And so, I'm back again, with a rock sitting nicely on my finger.

Yup, life's good and I'm still breathing after many many busy days with a super busy week that has just passed. =)

I wont go into details of what happened during the past 1,2,3 (i think) months.
All that has passed were a flurry of activities, wanderous trips and pilling up work.
I think e last I've stopped was before my Taiwan trip, and that was like the highlight trip of 2011.
Taiwan is beautiful much, with HuaLien being best place to visit in Taiwan.
Why is that so?
It has this gorgeous rocks-laced beach, a beautiful honeymoon suite facing the ocean and that amazing interior of the suite.
We stayed at this santorini themed hotel called Hotel Bayview.
It isn't really right smack in HuaLien county, it's somewhere off the tip of HuaLien, at Qi Cing Tan!
Anyways, I'll try to dig out some photos for audience (if there's any).

The key point of this entry is, I'm going to get married (finally)!
Haha, not like I'm dying to walk down the aisle but it's really hard to be able to find someone who loves you the way you do in this era.
I've friends who are still finding love, and friends who have decided that they will hold the fort on their own in coming years, but the cynical me, have decided that he's the one.
Humans are not exactly the most perfect of all living things but I'm determined to make the big day a perfect one, since I've already gotten the perfect ring *teehee*.

I've decided to label the different stages of the proposal below, thus keeping this entry purely for Taiwan. =)

Ahhhh!
Bloggie's on hiatus again!
I'm so sorry, have too much, too many coming up my palate.
Well, as we all know it, I've been on yet another amazing trip to the land of jays and jolins. =)
All deserved break for the broken soul and I can't wait to travel to the bottom half of the land.
Wonderful munching trip with alot of shopping and many many photos!

1 month in hiatus and I'm back.

Was pretty busy with many stuffs, but I'm back here with yet another travelling post!
Haha, I'm pretty much deprived of my much needed trip, and I'm just counting down to 2 more weeks.

Basically, I've caught this article from a blog and felt that I should just share it here.

Above are the top 25 travelling destinations, and I'm very proud to say that I've visited 5 of them already!
As amazing as the other 20 places, I hope that I do get to visit every single one of them before any natural disaster strikes.

20 days of wanderlust adventures

I've been on an adventure laced 20 days.
Ups and downs and I'm finally back with a bang.

Officially resigned as an educator, and I'm well happy back to being a cooped-up designer.
Many thanks to my family, my boy and my closest friends for supporting me in this hard-made decision.
"You're a designer", made me a happier girl, and though I'll miss my kids, I still remain my stand that this is for their better.
I'm not officially trained to impart my knowledge and skills to them, and I believe the next people to do so, will have more patience in guiding them there.

During this last term holiday, I've also spree-d a little.
Didn't really binge shop during the Great Singapore Sale, but I'm sure I've bought enough to last me through the remaining year.

Bought this very cute floral swing skirt from Mango.
Fits me well, and I'm quite a sucker for floral swing skirts.

Uber cute cross stitch pattern on this cardigan made me buy it as well.
Love the colour scheme of light grey with pastel pink stitches.
Will do up a look book with all my new found loots soon.

I've took a short holiday to the sunny island of Tioman with both families.
It was lovely - the sun, the sand and the great turquoise blue sea.
The environment was serene and it kinda refreshed my mind.

What's up next?
I shall bring myself to yet another bi yearly hair makeover.
Being a person who has the shortest attention span, I tend to do a drastic makeover to my hair every half a year.
But the thing is, what to do next.
This new year saw me curling up my hair, then snipping them off, and my hair is in quite a frizzy mode now.
It's dry on the ends and I badly need to re-colour them.
Let me start on my research after this. =)

One door closes, another opens

I'm so happy.

First time sending an artwork to an international design magazine and it actually got featured.
I was going through that dark period when I turned on my laptop and started doodling with my dad in mind.
He talked me out from that period and I felt that since Fathers' Day is coming soon, I wanted to do something out for him.
First foray into the international design scene and I'm really thankful for the 2 likes which Dearest Daddykins has received so far.
The compliments were a huge boost for me, and they just assured me that the decision I made was correct.
Like what a friend once told me:
"You're a designer, always will be."

Another happy thing is that the collaboration with A has started, and I'm in the midst of creating cutesy character for this major project.
First time illustrating an entire website and I believe I will be able to do it well.
Will release these illustrations as I go along.

Live, like there's not tomorrow

I've finally chosen the road I know I'd be happier.
Yes, there'd been sadness and a tinge of can't-bear-to..
But I know this will be a better choice for me, for the kids, and for the planners.

Like in Buddha's words - Nothing is Permanent.
When it's time for all of us to leave, we can't take anything with us, and we will just leave behind a legacy (infamous or not).

Materialistically, I'm trying to curb my impulsive buyings (so ironic when it's GSS now).
So rightfully, giving up this job will not make a HUGE difference to my spending power.
I have wayyyyyyy too many stuff in my cupboard, some of which have been forgotten.
I love all of my shoes and mascaras but I realised, I haven't been using them at all. =(

Kids are innocent, and pretty much angelic, no matter how naughty they are.
I love my kids, especially the Saturday class ones, and I know it's very irresponsible and unfair to them that I have to leave.
But I'd rather leave earlier than to develop a bond with them - that will definitely make everything worst.
I want them to be in the hands of someone better than me, teaching and imparting them skills I weren't able to give them.
To all 7 of them, I dunno how am I to break the news to them, and to their parents.
They may not remember who am I when time passes, but those 7 of them will always be the famous 7 in my heart.
They are after all, my first class =)
As for the other 2 classes, I feel bad too.
Firstly, not being able to teach them well after their previous teacher left.
I wanted so badly to train them up, or to push them to absorb more than the other teacher could give.
But it backfired and they are starting to miss their previous teacher.
I'm sorry to 6/7 of them, not because I couldn't teach them anymore, but because I failed to teach them what they didn't learn previously.

To that special mentor, thank you for your time and efforts for always keeping me in mind.
I've disappointed you much and I guess the only thing to do now is to show you that I can do it for my Grade 5 exam.

Now that I'm done with this chapter in life, I really hope to put down everything and move on.
I've more stuff up in my mind, and I really hope that the collaboration with Ade will work out.

- More freelance stuff coming (and I'm really hoping for more)
- Brand new resume and cover letter
- DottedLoft (Need to update more stuff in there)
- Traveling (I'm super looking forward to Taiwan, Japan!, Korea)
- Exercising on every Tuesdays and Thursdays (Mondays will be my rest days)
- Meet ups with the different cliques of friends (Yes, to 3 wonderful cliques)
- Housing matters (I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed that HDB will approve our application and give us a house in Costa Ris)
- The BIG Wedding (Planning should be starting soon once the dates are here)

"Celebrations" had started as of last week, and other than sleeping more soundly than ever, I've been meeting up with friends.

Started with tennis with bestie = 2 loves with 1 outing.
First time playing tennis, and I thought it was fun and totally exhausting.
I still have burnt marks on my shoulders but it was worthy.

I spent my weekend with my lovely niece.
She likes "momo" and City Square had this Sesame Street performance over the weekends, so my family decided to bring her there.
Yes, "momo" is the red furry thing called Elmo.
She's soooooooo cute when she goes "momo" and she loves to shake like how cookie monster shake at the mention of the word - cookie.
Damn cute. =)

After that, I headed down to the city to meet up with my ex colleagues.
We had gorgeous pork knuckles frm Brotzeit and after which, we walked further down to Loof for a chillout session.
It's been extremely long...... since we met, and it was literally 2 years since we last met up with Keith.
Tsk, that busy guy has been flying in and out of Singapore and couldn't meet due to clashes of our free time.
It was the best we've ever had - Food, drinks, company.
And I was a happy girl by the end of the night.

Oh yes, this is my lunch today!
Braised Pork Rice (or lu rou fan) from this Taiwanese restaurant in Raffles City.
Very, very yummy!

Salted Chicken (or yan shu ji) which was equally yummy and made me quite happy.
But do not try their noodles cos it's quite bad and I had quite a bad time finishing them.

And finally, another photo which makes me smile everytime I see it.

It's Rikimaru, with the bear farm, on the bf's bed.

This is basically what I'm keeping myself busy with and I hope that all these will make me a happier person. =)

Beauty Review: Canmake Cream Cheek

This is the blusher I'm using currently, and I thought I should do some sharing of this great product here.
As introduced on the website, the Canmake Cream Cheek blusher creates a complexion that exudes health from deep within your skin, like a fountain of happiness.
It blends in with your skin as though melting into it, ensuring that your complexion stays looking dewy-fresh for hours on end.
It has a melting gel-type formulation that becomes dry after application, and it is extremely versatile.
Just a layer to create a natural look, and adding further layers to intensify your looks.

This is how you should layer it, according to the website:

Ball of your finger and dot the color onto your cheeks, as though pressing a stamp onto a piece of paper.

Gently stroke the color to blend it on your cheeks, as though joining up the dots.
Viola! A pair of very natural blended cheeks.

What I like about this blusher is that it is very natural and it has a variety of shades in giving you various options for different types of looks.
I'm quite impressed with the texture as well - very pigmented and it glides over your skin effortlessly.
The Cream Cheek range has about 10 colours, including 2 limited edition colours - Pinky Rose and Sweet Orange.
Some other colours includes:

Lesson in Life

Didn't want to share my personal issues here but this whole situation has gotten me thinking about life.
What about it, or rather what is life?

I've had people telling me life is all about doing this and that.
Looking back, I can proudly say that I've never wasted a day in my life.
I maybe resting and taking the back seat on days, but I'm very sure those are the days which I've overworked and I just wanted ME time.
ME time is very important, it's like you can do and put others above your needs everyday but doing so will just make you feel like it's just not you.
ME time for me, is just doing simple things, or things I'd take forgranted, like:

Taking a walk along the beach, alone, or it will be great if I bring a dog along.

Watching television, catching up on shows I've been missing out on, under the covers or when I'm feeling good, in the arms of my boy.

Running, or jogging along the beach with just my music.

Reading the papers, or a good book by Haruki Murakami.
Something I haven't been doing for ages.

Baking, in particular, cookies and cheesecakes.

Those are some of my long lost past times which existed when there weren't iPhones or technology.

A friend once told me, "Money is never enough for everyone, and you should appreciate health cos that is, and always will be your richest asset".
That made me realise that I haven't been taking very good care of my health, both mentally and physically.
I wanted to chase dollar notes, in hope that they will be able to fill me up with materialistic wishes, which are also black holes developed mentally.
After shopping and buying so much from the past months, buying fatigue sets in, and I realised that I have so many things in excess which I just store away and not see them ever since.
They are left forgotten but I'd ask myself "what will happen if I didn't get these at first?"
Am I working much more than my body can handle, just to offset the money I spent on excessive buying?
And with this, I must set my thoughts right:

I'm not a slave to money but I will make money a slave to me. =)

When I'm done with this issue, I hope that I'll change for the better cos:

And hopefully, I'll continue my wanderlust adventures cos I know, I belong to the world.

Beauty Review: ZA True White Foundation

Happened to walk by Watsons when I saw that they were having 20% off storewide, and thus I went in to have a look.
Popped by the cosmetics counters and I saw this awesome offer for the new ZA True White 2-Way Foundation.
I was complaining about the lack of coverage from my BB creams (it's always good to change your foundations every now and then so that it isn't used to it, haha!).
Having previously use the old True White Foundation, I decided to give this a try.

I've picked up the darkest shade available - 32, and happily brought it home to test.
It was slightly scented and the powder was extremely fine.
As I prefer to sweep the powder over using the dry method, it settled down very nicely on my face, covering every single pore and bump/redness.
In fact, it was very much better than the previous one.

Then came the next day when I was walking home, Watsons was having some clearance sale at the mall, and I picked up the concealer perfection!

It was quite timely as I had finished using the pale shade on my Sephora concealer palette, and it was quite a brilliant match for the newly acquired foundation.

So today I tried to be a ZA girl by having 75% of my face made up with ZA cosmetics.
After layering on the Clarins' Pore Minimiser, I had set a surface of sunblock/primer.
First up: Concealer Perfection

This little tube works very well in covering my heavy eyebags, but somehow, could not really touch up the redness.
But I didn't really want to go too heavy on it, cos I know the True White Foundation will work some miracles for me.
I've googled for some tips from the ZA Website on how to put on the Concealer Perfection perfectly.
And like what the tiny prints always say, never to slap on alot of concealer cos (in my opinion), will cake up and make everything very unnatural.
So just an appropriate amount of the concealer will do, and after that you are supposed to gradiate it.

Next, I'll use a dry sponge and pat some foundation on.

I have showed here the image of using wet sponge application.
Never tried it though.
I will normally try to stroke the puff upwards cos it do help in firming my face.
If you stroke/pat it downwards, your face may not look too radiant, or in fact, in long term, it may sag! *gasps*
Anyways, just try to do light strokes upwards, towards the ears area.
After doing an even layer, I'd take a little foundation and apply on my lips.
Yes, you've heard me right, lips.
This is a proven method to keep the lipstick/lipstain/lipgloss on.
I would also take it as a "dry-sunblocking" method for my lips when I do not have the intention of just applying spf-lipbalm.
After that, I will apply my all-time favourite product from ZA:

Yup, it's the Plumper Lips in Rose Vintage.
I was totally sold when I first saw the swatches at Watsons (yes, it's like my favourite drugstore).
Rose Vintage is an extremely nice colour.
Very nude-ish and suits my skin tone as well.
What I love best is that it is very moisturising and not sticky at all.
It has this "fill-up collagen" which replenishes the lips with rich moisture while "plump-up pearl", with its light-diffusing effect, makes the lips look incredibly moisturised, plump and smooth.
This description is from the website and I can find no better description than that.

I have also showed here, the image of how to plump up your lips every more (for party nights/dates).

Nars Orgasm

Just like I had mentioned previously, this post will kick start the series of makeup items which I'm currently using, and also some of my favourites.

Up first is the highly raved Nars Orgasm blusher.

I was so happy to find the Nars counter at Suvarnabhumi Airport that I told the boyfriend I had to get the Nars Orgasm.
I was contemplating to get the Nars Super Orgasm or the good ol' Orgasm, but I finally chose the latter after doing 1 round in the airport.
Not too sure if it has already reached the shores of our sunny island but this is 1 of the most satisfying buys from my BKK trip.

Here's a little history of Nars:
NARS Cosmetics is a Shiseido-owned cosmetics and skin care company founded by François Nars, make-up artist and photographer.
The minimalist packaging was created by Fabien Baron and has been hailed as a modern design icon.
Product shades carry provocative names like 'Orgasm', 'Deep Throat', 'Striptease,' and 'Sex Machine'. NARS 'Orgasm' blush is one of their most top-selling products, being Best of Sephora's Best Blush for 2006, 2007 and 2008.

Back and unsatisfied

Ok, I'm officially back, but totally unsatisfied with this trip.
Touched down on the sunny shores on Tuesday, got back to work on Wednesday.
Big big bummer, cos I was feeling out of sorts for the past 2 days, like I didn't have the energy or some drive to move.

Anyways, BKK has changed quite a bit from the last I had visited it.
More shopping centres, less night markets, and everything was getting so commercialised.
I guess the amount of shops in Platinum Mall and Chatuchak kinda overwhelmed me that I was quite lost as to what to pick out and buy. =(
Double bummer was that people weren't as friendly as previous, and everything was just way overpriced.
We'd got cheated quite a couple of times, and had to tell ourselves that it's their ricebowls they are doing this for.

On the brighter note, the hotel was fabulous, food was glorious, company was awesome.

The hotel had arranged for a junior suite for us (which I really didn't think much of).
But it was good - a kitchenette upon the entrance, a living area (complete with telly and sound sound system) slightly further in.

The room was to the left and it had quite a view of the Pratunam area, from the 20th storey.

They had decorated the comfy king sized bed with rose petals and rolled up towel swans as well =)

Loots wise, as mentioned above, I wasn't very satisfied with the buyings.
But I had still managed to fish out some nice pieces for the shop.
Bear with me, the shop is still going through some bits of changes and hopefully it will make its grand opening by the end of nxt month.

I was quite happy when I got these

1st up: 4 pairs of shoes (seems like I've bought a year's worth of shoes already)

melissa x vivienne westwood jellies
I'm totally in love with this pair =)

melissa x the little prince
I'm into the Little Prince, and I knew this pretty piece was a must.

I saw this pair in HK last Sept and I knew my heart was still itching for it. =)

So 3 pairs of melissa pumps and the last was a pair of wood clog-wedges.

Something alone the line, but the wedges were very comfy.

I'm into the Little Prince, and I knew this pretty piece was a must.

I saw this pair in HK last Sept and I knew my heart was still itching for it. =)

So 3 pairs of melissa pumps and the last was a pair of wood clog-wedges.

Something alone the line, but the wedges were very comfy.
So at 120baht, it was a steal!

Tell me it will be a good day tomorrow.

Despite being sick and dizzy yesterday, I had quite a good alone time cos I managed to clear out my loots from the other cupboard.
Yes, you've heard me right, I have.. 1 stretch of wardrobe in my previous room, and a 2-door cupboard in my current room.
As I usually dump the stuff (with their respective bags) in the cupboard, I realised I had to sort them out in order to make space for the new stuff coming back from BKK.
But as I dug out more stuff (even stuff which I had forgotten that I bought before), I was quite turn off by the shopaholic in me.
I had excess of cosmetics and dresses.
Thank god, the shoe-aholic in me didn't work up for these few months, neither did the bagaholic part.
I managed to not buy shoes and bags (except for the mooks I really like) and I think I'm doing good cos I have half the storeroom filled with shoes and 2 storage boxes of bags.
Sighs, and thank god I had decided to pack my cupboard cos I'm at the amber light of buying more stuff.
Looking through, I found some really good stuff which I bought previously and that should last me for a good few years/months ahead, so that's like a reminder not to buy anymore!

Ok back to happy Thursday, I'm really happy cos it's a short week, and moreover it's like another 24 hours til I depart for BKK.

Ok, the key thing for this trip is to buy, but for the shop.
I want to share good stuff with people out there.
Let's see if I can adhere to it.

I created this safari themed look of the day cos I'm really in holiday mood now.
And I feel africa-ish. Hah!

The following looks were done previously when I was really bored in office:

This look is very... preppy.
Something I'd wear to the library and check out some geeks there. ;)

Ok, this is me.

Biker jacket.
Sleek hair.

Here's something up for a not so good looking Wednesday:

I did this look for Monday but I've been busy packing stuff into my luggie the past few days, thus I can only post it for the look of Wednesday.
I'm kinda stuck as to what to wear over in the extremely burning Bangkok.
Definitely no reds nor yellows.
Cool white will be good to reflect off those rays, but I'm running low on white stuff (I'm more of a black person cos it makes me look slimmer, heh).
Should I stick with sun dresses or cool cotton rompers or just plain ol' shorts n tees.
Footwear has been settled - I shall survive my entire trip with my good and survived-angkor-wat-haviannas sandals.
Tell me what shall I wear, and also not to overload my luggie (I'm soooo glad I can check in my luggie this time).

Another mission of this trip, other than to sink into the soft beds of sticky rice and mango, is to stock up on my shop's inventory.
Yes, you've heard me right, MY SHOP. =)
I don't really want to jump on those short-term-money-making bandwagon but I really do like the idea of selling something to everyone online.
Of course, I'm not looking at those cheap cotton flimsy stuff you can get down the streets of Bugis Village at 10 bucks.
I'm really into bringing in the "Artistry" styled clothes.
Something along the lines of designer-chic, structured basics stuff.
Oh yes, I'm quite excited, cos it's not limited to clothes only, there will be (hopefully enough money for) other stuff like accessories and even furnitures! =D
Ok, basically, the direction for my shop is: To bring pretty stuff nearer to you, in bids to help you create a better and beautiful environment, something along that line.
If this really takes off (I'm keeping my fingers crossed), we will prolly take off to more places to find and bring back more "Artistry"-styled stuff.
It's like.. not so much of the returns but more of the process - of doing something I like (something I learnt from Glee).
Like what I had mentioned, I don't expect much returns from this little shop but I really do hope that it will bring me nearer to my goal of having a real, physical shop or heaven-on-earth as I'd call it, to get me off from this world. =)

Her recent runway show was attractive, in fact, impressive to me.

Told you I'm hooked with creating my favourite look of the day with this website. =)
And since it's FRIDAY today, I've created 2 pieces which I feel are just right for Fridays.

1. TGIF

I'm not too sure why the portrait view isn't saved properly.
Anyhoos, the main focus for this image has to be the black balls around the model's neck.
Lovely piece!
This look can be worn if you are some high ranking personnel in the office, and if you might have some casual meetings with your clients or something.
I actually like the top very much cos it is classy infront, and bringing sexy back from behind.
And those shoes......
I wished I owned them!

2. It's Party Time!

I was actually thinking of an exclusive YSL fashion show at the top of the roof when I did this look, thus the chic getup for some after party drinks.
This jumpsuit/playsuit is quite versatile - just throw on a structured jacket in the office if there are meetings, and switch it to a super chic Kenzo scarf, stack on all your chunky bracelets and rings before you hit the dancefloor.
And if it is indeed an exclusive YSL party, I'm sure all attention will be on the gorgeous YSL belt across the waist.

To make up for not posting anything yesterday, I am sooooo eager to do up 2 posts today!
First up, I found this lookbook website by accident and got hooked on it fast!
I was playing with it whole morning to come up with 3 different looks.
It's very addictive, some sort of "paper doll" which we used to play when we were younger, but it's up online, everything with a click of the mouse.
Everything is very customized: from the model, to the dresses, to the accessories and even the background, and the mode of shot.
I love =)
So, the first look I did was the Midsummer Night's Dream look:

I was very attracted to the tulle dress, and I decided to do away with the very white and fairytale background.
And I've decided to put the model into a glass ball, added some sparkles and it is still very dreamy, but dark.

2nd look of the day: Smarty Psychedelic (also known as the look I love most)

This look is very me, and something I would gladly wear everyday.
It's a wee bit inspired by Tsumori Chisato style, or rather, the closest I can get to her style.
Slouchy top with shorts and a pair of wedges.
So pretty, especially the colours!
Oh yes, did I mention, this look is also a tribute to my all-time favourite designer - Marc Jacobs (other than Tsumori Chisato, heh).
Everything in the look (shorts, wedges, accessories) except the top was from Marc Jacobs.
The bright top was from Miss Sixty.
Now, only if I have the moolahs in real-life to wear this look!

Last look of the day: Leaving on a Jetplane

This will be my best suit up in the skies.
So comfy, with a throwover, a mini top over a plain tank, soft jeans, and super comfy melissa jelly pumps.
I'd prolly carry a hobo bag with me but this yellow Marc Jacobs is good enough.
Grab a pair of sunnies and straighten my hair into a sleek pony tail.
I guess I'm all set for a wonderful holiday ahead! =D
