There’s so many choices these days, and honestly I don’t know what half of them mean. I’m browsing expertsatellite to look at the choices and deals offered there. My brother uses Netflicks (what is that?), but he is all tech-savvy, unlike myself. My sister has cable, but she has a husband and 2 kids, so they probably want a bunch of channels. My parents have direct tv, but I think maybe that is what they have to have for their neighborhood?

I don’t know. I’m still trying to figure all this out. For me, all that really matters is a good deal, and access to my favorite shows. I like the Daily Show, the Colbert Report, and (don’t judge) Nancy Grace. I don’t know if there is a package out there that just offers those shows and channels, but that is all I really need. I’m guessing I’m going to have to continue to pay for a whole bunch of channels, just to have access to those.

What to Expect from M&A Adviser

If you have a business and are looking into chemical mergers and acquisitions your first thought may likely be that you need to find a chemical investment bank that is best suited to handle all your investment needs as well as being well versed in all that has to do with chemical advisory.

Making such a huge investment is a major step for any company, big or small. You should always look for a merger and acquisition advisory that is well versed in all areas of the financial aspect of such an acquisition. There are many steps an adviser should take, on their own, without you having to ask.

Two of the most important areas are making sure you gain advice on proposed financing arrangements, and that the adviser will be working with the proposed finance provider. The institution you chose should also have significant oversight of the production of transaction documentation, as well as be in close co-operation with any of your legal advisers.

Employment Law

Whether you have a business or are simply an employee, knowing something about employment law in your area is always a good idea, just in case a situation ever occurs. Well, in a perfect scenario this would all be common knowledge, right? Who has time to educate themselves on things they do not deal with on a regular basis?

This is why there are specialty lawyers, lawyers who deal with only employment law can answer any questions you have regardless of your role in the situation at hand. The most difficult part might be finding an employment lawyer who is in your area or who at least knows the laws for your particular area. This is where Google comes in handy!

For example, say you work in Barrie, Ontario; and yes work in, not live in. You always need to know the laws for where your place of employment is located, or in some instances, where the corporate office is located. So, for Barrie, Ontario, simply type in Google search "employment lawyer barrie" (without the quotes) and the search results will pull up the specialty lawyers for that area.

Bing in Wedding Biz

This guest post from Werner Rogers

Being a wedding planneris so much fun most of the time and it’s nice when my friends get married and have someone to turn to who can really make it special. It’s me, of course, that’s who I’m talking about. I don’t exactly make a full living off of it but at the end of the day it’s great being able to help my friends and brides I don’t even know realize their dream for their wedding day.

I can’t believe I own my own business and have my own business cards and everything! I went to small business xo when I first started to get my home office technology all covered and I worked with an accountant to make sure I wasn’t missing anything.

It’s been great practice for me on all the business lessons I learned in college and teaching myself to time manage better has taken a while, but it’s been good for me. Many people find themselves in situations where they are accused of wrong doings and it can often be very difficult to prove otherwise. This is sometimes true in big cities where the crime rate is high.

For example, in California there is a california criminal lawyer available to everyone - no matter what the accused crime is regarding. Those who are part of the Kavinoky Law Firm are committed to defending people accused of crime in every California courthouse, in both state and federal court.

Of you happen to need a los angeles criminal defense lawyer this law firm comes highly recommended. Not only might you need a defense lawyer if you have been wrongly accused of something, but also if you need an expungement for a misdemeanor and/or a felony. Expungements for misdemeanors and felonies are subject to eligibility requirements. A defense lawyer can help if you have a criminal record.

Simply look for a criminal defense attorney in Los Angelesto find the right defense lawyer for you. Also, make sure you read reviews and do some research before hiring anyone. There are plenty of law firms that come highly recommended, such as the Kavinoky Law Firm.

Quality Nursing Scrubs

If you have ever worked in the medical field as a medical assistant or as a nurse, then you may already know that the attire choices have always been pretty limited in the past, even with the option of waring scrubs of your choosing, we still had to wear frumpy lab coats!

If you are new to this career and have recently landed a job in the medical field, no matter as a medical assistant or a veterinary tech, the choices available today when it comes to nursing scrubs, uniforms and lab coats is plentiful. If you have ever driven by a large area of farmland you may have noticed a silo - this is a rather all building used to store all types of items, such as ash, but mainly grains.

While having such storage is very useful in the agricultural industry, silo unloading can be a bit tricky, unless you have the proper equipment for the task. Depending on what you are unloading from the silo, it is wise to invest wisely as a corporate or as an individual, in order to reduce costs and improve your bottom line, as well as build rapport with the company you decide to have handle the silo unloading for your business.

Always make sure the company you choose has knowledgeable field service engineers located throughout the world, who pride themselves in giving exceptional service in erection, startup, operator training, unloading and maintenance of any piece of equipment.

You will want to make sure you are getting a company that will invest time into you and your business as well as have your best interest in mind.

My Husband's Day Off

Authored by Leandro Delgado

My husband had the day off this morning. I got up early, around six o’clock this morning and made breakfast and was drinking coffee. I went in the other room and was watching the news. He is usually a really early riser, but today he must have really tired because I kept peaking in the room and he was still asleep at eight o’clock, then I looked again and he was still asleep at nine o’clock.

Finally, I heard him calling my name. I went in the bedroom and he wanted be to get back in the bed and snuggle up. We turned on DirectStarTV and watched “Home Alone” that was on for the holidays. Two and half hours later at twelve we were still in the bed. We haven’t slept in that late or watched movies in the bed like that it forever! Sure, you could go with the same ole', same ole', but where's the fun in that?

Everybody at that shower will likely give the usual; diapers, burp rags and all in ones. You want to give something more, something memorable. Something that will make the new mother squeal with delight. It is not difficult, you just have to use your imagination a little bit and be willing to think “outside the box.”

Consider a rocking horse. It is an old-fashioned toy, but kids love to ride them. Of course, it will not be something that baby can use right away, but it will not be long before he or she can, and it will make for many hours of enjoyment.

Babies love to be swaddled and held close. Swaddle wraps and shoulder slings are great ideas for keeping baby happy and feeling safe. They come in many colors and designs, so choosing one should not be difficult. Mom will be thankful to have a swaddler or shoulder sling. They will allow her to do other things while baby is sleeping inside.

If you know the sex of the baby, it is much easier to buy something personal. If you know what the parents plan to name the baby, you are batting a thousand. You could give personalized baby gifts with the baby's name on it. New mothers love getting things with their baby's name on it.

Personalized baby gift baskets full of different things baby needs are a hit as well. Ask the new mom beforehand what colors she is decorating the nursery in and find a basket that will match as it makes a great nursery room accessory and she is sure to use it for years in the baby's room if it matches.

Do not forget about the new mother when considering buying shower gifts. There are many books on the market ranging in subject matter from taking care of baby to taking care of mom during the first years of her child's life. These books are very helpful and entertaining and will give her many ideas and advise to help her through the tough times as a new mother.

Siblings of the new baby will be excited as well for the upcoming birth. Being a big sister or brother is a big deal. Give them a gift of matching t-shirts that say “I'm the big sister” or “I'm the big brother” so he or she can be proud of the new addition.

It does not matter how much money you have to spend, it is the thought that counts. When you give a gift that you have put a great deal of thought into, it definitely shows. The new mom will be impressed by your thoughtfulness and be very thankful for your consideration. Do not be afraid to think “outside the box” when deciding on what to gift for a baby shower.

Bridal Tips for the Big Day

Every bride wants her wedding day to be perfect. It is one of the most stressful times for a woman, and many things must come together beforehand to make the day a success. To make it as stress-free as possible, follow the tips below and enjoy the day.

Make-up

Know what you are doing before the day arrives. This means deciding if you will do your own make-up or if you will seek wedding and spa services from an outside source. If you do hire someone to do your make-up, schedule an appointment before the wedding day to have your make-up done. This way, you will know what you are getting, and there will not be any unwelcome surprises. Usually, these services can be done either in-house or on site, depending on what kind of time line you have. Be prepared to pay more if the make-up artists come to you.

Pack an emergency kit complete with any and all make-up you think you might need for touch ups. Try to buy the highest quality cosmetics you can because they tend to last longer and hold up better under stress. When you buy your cosmetics, ask the sales clerk behind the counter for samples. These fit nicely in a small clutch or purse and will be more than enough for the day.

Eating

Because the day is usually so busy, many brides forget to eat. Keep a couple of energy bars on hand in your emergency kit to fend off light-headedness and fatigue throughout the day. Take time to eat something small to keep your energy up. Arrange to have something more substantial to eat after the reception. Most couples are starving by the time the evening is over.

After the Ceremony and Pictures

Once the ceremony and formal pictures are done, it will be time to get out of those high heels and into something a little more comfortable, especially if you are planning to dance at the reception. Try to find something that is practical but still looks nice with your dress. Many shoe manufacturers make shoes just for this reason, so look around for a pair that is just right for you.

Delegate

Whether you planned the whole event, or hired a planner, the wedding day is the bride's baby. Even so, this does not mean you have to be in charge all the time. Make up an itinerary beforehand and make copies. Pass them out to a couple trusted people and let them help you make sure everything runs smoothly. It is your big day and everyone wants it to go well. They will help you to make it one of the best days of your life.

Rhinebeck Fever by KO

An amazing KO true story, the characters are real.

"My first yoga class ever with “Alex” (a lady) is real, Blondies Cafe (was real, gone now) the whole Rhinebeck experience, for anyone who has ever been to Rhinebeck, NY is a beautiful experience; including all the sultry ladies who smile at everyone, the vibe, the natural beauty, the people, it's all a good reason to be upstate….........

Poet’s walk is a “real” place, and yes the mighty Hudson stretches out of view, as you walk through the beautiful paths to gain access to the majestic views that overlook the Hudson river, quiet, peaceful."

I think I’m gettin, “Rhinebeck Fever” feel my temperature go soaring through the sky, I got a touch of Rhinebeck fever, Got this feeling I could live here till I die….........

Have a listen, or better yet, purchase this tune here: 175 Cherry Lane by KO

How to Use Lime to Kill Parasites

Agricultural lime is effective in killing parasites because it creates an inhospitable breeding environment.

Parasites or eggs present will die when they come in contact with it. Agricultural lime should not be confused with hydrated lime--also known as burn lime--which is pure white in color and extremely caustic. Agricultural lime is gray in color and according to The Equine Science Center of Rutgers University, has no toxic properties.

With this in mind, it is safe to use in fields, grassy areas, on crops and barn and house floors.

The difficulty of this task is Easy.

You Will Need:
Agricultural lime

Step 1:
Purchase a bag of agricultural lime. This is available at farming supply stores and most home improvement stores.

Step 2:
Inspect the areas infested with parasites. Pay close attention to any place where flies, fleas, or worms are present; parasites may also be in this general area.

Step 3:
Sprinkle the lime on the affected areas; a light dusting will do. Let the lime remain on the areas for 24 hours, and then sweep it up. You may notice dead flies and other insects when sweeping up the lime.

Step 4:
Repeat this use of lime daily if you are trying to eradicate parasites in or around a barn area where there is livestock.

Tips & Warnings:

Agricultural lime is safe to breathe in and it is safe for use around animals.

Agricultural lime has antibacterial properties and works well to dry out barns, keeping odors to a minimum.

When shopping for lime, make sure you specifically ask for agricultural lime and not just lime, to ensure you purchase the proper product.

Whether it is a social event or a wedding, every detail needs to be planned, right down to the makeup you are going to wear. Weddings mean photographs, and in this day and age of digital photography, makeup should be flawless.

There are two choices when it comes to your makeup for those special occasions. Either you can apply the makeup yourself, or you can hire a makeup artist. Whichever route you plan to take, there are several things you should know to make the event picture perfect.

If you plan to apply the makeup yourself, keep in mind that less is more. While it is true that when being photographed, you should wear more makeup, you do not want to go overboard. Flash photography emphasizes pink tones, so try to choose a foundation that matches your skin tone, but has a slight yellow tone to it. This will counter-act the flash. Always use loose powder to seal your foundation and keep shiny skin at bay. You can touch up throughout the day with pressed powder as well. Do not go too heavy with blush. Add a touch of color to your skin with bronzers. If the neckline of your dress is low, you can even use the bronzer on your neck and chest for a little color.

Choose waterproof eyeliner and mascara because it will hold up best if you perspire or cry. Eye shadow will last longer if you apply it with a slightly damp brush. Do not go too heavy, but definitely apply more than you normally would so you do not look washed out in photos.

Even if you normally wear neutral or light lip colors or lip gloss, for the big day try using something a little more bold. Use a lip liner that matches the color of your lipstick to help keep your lipstick where it belongs. Many brands now have lip color that lasts all day without fading. This is a good option for any special occasion as you do not want to be running to the bathroom to re-apply lipstick every hour. You can eat and drink with many of these lip colors without the worry of fading as well.

If you plan to hire a makeup artist Newport RI, know what and who you are hiring. Do not ever hire anyone sight unseen, as you could be in for a big disappointment on the day of the event. The biggest thing to find out first is if they are licensed. Licensed makeup artists will have portfolios that you can browse through to see just how well their past clients photographed. Do not be shy. Ask questions. Find out how long their makeup will last, and under what conditions and lighting. As a bride, you will be seen in many different settings, and you need to know that you will look good in all of them.

Ask your potential makeup artist for a trial session. Some will charge for this service and some will not. A trial session makes sure there will be no surprises on the big day and gives you and the makeup artist an idea of what works best. Take a picture of yourself at the end of the trial session to use as a reference the day of the event. Remember, this day is all about you, and your makeup artist should be willing to do as you request.

Beware of salesmen who present themselves as makeup artists. They are only interested in selling their product and less interested in the way you look. If they seem pushy about selling you their product and less worried about how you will look in it, steer clear and find another makeup artist. If you do not, you will end up with a ton of products you have no idea how to use and end up spending a lot more than you had planned.

Choosing Personalized Baby Gifts for the New Arrival

Choosing the right gift for baby is a big event. Everyone wants to give a gift that oohs and ahhs and makes a statement.

Often times, these gifts end up being something that is passed down through the generations, so several family members get to enjoy their charms. It is not difficult to find the right gift. It just takes a little patience and knowledge of the recipient to give a gift that is sure to please.

Before beginning a shopping trip for baby, think about what you know about the parents, especially what you know about the mother. The mother is usually the primary caregiver and the one who makes the most decisions where baby is concerned. If she does not like it, chances are she is not going to use it. Try to buy something that appeals to her taste first. A good place to start is by asking her if she is registered anywhere. Most retail stores will have baby shower gift registries where moms-to-be can register their wish lists. If playing it safe is your game, purchase a gift from a store where the mother is registered.

Another safe gift for a new baby is to buy necessities. Babies need lots and lots of diapers, bottles, burp rags, pacifiers, etc. You can never go wrong with these types of things. You will not make a big statement with this type of gift, but it definitely will be appreciated because costs add up quickly when caring for a new baby. You can never have too many diapers or all in ones for the little bundle of joy.

If you are looking to impress, something a little more personal is in order. Personalized baby gifts are always a big hit. Whether you decide to put the baby's first name, last name or initials on the item, it really does not matter. All in ones with the baby's name or a cute saying are cute. Blankets adorned with the family's initials could become a treasured heirloom for years to come. Even personalized baby gift baskets full of several different items for the new arrival will please any mom-to-be.

Sometimes it is just too difficult to decide what to get, especially if the person you are buying for is meticulous. When this is the case, a good old fashioned gift card can make a shopping nightmare into a dream. No need to worry or fret whether the recipient is going to like the item or not. You do not need to keep any receipts. Just purchase a gift card, slip it into a greeting card and give. Many times, new parents are very happy with gift cards and gifts of money so they can go out and buy exactly what they need and like. Maybe they have a special theme for the baby's room and want only to decorate it with matching items. A gift card allows them the freedom to choose what they want. Giving a gift card is almost never the wrong choice when it comes to gift giving.

Getting in Shape

Guest post of the week by Deangelo Spencer

My goal in 2011 is to get in shape. I have gained almost 10 pounds between Memorial Day and the 4th of July. I?m lucky that I am 5 foot 7 inches. They say that tall people carry their weight well. I do not know how true that is but I am going online and find some channels with exercise videos that I can incorporate into my weight loss plan.

I have decided that I will not participate in any fad diets; I want to lose the weight the healthy way. I have been so tired and my energy level is at nonexistent. My nails are starting to break and I am seeing more split ends in my hair. I am not even 40 years old; I should not be feeling this way. I know that with the proper nutrition and supplementation I can start feeling like my old self in no time.

I began early this morning with a nice walk. It was not too hot and I intentionally walked up a hill to get my heart pumping faster. I went home feeling better.

How to Simply Wash Clothes That Have Been Exposed to Bed Bugs

Bed bugs are about the size of apple seeds, and they feed off dead skin and blood. Getting rid of bed bugs can take weeks and several attempts.

Fortunately, you can simply wash clothes that have been exposed to bed bugs. Cleaning your clothes will become the easiest process in your efforts to get rid of bed bugs.

The difficulty of this task is Moderately Easy.

You Will Need:
Washing machine
Laundry detergent
Dryer
Freezer

Step 1:
Place exposed clothes into your washing machine.

Step 2:
Set the washing machine to the longest hot-water cycle possible. This process will vary depending on the brand of washing machine you have.

Step 3:
Add in your amount of laundry detergent. You will not need specialized laundry soap to kill off bed bugs.

Step 4:
Run a full cycle as you normally would.

Step 5:
Transfer the wet clothes to a dryer, setting the dryer to the longest cycle possible. Run the full cycle to dry the clothes.

Step 6:
Keep the clothes away from your bedroom or areas infested with bed bugs until you are certain the bed bugs are gone from the area. This will avoid reintroducing your clothes to the bed bugs.

Author: Lisa Wampler
<a href="http://www.ehow.com/how_8286521_simply-clothes-exposed-bed-bugs.html"target="_blank">Article Source

BabyStuffGifts.com Web Site Featuring Personalized Baby Gift Baskets for Girl and Boy

<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_8qPlVFCYr8I/TSct-RZTqoI/AAAAAAAAAG8/6bveTTBSAic/s1600/Screen+shot+2011-01-07+at+10.14.50+AM.png" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; If for some reason you do not have the App World icon on your Storm, you can download it by going to mobile.blackberry.com on your Storm's Web browser.

Step 2:
Scroll to and select the icon with a magnifying glass on it. This loads the search bar. Enter "Atlas" in the App World's search bar to bring up all available programs that relate to atlas programs. If you know which program you want, you can enter that name into the search field. For example, three atlas programs are Big Tin Can Mapper, MokBee Maps and US Cities and National Parks Travel Guide.

Step 3:
Click on the application you want to download and then select to purchase the program. If the program is free, it will automatically start the download. If the program costs money, you will be directed to log in to your PayPal account. You must have a PayPal account, because your carrier will not bill you for the purchase. Enter your PayPal information and download the application to your Storm.

Step 4:
Locate the icon for your new atlas application in your list of programs and launch the program to turn your BlackBerry Storm into an atlas.

Author: Lisa Wampler
Article Source

How to Donate Law Books

There are a few ways you can get rid of law books that you no longer need. You can try to sell them on an auction website or to a used book store, but the huge loss that you'll take will probably make you a bit sick to your stomach.

An alternative to selling law books is donating them to a library or a charitable cause. You won't see any money from this but it will help others who are striving for a career in law.

The difficulty of this task is Moderately Easy.

You Will Need:
Paper
Pencil
Telephone access
Internet access

Step 1:
Construct a list of law books you wish to donate including the title, the writer, the publisher, the year the book was published and the average condition of the book. Libraries will appreciate this information so they can determine which books they wish to bring into their collection. Don't be surprised if they do not want all of your books. They may have several copies or they may have little interest in the category that your law books belong to.

Step 2:
Call your local library and advise them that you wish to donate your books. Discuss with them the information on your list and schedule a time to drop off the books that they are interested in.

Step 3:
Find an international cause to support. For example, Books For Africa states on their website that law schools in Africa have an inadequate supply of law books for their students to learn from. There are many national and international organizations that would be happy to accept any law books that your local library might not want. You can contact most charities via their website to locate shipping and drop off addresses.

Tips:
If you donate books to a charity, "not for profit" groups, or even business like the Goodwill you can request a tax deduction receipt to recoup some of the loss incurred by donating your books and not selling them.

Warnings:
Giving to charity is a great idea and it will help others learn but you should know the value of the books you are getting rid of. In some cases a value of a book can be quite high and selling the book may present a better option for you.

Author: Lisa Wampler
<a href="http://www.ehow.com/how_5974387_donate-law-books.html"target="_blank">Article Source

How to Transfer Data to a New AT&T Smart Chip

If you deactivated your old smart card (also called a SIM card) before you backed up your contact and text message data to your phone, you cannot place the old card back into the device and transfer the data.

Since the smart card is deactivated, the phone will not recognize it. Some newer models also use a belt drive but you can still get a Harley with an optional chain drive.

As a chain gets older, it stretches. Therefore, you must routinely adjust the chain on your Harley to keep it tight on the rear sprocket.

The difficulty of this task is Moderately Easy.

You will need:

Adjustable wrench

Hex head socket (optional)

Allen Wrench set (optional)

Step 1:
Loosen the axle nuts on both sides of the rear tire with an adjustable wrench. Do not remove the nuts from the axle.

Step 2:
Loosen the axle nuts on both sides of the rear tire with an adjustable wrench. Do not remove the nuts from the axle.

Step 3:
Turn the adjuster on the left side of the motorcycle one complete rotation then duplicate the process on the right side. Always make sure you turn each bolt equal distances to ensure the rear wheel stays straight.

Step 4:
Check the chain tension by pushing down on the top center of the chain. If you can push the chain downward more than a 1/2-inch, repeat step three until the chain has less than a 1/2-inch play in it.

Step 5:
Tighten each axle nut with the adjustable wrench.

Author: Zyon Silket
Article Source

Great Baby Gift Ideas

Personalized baby gifts have long been a traditional gift to commemorate the birth of a child. Monogrammed sterling rattles and keepsake china plates no longer have to be reserved for those born with a silver spoon.

Receiving Blanket
A personalized receiving blanket is a much-used and appreciated gift. Embroider a soft fleece blanket for an elegant touch. These blankets are available in various colors to coordinate with a baby's nursery or ensemble.

Personalized All in One
Many Websites and shops sell personalized onesies, one-piece baby body-suits with snaps beneath the crotch to allow for diaper changing. Preferred in 100% cotton, these body-suits can also include designs or artwork. Some of these onesies can be personalized with the baby's photo.

Engraved Baby Cup
An engraved pewter or silver-plated cup is a traditional keepsake gift. These decorative pieces can be as simple as the baby's name and a quote to a three-dimensional shadow-box with the details of baby's birth. Add photos of the mom when she was pregnant along with any sibling photos as well.

Keepsake Album
All new parents need a keepsake album to store special mementos and artifacts, such a copy of the birth announcement or clippings from baby's first haircut. Keepsake albums can feature baby's name engraved or printed on the cover.

Picture Frames
Give a fabric-covered picture frame with a special message embroidered inside. For a baby girl, choose a charming pink and brown polka-dotted frame. Pick a vibrant blue and lime green-striped frame for a baby boy. Embroider a sweet message, the baby's name and birth date, or a design on a piece of fabric and place it inside the frame.

Bibs and Burp Cloths
A personalized baby bib will make a creative and functional gift. Buy a plain blue or pink bib and customize it by sewing a strip of eyelet or grosgrain ribbon around the edge. Embroider a pattern, such as a flower or car, along with the baby's name on the bib.

Cross-Stitch Birth Announcement
There are hundreds of cross-stitch patterns available for both stamped and counted cross stitch birth announcements. You can use one essential oil at a time or mix them together. Just remember to never place undiluted essential oils directly on your dog's skin, as they can be quite irritating.

Dilute essential oils in water or a carrier oil, such as sweet almond oil.

Sweet Orange Oil
Use sweet orange oil on your dog's collar to keep fleas at bay. Mix one drop of sweet orange essential oil for every nine drops of carrier oil, and dab 1 to 2 drops of the mixture on your dog's collar or on your dog, preferably between the shoulder blades.

Lavender Oil
Lavender oil is nontoxic and is safe to use on your dog. In a dark-colored, pint-sized spray bottle, mix 10 to 20 drops of lavender essential oil and water. It is safe to mist your dog and even yourself with this solution. Keep the spray bottle handy so you can spray your dog before you take it out for a walk or meet with other dogs in your neighborhood or at the dog park.

Peppermint Oil
If you want to keep fleas from invading your house, put 1 to 2 drops of peppermint essential oil on cotton balls and place the cotton balls in inconspicuous places, such as behind furniture and inside closets. Not only will you keep fleas away, your house will smell wonderful too.

Mixed-Oils Flea Spray
Mix two drops of pure lavender essential oil and two drops of pure cedar wood essential oil with 600 ml of warm water in a dark-colored spray bottle and spray it on your dog, preferably after it has had a bath. Give your dog a quick spray before you take it outside.

Author: Lisa Wampler
Article Source

Anniversary Party Menu Ideas

Your wedding anniversary is a major relationship milestone.

Whether you are planning a party to celebrate with friends and family or have a quiet romantic evening for two on the agenda, the meal is an excellent way to have foods that bring back memories and showcase your style as a couple.

Nostalgia Meal
Bring back nostalgia with menu items that you both as a couple have enjoyed together over the years. Think back to a memorable meal you had early on as a couple. Chose menu items you enjoy cooking as a couple and share those favorites with your party guests. If you have a favorite restaurant that you like to eat at often, call the restaurant to see if it offers catering. If so, hire the chef to cater the anniversary party so you can have all your favorite foods on the menu.

Showcase Your Heritage
Plan a menu that encompasses your heritage. If you both have the same background, go with menu items you enjoy the most. For example, if you both have a German background, plan the menu to include pork, varieties of bread, fried potato pancakes and fried potatoes with onion and bacon. If you have mixed backgrounds, create dishes you and your partner love by incorporating both food styles. If you created new dishes over your years together as a couple, include those items on the menu as well.

Wedding Memories
Re-create your wedding reception meal. Think back to your wedding day and the menu items served at your reception. Plan your anniversary party menu around those foods. If you are having a tough time remembering, get out your wedding photos and look back at that special day. Ask friends or family members what they remember from your special day. If you had your reception catered, call the catering company and request that it cater your anniversary party. Some companies keep excellent records, and, depending on how long it is since your wedding day, the company may even have your menu items on file.

Author: Lisa Wampler
Article Source

How to Get Rid of a Smoke Smell in a House After a Fire

Even a small fire can produce enough smoke that makes it difficult to rid your home of the lingering smoke smell.

However, once the fire is out and you begin cleanup, there are several ways to get rid of a smoke smell in a house after a fire.

Remember that smoke odor can stay locked into clothes, draperies and even furniture so you will need to give all of these things attention to fully get rid of the smoke smell.

The difficulty of this task is Moderately Easy.

You will need:

         Carpet cleaner

         Charcoal sticks

         Vinegar

Instructions:

Step 1:
Ventilate the house by opening doors and windows. Use fans to assist in circulating the fresh air.

Step 2:
Wash any items such as clothing, draperies, furniture covers and blankets. If you have an outdoor wash line, hang these items up outside to air dry.

Step 3:
Use a carpet cleaner to deep clean your carpets. Carpet cleaners, such as a wet/dry vacuum, extract odor from deep within the carpet fibers.

Step 4:
Clean the area where the fire began. If the fire was small, you can do this yourself. If the area is too big for you to handle, the fire department can recommend a company to assist in clean up.

Step 5:
Place charcoal sticks or bowls of vinegar in inconspicuous places throughout your house. Both charcoal and vinegar absorb odor. This will neutralize the smell rather than cover it up.

Tips:

Avoid using household deodorizing products to get rid of the smoke smell, as these products will only temporary mask the smell. In some cases, these products poorly interact with the smoke and create a new unpleasant odor.

Some clothing may require a cleaning by a dry cleaner.

Author: Lisa Wampler
Article Source
