A couple of weeks ago, I posted the preview video of Kat De Luna’s new single “Run the Show”, from her extended 9 Lives album. In it Don Omar commented on the Dominican’s career and Kat De Luna gave us an insight into her new single. Her extended 9 Lives album is set for a spring release and features both English and Spanish language versions of “Run the Show”.

Ever since Angel & Khriz were introduced in the CD MVP by Hector “El Father” with the song “Casando Voy”, the duo has been in the forefront of reggaeton’s rise to popularity. Their debut album, Los MVP’s, featured their best known song “Ven Báilalo”. The track was chosen by Rockstar Games to appear on GTA IV’s trailer Manny Escuela.

In 2005, the duo produced another chart topping hit, “De Lao A Lao”, a bachata and merengue reggaeton fusion that has helped evolve the genero into new heights. Their most recent hit “Carita de Angel”, featured on the Echo Presenta: Invasion, reach number 4 in the hot billboard of Latin Songs.

Now, the Puerto Rican reggaeton duo have released their second studio album, Showtime. The 16 track album features collaboration with Zion, Montana, Mora, Gocho, and Jon Eric. The video of their first single, “La Vecina”, was released last week.

It has been almost a year since Aventura released a new video, but you can’t say the “Kings of Bachata” were being lazy. After this past summers world-wide K.O.B tour, the fellas finally found some time - or should I say recorded enough footage - to produce their third video from one of their original tracks on the K.O.B.:Live album. Though the bronx boys do not appear in any studio or on location footage, “El Perdedor” does feature them in scenes from their highly successful concert tour.

Kat De Luna has finished recording the video of “Run The Show” with Busta Rhymes and Don Omar. The Bronx born Dominicana is set to release an extended version of her debut album 9 Lives this spring. The single will feature hip-hop heavy-weight Busta Rhymes and the spanish language remix will feature non-other than reggaeton superstar Don Omar.

On the mini-telenovela, La Pasion De La Decision, we have learned why its important to register to vote when you turn 18. Failing to register to vote can lead to the cheesy-humorous series of events that have happened to Carmen and Rodrigo.

I know you heard this before but this is one of the most important elections of our time. This time every state counts.

Voto Latino wants the Latino community – especially young Latinos – to vote. And the organization represented by celebrities has aligned itself with the Declare Yourself campaign to create telenovela-style publicity announcements emphasizing the power of the Latino vote in the United States.

Actress Rosario Dawson, one of Voto Latino’s founders, Wilmer Valderrama, most notable known as Fez in the hit TV show That 70’s Show, Tony Plana from Ugly Betty and Craig’s List founder Craig Newmarkwant star in a series of telenovela-inspired spots intended to inspire Latino youth to the polls. In the first episode of La Pasion de la Decision, entitled “La Pasion de la Pregunta”, Dawson’s character, Carmen, is engaged to Valderrama’s character, Rodrigo, and declares that “there is nothing that you can tell me that will change the way that I feel about Rodrigo.”

In the mid-to-late 90s, thousands of Cuban refugees attempted to cross the Florida Straits by whatever means available - small boats, homemade rafts and inner tubes. Only one in four rafters made it to U.S. shores, with tens of thousands perishing at sea. A volunteer group based in Miami called “Brothers to the Rescue” was formed to patrol the Straits in small civilian aircraft, offering aid to rafters. On February 24th, 1996, in the midst of heightening political unrest in Cuba and in the wake of a revised U.S. policy toward Cuban refugees, the Cuban government authorized two military fighter jets to attack and destroy two of the volunteer planes.

Winning best actor awards is nothing new for Javier Bardem.
