Study of ear for a future drawing.

Like Whistler’s Mother and many other artist’s subjects, our family members make for readily available subject matter. My mom was probably sitting around near me so I made a study of her face.

Pencil and ink drawing using selective focus to bring interest to the face. I played with using shading and linear line work in the same work.

This landscape in Monochrome is a black paint wash drawing. No white paint used only the white of the paper used for the lights. The drawing is called Holy Wind because of the movement of the trees. It is a unseen movement that comes from the wind and not from man, but God.

Another idea for a shaped canvas painting. These painting will most likely move from the sketchbook to the canvas. It is amazing how many ideas never get executed. This is a state that I do not want to remain in. I will post the painting when I start to make it happen. One thing about sharing your ideas, it will force us to make the work.

The work is in-titled “Chilling” etching of a person chilling on the phone.

“The Family Idol” started in my sketchbook then I made this etching of the drawing. There is a big change of the presents of a TV taking family time to what we have now. The Home Entertainment System; this monster has completely taking over the family’s attention. It is now center stage, sports, games, home improvement shows, and stay at home church. All to make life easier, as we growth lazier and Lazier.

This was drawn while someone was sleeping under there coat. I had time to make a quick drawing of the person.
