GIFT OF THETIS - CULTURED CORAL AND FRESHWATER PEARL NECKLACE

The set is actually composed of two necklaces. Of course, it is best worn together but can also be worn separately.

The first necklace is composed of genuine Philippine freshwater cultured pearls separated by small diamond-shaped Austrian crystals. The second necklace is composed of red-dyed bamboo coral bead branches and disc-shaped beads. The metal findings are rhodium-plated except for the locks which are made of stainless steel.

Corals and pearls just like amber are what you call “organic” gemstones. They are either produced or fossilized remains of living organisms. The red-dyed bamboo coral beads are sourced out from a local jewelry components and beads retailer here in the Philippines that gets their supply from China. These are not the precious red corals that are protected by law. This kind of coral is usually from a coral aquaculture (coral garden or coral farm) that is maintained for commercial purposes.

"Tear of Joy" - Tourmaline Necklace

A faceted tear drop-shaped black tourmaline bead is mounted by a single strand necklace. The necklace is composed of multicolored tourmaline chips. Two fluted metal beads accentuate the black tourmaline pendant.

Tourmaline-Ammonite Necklace

This very simple but beautiful necklace is composed of intensely-colored Tourmaline chips. Tourmaline, a well-loved semiprecious gemstone occurs in almost all colors of the spectrum as can be seen here in the necklace. Rice glass beads were used as spacers for the Tourmaline chips.

The necklace mounts a whole piece of Ammonite. An ammonite is an organic gemstone just like pearls, amber and jet. It is the fossilized remains of an ancient mollusk similar to that of the chambered nautilus. When we say "fossilized", it means that the specimen is about no less than a thousand years old. It is fortunate that there are a lot of deposits of these fossils around the world significantly I think in Canada, Australia, and the US. This pendant is actually very small compared to the size of the large specimens with diameters that go over 12 inches. Most ammonite pendants are cut in half lengthwise. This is to show the inside chambers of the mollusk. This ammonite pendant however, apparently, is a whole piece which some collectors prefer.

2-in-1 Mystic Knot Necklace

This glam necklace is a combination of 2 necklaces. One is composed of a series of mystic knots connected with red-dyed bamboo coral beads and citrine chips. Yellow multifaceted German crystal beads are employed as charms attached to the mystic knots and hanging from the necklace. The accent is the sparkling gorgeous multifaceted star-shaped Austrian crystal bead. The other necklace is composed of red-dyed bamboo coral chips, Tiger's eye beads, and freshwater cultured pearls. The color and style of the second necklace harmonizes perfectly with the first one. The 2 necklaces form a single piece that's both stunning and oh-so-glam.
