The Indie Entertainment Summit (IES) is happening August 6-9, 2014 in Los Angeles, California. Don't miss Artisthead's broadcast of the New Music Business Journal, with its hosts Ravi and Robe, live from IES on August 7th at 6pm PST. The New Music Business Journal is an Artisthead original program that addresses the concerns of the growing population of Artist-Entrepreneurs doing business in the global economy.

The Indie Entertainment Summit will feature four full days of workshops and panels featuring more than 100 leading industry speakers. There will be over 100 bands and DJ's providing live music and showcases, headquartered in Hollywood, with venues in both Hollywood and Universal Studios. The New Music Business Journal Radio Show Returns To Los Angeles For Live Taping

By popular demand, the New Music Business Journal returns to the Off The Wall Music Lounge in Santa Monica. Hosts, Ravi and Robe will be joined by a panel of entertainment and tech industry speakers for a live recording of the show on Monday, January 27th at 7.00 PM. Tickets are $6 at the door. Entrance is free with the donation of a canned food. Donated food will go to OPCC, (the Ocean Park Community Center).

The New Music Business Journal, an original program on Artisthead Radio addresses the concerns of the growing population of music and film, Artist-Entrepreneurs in the global economy. Ravi and Robe take questions submitted by listeners and answer them honestly, humorously, often times enlisting celebrity guests and experts making for highly entertaining and informative programs.

Music Legends Tony Newton and Chris Poland Blast Funk-Fusion Live In L.A.

Motown and Funk-Fusion bass legend, Tony Newton (TNT XTREME) and former Megadeth guitar legend, Chris Poland (OHM) bring their individual groups and respective versions of fusion to the Good Hurt Club in Venice on November 15, 2013 for a rare concert that promises funk and fusion music lovers an evening of high energy, no holds barred performances.

In the world of fusion music, few stand as real innovators and purveyors of this mystic music genre. Fusion music, which broadens and expands the boundaries of jazz, rock, and funk and combines these elements to create new artistic and compositional dimensions for the eclectic music listener to enjoy. Both Newton and Poland have defined the genre in innovative ways for over more than four decades in their own unique and original artistic approaches. Such early progressive fusion artists and bands such as Miles Davis, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Herbie Hancock, Brand-X, the Tony Williams Lifetime, and others forged this new direction in the late 70"s. Still, fusion is strong in the ears of hardcore eclectic music lovers for its mystical, artistic, unabashed, high-energy performances and musicianship.

Tony Newton's dynamic group, TNT XTREME electrifies audiences with his own distinct brand of "Thunder-Funk-Fusion". Tony describes his music as Motown meets Hendrix, meets Miles and brings his distinguished historical recording career of over 100 hit records and concert tours to his latest "Thunderfunkfusion" CD. Through his compositions on two albums as well as touring stints with former Miles Davis Drummer, Tony Williams and the Lifetime group, Newton became a founding architect of the Jazz-Rock-Fusion genre.

Newton's fusion classics, "Snake Oil" and "Red Alert" (inspired by the Star Trek TV series) were performed on the critically acclaimed Columbia recordings by The Tony Williams Lifetime and after more than 37 years, "Believe It" and "You Did It to Me Baby", "Inspirations of Love" and "Joyfilled Summer" from the album "Million Dollar Legs" are still popular and selling worldwide in re-release today. Newton additionally documents his experience as a musician in the Motown family as one of the "Funk Brothers" in his new biographical book entitled, "Gold Thunder" and music cinema documentary, five star Google film "Groovemonster". Also on the concert line-up is Chris Poland's OHM. Poland acted as a godfather of speed-metal and lead guitarist on the first two Megadeth albums. Chris was a well-known L.A. area fusion player prior to his stint with Mustaine's group. He has since continued to solidify his reputation as an exceptional musician and guitar player, leading such projects as his solo debut, "Return to Metalopolis" released in the 90's and as the leader of the now defunct progressive band, Damn the Machine. For the last several years he's been a member of the fusion power trio OHM, alongside bassist Rob Pagliari and drummer David Eagle - their current album is "Circus of
Sound."

Chris' smooth, overdriven tone and legato phrasing make him instantly recognizable. His unique style can be partially attributed to an injury to his index finger on his fret hand. This injury forced him to develop a style that includes smoothly phrased passages and wide intervallic leaps. Poland rejoined Megadeth to guest on "The System Has Failed" in 2004.

Since OHM the band was formed in 2002, they have recorded one live and 3 studio albums. Chris Poland states. "If you keep doing what you love, eventually people will notice." The Hollywood Music In Media Awards (HMMA), in association with Dash Radio, Skee TV, and The Los Angeles Recording School presents Official Launch Party of BOMPOPRADIO, on Tuesday, June 16, 2015. This red carpet event will feature an exclusive VIP/Industry/Celebrity mixer, an array of live music performances, and a special Outstanding Career Achievement presentation to the legendary recording group Earth, Wind & Fire.

"The House of Blues on Sunset is closing at the end of July, so we wanted to say ‘thank you HOB' for 20 years of amazing memories with one last mega-party!" said HMMA executive producer Brent Harvey.
