubuntu Hardy Heron Laptop, GIMP - GNU Image Manipulation Program and Inkscape Vector Graphics Editor.

Thanks to Dewangga Sakti for honoring me to design their CD inlay, tray card and overlay. . By the way, here is the digital painting output before it is placed on the CD layout.
