I’m searching for the best deal for TV. There’s so many choices these days, and honestly I don’t know what half of them mean. I’m browsing expertsatellite to look at the choices and deals offered there. My brother uses Netflicks (what is that?), but he is all tech-savvy, unlike myself. My sister has cable, but she has a husband and 2 kids, so they probably want a bunch of channels. My parents have direct tv, but I think maybe that is what they have to have for their neighborhood?

I don’t know. I’m still trying to figure all this out. For me, all that really matters is a good deal, and access to my favorite shows. I like the Daily Show, the Colbert Report, and (don’t judge) Nancy Grace. I don’t know if there is a package out there that just offers those shows and channels, but that is all I really need. I’m guessing I’m going to have to continue to pay for a whole bunch of channels, just to have access to those.

Being a wedding planneris so much fun most of the time and it’s nice when my friends get married and have someone to turn to who can really make it special. It’s me, of course, that’s who I’m talking about. I don’t exactly make a full living off of it but at the end of the day it’s great being able to help my friends and brides I don’t even know realize their dream for their wedding day.

I can’t believe I own my own business and have my own business cards and everything! I went to small business xo when I first started to get my home office technology all covered and I worked with an accountant to make sure I wasn’t missing anything.

It’s been great practice for me on all the business lessons I learned in college and teaching myself to time manage better has taken a while, but it’s been good for me. I hope one day this will pay my bills but I’m getting there, slowly but surely!

My Husband's Day Off

My husband had the day off this morning. I got up early, around six o’clock this morning and made breakfast and was drinking coffee. I went in the other room and was watching the news. He is usually a really early riser, but today he must have really tired because I kept peaking in the room and he was still asleep at eight o’clock, then I looked again and he was still asleep at nine o’clock.

Finally, I heard him calling my name. I went in the bedroom and he wanted be to get back in the bed and snuggle up. We turned on DirectStarTV and watched “Home Alone” that was on for the holidays. Two and half hours later at twelve we were still in the bed. We haven’t slept in that late or watched movies in the bed like that it forever! Usually I would be anxious and feel like I was loosing a lot of my day, but this morning it was just really nice and relaxing. I wouldn’t mind doing this more often on his day off!

How to Use Lime to Kill Parasites

Agricultural lime is effective in killing parasites because it creates an inhospitable breeding environment.

Parasites or eggs present will die when they come in contact with it. Agricultural lime should not be confused with hydrated lime--also known as burn lime--which is pure white in color and extremely caustic. Agricultural lime is gray in color and according to The Equine Science Center of Rutgers University, has no toxic properties.

With this in mind, it is safe to use in fields, grassy areas, on crops and barn and house floors.

The difficulty of this task is Easy.

You Will Need:
Agricultural lime

Step 1:
Purchase a bag of agricultural lime. This is available at farming supply stores and most home improvement stores.

Step 2:
Inspect the areas infested with parasites. Pay close attention to any place where flies, fleas, or worms are present; parasites may also be in this general area.

Step 3:
Sprinkle the lime on the affected areas; a light dusting will do. Let the lime remain on the areas for 24 hours, and then sweep it up. You may notice dead flies and other insects when sweeping up the lime.

Step 4:
Repeat this use of lime daily if you are trying to eradicate parasites in or around a barn area where there is livestock.

Tips & Warnings:

Agricultural lime is safe to breathe in and it is safe for use around animals.
Agricultural lime has antibacterial properties and works well to dry out barns, keeping odors to a minimum.
When shopping for lime, make sure you specifically ask for agricultural lime and not just lime, to ensure you purchase the proper product.

My goal in 2011 is to get in shape. I have gained almost 10 pounds between Memorial Day and the 4th of July. I?m lucky that I am 5 foot 7 inches. They say that tall people carry their weight well. I do not know how true that is but I am going online and find some channels with exercise videos that I can incorporate into my weight loss plan.

I have decided that I will not participate in any fad diets; I want to lose the weight the healthy way. I have been so tired and my energy level is at nonexistent. My nails are starting to break and I am seeing more split ends in my hair. I am not even 40 years old; I should not be feeling this way. I know that with the proper nutrition and supplementation I can start feeling like my old self in no time.

I began early this morning with a nice walk. It was not too hot and I intentionally walked up a hill to get my heart pumping faster. I went home feeling better.

How to Simply Wash Clothes That Have Been Exposed to Bed Bugs

Add in your amount of laundry detergent. You will not need specialized laundry soap to kill off bed bugs.

Step 4:
Run a full cycle as you normally would.

Step 5:
Transfer the wet clothes to a dryer, setting the dryer to the longest cycle possible. Run the full cycle to dry the clothes.

Step 6:
Keep the clothes away from your bedroom or areas infested with bed bugs until you are certain the bed bugs are gone from the area. This will avoid reintroducing your clothes to the bed bugs.

How to Convert a BlackBerry Storm to an Atlas

Just about every PDA has turn-by-turn GPS built in, or at least available as a download.

If you do not trust those turn-by-turn directions because you had a bad experience or you want to rely on your own sense of direction, you can install an application that will convert your BlackBerry Storm to an atlas.

An atlas allows you to see the area you travel in just as you would if you had a paper atlas in front of you.

The difficulty of this task is Moderately Easy.

You Will Need:
PayPal account

Step 1:
Scroll to and select the "App World" icon pre-loaded on your BlackBerry Storm to access the application download marketplace for BlackBerry. If for some reason you do not have the App World icon on your Storm, you can download it by going to mobile.blackberry.com on your Storm's Web browser.

Step 2:
Scroll to and select the icon with a magnifying glass on it. This loads the search bar. Enter "Atlas" in the App World's search bar to bring up all available programs that relate to atlas programs. If you know which program you want, you can enter that name into the search field. For example, three atlas programs are Big Tin Can Mapper, MokBee Maps and US Cities and National Parks Travel Guide.

Step 3:
Click on the application you want to download and then select to purchase the program. If the program is free, it will automatically start the download. If the program costs money, you will be directed to log in to your PayPal account. You must have a PayPal account, because your carrier will not bill you for the purchase. Enter your PayPal information and download the application to your Storm.

Step 4:
Locate the icon for your new atlas application in your list of programs and launch the program to turn your BlackBerry Storm into an atlas.

How to Donate Law Books

There are a few ways you can get rid of law books that you no longer need. You can try to sell them on an auction website or to a used book store, but the huge loss that you'll take will probably make you a bit sick to your stomach.

An alternative to selling law books is donating them to a library or a charitable cause. You won't see any money from this but it will help others who are striving for a career in law.

You Will Need:
Paper
Pencil
Telephone access
Internet access

Step 1:
Construct a list of law books you wish to donate including the title, the writer, the publisher, the year the book was published and the average condition of the book. Libraries will appreciate this information so they can determine which books they wish to bring into their collection. Don't be surprised if they do not want all of your books. They may have several copies or they may have little interest in the category that your law books belong to.

Step 2:
Call your local library and advise them that you wish to donate your books. Discuss with them the information on your list and schedule a time to drop off the books that they are interested in.

Step 3:
Find an international cause to support. For example, Books For Africa states on their website that law schools in Africa have an inadequate supply of law books for their students to learn from. There are many national and international organizations that would be happy to accept any law books that your local library might not want. You can contact most charities via their website to locate shipping and drop off addresses.

Tips:
If you donate books to a charity, "not for profit" groups, or even business like the Goodwill you can request a tax deduction receipt to recoup some of the loss incurred by donating your books and not selling them.

Warnings:
Giving to charity is a great idea and it will help others learn but you should know the value of the books you are getting rid of. In some cases a value of a book can be quite high and selling the book may present a better option for you.

If you deactivated your old smart card (also called a SIM card) before you backed up your contact and text message data to your phone, you cannot place the old card back into the device and transfer the data.

Since the smart card is deactivated, the phone will not recognize it. The only method you have for recovering the data stored on the new card is to use a smart card reader so you can transfer your data to your new AT&T smart card.

The difficulty of this task is Moderately Easy.

You will need:

USB SIM card reader
Computer with USB connection

Step 1:
Plug your old smart card into the smart card reader and then plug the USB connector into a USB port on your computer.

Step 2:
Select to transfer the data from your old smart card to the computer when the Transfer Wizard appears on your screen.

Step 3:
Unplug the USB connector from your computer and pull the old smart card out of the smart card reader.

Step 4:
Place the new AT&T smart card into the smart card reader and plug the reader into your computer.

Step 5:
Select to transfer the data from your old smart card to the new AT&T smart card when prompted by the pop-up wizard on your screen.

Step 6:
Unplug the USB connector from your computer and pull the new AT&T smart card out of the card reader

How to Adjust the Chain on a Harley Motorcycle

Older Harley-Davidson motorcycles (1990 and older) use a chain for the final drive. Some newer models also use a belt drive but you can still get a Harley with an optional chain drive.

As a chain gets older, it stretches. Therefore, you must routinely adjust the chain on your Harley to keep it tight on the rear sprocket.

The difficulty of this task is Moderately Easy.

You will need:

Adjustable wrench
Hex head socket (optional)
Allen Wrench set (optional)

Step 1:
Loosen the axle nuts on both sides of the rear tire with an adjustable wrench. Do not remove the nuts from the axle.

Step 2:
Loosen the axle nuts on both sides of the rear tire with an adjustable wrench. Do not remove the nuts from the axle.

Step 3:
Turn the adjuster on the left side of the motorcycle one complete rotation then duplicate the process on the right side. Always make sure you turn each bolt equal distances to ensure the rear wheel stays straight.

Step 4:
Check the chain tension by pushing down on the top center of the chain. If you can push the chain downward more than a 1/2-inch, repeat step three until the chain has less than a 1/2-inch play in it.

Step 5:
Tighten each axle nut with the adjustable wrench.

Essential Oils for Dog Fleas

Getting rid of dog fleas and keeping them at bay does not have to involve chemical products.

Many essential oils repel fleas, keeping them off your dog and out of your home. You can use one essential oil at a time or mix them together. Just remember to never place undiluted essential oils directly on your dog's skin, as they can be quite irritating.

Dilute essential oils in water or a carrier oil, such as sweet almond oil.

Sweet Orange Oil
Use sweet orange oil on your dog's collar to keep fleas at bay. Mix one drop of sweet orange essential oil for every nine drops of carrier oil, and dab 1 to 2 drops of the mixture on your dog's collar or on your dog, preferably between the shoulder blades.

Lavender Oil
Lavender oil is nontoxic and is safe to use on your dog. In a dark-colored, pint-sized spray bottle, mix 10 to 20 drops of lavender essential oil and water. It is safe to mist your dog and even yourself with this solution. Keep the spray bottle handy so you can spray your dog before you take it out for a walk or meet with other dogs in your neighborhood or at the dog park.

Peppermint Oil
If you want to keep fleas from invading your house, put 1 to 2 drops of peppermint essential oil on cotton balls and place the cotton balls in inconspicuous places, such as behind furniture and inside closets. Not only will you keep fleas away, your house will smell wonderful too.

Mixed-Oils Flea Spray
Mix two drops of pure lavender essential oil and two drops of pure cedar wood essential oil with 600 ml of warm water in a dark-colored spray bottle and spray it on your dog, preferably after it has had a bath. Give your dog a quick spray before you take it outside.

How to Get Rid of a Smoke Smell in a House After a Fire

Even a small fire can produce enough smoke that makes it difficult to rid your home of the lingering smoke smell.

However, once the fire is out and you begin cleanup, there are several ways to get rid of a smoke smell in a house after a fire.

Remember that smoke odor can stay locked into clothes, draperies and even furniture so you will need to give all of these things attention to fully get rid of the smoke smell.

The difficulty of this task is Moderately Easy.

You will need:

Carpet cleaner
Charcoal sticks
Vinegar

Instructions:

Step 1:
Ventilate the house by opening doors and windows. Use fans to assist in circulating the fresh air.

Step 2:
Wash any items such as clothing, draperies, furniture covers and blankets. If you have an outdoor wash line, hang these items up outside to air dry.

Step 3:
Use a carpet cleaner to deep clean your carpets. Carpet cleaners, such as a wet/dry vacuum, extract odor from deep within the carpet fibers.

Step 4:
Clean the area where the fire began. If the fire was small, you can do this yourself. If the area is too big for you to handle, the fire department can recommend a company to assist in clean up.

Step 5:
Place charcoal sticks or bowls of vinegar in inconspicuous places throughout your house. Both charcoal and vinegar absorb odor. This will neutralize the smell rather than cover it up.

Tips:

Avoid using household deodorizing products to get rid of the smoke smell, as these products will only temporary mask the smell. In some cases, these products poorly interact with the smoke and create a new unpleasant odor.
Some clothing may require a cleaning by a dry cleaner.
