If the pass was thrown for 98 yards and received in the end zone but no one saw it, would it be a touchdown? If you had a stadium with highly trained players, referees, equipment and played all 4 quarters, but no one was in the stands, would it be a real game? Although fans are not required by any sort of rule it is an unwritten understanding that the game, its players and its paradigm exist for one and only one person: the fan. Understanding football as a fan based sport, the National Football League has done a series of innovative decision-making to help attract more fans and sustain the game.

Rule changes

In 1974 when Monday night football became all the rage, one thing was certain – more fans than ever were watching football. After the initial craze started by Monday night games began to show lackluster ratings, the head office began to ask what was wrong. The games seemed slow to fans and sometimes unintelligible. Too many games were built on defense, running games and complicated plays on the field that netted a steady flow of small yardage, but no big plays. In order to combat the slow-moving side of football, The NFL rushing ushered in innovative rule changes which favored passing, limited timeouts and time between plays and sped up the game. This use of structure to influence speed kept fans watching TV and filling the seats.

Exhibition games

The NFL is one of the few sports franchises that has no Canadian or international teams. The reason for that is the Canadian Football League is already a productive entity of its own and requires no American counterpart in their country. However, the NFL is also one of the first franchises branching out into the global economy by playing exhibition games and other cities in the world. From 1986 foreword, exhibition games called the “American Bowls” have been played in London, Berlin, Tokyo and Barcelona. These games help gain an international reputation for football, while satellite television can broadcast American games all over the world. This endears football to an entirely new population of people.

International seasonal games

While the exhibition games have wrought the ability to enjoy American football around the world, one of the points people complain about is the games aren’t very hard fought. Professional football players are rarely willing to go the extra mile or put a lot of effort into an exhibition game. Who wants to lose a lucrative career simply because you pull a hamstring of pop your knee out of place for a game that doesn’t even count for the regular-season? In order to show football as it really is meant to be played, the NFL has sanctioned the first game for regular season play to occur internationally at London’s Wembley Stadium in 2007. The game has already sold out, and appears to be a bright prospect for future regular-season NFL games abroad.

The National Football League should be commended for its innovative ideas that help make the fan and their expectations the center of the game.

Simulated sky diving is an excellent way to try out this adventurous sport without actually having to jump out of an airplane. In simulated sky diving is a man-made setup, inside a building that’s created to be similar to the actual sky diving experience. Wind tunnels are constructed which create winds resembling those a sky diver would jump in realistically.

A building which houses a sky diving simulator is five or six stories high. It would need to be to provide enough height for a simulated sky diving jump. Before entering a simulator, individuals are instructed as to what will take place regarding the wind, their speed, all things related to sky diving. The importance of body positioning is explained as well. When the guidelines and instructions have been laid out and all questions are answered, it’s off to get geared up. Individuals wear jumpsuits and goggles, a helmet, shoulder pads and knee pads. However, they won’t need a parachute for simulated sky diving.

Once all dressed, it’s off to the simulator. The simulator’s walls will likely be made from glass. This is great since it allows people to watch others doing their simulated sky dive. This is good for people who are skeptical about the idea of simulated sky diving. It gives them a first-hand look at what it’s all about. Of course they can only see a person diving. They can’t actually feel what the experience is actually like. And with those 120 km/hr winds, it can sure seem realistic. These simulated sky diving adventures normally last about one minute and the individual is guided by a trainer.

Simulated sky diving is something that the entire family can take part in (minus toddlers of course). There are some restrictions regarding weight. If a person has health concerns, perhaps they should discuss using a sky diving simulator with their physician and also relate their health matters to those in charge of the simulated sky diving. It’s probably not a great place to find yourself if prone to panic attacks.

Where would someone find simulated sky diving? There are sky diving simulators in the US. To find out where they’re located and anything else you’d like to know, the Internet is a great resource. The Internet is world’s best yellow pages. Anything you want or need to know can be found on the worldwide web. There are many websites which deal with sky diving, both actual parachute ski diving as well as simulated sky diving. If this is something you’ve dreamt of doing or have been considering, why not take advantage of the simulated sky diving. The Internet provides many searching options including search engines such as Google and Yahoo. It also offers beneficial sites such as www.Ask.com and www.About.com where you can go to ask questions about subjects such as simulated sky diving. There’s no excuse for an inability to locate a sky diving simulator. The Internet is equipped to put you in touch, within minutes, of the ultimate sky diving experience.

The thought of skydiving alone can send some people into a manic state of fear, complete with cold sweats and hives. The thought of skydiving naked can worsen that state of fear, or for a very select few, send them grinning from ear to ear. Usually naked skydiving is reserved for those who have already made the jump before and are comfortable with diving again. It is also for those who have no problem bearing all to the world beneath them, although finding a place where such an adventure is legal can be a bit of a challenge.

Why would someone want to skydive naked in the first place? The reasons vary depending on the person. Some people choose to make the naked jump to commemorate an event such as a birthday or anniversary. Some people do it just because they want to and for no other good reason. Skydiving naked is similar to regular skydiving in many ways but there are a few slight differences to keep in mind before going where no man has gone before.

First of all, it is important to understand that naked skydiving physically feels much different than fully-clothed jumps. For example, think about how your face and cheeks really flap in the wind while you’re free-falling. Now think about other parts of your body doing that exact same thing – those particular parts are not used to be exposed to 130 mph winds. Second, do a safety check of all your equipment prior to jumping. It is possible your harness will fit quite differently naked as opposed to clothed. You need to make sure that your equipment is tight enough yet remains comfortable for you to maneuver while landing. Also, keep in mind that despite how warm the temperature may be outside, your jump is going to be extremely cold. This is why skydivers are usually clad in long sleeves, tights, helmets and goggles. It would be similar to diving into a pool of 40 degree water naked, even at the warmest time of year.

Most naked jumps are not permitted at any time of day. Typically in areas where this excursion is legal, time is limited on making a naked jump. Most facilities will require you to jump when there are no students on board, meaning either at the very beginning of the day on the first load or the very end on the last load. Also, you will probably not be permitted to load the aircraft naked. Most facilities will require you to wear a loose shirt and shorts or a fanny pack at minimum, all of which can easily be removed just prior to jumping. Another typical requirement is that you must be fully clothed when landing in the dropzone. To do this, keep your shirt stuffed in your fanny pack and quickly pull it out immediately after landing.

To find a facility that permits naked jumping, search the internet or contact a local skydiving facility. Be prepared to travel to your naked skydiving adventure, as several naked jump facilities are located internationally.

Parachute sky diving is a popular sport’s activity which is enjoyed by thousands of people worldwide. Being capable of viewing the beauty of nature from so high up must certainly be a tremendous experience. However, parachute sky diving is not as easy as one day deciding to jump from a plane. No, parachute sky diving requires plenty of planning. All equipment must be tested to ensure there aren’t any defects. At thousands of feet in the air, nobody wants to suddenly learn their parachute is damaged or defective. Every sky diver packs two parachutes, one main parachute intended for deployment and a second one as a back-up. Both parachute systems are carried on the sky diver’s back. Packing for parachute sky diving is extremely important and requires close attention.

Planning for parachute sky diving involves the jumpers and the pilot of the aircraft. The exit plans must be coordinated properly. Before actually getting into the aircraft, the sky divers practice their skills and techniques. They also make plans regarding the order for jumping as well as plans for a successful landing. When the sky divers are ready to enter the aircraft, they do so in reverse order. Once inside the aircraft the jumpers affix themselves to the aircraft either by straps connected to the floor or seat design specifically for jumping.

The parachutes have been properly packed, the plan has been made and the sky divers are stowed away in the aircraft, what’s next? The pilot begins his/her climb to get to the jumping point. In parachute sky diving, the jumping site is determined largely by the weather conditions. The pilot and sky divers with their plan all coordinated approach the jump site. In preparation the sky divers line up at the door of the aircraft. Sometimes in preparation for short parachute sky diving, the individuals hold hands which allow them to exit the aircraft together in hopes of remaining close together during the fall.

Once the aircraft reaches the jumping site, the door is opened and one by one the sky divers step out and begin free falling. In parachute sky diving, an average individual falls about 1050ft to 1480ft every five seconds, traveling at speeds of 190 to 240 km/hr. These sky divers are really moving. Sky divers also have the option of moving in a horizontal position. In this case they usually hit speeds up to 80 km/hr. While free falling in parachute sky diving, the individuals can position their bodies in various ways in order to carry out different maneuvers. Using body positioning allows a sky diver to control their speed.

When the sky divers reach around 3.900 ft, it’s time for the ski divers to think about deployment of their parachutes. At this point they set themselves up in a head-position and signal each other to deploy their parachutes. Following the appropriate steps the sky divers deploy their parachutes, forming a canopy. This process only takes from 2 to 5 seconds. This canopy then helps the people parachute sky diving to land. The canopy slows the parachute down which can be assisted by the sky diver using two toggles that are gripped above their heads. Experienced divers will land on their feet when parachute sky diving.

Mexican soccer was always known for producing quality players and it’s actually quite surprising that their best national team record is reaching the quarter-finals of a World Cup (on two occasions, 1970 and 1986, both of these World Cups being organized by Mexico). However, the Mexican national side has always been a constant presence in final tournaments and it’s regarded as a tough nut to crack, despite their lack of silverware.

Let’s take a short look at some of the players that made Mexico the strong soccer power that it is today.

-Famous Mexican Soccer Players – Antonio Carbajal

Nicknamed “El Cinco Copas”, or “Five Cups”, Antonio Carbajal was the first player to ever participate in 5 World Cups with his national team and has only been equaled in 1998, by German legend Lothar Matthaus. Carbajal played for Mexico in all the 5 World Cups that took place between 1950 and 1966.

-Famous Mexican Soccer Players – Hugo Sanchez

Hugo Sanchez was one of the first Mexico soccer players to play in Europe at the highest level. He was an iconic player for Real Madrid between 1985 and 1992; 7 years in which he scored no less than 253 goals in 283 matches, a goal/match ratio that can hardly be rivaled.

He also played for the Mexico national team on 60 occasions, scoring 29 goals and being an important player in the 1986 World Cup held by Mexico, in which his team managed to equal the quarter-final performance obtained initially in 1970. Hugo Sanchez is currently the manager and coach of the Mexican national squad.

-Famous Mexican Soccer Players – Jared Borgetti

Borgetti was of Italian and Mexican descent and as a striker, he combined the flair and power of Italian soccer with the passion and inventively of Mexican soccer. Although he is still an active soccer player at age 34, he spent most of his time playing in the Mexican league, with 7 years for Santos Laguna, a period of time in which he managed to score close to 200 goals in 300 matches.

But Borgetti’s goalscoring run doesn’t stop here, as he has also managed to come on top of the Mexican national side’s all time score sheet, with 43 goals in 87 matches. Currently, Borgetti is playing for Cruz Azul and although he decided to retire from the Mexican national side for the upcoming World Cup, he stated that he would love to play for his country one last time, during the CONCACAF Gold Cup tournament.

-Famous Mexican Soccer Players – Claudio Suarez

Unlike many other Mexican soccer players that get to celebrate New Years with a completely new club on their payroll, Claudio Suarez has only gone through 4 teams throughout his entire career: UNAM Pumas (1989-1996), Chivas de Guadalajara (1996-1999), UANL Tigres (1999-2005) and Chivas USA (2006). He made a strong impression for all of these clubs and many consider him one of the best Mexican defenders to have played for his country.

Although an extraordinary defender is currently contesting this title away from Claudio Suarez, namely Rafael Marquez of Barcelona, there’s one title that will hardly be touched by anyone for a long time: Claudio Suarez currently holds the record for international caps with the Mexican national team, with an amazing 178 appearances.

-Famous Mexican Soccer Players – Rafael Marquez

Rafael Marquez is probably the best-known Mexican soccer player of today, being one of the most important members of Spanish side FC Barcelona. Marquez’ ability to play as a central or right defender as well as a defensive midfielder earned him the aura of a “handyman”, being able to play wherever his coach would need him the most.

However, Marquez has recently steadied down as a central defender, playing on this position for the Mexican national side as well as for FC Barcelona in the last years. Age 28, Rafael Marquez is the captain of the Mexican national squad and is already being considered one of the best players in the country’s history, next to legendary names such as Hugo Sanchez or Claudio Suarez.

In terms of ownership and operation of a team most of the teams in the NHL are owned by private people and investors, but only one player so far has sole ownership of a NHL franchise and that’s Mario Lemieux who played 17 years (1984-2006) with the Pittsburgh Penguins and when the team was in jeopardy with bankruptcy he purchased the team in 1999. This was 7 years before his retirement from the team. He was called by most to be the next “Wayne Gretzky” because he was equally talented as Wayne Gretzky who basically started his playing career from the Edmonton Oilers to the Los Angeles Kings, St. Louis Blues and finishing out his career with the New York Rangers. Gretzky too also has ownership (partial) of the professional team the Phoenix Coyotes since his retirement in 1999.

There’s a lot to be said since athletes who turn around and invest in the teams they devoted years to a successful career with for so many years tend to bring back a bigger crowd because the status of being an owner is an even bigger place in the sport of hockey. After 17 seasons Lemieux had defiantly earned his place in the hockey world since he owns the Penguins and what person could be better fitted since he knows the team from the inside out and can appoint the right people to recruit talented players to the team.

Owning a team is a lot of work and can be expensive and risky if you don’t know what you’re doing to bring in the crowd needed to make a team successful. Many people don’t see the actual price tag it takes to operate and run an NHL franchise. You’re looking at between $50-75 million dollars to own and operate a team and that doesn’t include the cost of renting a facility where the games are played at since the numbers would be through the roof if you had to do the math on that one. Milwaukee doesn’t have a hockey team for the very reason explained it was a financial issue and having done a survey there was a huge lack of interest. The interest level would be much higher if they had someone like Wayne Gretzky or some well known NHL legend either co-owning or is the sole owner of a team then there would be a chance for Milwaukee to actually consider the idea because then the investors won’t feel like they’ll lose money on a project that isn’t really going anywhere if there’s no standing or interest in it.

Not to mention the main focus would be the financial projections for the next 5 to 10 seasons because the idea of having a franchise in the NHL is to make money and be a winning team. It’s when you see teams going into bankruptcy because usually that indicates low ticket sales over a course of years or in a single season to not packing them in and looking at attendance and other factors as well such as merchandise sales. It’s not a pretty sight when teams end up being bought or sold by people, but they seem to have a chance of surviving when the owner is a popular player because the name alone will draw in some serious revenue when people know that a former professional player is the owner of a team that does win.

Everyone knows that hockey can be a rough and sometimes brutal sport to be involved with. There are a lot of injuries that are common to hockey players that are either a part of the game or some can be threatening to one’s career. This is why so many hockey players are prone to a lot of injuries to the back, knees and arms and a plethora of other things as well. There are ten injuries that hockey players are prone to and they are:

Lower back problems
Head trauma
Neck strain
Tendonitis
Black eye
Broken teeth
Frostbite
Spinal cord injury
Broken bones

It’s these injuries that can resort to ending a player’s career which has happened a lot in the NHL a lot of players end up cutting their careers short because of injuries due to repeated injuries to the same place over and over again for a course of years. This can also keep a player in pain for years on end and can escalate to chronic which requires them to be in some kind of physical therapy and pain management. It’s not a pleasant thing for many athletes who have career ending injuries because they’re constantly in pain that can sometimes be unbearable which can make their lives hard to deal with. Many athletes are also becoming too reliant on medications to fix problems and that too has caused issues.

A lot of the common knee injuries are fixed with shots of cortisone which can cause erosion of the cartilage in the knees which can be serious and result in full or partial knee replacement when it gets to be to the point that tearing begins to set in. This is why a lot of physical and massage therapists can know right away what part of an athlete’s body will eventually wear out because of the frequent repetitive moving they do during a game or even the training they do in the off season.

The surgeries these athletes get are really the most painful things around they may fix the problem, but they can also cause pain to get worse over time to where it’s chronic and persistent and can be bothersome making it difficult to sleep and do normal daily activities in and outside of the home. Many athletes are usually not good at accepting retirement especially due to injuries that can end a career, but many of them will not listen to a doctor when he or she tells them to rest and follow the self care instructions laid out for them so they can get the recuperation in so they can be back on the ice in a shorter amount of time. There’s a reason doctors say this and that’s so the body can take the time to heal itself from an injury and can allow the body to recuperate naturally without so much pain medication.

A good hockey player depends upon a great skating technique to support his game.
Let’s look at the three main phases of the skating process in hockey, and bring up a few common mistakes that can be made in each phase. The first phase is the stride, or where the power comes from to glide forward. This action begins in the hip of the back leg, flows through the knee, and finishes in a full extension of the ankle. The leg and foot should be at about 45 degrees from the direction that you intend to skate, and the weight should be on the ball of the foot, and more to the inside edge of the blade.

When the leg is fully extended, you should be able to visualize a straight line from the foot, through the leg and hip, all the way up to the shoulders. Don’t do a lot of arm flailing, and keep only one hand on your stick if you do not have the puck.

Common problems with the stride phase are that your stride skate comes off the ice before the leg is fully extended. Skate slowly around the rink to check to make sure that the leg is fully extended before you begin to bring it forward, to make sure you get the full power and speed from each stride. Also check that your ankles are essentially straight, and not leaning strongly in or out. If so, you might want to find a different pair of hockey skates that provide the amount of ankle support that you require. Make sure that your weight is more to the inside edge of the blade, and don’t feel embarrassed about falling down when trying this. Do not point your toe straight down at the completion of the stride, for this upsets balance and decreases speed.

Once the stride phase is complete, the next phase is when you glide on the forward foot. Weight should be over the ball of the foot, and the leg bent nearly 90 degrees. The rest of your body should have shoulders over hips and eyes forward, not down. This phase takes strong muscles, and it takes time to develop it well. The big problem here is balance, where your leg should be directly under the center of your body, your weight should be centered on the blade and not on the inside edge, and your head is up and over your support leg.

The final phase is to get the back, or stride, leg underneath your body again. Slightly raise the hockey skate off the ice, and return the leg so that the skate points in the direction you want to go next. This gets you ready to use the other leg to begin the next stride phase. The biggest problem here is to avoid moving your body side to side, as that will disrupt your balance and slow you down. During the recovery phase, also make sure that the gliding skate stays flat and your weight does not move to the inside or outside edge of the hockey skate.

These pointers should help improve your hockey skating technique. There are a number of good books that include drills to practice individual parts of the skating technique, and drills to strengthen your muscles.

The description of the f50 adizero is perhaps based on its key results it has given to players. The boot has been praised of enhancing the speed of the players in the pitch. The players can keep and maintain high sprinting energies through out the game. This is because the boots have been designed to give a light weight which is import to the strikers and wingers. The synthetic version of this boot weighs 5.8oz while the leather type weighs 6.0oz. This boot was launched on 11th May 2010. This was a key feature of the Ever World Cup companionship to be staged in Africa.

The boot has features such as the sprint skin and sprint Frame. The sprint skin is a technology, which his reduces the synthetic materials to weigh minimal ounces. This enhances the ball control as well as keeping the speed of the players. The f50 adizero has also anti-microbial properties. This implies that it has protective properties, which fight the bacteria. This technology is applied from the Agion Anti-microbial technologies.

The boot has also the application of the TRAXION technology. This is a technology which enhances the shape of the boot to give optimum acceleration of the players on the Pitch. In a nutshell, since the inception of the f50 model back in 2004, the series has received great innovative improvements.
