Lately, I've been reading City Hunter, so here's a little fan art/study of the main character: Ryo Saeba. It's very interesting to work only with ink lines.

________

Here's a another little fennec fox (fighting wind). And this time I've recorded the whole creation process!

Salut,

OK, it's been more than 2 months that I didn't post anything...

So finally, I found some time to draw again. Well not that much, because I "only" made a quick speedpainting (~1h30), but it's better than nothing! I guess I've been watching too much Aaron Blaise painting wildlife animals. I've been influcenced ;)

Thud - Koom Valley - Cave of the Kings

2015-05-23T00:53:00.001-07:00

Hi,

Here is another painting inspired by Terry Pratchett's "Thud!" that I've just finished reading. This is really entertaining to paint from a book description. So, here is my take on the Cave of the Kings in Koom Valley.

Explanation WITH A LITTLE SPOIL:

In a cave under the Koom Valley, Bloodaxe, the dwarf king, and Diamond King, the leader of trolls, are peacefully playing the Thud game for ever. They have been turned into stone statues after their death. Each one is playing the opponent side (the troll plays dwarves and vice-versa). This chapter in the book really moved me; I see it as a symbol of understanding others by trying to put oneself in other people shoes. The message is somehow classical, but the allegory is brilliant. Oh yeah, and the little blue cube is supposed to be some kind of dwarf artefact that stored their last words for future generations. Read the book to learn more!

END OF SPOIL

Salut,

Explication AVEC UN LEGER SPOIL:

Sam Vimes and Chrysoprase

2015-04-27T00:38:00.000-07:00

Hi there,

Here's a scene inspired by the book I'm currently reading: "Thud!" by Terry Pratchett.
It's the "confrontation" between Sam Vimes, leader of the Ank-Morporck watch, and Chrysoprase, leader of the Breccia, some kind of Troll Mafia.

It's a very cool experience to paint from a description in a book, I think I should do it more often.

____
