SEPTEMBER 2021

Moe, Victoria

A retail location required a supercharging station to accommodate the growing number of electric vehicles in the area. As a preferred installer of EV Superchargers, our project management team led the works, which were delivered on time and within budget.

The EV Supercharging Station project involved:

• Various types of civil work from resurfacing the carpark to landscaping
• Work with centre management to prepare site, project management and safety management plans to ensure our works didn’t affect the operation of the centre or the public
• Coordinate the installation of a pole mounted substation by supply authorities
• Supply and installation of main switchboard and V3 Cabinet (Tesla inverter)
• Test and commissioning of the supercharging station

FEBRUARY 2021 – JUNE 2021

Altona North, Victoria

Our long-term national customer was moving into a new logistics warehouse. They required wireless internet access across a large warehouse area for the picking and packing system to function correctly. The IT company designed a wireless access point system to make sure all the areas of the warehouse had a decent connection.

Platinum Electricians put together material pricing from several suppliers to ensure they had the best possible price for all materials on site. They were able to minimize the use of multiple EWP’s by communicating with contractors on site and sharing the four that were on site.

Scope of general works performed are as follows:

• Supplied and installed all cabling and accessories to have a fully functional wireless network through the warehouse
• Supplied and installed new data cabinets throughout the warehouse
• Supplied and installed fiber links between all data cabinets and the main server
• Successfully installed the new network under budget and in a minimal time frame

NOVEMBER – DECEMBER 2020

Liverpool City Council – Whitlam Centre

This project involved the upgrade of several distribution boards throughout the Centre that had been deemed a hazard by an electrical engineer.

The project also involved the replacement and upgrade of a main switchboard on site to accommodate a load increase. The main switchboard is now capable of 1600Amps to future-proof the Centre if they want to expand later. A major achievement during this project was replacing the 1500A main switchboard overnight during a single 10-hour shift.

FEBRUARY 2021

Jean Ross Anglicare Village

This project included the installation of a permanent 250KVA diesel generator, along with a new main switchboard with an in-built automatic transfer switch.

The works involved underground excavations, the installation of new cabling and the restoration of all surfaces affected whilst working on site. Platinum worked closely with an electrical engineer to design and install the new main switchboard which included ATS and surge protection.
 
Our team were responsible for the coordination and management to prepare and set up the construction site, which involved engaging with several local contractors for civil works including:

• Concrete cutting
• Excavations
• Concreting
• Removal of soil

PROJECT ACHEIVEMENTS

Our team were able to complete this project with a total outage time of only 1.5 hours to the center. This was a major achievement considering some of the centers’ residents require full time care.

Platinum Electricians supplied and installed an excess of 100 data outlets across multiple brand new Hungry Jacks stores across Traralgon.

The project was completed in a short time frame with all certified systems.

Castlerock

The Latrobe Valley GovHub is the first of three Government Hubs being built in Regional Victoria. Located in Morwell, the Latrobe Valley GovHub is a new, purpose-built facility that will accommodate up to 300 workers when complete in late 2020.

Platinum Electricians completed the Molex Certified Data Installation in the building as per below:

• Supply, installation and testing of 1200 x Molex Certified Data Outlets over 3 floors
• Supply and installation of Data Racks in 3 Comms Rooms
• Supply and installation of Fibre Back Bone across 3 floors
• Installation of a Private and Public WAP

Platinum Electricians completed a lighting upgrade in a retirement village in Sydney’s west. The upgrade was for multiple domestic dwelling’s external lighting to remove and replace the external lighting to meet sufficient Australian external lighting standards.

• Lux levels increased and P1 lighting standards have been achieved to engineering standards.  
• Project completed with minimal distribution to surrounding residence.
• Project completed within budget and on time

Cost Saving Initiatives

Maintenance costs of lighting will be reduced as per the installation of LED light fittings.   

Project Innovations

Installation of above ground concrete Plinth allow for a longer bollard light life and is a work practice that also allows for easy replacement with no ground disturbance required.

2019 – ONGOING

Australia Wide

Platinum Electricians performed a solar audit and clean of 74 systems Australia wide across Bupa homecare care sites. The team at Platinum were responsible for checking the general conditions of PV panels, PV array, isolators, and cabling, assessing the condition of the inverters and their status.  They created a complete service technician checklist to report findings and provide any quotation for works that need to be required.  Platinum performed onsite maintenance of solar systems and minor rectification works.

Project Achievements

• Project was completed across Bupa sites that are Australia wide, being project managed from Platinum Electricians head office in Sydney. 
• Detailed report was compiled from on-site audits to identify easy to find performance issues and rectify.
• Cleaning and maintenance checks completed to ensure Solar system is performing at its peak and rectification issues repaired. 

Project Innovations
