I call him Franklin Fantail, the Duke of Camden Green (the name of the farm). I think he deserves a aristocratic title because of his scroll like tail.

After learning how to control the cherry picker I had a lovely day up in the sun painting this water tank... the farm has a many fantails fluttering about, so this painting is based on them.

Tony Robinson's Time Walks is doing an episode about the history of Christchurch including the earthquake and rebuild situation, the producers of the show came across me working on 'Giraffing Around' mural. Today we filmed a quick clip for the episode which broadcasts on the History Channel on the Foxtel Network in Australia and Sky in NZ this year.

My latest street art project in Christchurch, New Zealand is finished - Giraffing Around!

Go see the finished product - 10 Liverpool Street, beside Les Mills Gym.

This mural is called ‘Giraffing Around’, she basically represents protection and is looking forwards to the future with determination. The smaller giraffes that are climbing up the neck show this perseverance. I made her this big, like Christchurch at the moment; a big city in a vulnerable state. She is floating around and unsure what is happening but look at her I think she is happy and the bubbles that are coming out of her stand for ideas.

I believe at the moment Christchurch really needs some colour, the city is so grey and there are so many blank wall canvasses. We have the potential to evolve into a unique, vibrant and creative city and feel that the unusual projects that have spurred from such devastation are important for Christchurch to grow from, not just as temporary spaces but as part of the new city. I hope by doing this piece I can help the community to re-connect with the central city again making a new environment that is unique to Christchurch’s identity.

Four weeks and counting on my latest mural!

This wall is the biggest canvas I have ever painted, underestimating how long it would take me, its now been three weeks and the giraffe is starting to emerge!

After 4 and a half days of hard work 'The Hope Bear' mural is finally finished!!

‘Putting up some bear cheer’….. the press put it this morning. We finished the ‘The Hope Bear’ mural today on the cnr of Riccarton Rd and Rotherham St, I really want to help brighten up the city and inspire other people in Christchurch to make their mark!! The mural should stay until the end of January.
