Some great news!

Articleland is now ranked under 100,000 on Alexa. This is the first time we have broken the 100,000 barrier, and about time too, we have been hovering around the 105,000 for weeks.

This means that Article Land is ranked as one of the top 100,000 websites on the whole internet!!! Wow!

We would like to thank all our contributing authors and admins, for supplying us with excellent articles to publish.

We are pleased to announce that we are back under 24 hours for article approvals. In fact we are currently working at under 8 hours! We can only apologise for the failure in our service over recent weeks, this has been caused by a massive spam campaign originating in Asia, which we have now broken the back of.

Over the past week, we have deleted over 200 accounts that have been used to spam our database with article submissions.

We have set up a page naming and shaming the offending authors. If you are interested go here:

In fact this is continung to happen but we know what the signs are now, and are able to delete these accounts with one click of a button, thus saving us massive amounts of time, which we can dedicate to reviewing articles.

I know we haven’t been able to offer the service you have come to expect in recent weeks, but I can assure you that we will going forward. So please come along and post your articles again, we miss you!

We have just implemented live support on Article Land. When you go to Article Land, you will see a link in the left hand column, entitled “Articleland LIVE Support”. Clicking this link will take you to a page that contains a Windows Live Messenger chat box.

You will be able to see if we are online, if so, if you have any questions, queries, or even advice you’ll be able to discuss them with us, right there and then.

We have just added the Google Translation Tool to the Article Land website. This will allow our visitors that do not use English as their first language to translate the whole site at a click of a button.

It’s great and really quick. We’ve been using it to brush up on our French. Try it and see.

Like a headline, the title is what gets folks to decide to read your article or pass it by. People want articles with helpful tips or useful information they can use immediately. Your title must convey what you’re offering in your article.

“Reaching Your Goal” - kind of boring

“Making It” - too abstract, this could be a title for baking cakes or any number of things

“7 Proven Steps to Reaching Any Goal That You Can Implement Right Now!” - much better. Give the reader a reason to click on your article.

You can use personal anecdotes in your article. These add flavor and help hold your reader’s interest. People love a story!

Not posted for a while, been on my holidays. Had a great week up in North Wales.

Tought I’d drop a quick post about ME! All of you have probably had emails from me in the past, especially if you do not follow the submission guidelines on Article Land. So I thought I’d introduce myself.

My name is Steve Sharpe, I am the owner and Editor in Chief of Article Land. This is me:

I live with my family, in Cardiff, Wales, United Kingdom. I am 40 years old (not bad or my age, eh?) and make my living in the Telecoms Industry and on the Internet.

My hobbies include computers, the internet, football (or as you yanks call it Soccer), and motor racing. In my early 20’s I played Pool for Wales, beating the English on many occasions.

My favourite football team is Manchester United, I have supported them since I was a small child. What a great season in 07/08. Not only did we win the premiership but we won the European Cup too.

I think I operate a really good site in Article Land, I try to keep out the spam and only approve articles that add some street cred to the site.

I hope you all continue to supply us with articles, (as long as they are quality articles of course). We will publish them for you.

We have now introduced the ‘As Featured on Articleland’ button for you to paste into your website. This is a great way to direct visitors from your site to your articles on Article Land.

The process is pretty straightforward if you have access to your web site files. To get your button go to ‘As Featured on Article Land‘.

We have lost some data, approximately 5% of the data in the database has become corrupt. This was because the table used to record articles kept crashing. Most people will find that their articles are just fine but if you have been affected please accept our apologies and resubmit your articles.
